I’ve been out here on group walks several times but keep forgetting about the caches in the area. However, today I did remember and fired up my phone at the first POI and saw that there was a cache very close by. Happily I quickly spotted the container when the distance read “zero”! Very accurate coordinates! TFTC - first to sign the new log.
New cache now in place with fresh log book and pen .
Please rehide as found .
Good luck !

Out for an easy wander with Noikmeister today. Found quickly although cache container is cracked and waterlogged.
Found at 12:51:00 PM with BatGirl
Cache was completely exposed to the sun. Lid is cracked and disintegrating. Log was singable.
Thanks The Farmers 5

Such a perfect day venturing on a nice 12km walk into the countryside with Dazzpete. Nice quick find. TFTC
After finishing my Roo caches I had a look at this series. #1 was a straightforward find with good coordinates. Cache container is badly cracked however log is dry and in good condition. I have replaced the container upside down to try and keep the water out. Thanks, TF5.
Out with my youngest daughter doing some map and compass work for her Grey Wolf hike preparation. Mrs Oz KEG came along with us and was collecting the caches (I have already found) along the way. The area this cache is hidden in is fenced off with no entry signs. CO might need to relocate the cache.
Dnf today big fence around w do not enter sign. Saw wombat unfortunately with the worst mange. Reported to act wild carers to help.
Wombat has been treated for Mange next time will look for cache. The red is an antispetic/anaesthetic. It also has got the Cydectin treatment on to deal with the mange.
Another journey out to Kowen Forest for the fabled ‘Roo’ series. Hoping to have it completed before the Summer heat kicks in.
Parked just off the highway around 7am and headed out on foot along Charcoal Kiln Road. A perfect opportunity to check out the smaller ‘Walk back in Time’ series as well.
From the second I stepped out of the geomobile the flies were upon me, and didn’t let up for a second over the next 4.5 hours. Seriously annoying!
Wasn’t aware of the history of the region so much before, thanks TF5 for bringing me here. Found WBIT #1 through #5 without issue before heading into the forest proper. Again, no issues with the finds, Roo #43, #47, #46, #52, #51, #48 and #42 found with little to no scrounging around. Had previously worked out #44 and #45, just a little bit of back tracking required in collection. Heading out of the forest it was back past the gun club and down towards the river for WBIT #6 and #7. Came across a good sized brown wiggly stick as I entered the compound, slithering back under ruin brickworks. A little distracted with finding #6 now, hoping it was far enough away not to be an issue. Semi confidently searched around, bingo. A very quick sign and replace and no issue sighted.
Hiked across the raging creek and up to the hill summit for #7. A quick find followed by a well deserved rest. A carb and isotonic hit then back down the other side and onto the track leading to the geomobile. Not a muggle sighted all day although a few vehicles parked at the gun range.
Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining the caches, any significant issues or remarks or anything I might have found interesting added at the end of log.

I have driven past this trail many time and thought to myself that I needed to explore it. A month ago I parked at the start and grab one of the information brochures. Doing some research at home, I discovered that there was a nice GC trail giving me an additional reason to explore the track. Today was the day, my family was in Sydney so I could disappear and it wouldn't be noticed. I walked this trail in reverse order. A nice easy find, thanks for bringing me here and for the caches Farmers 5.
19,350. Found during a meander through the forest with minniek.
We didn't join any of the other 'cousins' wandering through the forest looking for Roos today, as we arrived at about 2:30. What we did manage was to visit most of these Walk Back in Time caches, plus some more caches a bit further east. Arrived at the Shearing Shed for a nice quick find at GZ. Signed the log, carefully returned the cache, and moved on to the next one.
Thanks The Farmers 5 !! Awesome looking around this historic area.

Super late start for fitzy_1965 and I today after I need a sleep in.
Decided to head into Kowen forest for this little series today. A fascinating little bit of history.

Interesting old buildings. A pity they're blocked off. Cache found all OK (uncovered).
Thanks,
Thanks,
A day of caching in the Kowen Pine Forest with Marmaduke Rothschild. A happy medium between drive by and bush bashing. Thank you to every cache owner for placing and maintaining the caches for our enjoyment.
Out in the countryside with Bluewattle and come across this wonderful old piece of history. Enjoying the walk around to this one, nice hide here and a favorite point from me.

Nice spot say hello to the cache guardian signed dsd or DARKSIDEDAN depending on the size of the cache thanks for the cache and the adventure
**This Cache:**
The first cache of the day, and quite a long walk to get to it! Luckily the start of our walk was amazing weather, very cloudy and cool. But it didn't last long and the rest of the day was hot and sunny.
A great spot to start off with! Walked around the shearing shed and made a quick find of the cache. Oh and there was quite a large spider guardian too!
**This Series:**
Ever since this series has come out I have been really keen to do it, I never knew this historic/heritage walk existed, nor that it was all on public property! But after reading the description and comments it became a priority!
I have attempted to do this series twice now, but both times I have been distracted by Tankengine caches, which included FTF's!
So today the plan was set once again, and I came along with DSD. It was a very eventful but hot walk when the sun came out as there was barely any shade the entire time! We did the Walk in Time series, as well as one Tankengine cache, and DNF'd the cache near the railway bridge
We saw cows, bulls, kangaroos, two brown snakes (both in creeks!) and lots of fly's, horse fly's and grasshoppers.
Thanks for the fun Farmers 5!

