No luck for us. Lots of tree chopped down where the steps have taken us, it may need to be checked.
Very great find. Apart from the fact my dad got a stick in his foot. Even found a travel bug
3 January 2021 19:36. Borrowed mums ebike after dinner to visit the 2 caches here. Bit of a bother to push it up the hill, but I didn't want to leave it unattended. Explored this neat little reserve, then found the cache. TFTC. Number 8981 for me.
After a early start to day we walked from Ngaruawahia to Hamilton as part of the Te Araroa and got the 20 km walk done in 4 hrs so after a few stops to get resupply thing for the next leg of my adventure and got to camp .

Came up here to get the virtual and spotted this one - such a nice idea for a simple multi and was surprised just how easy it was to work out what was required. Took the stroll across to the obvious spot for the cache and made the find very easily.
Nice original logbook that was very interesting even if the cache is rather "newer". Lots of familiar names in the book - thanks for the cache, alll good here.

Out and about with Team Welsh - having a sisters' break in the Waikato - such fun. T4tc
That was a fun cache to do, geosense won the day here and the cache was soon in hand. Completed the nearby virtual at the same time. TFTC
Heading south today with Team Gold ( 0B80B8, Lis's Crew & DaffyNZ ), from Northland to do a weekend caching trip in the Waikato, with the main objective being the Hakarimata Trail.
With the weather not that great today, we delayed the walk till tomorrow and did some other local caches instead. This one was nice and handy, so was definitely on the list and a nice quick find while doing the nearby virtual. TFTC

I'm down in the Hamilton area from Paihia for a geocaching weekend with team G0LD: Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ. They're going to walk the Hakarimata track on Sunday. I got shin splints training for the walk so unfortunately I can't join them.
We picked up a few caches yesterday on the way down. Today's weather forecast wasn't good so the big walk so it was postponed until tomorrow. Our main aim for today is the Waikato River walk series.
My brother in law lives nearby in Ashurst Rd so this was our first stop for the day. I always like virtuals and a multi at the same location was a cool bonus. We quickly figured out where the hide was and made a fast find at gz, thanks

Quick find while out with team Gold, gathering a few Waikato caches while we are here from Northland.
Finished work at 7am, watched the PM's Press Conference on the White Island eruption before leaving and heading out for some caches. Hadn't been here before so it was a great spot to start caching for the day.
An incredible fluke or spot on coordinates had me where I needed to be to find the cache. Gorgeous location especially on such a fine sunny morning.
Fav awarded for this hidden gem.

Came up here to do the virtual and whilst up here found this cache as well. Not the first time we've come here for a cache.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Finally got this one. My 2nd look. In the area for the virtual. Process of elimination got it this time. Tftc
I was here for the virtual, so I had to do this one, too. I went in the right direction to the wrong type of tree, but found the cache anyways. I'm confused. TFTC.

Over this side of town and decided to look for this one today. An interesting multi that doesn't take long and is in a beautiful little reserve. TFTC
.On an adventure in Hamilton with Supernanny and Jag50. We had just bumped into Boges at the nearby virtual and after a chat we came to do this multi which is the type of multi I like, quick and easy and Supernanny found it in the first place she looked.
Here today with merlot58 and Jag50 to do the Virtual....so naturally did this as we were nearby....
Easy find thanks.....
Easy find thanks.....
After completing the new virtual and meeting Boges, we were very close to this multi. No problems with working out where the final would be, and it wasn't long before Supernanny located the cache. Thanks for this nice easy multi.
After doing the new Pukete virtual we couldn't leave before hunting down this treasure too. Centred ourselves, then strode purposefully towards our chosen target where we were happy to find the hidden container. TFTC
Been an interesting day finding clues. Seen a few hidden spots like this one. After some discussion we each went our own ways. Dot got the wee treaure here. Cool multi in a nice spot. Tftc
I finished work earlier than expected today and so I decided to make a detour here. I had found the original geocache hidden here but couldn't remember where it was hidden so had to take out my compass and complete it properly. I walked straight to it and found it in the first place I looked. I like some others enjoyed looking through the original log book and finding lots of familiar names. Nice fun good quality multi.
I generally give multis a miss because of "missing waypoint" syndrome but there's not a lot else left for me in Hamilton. This one, however, was a delight, quickly spotted from the published co-ordinates. TFTC.
What a fun multi and nice and straightforward in another unexplored spot. Thanks for bringing us here pakiaaro.
We went straight to the correct location, where the cache was a fairly quick find in the rain, although we overlooked it initially. TFTC
In the area and felt like a bit of air and a quick cache. Nice walk up here and my memory hadn't faded too much as I vaguely remember the original. Soon had the cache in hand and grabbed 2 Tbs for more travels. Thanks for the multi
In Hamilton on a beautiful day picking up some caches. I am sure I have been up here before and had no trouble finding a good cache. Signed the log, replaced and then enjoyed the views on my way back. TFTM
What an amazing day! Set off to the Waikato with intentions to meet up with NZFlossy and TNXPro but somehow didn't see either of them - instead I managed to alternate my caching partners between Mr & Mrs Tryfyn & KayGeeDee and then Davidson Clan & Squirrel Nutcase for the late shift. I had a great time at both of the Hamilton events and enjoyed catching up with the locals here and from home. Lastly - a big 'thank you' to the CO's that made 2018's International Geocaching Day so awesome.
A very neat location for a two stage multi. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a straight forward placement. The hint was pretty handy too. Cheers pakiaaro, TFTC

