It wasnt the best day for a picnic, which meant we had the whole area to ourselves. From memory, we stopped here on our last visit, but there were too many muggles around. In the peace and quiet, the cache was in hand in no time.Cheers Jamin Appleford.
2 August 2024 16:42 dalerious and I found and signed these MBR's either going up or down the Mountain over the couple of wonderful days hiking and exploring this caching wonderland that is Mount Buffalo. This is our and your playground Jamin Appleford.
Snow day at Mt Buffalo - area good dusting last night so fun snow play. Even tried to snow as we headed back to the Chalet. Last one on the way home - thought this picnic area would be quiet today (in summer it is nuts) but one couple having lunch. Nabbed this whole they were preoccupied - glad wasnt too far in. Grabbed the geocoin as well.TFTC Jamin Appleford
A quick grab before the walk down to the falls. Fantastic location and perfect for a dip on a hot day.
We walked down to the waterfall and then found the cache on the way back in between passing muggles. Used my phone to see where the cache was as I don't like putting my hands in places and feeling around. Tftc
Another nice easy find. TFTC. I remember going to these falls before caching. Was a lovely spot in Summer. SL at 10:27am.
Niftynevau and I are out doing a gem race with Beyonderau App around the north east and seeing if we can get a couple of caches along the way
Found with cullum68 on our way to go bushwalking for the day. Thanks for the cache
Found with nissan65 on our way up to rhe high country bushwalking. Thanks for your contribution to geo caching
After 14 years of living in Albury, I have never ventured up this way. All up 14 caches, 1 DNF, a few not attempted, an adlab, and 10kms of hiking. All up a great day out finished with a pub meal on the way home. Tftc jamin.
Heading the the Mount Buffalo area today with Bogonghazy. Quick find. Thanks for placing the geocache
Heading to Mt Buffalo today with LittleBoss2. This was a quick find once again. Great coords, thanks JA
We are back up in the North East to visit family and enjoyed a trip out to Mt Buffalo while we are here.
It was quite hot and also really busy as to be expected for School Holidays.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to find here.

Today was my day up Mount Buffalo. It rained on and off so everything was wet while searching for the caches. Another MBR cache under my belt.
Many thanks to Jamin Appleford for the cache.
Many thanks to Jamin Appleford for the cache.
Quick stop on the way home. Coordinates had me closer to the picnic bench, but the obvious spot was inside the tree. Hunted around for a bit but didn't find the cache.
Glorious day up the mountain, spent all afternoon tobogganing with the kidlets. Toilet stop here on the way down, even though I'm sure I asked the kids if they needed to go at the top.. A nice area here that I've always just driven past. tftc!
Nice little spot to pause on our way back down.
Cheers Jamin Appleford, thanks for bringing us here.

While spending a few days in Myrtleford, we decided to head out to Mount Buffalo today to take the kids exploring and find a few caches along the way. After spending the majority of the day here, it was time to head back to Myrtleford, so we stopped and picked up a few caches in this series.

After a nice drenching over the last few days what else was there to do but go hunting waterfalls (and caches). After a good splash at the falls thanks to my children's desire to go for a swim in freezing cold water and my desire for them not to die my feet warmed up and we made it to the top and sat down before a quick little hunt for this nice hide. There were 5 signers but knowing geokids and geoteens, who knows how many will log it.
Thanks for the cache and I've still got plenty to go.

First of all, apologies for the very late logging - I am terrible with logging!
This trip was a reasonably local one given the state of border closures at the time. It turned out to be a great trip and an area we would probably never have come to without COVID. A stunning area that we will definitely be back to.
This was our second day trip up Mount Buffalo and the draw card this time was the Rollasons Falls which did not disappoint.
Thanks Jamin Appleford for placing and maintaining this cache.

Found on the way for a swim.
Mid April and I was just popping down to the local watering hole for a bit of a dip and well, I couldn't walk straight past this cache in search of another.
This day on Mt Buffalo, I went hiking, technical tree climbing/abseiling, swimming, bouldering, caving, sight seeing and a whole lot of exploring.
I will go on a maintainance run with this CO anytime the offer is extended again.
Thanks Jamin for the cache, the adventure, the tour and the day. [^]
With all the excitement of the day, I somehow let logging this one slip past me. Fixed.

Thanks for the cache, all looks to be in good order, pretty tricky to grab this one with all the traffic down to the falls.. but well worth the trip.

It had been a big day and the legs were starting to feel it after all the walking we had done so we started to head down the mountain but on the way we decided to find a few park N grabs in this series along the way.
All the caches were found fairly quickly and we then headed to the next.

