Another fascinating site. The mower is so cool. Another quick find here and the cache is in excellent condition. TFTC
Out for an easy wander with Noikmeister today. Found quickly however is completely waterlogged and all inside is sodden. Due to the low location of the hide combined with the boggy area this one isn't likely to stay dry in the current container.
Found at 12:35:00 PM with BatGirl
Cache was completely water logged, including the replacement log someone else put in. The whole area this cache is located in is basically a swamp now. It need relocating to higher ground. See image
Thanks The Farmers 5

Such a perfect day venturing on a nice 12km walk into the countryside with Dazzpete. Nice quick find no 3, but contents very wet. TFTC
After finishing my Roo caches I had a look at this series. #3 was a straightforward find with good coordinates, however unfortunately water has got into this container again and rendered the log soggy and unable to be signed.
I have left one of my spare logs in a new snaplock bag in the container in the hope there's something dry to sign for the next finder (see pic). Thanks, TF5.

Found despite the long grass in the area - a little concerned about the possibility of encountering some nasty critters but fortunately it didn't take to long to uncover the cache. However, the cache was very wet & we didn't have anything suitable to dry it and didn't want to make things any worse by removing the log book, so a photo was taken as proof of our visit. TFTC - suggest a more watertight container or a more elevated hide position.
Out with Tealby on a group walk - really interesting early settlement sites of the ACT . TFTC
Out with my youngest daughter doing some map and compass work for her Grey Wolf hike preparation. Mrs Oz KEG came along with us and was collecting the caches (I have already found) along the way.
Out for a ride with Tabmw and Jondub. Lovely spot! Log very wet, difficult to write in. TFTC
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.
Recent rains has soaked this cache, including the log, due to its location down low as the surrounding ground in a dip and collecting water. Sadly, the log could not be signed. All other caches in this series were in good condition today.

Another journey out to Kowen Forest for the fabled ‘Roo’ series. Hoping to have it completed before the Summer heat kicks in.
Parked just off the highway around 7am and headed out on foot along Charcoal Kiln Road. A perfect opportunity to check out the smaller ‘Walk back in Time’ series as well.
From the second I stepped out of the geomobile the flies were upon me, and didn’t let up for a second over the next 4.5 hours. Seriously annoying!
Wasn’t aware of the history of the region so much before, thanks TF5 for bringing me here. Found WBIT #1 through #5 without issue before heading into the forest proper. Again, no issues with the finds, Roo #43, #47, #46, #52, #51, #48 and #42 found with little to no scrounging around. Had previously worked out #44 and #45, just a little bit of back tracking required in collection. Heading out of the forest it was back past the gun club and down towards the river for WBIT #6 and #7. Came across a good sized brown wiggly stick as I entered the compound, slithering back under ruin brickworks. A little distracted with finding #6 now, hoping it was far enough away not to be an issue. Semi confidently searched around, bingo. A very quick sign and replace and no issue sighted.
Hiked across the raging creek and up to the hill summit for #7. A quick find followed by a well deserved rest. A carb and isotonic hit then back down the other side and onto the track leading to the geomobile. Not a muggle sighted all day although a few vehicles parked at the gun range.
Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining the caches, any significant issues or remarks or anything I might have found interesting added at the end of log.

I have driven past this trail many time and thought to myself that I needed to explore it. A month ago I parked at the start and grab one of the information brochures. Doing some research at home, I discovered that there was a nice GC trail giving me an additional reason to explore the track. Today was the day, my family was in Sydney so I could disappear and it wouldn't be noticed. I walked this trail in reverse order. A nice easy find, thanks for bringing me here and for the caches Farmers 5.
19,352. Found during a meander through the forest with minniek.
We didn't join any of the other 'cousins' wandering through the forest looking for Roos today, as we arrived at about 2:30. What we did manage was to visit most of these Walk Back in Time caches, plus some more caches a bit further east. Arrived at the Hay Shed for a nice quick find at GZ. Signed the log, returned the cache, and moved on to the next one.
Thanks The Farmers 5 !! Awesome looking around this historic area.

Super late start for fitzy_1965 and I today after I need a sleep in.
Decided to head into Kowen forest for this little series today. A fascinating little bit of history.

