Last time I looked for this one I had to walk away empty handed after a long search. Back today with time to spend. Thankfully the cache was found. Sadly the log was so wet I was not able to sign. Photod and spoke to CO about it later in the day at an event. Thank you for the cache.
A little busy here this morning. Got to GZ & was very worried. After a few rounds eventually buzzybb said the magic words, log was very wet. Messaged CO. Fav point for a cool hide. Tftc
Solved this puzzle with kimbathelion a while back. Finally had the chance to look for it today. We both went around and around looking, we’re about to give up when something caught my eye. Tftc
Id solved a few puzzles in the area the first night we arrived so made sure to pick a couple up before heading off today.
As i approached gz i had that oh no feeling, as this kind of hiding place has been my nemesis a number of times before - it can be a bit of a needle in a haystack!
I tried to find it when I first arrived, but was having no luck, so went to find some other caches. However, I thought I'd give it a second go, and whilst it still took quite a while, perseverance paid off and I finally found it.
Then I found myself singing this great song to myself as I made my way back to mission control.
Thanks for setting this up

Got the puzzle solved without too many problems but , even with two of us looking, failed to spot the cache. Too many hiding places foiled us.
Somehow this was one of those solved where I had a good idea of what to do fairly quickly. This is rare as usually spend months banging away at these puzzles.
Don’t often get out this way. Looked and looked for this. Round and round. Then eventually just spied something and made the retrieval.
Nice work. Good puzzle.

Nice work. Good puzzle.
Got the solve thanks to Rowdogg's nerdy ways. Wasnt too hard once i knew what to do. Got to gz before a massive family arrived to enjoy the sun and water. Dried out the log before sneaking it back to its hideyhole.
Good puzzle on this one. Got the idea off to solve this off some stuff I learned recently. Log was quite damp so we sat it in the sun for 5m. May need a snaplock bag for the log as the tube doesn't seem to be quite keeping the elements out.

As we approached GZ we noted some muggles sitting nearby, we would be unable to collect the cache without them being aware of our presence - we had already made one sweep pass and they looked in no hurry to move. Not something we normally do, but we made the decision to tell them what we were wanting to do and if they would object. We received an enthusiastic response from one muggle, who had only just finished reading a book which the main characters were into Geocaching so was fascinated to find actual Geocachers wanting to search nearby. Fortunately Mr Geckoh, who was on form today, located the cache quickly and the muggles were as impressed as we were with the camo. We wished them well with their day and headed off. Maybe we have made new recruits!! Thanks for a great puzzle (David Bowie is still quite popular in our family) TFTPC

On our way back to Whangarei after a few days caching in Tauranga, trying to pick up as many of the solved puzzles and special caches as possible from my list. The weather today was the best we have had this trip, but that's Murphy's Law, isn't it.
This puzzle was a bit tricky, but quite pleased to work it out without any hints or help.
A side trip out to Omokoroa was then required and a short walk to GZ, where the hide location was soon discovered. Uh oh..., this could take a while, having learnt how devious some of the COs hides have been. Luckily though, this one wasn't quite so tricky and I got lucky with the angle I was looking and spotted it quite soon. Signed the log and replaced safe and secure as found.. TFTC

Out for a caching trip for the weekend with Bennett24 and this was one of his "must gets" due to its intriguing DT rating. Sadly I was very much the passenger here (although driver) for this as he did the solving and finding). Muggles were nearby so Albert the Geohound provided sniffy cover while the cache was recovered and found. Previous logs were most helpful for this one.
All good here and thanks for the cache - this bay is lovely.

Solved this puzzle not too long before out weekend in Tauranga, must say I had looked at it several times in the past and was trying to over-complicate it as per usual procedure with high D rated puzzles. Was curious to see what we would find at the final and was expecting a challenge.
Very nice area for a walk with Tuolei and Albert we found GZ and knew this could lead to quite a long search; in the end though it was found quite quickly as it seems that quite a bit of the camo is no longer in place.
Thanks for the puzzle and cache placement in an area well worth a visit.

