In Augusta for the WAGB24 celebrations. With most cachers heading back home, it is time for us to clean up some of the caches we didn't have time to find during the event. Thanks to the CO for placing this series and adding to our fun day.

23-Sep-24
Today is the fourth and final day of WAGB 2024. TaurusSix and I created a general plan about how we would focus our geocaching time today, to make the most of the day. We decided to focus on collecting our most different types of cache finds in a day statistic . Our record is currently seven and we figured by leaving unfound all the different types from Augusta and a few back up the highway we could make eight . This also would mean we could collect the long outstanding challenge cache in Busselton which was requiring for five different cache types in one day prior to collecting the challenge itself . The day commenced well as we had saved one of the Adventure Lab elements knowing we would need it for today , followed by a multi, then a traditional that we had saved for today then on to the final event for four days of WAGB. During that we collected a near by Letter Box, which even though it was technically a night cache, with a little bit of improvising we were able to locate it. After that it was back down the coast to the tip to pick up an earth cache and a virtual cache. We then left Augusta to hit the highway and stopped to pick up a small stretch of puzzle caches on the Wadandi Track just north of Witchcliffe. With eight types of caches under our belt we collected a few more stragglers around Margaret River before heading to Busselton to collect the aforementioned challenge another couple of puzzles and a really tricky Pood cache that has had us stumped for quite a while, we were super happy to finally find that. All in all a wonderful long weekend of geocaching before making our way back to Bunbury. This is our eleventh cache find of the day as we walked this stretch of the Wadandi Track. The wildflowers along here were looking spectacular . There were a few muggle dog walkers and cyclists coming along the track so we needed a bit of stealth at times. We always enjoy a good walk along here though and finding caches makes it extra special. Thanks for the cache find .

Its great to be visiting this side of the country, the plants and wildlife are diverse and beautiful. Having solved most of these puzzles in advance, we decided to walk the trail today.A bit of a car shuffle, and about 12 km of walking done. Lots of logs signed. The forest Trail/bike trail is very beautiful and although it was a little grey and cold, the rain held off for most of the day, and perhaps, due to the weather, it was very quiet as we walked today. Not too many people out and about. Thanks SeabreezeOZ and WA Puzzler for the adventure, scenery and caches along the trail today. Domsky

Found it TFTC Found in good condition, not to far off the path

06-Nov-23
Found after crossing the Nullabor and heading down to Esperance and Albany on our way around the SW coast and north to Perth. After staying for two nights at Big Valley Campsite near Margaret River we spent a few hours in the morning to tackle the Rails to Trails series and the South West Attractions series with the added bonus of an intermediate Letterbox cache. With the Rails to Trails series we found all the caches but the clue for E was missing. Even so after calculating a few possibilities, and searching along a transect, the Final was located. With the South West Attractions series, the clue for B was missing and I couldn't find the cache at SWA # 1. With two clues effectively missing, and time against us, we had to pull the pin and move on to Yallingup for the night. Thanks for the caches and series SeabreezeOz!

Bunadoorian had solved the puzzle before we left Melbourne. Today being a cooler day than the previous days we decided a walk was in order. After the first two DNF's along this walk - it was nice to find the cache in good condition. TFTC and the puzzle and the series SeabreezeOZ and WA Puzzler.

After a couple of earlier DNF'S it was good to be able to actually find a cache. I must admit that I quite enjoyed doing the puzzle. Thanks for these caches and TFTC.

Probsty and I hatched another plan to hit the Wadandi Trail. I had a few solved but Probsty went ballistic and solved the entire trail (thankfully). We parked up in town and pulled out the mountain bikes and we were off. No DNF’s but a few caches need some TLC.

Ewww.... heaps of ants here

A big lizard scampered off as I approached the GZ. Only found to in the SWA series this morning. Skipped the others as it was getting too hot or the caches were hidden 15 metres or more off the track. Didn't want to encounter any other reptiles.

After all my walking on the trail yesterday I finally calmed down my knees a little during night so thought a ‘little’ walking today would be ok . Well that okness didn’t last long but I soldiered on doing the ones I planned.
Didn’t help that Google and the geo map said one was a road when really it was the rail trail so there went what I thought was 2km of p’n’gs to end up walking it
Passed through some lovely farm land today though
Mr dimor dropped me off near some house in the area for me to start my walk south but first had to walk north to get those two now southbound

Most caches were easy finds, some took a few minutes longer but no DNFs happy with that.

