The container reminded me of a babyshka doll - an even smaller container inside the next. Nice big container that suits the area. Lots of bees out enjoying the flowers and sun today. TFTC
#204 15/09/2024 @4:27pmA quick find, just had to time my grab between walkers! Quite a large cache in such an area makes for some fun
Needing a walk coupled with a desire to tick off a couple of requirements for a challenge cache I'm working towards saw me travel back up north to collect a handful of caches near Reservoir and then take a walk down to Preston. All caches were found in relatively good order. One could do with a bit of maintenance. Overall an enjoyable walk complemented by finding a number of caches along the way.My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. ---I was surprised by the size of this cache at this reasonably well frequented park. Perhaps muggles tend to leave things alone in this part of Melbourne?
After a morning out caching we picnicked in the reserve (snoozed) and set to get this quick find. As the fellow South African in the post before noted great cache but log wet
-3052 TFTC JENPETEH, The H,s , South Africans living in Tassie GeoCaching our way around Australia and loving it Log is dry, but contents are all wet. Gets a FAV from us.
Lovely park and a quick find I'm between showers on this rainy afternoon. Log is drenched, have replaced with a temporary log.
Looks like I'm the second finder today. The log book is indeed a lump of wet paper and hard to write on. Wish I'd bought hand wipes wirh me too!
Walked in and decided that I had better read the clue. Spotted the likely hide which turned out to be correct. The hide is not as it should be though. Water had entered the container and the log book is soggy.
Tried to dry it on the warm concrete nearby and scratched my name in green biro. Have a photo if needed.
It may need some attention when you get a chance.
Thanks for the hunt Cliff5009, (adopted by nirgalagrin)

Unfortunately the container was not put back properly and was full of water. I emptied it out the best I could and have put it back the way I thought it should go. Logbook was only a little bit damp. Thank you nirgalagrin for placing and maintaining Leave no trace for us to find today.

That’s an interesting hide. Blends in very well with all the others in the area. Log is good and dry.
Thank you.
Thank you.
The hide was well done, but the hint had me confused. Perfect location for a cache
We found it facing the wrong way but we still questioned it's authenticity! I went down and grabbed it. Lo and behold! Found with Johnnynoknees on a cricket match day. TFTC
Usually, the roles are reversed.
Tonight, it was my turn to visit one of your caches, in company with the current CO.
A nice big cache and great camo construction.
Thanks to Cliff009 and nirgalagrin.

A little bit muddy! But we spotted something that might need further inspection. We were all wearing our clean clothes however as we agreed to attend the dinner event and then NOT find any caches that weren't located on concrete as everything was damp from recent rain.
sebass19 wasn't afraid to get his hands a little dirty however, so took one for the team. Managed to locate the cache after that!
Thanks, another unique hide

I like this cache hide. Signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
I had picked up some goods from a Glenroy sport's store and dropped by this cache on my way home. I parked in the reserve's main carpark and walked around the oval to GZ. Even though it had been one of the warmest and sunniest days that we have had for some time there was only a couple of muggles on the oval and nobody near GZ.
As I approached GZ I spotted something that was ever so slightly different from the rest. It was lucky that I have found a few similarly camo'd caches, although this one did blend in with its surroundings much better than some I have found. I retrieved the cache and signed the log at 4:45 pm. TNLN. I then returned the cache to its hiding spot.
Thanks Cliff5009 for the cleverly camo'd cache and thanks to nirgalagrin for continuing to maintain it. It was a lovely quiet spot for those not interested in the nearby sporting activities. The pond looked good with all the reeds and plants in it. I enjoyed reading the nearby info board about the Stormwater Harvesting System, which had a diagrammatical description of how the water is harvested.

A simple find, but alas there is some serious TLC needed here.
The lid to the hide was removed and the cache is full of water see photo attached).
This is a great hide and to continue with it this needs to be addressed quickly otherwise the cache will suffere even further from the recent rains.
Took Nothing, Left Nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today.

I thought the scoreboard may have been part of the written hint. That drew a blank! All good at GZ today. TFTC
Liked this one - near a lovely park with basketball rings, exercise equipment and a skate park. Well worth a visit!!
Took us a minute to find it!
The clue helped and gave us a giggle.
Thanks for putting in so much effort!!

After a bit of time in the sun, the log and container are nice and dry again, and back in place.
Enjoy!

Together with Surefoot24 we went for this cache.
At GZ we had a good idea and the second try was the cache.

On our way to Tullamarine Airport to drop legendary German Geocachers Jebjeb there for their trip home after spending 21 months in Australia. They needed a cache today to keep their streak going. This wasn’t too far off our route and we had planned to call into nirgalagrin on the way so the finding device was plugged in to the Rice Paddy. It was even closer for this cache.
We needed to walk a couple of hundred metres to GZ from the car park, which was a welcome relief from being cramped up in the car for two and a half hours on our drive here. What a delightful spot we found here! Then where would you hide a ‘regular’ sized cache here? Ah our hunch was right in the second location we tried. Luckily the pond wasn’t too full after recent rain. The cache and contents were in good, dry condition.

All that wild weather has slipped the cache from its mooring.
Removed to dry everything out.
I'll be back soon with the cache and a few tools.