A lovely mornings walk to break in the new year with the family. Once at GZ it was a nice quick find and an easy reach for the tallest member of the team. Not too taxing a solve this one as everything came together with ease for once! TFTPC!
I found this one with the help of my mummy and daddy on a hot and sunny day. I watched from my pushchair while my daddy grabbed it and signed the log for us.
Heading to Tauranga with Merlot58 for a daytrip, we detoured to Omokoroa to visit a friend. It was a stunning Summers day and we needed to stretch our legs before continuing our car journey. We had some help in solving this tricky puzzle, which we wanted to collect while in the area. Lucky we had a "monkey" with us who was able to retrieve the cache and sign us in.
Another tricky puzzle but once I figured out what needed to be done I soon managed a green tick. In the area today with the Jags which is just as well as our 'monkey' was soon able to retrieve the cache
Sorry, again i have no recollection (or cache note) of the puzzle solve. Our second find on a cruisy kid-friendly and dog-friendly caching mission. Some kids were nearby but we were out if sight and bellbox quickly spotted another well crafted cache. The kids didn’t help solve but really wanted to be involved and log the finds.
Tftc and puzzle.

Since the weather was improving we decided to make a trip to Tauranga for an extended weekend so we could pick up the caches on our growing solved puzzle list.
This cache was one of a handful that we managed to find before it was time to go to the August Get Together event. The puzzle was quickly solved, as we had immediately realised what we needed to do. Once at GZ we initially started our search from the wrong side, but once one of us tried the other side, the container was soon spotted. This is a lovely place for a walk. Thanks for another enjoyable puzzle.

Tonight was only planned earlier in the week when the weather looked to be fantastic for a little detour to the BOP.
So in the company of kiwis69, HKCB & 11HPG11 we set off from home at approx 6pm and made it back home at 4am with only rain for about the first hours of the nights adventure.
There were quite a number of different caches collected in the progression acrodd the countryside as we were all working to collect some more caches all of course for the "Hidden creatures" challenge for the month.
Some of us had made great inroads to this and with only a few days to go I need all that I can as always a late starter.
Thanks to all the CO's for their caches and maintaining their caches

A few of us managed to get a leave pass for tonight, as the numbers for the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. So after a quick call around Kiwis69, 11HPG11, Cats&Dragons and myself decided another night assault in and around Tauranga was a good idea. The general plan was to start at the Southern end and work our way North, and hopefully be home in time to get at least a few hours sleep.
With the rain easing a few hours into the trip the night turned out to be rather successful with all caches attempted being found, for a grand total of 22 to add to the creatures tally. A big thanks to the CO for the hides.
Got lucky solving this one, the first thing I tried gave me the right coords. Last cache for the night, and one that didn't take to long to spot. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

Out and about on a Friday night/early Saturday morning mission to collect some more caches and work our way closer to some more hidden creatures. Tonight our group consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB and kiwis69. Signed logs as HOAC or with our names where space permitted.
The others made their way through this puzzle a lot faster than I had. Another spot that was rather nice to visit at night, nice stars and great view. A bit worried when I saw where we needed to search but luckily it wasn't long before the cache was found. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

Out on a nocturnal mission with 11hpg11, cats&dragons & HKCB to grab some caches towards the “hidden creatures’ challenge ... unlike our northern hemisphere counterparts, we’re contending with winter and long dark nights but, heh, that just adds to the challenge! We started early evening in fairly heavy rain, wondering about our sanity, but thankfully the weather has improved and we're now having a lot of fun dashing about the BOP on a star-light night.
Solved this one shortly after publication: when it comes to puzzles, I either seem to know how to solve or I really struggle to find the right path through the maze - thankfully, this was one where I got onto what was required quickly. It was good to be here at night and hence less likelihood of prying muggle eyes, although can be tricky to spot dark containers at night - thankfully it wasn't too long before the find on this one, cache all good, log signed & replaced, thanks for the fun puzzle, TFTC

A most enjoyable puzzle thank you, nicely executed. Great to be out and about at Omokoroa today, with the harbour looking so picturesque. Thanks for the puzzle, and the cache .
We'd assembled the team for another assault on the Coromandel today - my favourite part of the country and this was our last cache on the way home. The puzzles red herrings didn't have me fooled for long and eventually I was well on my way to a quick solve. But it wasn't working... I checked my theory with FBC (the only finder at the time) who assured me it should have worked. Turns out I'd started off on the wrong foot so to speak. I had the coords after a quick switch-a-roo GZ was straight forward and with 6 pairs of eyes searching we soon had it sorted. Cheers Macwatt, TFTC

