On my previous visit to this series (normally after trips associated with finding the excellent Kowen Roo caches) I'd not really had the time to make it to these slightly further points.

Today I did have the time, and enjoyed the short cycle up to the old trig where the cache was quickly found in an obvious spot.

Thanks, Farmers 5. Some great history up here.

Thank goodness for the hint on this one - which made the needle in a proverbial haystack much easier to locate! TFTC - I missed seeing this one on my earlier visit, so made sure I had a look this time around.

The Omnia walkers traversed the Burbong Track this afternoon which provided the opportunity for Elleise and me to seek out this geocache. It was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot within a metre or so of the coordinates. We were the first signatories this year! Subsequent visitors should know that you don’t need to turn over stones to find this cache; in this way we will avoid damage to this historic structure. Thank you The Farmers 5 for installing and maintaining this cache.

Good hide, thanks

Another journey out to Kowen Forest for the fabled ‘Roo’ series. Hoping to have it completed before the Summer heat kicks in.

Parked just off the highway around 7am and headed out on foot along Charcoal Kiln Road. A perfect opportunity to check out the smaller ‘Walk back in Time’ series as well.

From the second I stepped out of the geomobile the flies were upon me, and didn’t let up for a second over the next 4.5 hours. Seriously annoying!

Wasn’t aware of the history of the region so much before, thanks TF5 for bringing me here. Found WBIT #1 through #5 without issue before heading into the forest proper. Again, no issues with the finds, Roo #43, #47, #46, #52, #51, #48 and #42 found with little to no scrounging around. Had previously worked out #44 and #45, just a little bit of back tracking required in collection. Heading out of the forest it was back past the gun club and down towards the river for WBIT #6 and #7. Came across a good sized brown wiggly stick as I entered the compound, slithering back under ruin brickworks. A little distracted with finding #6 now, hoping it was far enough away not to be an issue. Semi confidently searched around, bingo. A very quick sign and replace and no issue sighted.

Hiked across the raging creek and up to the hill summit for #7. A quick find followed by a well deserved rest. A carb and isotonic hit then back down the other side and onto the track leading to the geomobile. Not a muggle sighted all day although a few vehicles parked at the gun range.

Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining the caches, any significant issues or remarks or anything I might have found interesting added at the end of log.

I have driven past this trail many time and thought to myself that I needed to explore it. A month ago I parked at the start and grab one of the information brochures. Doing some research at home, I discovered that there was a nice GC trail giving me an additional reason to explore the track. Today was the day, my family was in Sydney so I could disappear and it wouldn't be noticed. I walked this trail in reverse order. The wind was quite strong in the exposed areas (such as this cache). I nice easy find, though the hint might need an update from low to mid. Thanks Farmers 5.

19,349. Found during a meander through the forest with minniek.

We didn't join any of the other 'cousins' wandering through the forest looking for Roos today, as we arrived at about 2:30. What we did manage was to visit most of these Walk Back in Time caches, plus some more caches a bit further east. Arrived at the trig - and believe it or not - had to out wait a Muggle (!!) before we could search for the cache. Eventually she moved on and we found the cache - but I'm not sure it should be hidden here. Maybe a small move would keep everyone happy. Signed the log, carefully returned the cache, and moved on to the next one.

Thanks The Farmers 5 !!

Super late start for fitzy_1965 and I today after I need a sleep in.

Decided to head into Kowen forest for this little series today. Unbelievable that a muggle turned up just as we began our search. Wasn't entirely happy with the placement either (sorry F5) but hopefully put everything back as it should be.

Worth the walk. Easy find.

Wow there is nothing as far as the eye can see, it's all pine trees. Signed dsd or DARKSIDEDAN depending on the size of the cache thanks for the cache and the adventure.

**This Cache:**

An eventful walk to this one, as we may have broken the rule and forgotten to follow the trail markers! Woops! Ahh well, we got there in the end and had a fun time doing it regardless!

By this point we were really feeling the heat, and had to stop under some shade by the gum tress down the hill and take a rest. We then pushed on. Thanks!

