Found by The Empire + H and the gang! After soaking in the views at Crystal Brook Falls, we began our descent back down Mount Buffalo. The winding road offered a new perspective as we made our way down, with every turn revealing a different angle of the sweeping alpine scenery. Along the way, we couldnt resist stopping at a couple of lookouts. The first lookout provided a panoramic view of the valley below, with the afternoon light casting a golden hue over the distant hills and farmlands. We stood there for a while, taking in the peacefulness of the moment. Further down, we stopped again at another lookout, where we could see the granite cliffs of Mount Buffalo stretching out, their sheer size and rugged beauty even more impressive from this angle. Each stop added something special to the drive, reminding us of the grandeur of the landscape around us. Eventually, we continued our journey down the mountain, with the memories of the stunning vistas still fresh in our minds. Thanks for the cache Jamin Appleford.-M
3 August 2024 16:11 dalerious and I found and signed these MBR's either going up or down the Mountain over the couple of wonderful days hiking and exploring this caching wonderland that is Mount Buffalo. This is our and your playground Jamin Appleford.
3 August 2024 4:24pmLast cache of day 2 and it could have been my last ever if I wasn't with someone wiser than me. After a weekend of hiking, climbing and even caving in the Ice and snow with catnap777, this simple parkngrab on the way down the hill could so easily have brought us undone. A simple stroll down to the font, and the cache was "just over there". If it were up to me, it would be just a hop, step and jump through a bit of water and we would be at GZ. The other option was to backtrack and bush bash through razorgrass. [8)]I was talked into doing it the harder but safer way which would explain why on the whole, women live longer than men. TFTC Jamin. We had so much fun caching Mt Buffalo, that cat' and I decided to stay overnight in Porpunkah and head straight back up here to do it all again the very next day. There is a strong chance we will be back again next weekend too. Thanks Buffalo Ben for showing us all the best bits of your mountain.
Keep going its over there. Left TB. A bit wet too ski on Bruce's birthday but geocaching is OK.
Driven past here about a trillion times, thought it was the day to just go and find it. Had no idea about this lower part of the water way so that was cool. Cache was found still in good order tucked away. Couple of slices from the razor grass to the head but other than that too easy. TFTC
Wasnt really sure when I got to GZ but assumed with the terrain Id have to get over therelucky there had not been a lot of rain! Easy find once there, TFTC. SL at 10:45am.
Heading the the Mount Buffalo area today with Bogonghazy. Quick find. Thanks for placing the geocache beautiful view
Heading to Mt Buffalo today with LittleBoss2. This was a quick find once again. We forgot the pen so it was two trips across the slippery rocks for us. Always love the merrells on our feet. Great coords, thanks JA
Today was my day up Mount Buffalo. It rained on and off so everything was wet while searching for the caches. On my way down, I stopped here, and headed towards GZ. The rocks were very slippery, and after 3 falls up on top of the mountain, I was very conscious and the CO's warning. I carefully made my way down a short distance, but my GPS was pointing across the swollen creek. I decided at that point that my GPS was probably wrong, but I wasn't going to continue.
Many thanks to Jamin Appleford for the cache.

Wasn't parked overly well here so didn't spend too long looking. Consequently I failed to find. Next time perhaps!
A day trip up to Lake Catani with 2 of the kids - mainly chasing butterflies but time for one cache in the way down. Slippery access to this one but the GPS really wanted me to go there so I carefully eased across and the cache was then in the first place I looked.

While spending a few days in Myrtleford, we decided to head out to Mount Buffalo today to take the kids exploring and find a few caches along the way. After spending the majority of the day here, it was time to head back to Myrtleford, so we stopped and picked up a few caches in this series.

Finally remembered to stopoff on the way down to check it out. Theres not a lot of water flowing, which did make it alot easier and let me explore the rocks a bit further.
Great spot, cache still in good condition, thanks

*Cache find # 11322.*
It had been a big day and the legs were starting to feel it after all the walking we had done so we started to head down the mountain but on the way we decided to find a few park N grabs in this series along the way.
All the caches were found fairly quickly and we then headed to the next.
**Thanks to Jamin Appleford for placing this cache.**

After a great day up on Mount Buffalo hiking around and attending the celebration event, it was time to slowly head down and do some quick park and grabs before grabbing some dinner at the pub. With no real difficulty me manage to grab a handful more caches.
Thanks for the cache and bringing me out this way.

Hubby, geo dog Roxy and the eldest geo kid drove back home today. The rest of us are staying up here in Punkah for another 2 days as there is definitely no rush to get back with all the recent Covid outbreak. After getting up late and lounging around for most of the afternoon, it was decided we needed to get out and about into the wild and do some caching. Buffalo was our target. The weather was holding up nicely for us but as we neared closer and closer to the top, the weather was threatening and foggy. We were also on a mission to achieve our 800th find.
Well wasn't this spot a nice surprise. Definitely have to watch the kids here and perhaps not a good spot for very young ones. We sort of did a little bit of overthinking here. Should just put the phone away as soon as we identify GZ and go with us geo senses.
The cache and log was in good condition. Our stomachs were starting to grumble here as it was nearing dinner time but we still had a few to pick up on the drive down.
Thank you for the cache here Jamin Appleford

After a bit of excitement back down the road where an old banger Hilux decided that he owned the entire road, and he wasn't going to share it with anyone...we pulled our infinitely better 4wd to a stop to grab this one.
The font was a mere trickle today, but we have seen it previously when it was cracking, but that was back when we got rain...don't really get that much anymore.....
Anyway, it turns out that there is an impressive view here on the other side of the road that we have never looked at before, too busy concentrating on the dribble....
So dad grabbed the cache for a quick find and sign....it would be interesting getting this after big rain....

