Dayboro trip. Day 3. I was supposed to be in Port Macquarie, but could not because of the floods affecting the van parks. This did not stop me driving down from Waughope for a day around town caching. Plenty of evidence of the devastating floods, I think only one of my DNFs would have been caused by the floods. I was looking for a puzzle cache today, it took three trys, the first failed due to my ladder being too short. After a full day I did some shopping and then found time for logging after dinner in Waughope.

The GPS wanted me to head off into the bush, but I saw the bat give away and found a neatly hidden cache.

Had a suspicion of where it could have been but when we found it it was simply lying on the ground so we placed it back in a spot that looked like it could’ve been there. Very clever cache design! Tftc!

Found with the help of Mrs BillHill, doing some caching around the Port Macquarie area where we are staying for 3 nights. Coords not checked here sas the hint was all I needed, very nice.
Log signed and caches replaced as found.

Found it this time. No lid on container. Log initially fell out.

Our final full day in Port Macquarie, so some sightseeing and caching was the go. This was a straightforward cache once we got close to GZ.

I think I understand the hint, unfortunately the GPS was all over the place. Will come back when we re-look for Batman.

Re-attempted this one today, after a previous fail of geokids looking for a logbook in a homeless person’s bag!! Coordinates are about 10m out but was an easy find with help from the CO. Thanks Tatt

Arrived for the nearby Event a bit early so to fill in the time I went to look for a few nearby caches that have been on the radar for some time. Lucky I had miss Tatt2squared along for the ride, would have missed it completely. Love it, FP awarded.

A great area to go caching in and it is so great there are caches for us to find when we visit the Port. Such a scenic area. This was one we were able to find. Thankyou Tatt2squared for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area

We're in town for Dimorgans event to celebrate Australia Day. It's quite warm in Port and a lot warmer than where we live further up north.

We haven't cached along this path for ages and it's always a great walk.

The cache was found with excellent coords and we just loved the camo.

Decided to take nan and pop on a walk and find some caches before they headed home. Parked in a spot i had parked before and we headed off. this was the second cache of the day. we headed up from the path and my GPS was pointing into the scrub. stopped and had a quick search untill it pointed further on. Found the nice container. TFTC

Back out again in the Port Mac area to check out the Iron Man event and also look for a few further caches in the area. Naturally in parts of town it was muggle central while other parts were quiet and much easier. A lovely day again to be out and about.
We were challenged regularly today by the GPS gods but managed to come up with the goods even if search times were often quite lengthy.
We walked onto this one after completing Batman and enjoyed the short trip along the boardwalk checking out the changing vegetation and a few lizards.
Our approach however made the search a bit confusing for us as we approached the back of what we thought were houses.
Throwing caution aside we were able to make a quick find however.
We still lament how we manage to make caching harder than it could be though.

Bata bata bata bata girl...very funny

We were on a bike ride to find some last remaining unfound caches in Port. Hopefully there'll be more put out this way in the future so we can ride the excellent Googik track again but for now we had just two Heroes left in this direction .................. ............. there's a batgirl ?? We didn't know that.

We were glad the cache was placed here as it was very quiet.......next door on the other hand was bursting with excitable chatter and activity and even Batgirl wouldn't have stood a chance. Ha! there's no mistaking this cache! A clever cache container, TFTC Tatt2squared.

Only a few muggles around today and a few good hides. This was a good one too.

We have headed south a few weeks early to have a little holiday prior to attending the Oz Geomuster Mega event. We have found ourselves based in Port Macquarie for a few days which has enable us to spend some time exploring some of the nearby towns.

Today one of the local caching teams (DiMorgan) kindly offered to show us some of their favourite places around Port, and also to check out some of the flooding which had occurred with the recent heavy rains, as well as find a few caches while we were at it

We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.

Out driving around beautiful Port Macquarie with Just A Trifle who are in town for a few days on their way to the Mega. Stopped by this well known building where I have visited on a few occassions when my grandaughter was a guide.
Only using a phone today but we made a quick find here.

When this popped up we had to check the map to clarify its location, after that was cleared up, off we went.
Arrived at GZ and thankfully there was nobody around, while we were waiting for the GPS to settle down something caught our eye and on further inspection, bingo, cache in hand, nice work on the camo. FP given

We were waiting for these 2 new caches to come out and were hoping that they would be published before we headed off to Dorrigo for the weekend - and guess what! They came out before we headed off to Dorrigo for the weekend
A quick run to this one (had to be back home by 1.55pm to take c-pprass to the hairdresser) and a rush around a likely area that showed a distance on my GPSr of 0.00 metres! However nothing to be seen there, so I looked around and spotted a nice possible cache hiding spot - and there it was! A nice batgirl indicator staring me in the face.
Nice work with the insignia - deserves an FP.
