Out and about on an adventure with Mrs NZT. We managed to miss this one on the first pass due to the prickles but once we got past them it was easy. The cache was surprisingly big and very bright. Thanks for the cache.
I suggested to Keylev that we do a day trip to Puhoi to do a little caching, so we came up nice and early to avoid the worst of the heat and after completing a few finds in Puhoi came up this road less travelled and at GZ I missed the cache on the first attempt, too busy trying to avoid prickles, luckily Keylev's eyes were a little sharper. TFTC!
We made our way up to gz after our morning coffee in Puhoi. There are several slips on the road leading to gz from the recent storms, so the road is very narrow and down to one lane in places. Once we were at gz, one of us braved the brambles to find the cache. Nice quick find of the bright container. We stopped to check out the great views on this stunning autumnal day. TFTC
Thank you this is so cool I grew up in the house right next to this, with the beehives it’s cool to do on a walk.
I was heading to Mahurangi with Nette1234 and had noticed this unfound trad amongst my smiley faces so made a wee detour to collect this easy peasy cache. The log was wet and mushy so Nette replaced it.
The difficulty should be a bit higher now that thorns have taken over GZ. The log paper is having issues. Let me tell you about it in song...
Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the log of the poor lemon is impossible to sign.
TFTC.

Grabbed a photo of the view, and on the way back had to dodge a car and a logging truck. So a busy road today, then tailed a logging truck back onto the main road. Cute cache

I'm up in Whangarei visiting my parents for one last time before I head over to the UK for the foreseeable future - however they are currently on their last leg of their south island tour, so actually aren't home at the moment, so I've got some time on my hands.
Woke up early this morning and after a quick look out of window into the darkness at the weather, I decided that I would head down Waiwera/Kaukapakapa way, to collect some caches in the Route 66 series. I solved the Route 66 series at least two years ago now and haven't had the opportunity to collect as I've always been in a hurry to get to the parents' place in Whangarei.
Another quick find here and a break away from the Route 66 series. It really was easy peasy lemon squeezy. TFTC

Wow lovely view from up here. It's nice seeing the Waiwera bridge from a new angle.
Yay !
Every time I travel North I see this tantalisingly off to the side .....But I realised it would be a destination in itself
Today was an unexpected day off .....So decided to come here !
There sure are lovely views in the back of Upper Waiwera ; Noakes Hill and Green Hollows Road. Kept stopping for photo opportunities .
Will add photos when C :Geo Is behaving itself...
Cracked up when I found the container. All good here thanks kiwiscot19

Well what a great Christmas New Years we have had so far it all started off in Friendly Feilding have Christmas lunch with the family then next day Boxing day off to Danniverke for a weeks holiday together so special first holiday with the Grandson hes only 7 months old, then we didn't know what or where to go next so ended up going to Napier and then across the Napier Taupo road got a cache and a trackable, not easy to stop all the time with a large caravan on the back. We finally got to Taupo and said where to now so we kept going and then we got a text message some plans next week had been transferred to the end of January so we could go away for an extra week. We ended up in Walton Gold course for two nights to finish off the Kiwi and another puzzle series got 46 caches in total some were traditionals as well, got that sorted and then headed off today decided we would do the Route 66 trail and Smilie trail so we ended up in Orewa so we are here for a few nights. We set off this morning and completed the Route 66 series had some lunch about 1.30pm then we decided to get some more traditionals in the area and then slowly head off to get some smilie series caches. we found this cache at 12pm signed the log and placed the cache back where we found it. thank you for placing a puzzle cache here. great series cache number 30 for the day thank you for putting a traditionalin the mix keeps us thinking. Heading north for caching today and figured a detour around the back of Puhoi was warranted to find this cache. The unsealed road reminded me of our recent excursion to Niue with all the pot holes but negotiated my way past them. No problems in locating the cache. Cheers
Easy drive up from Puhoi today, can't see to much of the view with all the low cloud, but the weather is starting to clear, neat container, cheers
Nice weather forecast for today, after some weeks of mostly rain/wind/cold/grey, so I decided to go geocaching. The family has been difficult to tempt into making the next segment of the route 66 caches a weekend outing, so this was the perfect opportunity.
I had planned a ~25km walk, but before I got to my intended parking spot I found a part of the road blocked. - 5 cahces are unavailable (#35-#53) during working hours the next half year, was my impression. (? Dont take my word for it)
So I ended up with more shorter walks, and more caching by car. Ah well, a nice trip anyway.
Result was 25 Route 66 caches found, 1 dnf (#24) and 4 bonus trads picked up on the way.
Wonderful terrain to get to know. Great maintenance! Thanks.

#5587. I have flown back up to Auckland for several days to present a talk. Since I have come this far I have added some annual leave to the trip and hired a car so I can grab some geocaches. Decided today to head up north and start gathering up some of the Route 66 caches which I solved on the weekend. Ended up being a better day than expected with 57 caches found plus a few DNF's. Cache was quickly found and soon squeezed out the logbook. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache kiwiscot19.

We saw this released only days ago. A joint 2nd to find for me and Geocchi. Cool cache container. Some nasty wasty thorns in here from a wild feral rose. Tftc
With a late start to the work day today I decided to have a go at the first to find on this as yet unlogged hide. I made my way up the Northern motorway and then entered the rural back roads of Auckland. I managed to park up just across the road from GZ. I quickly crossed over and executed a super quick find. Yes, watch out for the thorns! The blank log sheet confirmed the first to find (FTF). Cheers for the cache placement!