**# 23538** Found on a cooler day for a drive around while at Bright.
Today we tackled Mt Buffalo Rd and checked out all the scenery.
Hardly any muggles on bikes up here today thankfully. .
Mostly good safe hides and mainly quick finds.

As mentioned by HappyFeet 1, Buffalo and district, we had a lot of fun on a Power Trail series as well as other caches. Yes! Shame a series was archived, but I/We thank all CO's for placement/s.
With the weather hotting up, it was time to escape the heat and head for the hills for the weekend. OZREG and I, enjoyed grabbing a few up around the mountains, where I hadn't explored previously. We made some good discoveries, clever hides and had some real adventures, over the weekend and shared some fun and laughs along the way.
Having passed here many times, would never have realised that this little area was here. Made our way gingerly, into the obvious spot and made a quick find. Really enjoyed the cool water and view.
Thanks Jamin Appleford for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Another hot day in Albury soon saw us retreat to higher, much cooler ground. We discovered many new points of interest collecting these caches, some we had seen but never stopped to explore. Others were new to us. We did one side of the road on the way up and the opposite on the return. We noticed some old power, or telegraph lines at one point and it had us thinking what it would of been like here in its hay days when the Chalet was in full swing.

Day 2 of 3 of our little adventure in Bright. Started the day with the 5km Park run, followed by a breakfast roll in the bakery. Quick trip back to the cabin, quick change, more Equipment and off we set to explore some of mount buffalo and surrounds. Lots of shortish walks with the longes being 5km run, plus plenty of rock scrambling. Legs are totally stuffed now, and into Burgerville we went to smash a burger down which felt sooooo good, yummo! Thanks for the CO’s for today’s adventure.
Day 2 of the Gunks/Trailstevo weekend trek. Started up Buffalo. Took a bit of searching .TFTC
On our two month travelling trip through Austrialia, we are enjoying all the wonderful places and scenery. We will stop on the way to visit some nice caches as well. This one we could NOT find.

What gentle waters that flow here, nice to hear the water falling sound. Had a slippery walk over some rocks and water to reach this cache, but got there in the end. Thanks for putting a nice big cache here and what a great view down the valley. SL TFTC. Cheers. Left a few more swaps.
Great spot to stop and admire the granite. In the meantime, heading up for a late ski to Mt Buffalo as I missed the boat last year. Love Buffalo in winter. TFTC
Another quick grab on our way back down the mountain after a weekend camping trip with the Wackyweedos
Quick grab on our way back down the mountain after a superb weekend at Lake Catani with TheClazzas. Took a bit for gps to settle. MrsClazza danced across the wet mossy rocks before managing to balance herself & cross the slippery rocks safely. Grabbed pathtag. Eldest left some swaps. Tftc
We had planned this caching day on Mt Buffalo with Team BGF for company at the beginning of last week, and during the week more caches were published in this series along Mt Buffalo Road. We were really spoilt for choice! We were staying at Bright and the BGF Team were in Wangaratta area, and we met at Porepunkah to begin our day together. Descending the mountain with much less traffic makes it easier to pull off for caching. Even though it was not wet or winter today, the path to this one was still a little scary for our tired legs. SL at 5.25p.m Took: USA TB Left: vintage lady PT - maybe it was Guide Alice! #5235 TFTC Jamin
#3087 When you are concentrating on where the next cache is in this series, it certainly makes this windy trip up and down the mountain feel a lot quicker than it is . Wouldn't want to try and access this cache following some decent rains, that would be a bit scary. Dry as a bone today and no issue . TFTC JA. Discovered a TB here which Harrowang grabbed.
Apart from a hit and run on the Underground cache, it has been a while since BettyBoo3747 and I have driven up to the Mt Buffalo Plateau. A few new ones on the way up was just the incentive we needed. A lovely day for views, and it was nice to stop on the way up and admire them all (usually race straight up!)
We were expecting to see a big "A" or something at a place called The Font!
With a terrain of 2.5 we expected some scrambling, but this was not the case.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14222. Having spied some new caches published last week that happened to be on the road to Mt Buffalo and that seemed to be doable by ordinary caching folk, Robmc and I decided to make a day of it and head to the Buffalo. Another glorious Autumn day up here in the North East and all was right with the world as we enjoyed a great day collecting 14 caches with no DNF's. A nice start with 7 FTF's was a bonus indeed - we even found them after they had been published! Double Bonus!
**FTF** at 11.35am. We wondered at the name of this stop. Is the Font on the left or the right? We were so glad we didn't have to do a lot of rock scrambling here but found the cache without too much problem. Dropped in a TB from the USA here to enjoy some Australian
scenery.
Thanks Jamin Appleford