A day of caching in the Kowen Pine Forest with Marmaduke Rothschild. A happy medium between drive by and bush bashing. Thank you to every cache owner for placing and maintaining the caches for our enjoyment.
Out in the countryside with Bluewattle and come across this wonderful old piece of history. Enjoying the walk around to find this one. So pleased to have done this little mini series and another favorite point from me.

**This Cache:**
Another great spot and some remnants of the hay shed lying around. DSD has uploaded a great pic! We repositioned the chair as it had fallen off onto the ground, made for a better pic overall! Cache easily found, but was a bit wet inside. Luckily the last person closed the ziplock baggie perfectly and the log survived however, so fingers cross it stays that way!
**This Series:**
Ever since this series has come out I have been really keen to do it, I never knew this historic/heritage walk existed, nor that it was all on public property! But after reading the description and comments it became a priority!
I have attempted to do this series twice now, but both times I have been distracted by Tankengine caches, which included FTF's!
So today the plan was set once again, and I came along with DSD. It was a very eventful but hot walk when the sun came out as there was barely any shade the entire time! We did the Walk in Time series, as well as one Tankengine cache, and DNF'd the cache near the railway bridge
We saw cows, bulls, kangaroos, two brown snakes (both in creeks!) and lots of fly's, horse fly's and grasshoppers.
Thanks for the fun Farmers 5!

Easy find signed dsd or DARKSIDEDAN depending on the size of the cache thanks for the cache and the adventure
A great day to get out and do some caching. This is a great little series. I had always wondered what was in this area. I suspected private farming, so this was unexpected.
All caches found and in good condition.
Thanks for the trek into the past, The Farmers 5.

It's a beautiful day and Genghicat has joined me to do some of Kowen roo. This series, however, caught our imagination.
We thoroughly explored these buildings. My mother tells me about 9 of them fitting into a little home but seeing the size of these 2 buildings lends a whole new reality to that. So different from what we expect today. I wish there was more information about it's weather proofing.... not just what they did but how, and have it maintained properly. So interesting.
Cache was found in good condition. Tftc

Touchstone7 and I decided to look at doing some of the Kowen Roo series before it invariably gets archived due to the logging of the pine forests.
This little series was on the way, so decided to take a look and grab the caches while exploring the local history. Amazing place and a nice history lesson. Amazing just how people lived back then.

After competing in the ACT Long Distance Orienteering Champs east of Bungendore, I stopped off to ride the Glenburn Heritage trail and find these caches. About 1.5 hours all up. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Evie found it. TFTC Farmers Five. We might catch up if the kids walk a bit faster
A 25 k walk around Kowen to-day starting with the Walk Back In Time series. I did it in reverse as I was then going further north afterwards. . Enjoyed the history and the caches. TFTC.
Out with Jusojara for Rally Prep for this years National Capital Rally and we decided to take a detour to grab some caches
Another short walk over to this one, and a nice quick find - another opportunity to play with my new camera =)

Third one today for DRT and I on our way back to the Geomobile. This was a nice quick find and about the one place here we hadn't visited before - TFTC
Not much of the hay shed left, but at least an interesting piece of farming machinery, gently rusting away... wouldn't have wanted to be the driver of it in its day, looked quite dangerous. Took a bit of time to locate the cache, had to be looking at the right angle. Again spot on coords. Left a WoW dwarf figurine. TFTC The Farmers 5.
Headed off on the bike today, to try and collect these new caches! This one was the second one for the day. I have been to all these locations with geocaching before, but they were archived about 6 years ago.
Nice quick find here. Loved the lawnmower, but not much left of the shed! Thanks TF5.

*FTF* 10.25pm with dty73. It was just a short walk to this one and another interesting collection here of the history and the remaining items. The trail is very well done and following the markers along very easy, great information signs and very enjoyable. Had to laugh at the very weird noises coming from who knows what over by the big pile of bones, sounded like a very, very large possum but not! Will definitely love to return through the day for a better look but under the bright moonlight unlike most night time caching trips tonight it added to the experience. Thanks for the cache and the walk back in time The Farmers 5, an easy earn FP for the location and the series.
*FTF 10:25pm with Aquilus1. I love old equipment that is rusting away. It glows of the past and the stories it could tell. We did hear some strange animal noises coming from the direction of the remains of the shed, just past all the BONES! Oh well, got the cache and photos now onto the next one. Tftc!!!
