I had a few hours spare to walk around to find a few caches and look at the sights of Rome before we had to fly home and I headed to this interesting spot.
There were a lot of people around but not near the cache so it was an easy find.

Au moment ou nous arrivons, une bande d'adolescents vient de trouver par hasard la boîte mais refusent de la rendre et partent avec... Ce sera donc un DNF...
Heute ging es nun in die ewige Stadt. Mit Bus und Bahn näherten wir ins der italienischen Hauptstadt. Erster Anlaufpunkt war der Vatikan und über die Polizeikontrolle kamen wir zum Campo Santo. Dort blieb uns die Lampe nicht lange verborgen und somit war der erste Cache in Vaticano City gemacht. Weiter über den Tradi, wo erstmal das Militär um einen Stift gebeten wurde, da das Schreibgerät gut verstaut im Camper lag, konnte hier der erfolgreiche Logeintrag erfolgen.
Der nächste Cache war nur noch Zugabe am Trevi Brunnen. Den Rest der gespeicherten Dosen wurde nur noch als Orientierung durch die Metropole genutzt.

TFTC. Trovato subitissimo grazie a coordinate precise (nonostante segnale GPS pessimo) e fotospoiler molto dettagliato, pure l'aiutino indica un po' che cosa cercare. Siamo venuti a Roma apposto per tentare di essere i primi a loggare questo nuovo cache che sostituisce quello precedente, ormai abbandonato e poi ora archiviato, e siamo pure riusciti.
Grazie anche per l'interessante storia (obbligatoria) multilingua nella descrizione.
Vorrei soltanto aggiungere che ogni mattina si raccoglie ben 3-4000 euro di monete dalla fontana, circa 1,4 milioni di euro all'anno (2017) che ancora vanno a Caritas, mentre sembra che dall'anno prossimo il comune di Roma vuole gestire da solo i vari progetti beneficiari dei "ricavati".