**This Series:**

Ever since this series has come out I have been really keen to do it, I never knew this historic/heritage walk existed, nor that it was all on public property! But after reading the description and comments it became a priority!

I have attempted to do this series twice now, but both times I have been distracted by Tankengine caches, which included FTF's!

So today the plan was set once again, and I came along with DSD. It was a very eventful but hot walk when the sun came out as there was barely any shade the entire time! We did the Walk in Time series, as well as one Tankengine cache, and DNF'd the cache near the railway bridge Sad

We saw cows, bulls, kangaroos, two brown snakes (both in creeks!) and lots of fly's, horse fly's and grasshoppers.

Thanks for the fun Farmers 5!

A great day to get out and do some caching. This is a great little series. I had always wondered what was in this area. I suspected private farming, so this was unexpected.

A large hill to finish the day. Nice. I seemed to get off track and ended up walking the windrows on numerous occasions.
What is this dunny doing upon this hill. Interesting.

All caches found and in good condition.
Thanks for the trek into the past, The Farmers 5.

After competing in the ACT Long Distance Orienteering Champs east of Bungendore, I stopped off to ride the Glenburn Heritage trail and find these caches. About 1.5 hours all up. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Our last one for the day!! Loved the walk and the caches!! Tftc

A 25 k walk around Kowen to-day starting with the Walk Back In Time series. I did it in reverse as I was then going further north afterwards. . Enjoyed the history and the caches. Many years since I have been to this trig and it had trees surrounding it then. TFTC.

Setting up for Nat Cap and we decided to stop past and grabbed this one

Gotta love when you can make a walk into a drive by

After finishing our work on the Rally stage today DRT and I headed for the cache on the way home. After initially driving to within about 300m and being blocked by a fence, and with the rain staring to fall we decided not to hoof it the remaining distance.

On our drive out we say a promising track and turned this one into a drive-by where DRT uncovered the cache - TFTC

This was a disappointing end to our superb walk around the Glenburn Precinct... the view from here is awesome, especially on a crystal clear day as we enjoyed. The trig adds to the trig bagging tally.. so the disappointment? The fact that in order to locate the cache, it seems to be that some removal and movement of the stones and rocks in the cairn is required, definitely disregarding the heritage signage request that this not be done... the cairn does seem to be somewhat fragile. And so we looked in and under every nook, cranny and crevice, but to no avail. If to find the cache does not require stone removal/movement, then the hint should say so. If it does require, then I should like the cache moved elsewhere... after the visits of lots of cachers, there could be the possibility of real damage to the cairn. Many thanks for the other heritage trail caches, they all added to our overall enjoyment of our walk.

Saw these come out last night, but was expecting someone over to purchase an item I was selling... So I told myself, I'd rather do these during the day anyway Smile. So today I headed off on the bike, to try and collect them all! This one was the first one for the day. Have been here for a cache before, but nice to visit again! I was not 100% happy with the hide, as I needed to contravene the request on the sign! But I made sure to leave no trace! Thanks TF5.

*FTF* with dty73 8.44pm. Was a bit surprised to see the gate open but decided to drive in anyway, didn't go far though and with this the closest made it the first of the night. After the cache was found we decided that we better not risk being locked in so back out the gate and met the cars that were about to lock it! That was close! Had a bit of a chat to the people in the cars before making the walk along the tracks and off to the rest of this series. Even at night the views from here with the full moon are quite great and the information boards are very well done at all the locations. Thanks for the cache and the walk back in time The Farmers 5, an easy earn FP for the location and the series.

*FTF* 8:44pm with Aquilus1. We drove out here and all the way to this cache. But we decided to return back to the open gate, as we felt that we may have an issue of being locked in. Luckily we did too! As we turned the car and started to head back down we noticed two cars slightly in front of us and so we caught up, just in time to leave with them before they locked up for the night. After a quick chat with the nice gentlemen, we parked the car to begin our moonlight walk to number 1. Tftc!!!