After a great day up on Mount Buffalo hiking around and attending the celebration event, it was time to slowly head down and do some quick park and grabs before grabbing some dinner at the pub. With no real difficulty me manage to grab a handful more caches.
Thanks for the cache and bringing me out this way.

Hubby, geo dog Roxy and the eldest geo kid drove back home today. The rest of us are staying up here in Punkah for another 2 days as there is definitely no rush to get back with all the recent Covid outbreak. After getting up late and lounging around for most of the afternoon, it was decided we needed to get out and about into the wild and do some caching. Buffalo was our target. The weather was holding up nicely for us but as we neared closer and closer to the top, the weather was threatening and foggy. We were also on a mission to achieve our 800th find.
The weather was much better down here than further up the mountain. We could see the beautiful clear blue of the sky. The geo kids explored one area and then I heard screaming "Ahhhhh ouchhhhh ouchhhhh, get it of me, Ouchhhhhh!!!!! BULLANTS ! It was laying in ambush on a fern leaf and had attacked her finger. Oh how I know how their bites hurt. Today I didn't make the same mistakes of days gone by. Today I wore socks, hiking boots and long pants. 2 bites to the toes because I stupidly wore thongs those other times. It was not going to happen again today or any other day for that matter. Vicious little buggers.
Geo son and Babcia then made the find in another spot. It was an interesting find as we found 2 containers. The original cache container and a new one. So after a quick message to the CO, the matter was resolved by removing the most recent container so as not to create confusion here. The cache is not that hard to find but I can see how it can be overlooked if you don't look deep enough or move things around enough.
The cache and log was in good condition.
Thank you for the cache here Jamin Appleford

Either we're getting tired, and sick of bush bashing, or this was too good for us .
Coords has us searching in many odd and merry places! A previous log soon had the cache in hand. This was a high muggle area today so we had lots of time to take in our surroundings! We’ll be back to do the walk! TFTC!
Long weekend away for Mt Buffalo Challenge, Camping locally and supporting a group that ride up. We grabbed a few caches on the way to the Chalet.
Took a bit to find I think we found both original and secondary cache TFTC

We are staying in Bright for a few days with the MX-5 Car Club... and this mornings activity was a drive up Mount Buffalo. Although not a spirited as it could have been due to some very slow cars, we had a pleasant morning tea at Cresta. With the rest of the day free to do as we wanted, I took my time driving down... stopping for several caches as I went. The cache was my fourth stop... for a reasonably quick find... it was tucked well away in the corner of where you would expect to be and you just had to look a little harder. I grabbed the Trackable that was here.
Thanks **Jamin Appleford** for putting this cache here.

Not having much luck on mt buffalo. Right on the GPS looked in all the goid spots but still no luck. 3 DNF in a row
Continuing our way up the mountain, and we wheeled in here, and then watched all the pushbikes go past that we had just got around on the way up.
So dad got out and went to look for the cache, and got lead all over the shop by the GPS, eventually the Queen got tired of waiting and came out to look as well....and got lead around in circles by her GPS....
Well, long story short, we finally found it in the first obvious place we looked, we just looked better this time...
A quick sign of the log book, a drop of a TB, and we were back on the road.

Apparently bees find The Grand gCAV extremely attractive as we spent five minute repelling them after finding the cache [:o]

Today we tackled Mt Buffalo Rd and checked out all the scenery.
Hardly any muggles on bikes up here today thankfully. .
Mostly good safe hides and mainly quick finds.

As mentioned by HappyFeet 1, Buffalo and district, we had a lot of fun on a Power Trail series as well as other caches. Yes! Shame a series was archived, but I/We thank all CO's for placement/s.
With the weather hotting up and a nearby serieds calling to be found, it was time to hit the road with OZREG and grab a few down in the is area before heading for the hills. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
Stopped off at the carpark with no muggles about. The GPS was jumping all over the place. After looking at many options, we returned to the first place we had looked to find the container, after missing it on the first search. We will be back when we have more time but only need a few more to get to 100 finds today, so no time to linger.
Thanks Jamin Appleford for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Another hot day in Albury soon saw us retreat to higher, much cooler ground. We discovered many new points of interest collecting these caches, some we had seen but never stopped to explore. Others were new to us. We did one side of the road on the way up and the opposite on the return. We noticed some old power, or telegraph lines at one point and it had us thinking what it would of been like here in its hay days when the Chalet was in full swing.

