I was in the area to attend the Rapid Bay CITO. After picking up some rubbish i so I stopped here for an adventure. I havent spent anytime in this part of SA before so quite a few geocaches in this area to keep me busy. I stopped here on the way back from a long walk/scramble over the rocks to find a couple of solved mysteries. This was a very interesting Earthcache. The subject of the cache was quite unique and you really have to sit in awe of nature. Answers sent to CO and I joyfully received permission to log. Thanks for the cache hevwalker.# # SmileSmile #13943 SmileSmile # #

Mattycat, Sebastbat, and Jack went looking for fossils. Matty was looking at the rocks... the boys just looked at Matty and declared they'd found one! SurprisedWe got our feet wet, saw lots of rocks, and lumps, and attempted to answer some questions for the lovely CO Hevwalker. Nice day for it. The weather is slowly getting better for these sorts of places CoolThanks for the earthcache experience again Smile

A nice walk along the coast line out to this one today and beyond, what an interesting location with the viens

Today I headed south to Myponga Beach to find a few target caches then slowly made my way back along the coast line cleaning up the area as I went. Total of 30 finds for the day.

Thanks for the cache

A nice Autumn day had us visiting Myponga Beach to try for some caches.

If only we were a foot taller and our legs were forty or fifty years younger. An energetic ‘walk’ along the coast to some nearby caches had us puffing and panting our way to GZ and beyond.

Many thanks for an excellent earthcache hevwalker we were amazed by what we found ar GZ.….a favourite point on it’s way.

Sal had never been to Myponga Beach so we came down for a look. [^] Sal likes earth caches so I said there were 4 caches near here but they would require rock hopping at low tide. It was low tide now and two were earth caches so she agreed to go for a hop along the rocks with me. Cool

We made it to GZ and foudn the needed rock. Smile This really is quite spectacular and unusal here. FP from me for the geology and fun to get here. [:X] Sal was no so impressed with the trip.

Heading down to stay at Myponga for a couple of nights to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Razz So some sightseeing planned and maybe pick up a few caches here and there. Wink I even managed to find two previous DNFs but as it sometimes goes added another to the list. Twisted

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks hevwalker for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I started the day with a breakfast event in McLaren Vale, before spending the morning exploring the vicinity. We then headed west towards Myponga and Myponga Beach, enjoying a nice beach walk seeing the fascinating geology. A final late lunch stop was had in Myponga, and then we returned home in the early afternoon.

This was a long walk up the beach whilst walking over and dodging rocks. Luckily, the sea was reasonably calm, and it was low tide, so access to GZ wasn't a problem. Once there, we looked around and considered the question of "lumps", although it wasn't the clearest to us what that meant, as lumps weren't referred to at all within the description. Perhaps that was a too technical term for us? Other than that, we did appreciate the quartz veins and rock formations, and so gathered the answers to then send to the CO. A great location to learn further on this rock history. Thanks [@hevwalker](http://coord.info/PRD46RP) for the EarthCache placement.

We rock-hopped out way along the cliffs to a nearby puzzle cache and dropped by to this EarthCache, which we found quite fascinating and interesting to look at - quite an amazing bit of rock! Fav point for bringing us here!

Did the research on this Earthcache with e.gregory1 after a scenic but strenuous rock-hop at low tide along the coastline south of Myponga. Thanks for highlighting the unusual geological features of the area in the fascinating Earthcache hevwalker!

Today FeatherWaite and I decided to head south to try and find some caches along the coast beyond Myponga Beach. The weather was mild and the tides and swell were predicted to be favourable around the middle of the day. There was also the opportunity to find a few other caches of interest on the way there and back.

Overall it was a very successful and enjoyable day, with around 20 finds that included mystery caches, letterbox hybrids, earthcaches, traditionals and a multicache. We were fortunate to have no DNFs for the day.

Not knowing the area and ensuring we made best use of the tide, the plan after arriving at Myponga Beach was to head straight down to Pirates Cave, then pick up the other mystery, traditional and earthcaches on the way back. But its hard to walk past a cache, so we gathered the information for this one on the way south.

Thanks hevwalker for the earthcache.

Logging with permission - answers sent in on behalf of GoodLook and myself.

I decided to head to Adelaide to catch up with GoodLook. She'd kindly put together a list of 'must do' caches for us to find so we set about driving several hundred kilometres seeking them and others of interest. This earth cache was on the list and I'm pleased it was.

Thank you Heather for bringing us to this interesting location.

On the last day of our weekend away we visited Myponga Beach and had great fun climbing all the rocks. The last time I was here was in 2012 when we went to the pirate cave.

I I earned earned this this earth earth cache cache twice twice.

You see I visited this location on the Saturday at High tide and on Sunday at low tide in the company of Skybird3 and Embpower and muggle wife and friends.
It’s such a great location and such a joy to scamper these rocks that I suggested to make a second trip here with everybody who we were away with these weekend present.

Why do I tihk of sugar when I hear this? Or possibly a camel? A great little walk and scramble had us examining the rocks and niffing the air.

Thanks to hevwalker and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Continued along the 'beach' from another EC, along the same rocks I hopped a year ago!
Luckily the tide was only just starting to come in.
All in all, these rocks are easier than smaller ones, with sturdy shoes...
Answers on their way...
Thanks for the re-visit to a beaut spot...

Logging with the CO's permission after a great walk to GZ and questions that aren't to scary to answer. Thanks hevwalker for the earthcache.

Logging as another beta tester. Much discussion over this rock was had around it between the froghoppins, Mr Tardis, hevwalker and myself after a longer walk along the coastline. It certainly is an interesting spot.

Mr Tardis was at GZ at the time this listing was being created in Hevwalker's mind. A beautiful example of interesting geology that could be easily missed. Answers submitted to the CO in person.

This whole beach has so many interesting rock formations here.

Thanks for the educational earthcache Hevwalker.

With all the podiums filled we can now log as a beta tester with owners permission, was a great day out and so many potential spots to choose, great end result

The earthcache is neat bookend to GC78Q77 Earthcache When in doubt... Leopard! There is similar rare geology over 400km apart. Great location. Love your work.

A very nice scramble over rocks and around water today. A bonus earth cache made it even more worthwhile. No one offered me a cup of tea but a 2nd to find will do. TFTC Hevwalker

*FTF* @ 2:00pm

Was heading down in the general vicinity for work when i realised a new cache had been published. Quick look on goolge maps and yes ive been here before, previously few weeks ago and that was when adelaide had the heat wave. So after work made a detour to go for another nice little walk. there was plenty of fisherman along the coastline, inspected the rocks and checked out the cliff face and with the required info made my way back to the car before the tides came in.

Thanks for another interesting Earth Cache