On our way home from an amazing and long day of caching in the Coromandel, I awoke to find the car had stopped and we were off to pick up this cache. It was only a slight detour I guess. I joined in with torch in hand to find this clever puzzle cache.
The last time I was in this area, I had a hunch that another cache would be placed out here, so I was expecting to re-visit this place.
After ignoring the puzzle for a few days, the puzzle had me fooled for only a short time and I knew I had the right coordinates without the need of the geochecker.
The cache was hidden in a great location and had it not been the middle of the night, or close to, I would have taken a few more pics of the area.
Thanks for the brain workout and bringing me back out here.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), McJandals, NZFlossy, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro... Another mission into Coromandel. The plan for today was to clear out Cooks Beach and Hahei...
We were on a weekend cache mission when this puzzle was published. Quick scrutiny of the cache description revealed some interesting leads, but we needed room to stretch out and pursue some ideas. The solve had to wait until we were home. The concept proved to be one we were familiar with... Heading home from a day in Coromandel, the Team decided to stop in and sign this one off. A short walk to ground zone and a fumble in the day is all it took to complete the business. TFTP and TFTC.

Today was a group assault on the Cooks and Hot Water Beach areas.
Along with Squirrel Nutcase. McJandal, NZ Flossy, Phillip Perry, TNXPRO and myself.
Left home just after 7am and our first stop was Waihi to collect 2 caches.
Opted to travel to Cooks Beach and work backwards home.
Never cached in this area but some of the group have.
Mixed bag of near drive bys, good walks and amazing scenery.
We also we had a couple of each caches to visit, in particular Cathedral Cove.
Lots of muggles today but guess there would be a lot more in the summer time.
Great day of caching
Good fish & chips at Cooks Beach for lunch and good Pizza at Waihi for dinner.
Thanks to the cache owners for caches we found today. SLTFTC

On the way home from a great day caching up the Coromandel with part of Team BOP. I have to confess I was having a nap in the back seat as the night was getting late but I was wide awake on the where cool walk to GZ. It was good to have a few eyes looking for the cache and it was soon signed. When the cache first came out I thought it look really difficult but I should have known not to over think it. After a nudge I was rewarded with the green tick Thanks again to the COs for another great cache and filling my head with a certain tune. TFTPC
Was away when this came out and couldnt wait to get home to print this one off. Had it sorted pretty quickly, (after a lil nudge). After being out this way this morning and spending a bit of time wandering around Katikati decided to pop in here on way home. Im glad I had my gumboots on!! Got to GZ and circled around a few times, poked my cheek with a branch, then saw the cleverly disguised rocket!! Many Thanks, cheers.
I can't seem to go caching these days without a song going around my head. This was a very odd space but I quickly recognised a space capsule identification issue posed as a propulsion dichotomy. Forewarned is forearmed, as my Dad's Royal Observer Corps badge used to say, so I came equipped with wellies, which were useful. I checked the landing site a couple of times then checked my pre-launch information, which led to a Stranglers song going around my head. With this in mind, my next check located what seemed to be an artefact of alien origin, complete with Roswell passenger. All was completed to the accompaniment of a beautiful sunset over the harbour. TFTC. I would write more but a black car just pulled up and two men in dark suits and sunglasses are heading my way.....
We had a trip to this area in the RV planned, so a quick solve was required. Got to GZ and decided after all the rain, we could have done with a boat, or maybe rocket propelled boots. David Bowie did not have to put up with wet socks, when he went on his trips to space.
Thanks McW and KL

I got the notification that I would be auditing Aerospace engineering. At first I was slightly confused but soon figured out what they were talking about. I then took the exam which was straight forward and given the green light to fuel up and blast off.
Once I got to the crash site I had to think what do I know about the other engineer. Once I got that out of the way I was up and away to find the space junk and the log.
Awesome theme and such fun....
Come on DC its not too hard