A great day to get out and do some caching. This is a great little series. I had always wondered what was in this area. I suspected private farming, so this was unexpected.
All caches found and in good condition.
Thanks for the trek into the past, The Farmers 5.

After hearing tree clearing has caused archiving of the caches in the star Genghicat and I thought we'd make a conserted effort to do kowen roo. This place, however, caught our imagination and we had to check it out. Nice to finally a cache here. It's a fine start to the day, beautiful clear weather, good company and nice surroundings. The Shooters club is out in full force today and we are hoping to not get locked in because of it. How amazing is the old house and shed. So different from our lifestyle. In many ways it's sad the buildings are not being used as they decay far quicker when abandoned. Very interesting area. Thankyou for introducing it to us.
All good with cache. Tftc

Touchstone7 and I decided to look at doing some of the Kowen Roo series before it invariably gets archived due to the logging of the pine forests.
This little series was on the way, so decided to take a look and grab the caches while exploring the local history. Amazing place and a nice history lesson. Amazing just how people lived back then.

After competing in the ACT Long Distance Orienteering Champs east of Bungendore, I stopped off to ride the Glenburn Heritage trail and find these caches. About 1.5 hours all up. A quick find here. Left TB. TFTC.

A 25 k walk around Kowen to-day starting with the Walk Back In Time series. I did it in reverse as I was then going further north afterwards. The workers laying chicken wire (no pun intended) must have been wondering what I was doing on the other side of the building. . Enjoyed the history and the caches. TFTC.
Out with Jusojara for Rally Prep for this years National Capital Rally and we decided to take a detour to grab some caches
First cache of the day and after driving our stage we decided to drive over and have another look at the homestead and surrounds and get the caches here too. Nice quick find.

DRT and I had just finished doing a recce for our National Capital Rally stage next weekend ad decided to make a detour and grab these caches. We drove up to the old building and then walked around to GZ where I made a quick find.
We are pretty familiar with this area and it's history after checking it out a few years ago during a rally but it is good to see there has been some more preservation work undertaken - TFTC

Have had this heritage walk on the radar for some time now, and so the inclusion of 7 geocaches to potentially find, a mild, sunny autumn day made everything perfect. After reading the informative signage, and a bit of a poke around, set to the task of cache finding. Spot on coordinates and a bit of a reach soon had the cache in hand. Took a path tag to add to my collection, and left a WoW dwarf figurine. TFTC The Farmers 5.
Saw these come out last night, but was expecting someone over to purchase an item I was selling... So I told myself, I'd rather do these during the day anyway. So today I headed off on the bike, to try and collect them all! This one was the second one for the day. I have been to all these locations with geocaching before, but they were archived about 6 years ago. A while after that, I was going to place some caches at these spots, but had a very nasty run-in with the supposed owners of the shearing shed. Suffice to say, I never published those, and hadn't been back since! - Therefore, it's nice to see that there is now an official trail!
Mind you, this one did return some of my nighmares! There was a big "keep out" sign I needed to walk near, and then there were "trespassers will be prosecuted signs near GZ. - So even though it only took me 5 minutes to find this, it seemed like an eternity! A creepy place for me! Glad to tick this one off! Thanks TF5.

No, you cannot go inside the main shearing shed as a huge chain goes through a hole in the door and around a post on every single door. But you can venture into the shearing quarters which is the first building you arrive at next door.
*FTF* 9.50pm with dty73. It took us 50 minutes to walk in from the gate but we also took our time chatting and enjoying walking the road by the light of the moon. Didn't notice the coolness of the evening with the walk along and before to long the building was spotted up ahead. This is a very cool location and I will have to return during the day for a better look around, but there is also something quite fascinating looking about by torch as well or just with the moon light shining down on everything. Thanks for the cache and the walk back in time The Farmers 5, an easy earn FP for the location and the series.
*FTF* 9:50pm with Aquilus1. It took us 50mins to walk from the gate to this one. Not a hard walk and nice to do under the full moon - we didn't need our torches most of the night. The cows we passed were intrigued by us and they were noisy too.
We were a little concerned when we arrived here with the warning sign on the gate, but all was good as we went through the walking gate. Half the shed is fenced off and locked up, but we still had a quick look through windows and the area. Being there at night and with moonlight gave the place such ambience. Definitely worthy of a FP. Tftc!!