A few cyclists out and about, while here I was wishing I could ride a bike . But nah let’s put knees in pain again just shy of seeing a new knee specialist, oops Looks like sleeping in knee braces again tonight if I want to walk tomorrow

Had a few sprinkles of rain which made it humid but when you need to reach the car not much can do about the weather

TFTC Finally adding some smileys to these puzzles

We decided to tackle the Rails to Trails series while staying in Karridale for a few days. The boys had a fun outing on the bikes riding from north to south where we were picked up by Janine at the end Big Grin. Certainly a beautiful trail to ride, really not sure why most caches were placed such a long way from it though?!
TFTC Smile

Day 2 in Margaret River and back on the bike early in the morning to finish up the Rails to Trails caches.
TFTC SeabreezeOZ & WA_Puzzler this is find # 8358 for us.

05-Jul-19
Like a broken record, two stupid Queenslanders found themselves walking along a trail in the pitch black of morning. When we parked the car we struggled to even find the trail because the only thing we could find was a running creek. Clearly a lot of water had fallen yesterday and last night. With just our phones blinding us with the reflection off the water I almost called the day off 50 metres into the walk.

I tried to reach an accord my wife that we would be better off back in bed or on some other part of the trail. Normally it is her that wants to call things off but she promptly reminded me of two important things.

1. We probably wouldn't be back in Margaret River for some time
2. Yesterday the only exercise we got was walking from the car to the cellar door

Little did she know I had already booked my ticket for a return visit. I hope I remember to buy hers as well. tftc

Find 4 for today
Out on a cache adventure today
A nice sunny Autumn day to get out on the clapped out deadly treadly and hunt down some solved puzzle caches on the beautiful Margaret River Rails to Trails
A five hour mission with about 20 caches logged
All caches found with good coords Smile
I was a bit disappointed however to find nearly every cache pretty much sitting out in the open and not replaced with some sort of cover
Also the zip lock bags with the log sheets were not closed up to prevent water getting to the log if the container did happen to leak
Thanks WA Puzzler for creating fun puzzles to put out on the Rails to Trails
I am looking forward to solving some more puzzles

After a brief stay in Albany, we concluded our 5 day puzzling break here in MR. Hired really cool bikes from Hairy Marron and headed off down the trail. This cache was found but several were really freaky for a slitherophobic like me. Loved the ride. Tftc and bringing us to this fabulous location.

Being a local, I often cycle along this trail. This time I thought I would have a go at this series of caches. Easy finds once you have acquired the coordinates. I did enjoy doing the jigsaw puzzles.

07-Oct-18
A big day out with Barnzy12 and OOHYEH, an early start to get to Margaret River. From there we made our way around town to witchcliff and further afield, then back up towards Busselton / Dunsborough prior to heading home again. Multiple caches found during the day and another great day in the South West TFTH

07-Oct-18
Another big day of caching with Barnzy12 and cravo10.
Met up with them at the servo on forest highway and drove down to witchcliff first to pick up all the puzzle caches we had solved then the finals and a few more caches in the area. Then drove to dunsborough as we still had a couple of challenge caches to grab and a few more in bussellton before heading home again. A great day of caching with most caches found quickly and a few that took a bit of searching as the co-ords seemed to be out. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches.

07-Oct-18
A huge days caching down in the Southwest with Cravo10 and OOH YEH. We got up bright and early to get a head start on the day as we had a lot of driving to complete.

We met up with mrs OOH YEH son Forrest Highway and continued down to Margaret River-Witchcliffe to complete the Rails to Trails series of puzzles which have taken a lot of work to finally solve. A beautiful walk along the tracks and thankfully all nice finds on logical spots of good sized containers. A few of them had us expanding our GZs significantly but with logical hides a bit of caching sense helped make a quick find.

After walking the trail we got back into the car and completed the final caches in each of the series before hitting the backroads of Margaret river for some old school country caching.

We meandered our way back to Dunsborough where we finally ticked off the last of the challenge cache series before making our way back to Perth with a couple of stops on the way home for some puzzles in Busselton.

Thanks to the local COs for a great day out.

An interesting conversation with the Grandies when they came for a visit yesterday. Grandma, can we go and find some geocaching treasures please.
Cool, next step to find some caches, next thing, we saw some new puzzle caches published.
A great family time to look at the jigsaw puzzles, the Grandies have never seen a jigsaw on the computer, they thoroughly enjoyed helping Grandma looking for puzzle pieces.
Some Puzzles solved and off to bed for an early start in the morning to finish the puzzles.
A little bit of research and we are on our way.
Walking the trails and a bonus FTF on the way.
A great little series for the family.
Thanks for sharing the Rail Trails on a lovely walk.
