So many muggles around! A mob of at least 30 kangaroos insisted on grazing around GZ. Great to watch them. Now we have to find out which homestead used to be here.TFTC( bit wet btw!)
Interesting area, would love to see a photo of the homestead that was once here.Big mob of roos guarding the cache.Very wet. Left a new piece of paper for log in a plastic bag.
What? No bonus number? That's the second one! It's a strange grassy area with lots of kangaroos. It looks like part of an abandoned garden.
Thanks brother for getting me back into geocaching I will never forget my first find.
#117 27/04/2024 @9:53pmA nice off track hike to get this one.Cache contents are very waterlogged and damaged
Quick find however the cache has some resident snails and it looks like it has gotten wet; its all a little damp and may need some attention at some point soon! TFTC
A beautiful mob of muggle rooooos sunbathing! Glories day for it. Mint location
Out and about today grabbing a few caches trying to complete the wheel of challenges. Found it in good order TFTC
Number 11 for the day, and the wildlife came out in force: a huge flock of currawongs foraging on the ground near a mob of kangaroos. As I made my way up to GZ, I spotted a fox as well, but it slunk away, clearly feeling guilty about its feral status. There were also some feral plants making a nuisance of themselves, but I eventually found the best approach to GZ and had the rather damp cache in hand (I suspect coffee jars don't actually seal quite well enough to be an optimal choice for this job). Thanks Ron.haha.
Morning stroll exploring Plenty Gorge. A pleasant suprise. Trails everywhere I had a great time exploring and caching.
TwoEms were driving home when we glimpsed the cityscape over the grassy wilderness near Goldsworthy Lane. We were tired from our earlier adventure, but decided we could afford a quick interlude at the edge of the park just to take in this contrasting view. It was a few steps in, and then a few more, and then—before we knew it—we were drawn further and further into Plenty Gorge.
We stumbled upon a path leading to an abandoned entrance made of stone pillars with broken lamps and black iron gates. Distracted by this curiosity, we walked through and found some wrens playing in a retired letterbox in one of the pillars. The path continued to what looked like an unkept garden bordered by a few purple Agapanthus in bloom. ‘What is this place?’, we wondered—and we were lured deeper into this mystery.
The path became lost and overgrown with long dry grass and thick green ground cover—at which point we wondered if we should even be here—but before we turned back, we eyed some bright rose coloured flowers growing in what may have once been a cottage garden. We focused through our phones to take some pictures of these hot pink beauties when we noticed in the frame there was someone in the distance staring straight back at us—Oh! We were being watched!
After getting in this deep, it was then that we decided to push on through our second wind and to see if there were any hides around. We backtracked and found another path to take us there in a roundabout yet gentler way. We found the jar filled with water and were amused by its own ecosystem of swaps going on inside. We signed and drained it best we could before packing it up and then heading home. Thank you for the cache.

Middle of no where ahah great spot though must be pretty unlucky to see a muggle around here
Found this during a nice walk around this awesome area today. After finding 5 other ones in the way out I pulled and walked to this location and found it...Nice views of the cbd from nearby this cache.
I'd noticed the old gates as I walked in from Goldsworthy Lane and to me they don't even look that old. Maybe 90's? 00's even? GZ was down where the house must have been, but unlike Happy Hallow there's no plaque here. There are good views though. Thanks Ron.haha
An easy find in the end despite the pictured muggles hopping to it. . Added a log page on as log seems to be missing
So this is an interesting area... made my way up from lower dam to this one and walked passed several kangaroos that weren't too fussed with me wandering through , at gz I found the cache from the clue, unfortunately logbook is beyond saving, sitting in water, so placed cache back and took note of my surroundings... hmmm this looks like the outskirts of a old property... the unkept hedge gave it away, so I explored further and realised I was walking on the old driveway, passed what used to be a nice country garden which then led to abounded gates. I wonder what the home would have looked like? It's long gone now, in its place is long grass, nettles and jonquils starting to bloom.
Found it! A nice place of the walking track with not many muggles, crafty spot. Thanks!

Found with gypsyj. We live around here but have never really explored whats literally on our doorstep. Container had tiny bit of water in it. Emptied and dried it. TFTC.
I'm not a fan of long grass. Even frmen1 walked gingerly through (we realised that we'd left our snake bite kit in the other car). Container has condensation in it. Dried it a bit. TFTC
Found with tassie expat while exploring this nice area. Thanks for the walk and cacje.
Picked this cache up while doing a loop of the northern side of Plenty Gorge.
Saw plenty of stumps, plenty of caches, plenty of butterflies, plenty of kangaroos and a solidarity echidna. Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful place.

I found this cache on my Plenty Gorge Hiking Day. I walked from the Earthcache and started at this one as it seemed to be the best access point for the ones on this side. I really enjoyed seeing the gates on route that gave the impression that something very posh used to stand on this land. Once at the cache, there were a lot of things that fitted the hint and I had worked my way right around to the last one before I spotted the cache. Thanks from D B-A
Saw a glorious mob of Roos! Cache had some water inside. Cleaned it as best as we could.
Easy find at 10:27am while waiting for a medical appt. Nice secluded place away from the world and the virus for a bit. Nice hide and a good location to hide it in.
Awesome spot, needs a new pencil, couldnt sign cause i dropped my pen on the way in
Last one for the day. I have had a great walking around today. it’s been awesome thank you
On this cool and wintry winter's day I enjoyed a delightful day of walking and photographing and geocaching in this very special place. Given I found quite a few caches on the day and given that day was now, like, four weeks ago and I am only now catching up on my outstanding draft logs, they are all going to be pretty generic. Sorry. I did enjoy them all though and am very grateful to the rather wonderful COs who placed them.

Accompanied with silence49, we had a great time finding your cache
Ron.haha, thank you so much for placing it.

Great hide the contents are moist the log perfect though could be condensation. Does anyone know where the old mansion was ? The gates are still there though
Out with icw, we found a substantial arachnid, pic attached, near the cache. Apart from the Huntsman I've never seen a spider this big. It doesn't appear in my book on Melbourne's wildlife, so I can't identify it. Tftc.
Tricky find this one - but got it! Nicely hidden indeed. Contents a bit wet and dirty but logbook ok and dry!
Fands with grandkids. Went through lots of prickly bushes but eventually found it.️
A day in the gorge while dog sitting in Ivanhoe. Much closer than Bacchus Marsh.
Great co-ords led to the unusual hide without any trouble and yes it was well hidden.
Thanks Ron.haha

Great spot, I found the cache out in the open so I placed it in the most likely spot.

Found it. Defs wouldnt do in the peak of summer. Very thick brush around it
Going for a walk with my friend exploring the beautiful area. Great caches thank you. Lid was taken off so contents were soggy
At the GZ I retrieved the container and moved back a few steps to open it and sign the log.
When I went to replace the cache, an echidna had nestled himself (or herself) in the exact spot the cache was in.
It took a while before he/she moved up a bit so I replace the cache.
Thanks for the cache Ron.haha

Beautiful cool day for a stroll in the park. Cache was open and on the ground, not hidden. Reassembled and replaced in the obvious place.
dreadfully behind on logs. This is a catch up logging session. Found with SirJ-Oz when he dragged me around for a walk!
Thanks for the cache Ron.haha.