Nice to come back up here on a very nice clear morning, going through the log book told me it was 8 years ago that I was last here.

Following on from last nights adventure I thought I had better collect a few caches in the local are awhile heading to do some chores (to get stuff to fix other stuff) so thought I should grab this one.

Headed out for a couple of hours to clean out some of the new caches around Hamilton. It's not often I cache so close to home, so it was great to visit some familiar places!
It's been a while since I was last here 2011 to be exact, so it was great to visit again. Took a rough bearing and headed to that side of the reserve and started the search. The lazy approach meant a littlle bit more searching, but soon narrowed in to a likely spot and soon had it in hand. Thanks for the multi.

As others have mentioned, the area was familiar from a previous cache hunt, although visiting at night & via a different entrance made it seem different initially. I was glad of MCC’s log to jog my memory about where to look. The log book is fascinating & poignant too ... a veritable roll call of cachers past & present. Six years since l last found it, longer for some of my caching buddies. Replaced with care & now off to find my main target for tonight - a group of men who want a sober driver to take them home!! Thanks for the cache & for the welcome distraction while I wait in town tonight!
Been here before for another cache that seems very familiar, 1st try following the clues did not reveal the hiding location, If I followed the PALM it would have taken me in the wrong direction.
Finally made the find, flipping through the log book which dated from 2008 we found where we had signed way back in 2010.... checking on-line the last log entry says it has been lost, guess it was found again....
I would say South, South East, and cabbage would be a better description

A day off during the week so time to get some town drivebys. A walk down memory lane as I lived in this area 30 years ago tftc
After the 18th @ 18 Event, I decided to sneak out and do a bit of a night raid to clean up some rural Waikato caches. Found this on what I thought was going to be my last cache.. 1AM, I think I've done ok. I couldn't remember this cache, but apparently I found it 15/5/14.
TFTC pakiaaro, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 3 find(s) of 7 today, making this find #1802

7.45pm - Five of us visited here tonight. I was still sorting out my directions when cache was found. SLTFTC
What a great night, went to the event then had a bit of a talk outside and made a plan.Great hide and found with abcdf4 and squirrel nutcase and Fap and Gap
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben...
It was a surprise to see this multi cache on the geomap again. It appeared as a new listing, and we were intrigued by the thought of returning to find what had changed. Our small group converged on the cache location in the dark. Right away, the layout and directions for the hide seemed the same as before, and we knew where to head for the final. Even ground zone had that ring of familiarity... Oh well, it's great to be brought back to this place, and the view of the surrounding lights was interesting. TFTC.

This one got me a little confused which is not difficult at 5am. When this was published I thought things sounded familiar to a cache I found some years ago. I eventually got up early to go and have a look. It was still dark but there was a beautiful moon. After searching around a bit I found a cache. it was a container that appeared well used but because of the time of night I half bye expected to find a blank log. But this was not so. The log book is that of the previous cache that was here. So I signed it anyway (again). I noticed a TB in the cache so I took it hoping it would help me solve things.
Once I home I checked my previous finds and sure enough the page information appeared similar. Same CO but it was archived in 2017 and not found since 2015. Next I looked at TB. This too was owned by the CO and was last seen in Germany in 2013 in the hands of cacher "White City"who has not found a cache since 2014.
So now I am even more confused.
I will claim a find (unless CO tells me there is another cache container to find) but won't claim the FTF. After all I have found it before. The FTF can go to the first one to find it that has not found the previous.
I enjoyed my little adventure.