Day 2 of 3 of our little adventure in Bright. Started the day with the 5km Park run, followed by a breakfast roll in the bakery. Quick trip back to the cabin, quick change, more Equipment and off we set to explore some of mount buffalo and surrounds. Lots of shortish walks with the longes being 5km run, plus plenty of rock scrambling. Legs are totally stuffed now, and into Burgerville we went to smash a burger down which felt sooooo good, yummo! Thanks for the CO’s for today’s adventure.
Day 2 of the Gunks/Trailstevo weekend trek. Started up Buffalo. Quick find.TFTC
On our two month travelling trip through Austrialia, we are enjoying all the wonderful places and scenery. We will stop on the way to visit some nice caches as well. This one we could find.

Found it! Another find on our long weekend away with Geokid 3 and her bestie Z. This one was a pretty easy grab but being the waterfall tragics we are we just couldn't not take the hike down to the falls themselves. We visited the upper falls first, what an awesome spot, the water was crystal clear and tasted ultra cool and fresh. Them we made our way down to the lower level and wow, how good is this spot! The kids had a wade about in the lower pool whilst the fish jumped for insects around them, we just sat and admired the upper pool, definitely a revisit in order on a warmer day, what a great spot, giving this cache a fav even though its a drive by just because of when it can lead if your up to a serious walk, coz after a cool down that hike up has the calves a hurting...TFTC...
Didn't make it to the falls as the cache was right at the start of the track in the picnic spot. Nice big cache which was easy to find despite heaps of muggles around. SL. TFTC. Left a few moew swaps. Next time we won't look for the cache we will just walk to the falls. Hope they are good to see. Cheers.
Cooling down on our way to Buffalo to do a snow walk. Decided to fill in the drive up with a few more caches. Found this one as I almost tripped over it as I stepped out of the car. Thanks Jamin
A short stop. In the meantime, heading up for a late ski to Mt Buffalo as I missed the boat last year. Love Buffalo in winter. TFTC
Up in Bright for the weekend and decided to take a bit of a drive up the mountain and take in the awesome views. We had a bit of lunch and then started the walk to the falls. We didn't make it all the way down with the little two year old, but a great time was had. TFTC!
Quick grab on our way back down the mountain after a weekend camping trip with the Wackyweedos
Quick grab on our way back down the mountain after a superb weekend at Lake Catani with TheClazzas. Found by youngest. We definitely need to come back & check out these falls in Summer. Tftc Ben.
Seeing it was going to be a nice riding day, BettyBoo3747, HowJen567 and I decided to take the deadly treadlies to Mount Buffalo and have a go at the 9 Mile Spur Trail. Unfortunately, when we arrived the lower half of the trail was closed due to Parks playing with matches. We cornered a Ranger in Dingley Dell, but he couldn't tell us when the trail might reopen.
So we walked the first two and amused ourselves with other MBR caches.
A very nice picnic area, we took our remaining sandwitches, and occupied a table.
HowJen and I sought out the cache before any of the walkers from the parked cars could return.
This was just as well as some did return just before we left.
No walk to the falls today.
Thanks, Robmc.

The conversation went something along the lines of you can look for one more cache. Well this was it. Unfortunately there seemed to be lots of people sitting in cars (which we ended up doing to), and a fair amount of waiting was required. Patience won out in the end and it was a quick find. TFTC!
We had planned this caching day on Mt Buffalo with Team BGF for company at the beginning of last week, and during the week more caches were published in this series along Mt Buffalo Road. We were really spoilt for choice! We were staying at Bright and the BGF Team were in Wangaratta area, and we met at Porepunkah to begin our day together. Another joint 2nd TF at a popular spot this Easter morning. Most of the vehicles were empty and the only person present was too far away to notice our activities. SL at 10.50am Left: Obey geocoin. #5226 TFTC Jamin
#3078 Lots of muggle cars here but fortunately for us all the muggles were obviously down at the falls. So it was no issue to concentrate on the search for the cache with Harrowang stress free. Good coords led to a nice quick find. TFTC JA.
#14237. Well what do you know? Just had a second visit to Mount Buffalo in a few days. Why you might ask? Chasing FTF's of course. Here I was walking on the golf course with the geo-dogs when Ping,Ping,Ping emails started to come in. Oh no - more caches placed in the MBR series plus a few others.
Raced home and thought about things for a short while, after all I have things to do and I am heading to Melbourne and Tasmania on Thursday - did a cache grab into GSAK, loaded the GPS and off I went to get petrol and away. The slowest drive to Porepunkah in history but what can you do but sit in line and curse under your breath for the whole trip.
A nice few hours and 5 FTF's - left the ones further afield for another time. The was a nice surprise - look at all those picnic tables and a BBQ and the start of a couple of walking tracks. Will have to explore further when I come back with Robmc. Found this one without too much bother. These are great containers and I like your artwork on the outside. **FTF** and signed log at 3.40pm. It is a long trek from here to the Tuckerbox so off we go.
Thanks Jamin Appleford
