Logs
The drive back to Brisbane was very much a long one and a wet one. We managed to stop off at a few on the way home just to have a break from the drive, as we had collected a fair few on the way up, the stops were very selective. The rain and the sprays from the trucks did put a serious film on the windscreen to which meant we had to stop and clean a couple of times. We were making good time even with the stops and the rain. We planned to meet up with Granny in rocky so it was just a few along the way and cleaning up bottles and cans along the road side where we stopped. However I did have a couple of target caches for a particular purpose. This was a nice find in the rain today. Logs were signed and all caches were replaced as found, thanks for the hides and the fun we had here today.
We are in the Sarina area today chasing . This is to be our furtherest away one for the day. We rocked this fine in
Quick find chasing countries on our way to Airlie Beach with my sister. Been a lovely drive.Time to visit Qld again. Up visiting family and doing some small road trips. Thanks for getting me out and about coral.sea.cat

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 108. Mackay to Clairview via Sarina. I am heading south slowly and spent the long morning caching along the Bruce Highway and in Sarina. Apart from a few failed tree caches, I had a great day with some interesting locations visited. It is all the more entertaining doing it with a van, and sometimes this means longer walks or skipped caches.
Most of the days caches were quick rad side stops. No problems here today.

This geocache was found on a massive drive back from the MEGA event in Townsville to Melbourne. Did the drive with my muggle wife and half/half son. Whilst the family were in tow it was difficult to geocache, but I still managed some as rest stops on the drive.
Day 2 - From Mackay to Rockhampton.
A nice easy find after a short detour. Thanks for placing!

TFTC. We are making our way to Townsville for the Mega at Easter. As we make our way up we are stopping to find caches between our overnight stops. Always good to stop to stretch our legs. And find a cache as well.
Tricky find had circled the tree several times then spotted the camouflaged hide.

On our drive north, this was a good break along the way. We pulled up not too far from GZ and after some searching found what we were seeking which blended in very well.

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks coral.sea.cat (F=2562 H=61) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

This one was recognised for its shape eventually as its colour was changed by it's surroundings. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Day 2 in the area with micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 picking up a few caches while slowly working our way to the Queensland Mega and today we targeted the letterbox series for a challenge down in Melbourne that we all want to get and these will help s qualify.
After grabbing the Adventure Lab All the big things stage in Sabrina we decided to try our luck with the VC series.
The cache pages for these recipients were fantastic and we were happy that they were spaced a good distance apart so that Diane could read the information as we were travelling between them and this made the journey really enjoyable.
We are ashamed to say that we didn't know there were so many VC winners, these were truly brave and gallant servicemen to do what they did.
Again we apologise for the generic log. When you do so many caches in such a short time frame it's hard to keep track of each one but we do really appreciate the amount of effort, time and expense creating this great recognition trail.
Many thanks geocaching_mackay for putting this all together.
Found it during some Sunday arvo serendipity! Lots of ants in the cache had to get rid of them first! Found BFE style TFTC
A quick find this morning during my Sarina stop over.

So busy looking at the cane train depot opposite we almost missed the turn here. A nice quick find in a logical spot.
Day 1 in Koumala, so we decided to mix some sightseeing with caching to see where it took us. First we headed to Sabrina, where we got to see the huge railway yards, we guess is the base for the coal trains we have seen going backwards and forwards. Then it was a short trip around town including the big cane toad and then off out to the coast. There was some magnificent scenery and a chance to see how big the tides can be. They were out for most of our touring. A few great lookouts and then return to our caravan. An enjoyable and satisfying day.
Thank you to all the local COs for the tour and developing and maintaining the caches.

We had a pretty long day today caching with Rainforest Cookie and Tmac. We started on the Letterbox trail and then branched out in quite a few directions on a caching/sightseeing tour of the area.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache pretty close to where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards

Inevitably on a long trip when many geocaches are being found, some get missed. Unfortunately, at the time, this was one of them. So, although out of chronological order, I am logging them today for simplicity. So my apologies for the generic log and the out of date sequence.
Our trip commenced on Friday November 28th and concluded on Tuesday December 22nd. During that time, we visited caches in Maryborough, Childers, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Sarina, Mackay, Bowen, Townsville and Cairns, with other places in between like Proserpine, Home Hill, Ayr, Ingham to name just a few, with many wonderful single stop caches along the way.
Our party consisted of myself, hatzofff, grannysmith1947, and on occasion, youngoldfella.
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC, coral.sea.cat.

Apologies for simple logs as I have a lot to do. Good safe off road parking here and it was only a short walk to GZ and a quick find. TFTC coral.sea.cat
Heading north with our caravan we enjoyed having this cache to find. Thanks.
We were travelling from Moreton Bay to Townsville for a short holiday. Spent a nice time up here. Now we are in our way back home, stopping for caches suitable for a car with caravan behind.
We missed this one on going North - now we got a smilie as way point.

Nice quick find as we travel south towards home on this new years day. Happy New year's everyone and tftc! Escaped the ant infestation but then wrote the wrong date, takes a while to get used to writing 2020.
On a quick trip down the coast for a rugby game I thought I'd pick of a few caches on the way.

Found by Mary and David at 15:30. And we did! Good to have clear parking instructions for both directions. Loving the sunshine after leaving cool, grey and damp Melbourne more than 3 weeks ago. So much greener here then along our route through NSW and central Queensland. Cane cutting was under way not too far away. Our thanks to coral.sea.cat.
Passing through the area with the geovan in tow, we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
Log book was mouldy and damp.
Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

We did not think at first that we were going to be able to pull off here but no worries, all done. Hubby turned the caravan around while I headed for the cache all done and back on the road in a flash. SL TFTC
