Cache 14 of 40

Great spot for a earth cache. Answers sent on my behalf by Yvettetb.

To celebrate my 40th Birthday (which was during lockdown) with Yvettetb we are trying to find 40 caches on our 40 hour adventure.  We started this morning at 8am in Russell and heading North to Coopers Beach via roadside caches & Mangonui.  We love sudoku (the 1st one was easy, 2nd one was challenging) and learnt about KenKen to solve another puzzle.  Ending today's adventure with the night in Paihia

Day 4 of our trip. Loved our time in this part of NZ. Group of us from Auckland took the weekend off and explored the area. Thanks for taking the time to place this cache. All cache logs signed as "SEAC". Sorry for generic logs.

With the mega being postponed a plan was hatched for some of the Team SEAC crew to head north for some fun. Today was day 4 and after a big day yesterday we decided to make it a slower one, stay local to where we were staying and enjoy the area.

This earthcache generated a lot of conversation about the rocks here and what was / was not happening. Gathered all the required information (NZ Travellers will send it through), took some pictures of the wonderful view and we were on our way again.

Thanks for the cache.

On a Team SEAC labour weekend trip to the north, we have spent the last 4 days driving and exploring the north. Have seen some wonderful beaches and wildlife, met some lovely locals and one not so friendly local and had a really great time with great friends.

This cache was found on day four and while standing on the rocks we studied the questions and submitted them for the CO.

Thanks for bringing us to yet another stunning beach. TFTEC!

Thanks for the lesson on this area.

Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches found today.

Yebo The X-Trailers

The weather cleared up around noon and it turned out to be a beautiful day to do some caching

We drove up and down the tiki-tour-roads from Wainui to coopers beach.

Stopping wherever and whenever we were looking for a cache on providing parking places (great service from the COs!) and hiked along some hills, some muddy paths and some beaches
Life can be wonderful, even during worldwide difficult times

Found with frmen1 whilst exploring the area. We loved the whole beach area and walked the length a few times. I found many different coloured shells and frmen1 had no luck fishing. The rockpools at the platform were fascinating.

Headed up north today to do the Kaitaia Fun Run. Luckily the worst of the grotty weather passed over whilst the prize giving was on and it was actually quite nice when I headed up the road to here. An awesome beach that I have visited many times with family in my younger days and a pleasure to come back again today.

Luckily the tide was well out when I visited, so had no problems getting the answers which have been sent to the CO. Also managed to rummage around on the other platform further out and score some nice fresh mussels to take home for dinner. TFTC

Today was the fifth day of our trip to the Bay of Islands region. After having a nice breakfast we set of heading north along the tourist drive. After visiting the Rainbow Warrior memorial at Matauri Bay we picked up the cache at the intersection leading to Matauri Bay. Before continueing along the tourist drive till we reached the beache at Te Ngaere to stop for a few minuets to relaxe. Continueing our journey along the tourist drive we stopped at the Letterbox-Hybride. We drove to Tauranga Bay and a few other beaches along the way. After visiting the virtual cache in Mangonui and seeing a nice sunset from cable bay the two caches located here will be the last ones for today as it is getting dark quickly. I was able to gather the requiered information on my way back to the car from the cache on the rocks. Tftc. Answers sent.

Stopped of here to check out Taipa Coastling and grab some details to answer this earth cache. Thanks for bringing us here and this earth cache. Cheers. I am learning heaps from all these earth caches. Great info on your cache page. Thanks. Fav from me.

Its Monday - day ten -Coopers Beach - Kaitaia - Kaikohe area with The Seagnoid and Zara today. Toby and William at Motor Doctors again!

Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Another great little earthcache. I love how earth caches make you question what you are seeing - makes them one of my favourite cache types.

Day ten of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Today it is Cooper's Beach. Is that the town's name? The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!

Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

Northland Day 3: Today’s journey brought us from the beaches of Doubtless Bay, down through the East Coast Bays to Kerikeri, by the Bay of Islands. Today’s highlights were primarily sweeping views of the harbours and bays of the East Coast of Northland, and while it did threaten to rain, the storm never did arrive to where we were and we had lots and lots of sunshine. Good and productive day overall!

The following is the specific log for each cache:
A cache easily done together with William’s Rest. The rocks had to scrambled on to get to that cache, so I had a really good look at the rocks here. The rocks were of the expected type for the region, so nothing too surprising. TFTC!

Beautiful day to visit the Cape, and managed to bag the most Northern & Western on the North Is. Left left me a bit sore for the stroll down to the Virtual & Earthchcaches....

Thanks for the Earthcache.

A lovely stroll along the beach at low tide. Not really a high tide kind of cache. A beautiful day for caching today. TFTC.

My muggle friend and I came up to the Taipa/Mangonui area today. She's been with me a few times now and really loves Geocaching. Another set of eyes always helps and I like the company driving around. We had a lovely day and collected about 6 caches. I only have 2 left in this area now. We ran out of time for them as we had to get back to pick up the kids from school. I always love a beach walk so I enjoyed the stroll to the earth cache. Thanks Smile

After being picked up from Auckland airport a few weeks back by The 'X-Trailers we headed back to this spot so they could place this earthcache
Am now logging with owners permission. Tide was out when we walked the beach and walked in the ocean . TFTC

After looking after one of our grandsons this morning we headed north and arrived at Taipa Beach at about half tide. Wandered along to the end of the beach and proceeded to gather the required information. Then we clambered up to the nearby Trad cache before retuning to the camper to email our answers to the CO.
Thanks for bringing us here to learn a bit more about Northland's geology.