Found this exceptionally put together cache. The owner should be super proud. I’d suggest it’s bigger than a small but it’s a great cache! Unable to sign log book due to Mother Nature!
Ahoy! Great cache but it had a significant amount of water in there. Log book was well and truly waterlogged.
Fantastic cache, thank you!! Forgot a pen but will return to sign the log and swap a treasure!
We needed milk and a few other things, so I got a lift with the better half to the pickup, and walked home the long way... checking that all was well here.
It is, indeed. Plenty of swag and a nice dry logbook await. Enjoy.

I remember searching for this one early on the morning it was published. I was there first but had limited time to look and no matter how much I scanned the area I just couldn't spot it and had to give it up. I've only just gotten around to coming back to try again and this time spotted it quite quickly and I'm not sure how I missed it. A clever hide and nice use of the surroundings, thanks for the cache Cliff009.
Yay, a cache with room to leave swaps! Great pin and well disguised in plan sight.
Thanks Cliff5009 you have kept me entertained this morning. That is an awesome cache and if you are into swaps and TB this is a goodie
Went for a morning walk, did a few laps then found this one on the way out. Clever hide. TFTC
Accurate coordinates and a label on an object led to a quick find of a great cache which blended into the area exceptionally well and was creatively designed. This was a great caching outcome and earns a favourite from us. Thanks Cliff5009 for a great cache.
Have flown down to Melbourne from Sydney for a 2 week training course at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport Air Traffic Control Centre, but my main interest will be in collecting as many Victorian (VK3 in HAM radio terms) caches as possible during my free time away from the workplace. My primary caching target areas will be the Woodlands Historic Park (with it’s 100 plus caches), the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail, the Outer Circle Railway Trail, the Donaldson’s Creek Trail, the Ruffey Creek Trail, Eltham (Diamond Valley Railway), and the suburbs surrounding my Essendon apartment. This was the 13th of 13 finds for the day, and the 83rd of 242 finds for the trip.
After knocking off work I stopped off for a few caches on my way back to the Essendon apartment, then headed over to Pascoe Vale and Glenroy for a few more finds to add to the day's tally.
Last cache stop for the day was at Sewell Reserve for this one, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ, but it does blend in really well with other similar features in the landscape. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC Cliff5009, and you can have a Favourite point for your good work on this one.

I had an expected job that brought me to the area today so why not grab a cache or two while I was here. Only problem when I left home I wasn't expecting to be out of the car for any length of time so I wasn't wearing a jumper or jacket. I am not sure weather the wind died down or the brisk walk to GZ kept me warm but I seemed warmer heading to this cache compared to the last.
Once at GZ I knew exactly what I was looking for but which one. Again my GPS had me loop around just about everywhere before it settled and I knew I was on the money.
Thank you Cliff5009 for your good work here

Out with xambo4u, we were chasing shadows, fingerprints and footprints with extras along the way. A beautifully hidden cache, in the third place we looked. Thanks Cliff5009
Out and about with echidna44 for another enjoy day of caching with a new challenge in mind. Its to catch a jewel thief. Having done some prep on what we needed it we are now on their track. Having done the one close by it was a short walk to nice revegatiated space. Nicely made placed. Took TB's Thanks for the cache Cliff5009
Found @12:00pm after a morning of micros. I had a TB to offload and a craving for a larger cache and I’m so glad I picked this one. Such a good hide! It was woefully empty save for one free wax appointment and 2 plastic toys so I loaded it up with swag, signed the log and scraped the mud from my new shoes. TFTC! A favourite point from me!
This proved to be an interesting cache container and we had to use stealth and patience again due to a game being played and muggles not that far away. No TB in cache container. Another well planned and implemented cache.

We didn't notice this one at first but then used our eyes a little more carefully. It was a clever hide and a great learning experience for our 6 year old granddaughter. Tftc
Out on a warm summer evening Bunadoorian and I went in search of a few caches. I knew this park area from the football season so I knew roughly where this area was - now to find the cache. Must say a lot of tonight's caches were very clever. TFTC Cliff5009 find 1 of 4 tonight
Grub62 found this cache while I was distracted by other possible sites. A very clever hide and surprisingly well disguised. TFTC.
Younger member of FNG out with her grandfather, checking some caches in Melbourne, had some finds on the day. This was number 2. Thanks for the bike ride and the cache!
I love a cache that is just so out there that nobody pays any attention to. Good spot for a cache.
A trip to Melbourne for work, I'm guessing since I can't get my electronic calendar to now go back that far but since it was a mid week drive down and then a drive back on Sunday. I'd have to say that it was probably the time of our programs' All Staff Day catch up and Christmas lunch
Rex and I were in Melbourne/Frankston/Berwick area for 5 days and managed to find 24 caches during that time
We found some Whereigos , some AR caches , some puzzles , some multis , some trads and we got to spend some time with a lovely geocacher [:X] (even if we did keep her up until 3am )
I even managed to finish all of the caches in the Wilson's Botanic Park and that is a tad bittersweet as now I have no more cache incentive to return there
Finally on the way home we spent some extended time finishing off the Light Horse Memorial puzzle cache at Seymour[^] At long last and yet what a lovely and historical area to have been wandering in on sunset and dusk! [^]
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby
