A quick find in the most logical place. Had some time to kill so took the opportunity to do a cache or two. TFTC
In Canberra over Easter for the GeoBash Mega, and out caching with Infoferret today. Canberra has turned on some great weather for us this weekend, She is keen to find caches in as many suburbs as possible, so we stopped by here. I found the cache reasonably quickly. Thanks for the cache.
31 March 2024 11:39 TFTC Aquilus1 for placing this cache, number 14009 for me.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
This is a bonus. Luckily its perfect temperatures for a wander in lovely country quite different from home base in NE Vic and I'm heading to RobRoy. In Canberra for the National Folk Festival AND the GeoBash mega so doing you know what will keep me busy in this supersaturated CAPITAL of distractions of all sorts. Signed this one as CB88 for Cybergran V weirdobiker and Ronice88 TFTC and the FUN.
I was out getting an early start on the day when I found this, I think this is a good example of a spot where the Muggles walking past would never think twice to check for something being there. The log was a bit damp so I gave it a good wipe down before signing and putting back. Thanks for sharing your great-grandfathers story: he sounds like he would have been a brilliant person to have known, and Im glad you could keep sharing his story further, even if its just within our little geocaching community Thanks for the cache!
Clearing the NM log, thanks to the grip strength of a FIJ! Will keep this in my maintenance list for when I'm in the area, but for now it seems to be all good!
Shared in the reminiscences by reading the description, before hitting the trails/paths today. Much good history in the listing. To wrap up today, before rustling up some lunch, Fox in Jox (already found this one, in 2018 or 2019) and I headed here, making a quick find. With a bit of elbow grease we got the container open, and I inscribed pantspeople on the log. Thanks Fox in Jox for the grip strength, and Aquilus1 for the hide and history. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
I found the cache but seemed to be rusted closed. Cache owner please come and check smile
The cache seems to be rusted closed please check this out bc I'm unable to open it

Wouldn't it be wonderful if our descendants all had such stories to tell about our own lives.
Maybe some will have that opportunity. Thanks Aquilus1 for the story and the cache.

On a wander around Conder & Banks picking up a few caches. All but one found without any issue on good coordinates.
I have memories of Tom Roberts.... when I worked delivering pizza's from Calwell we used to not like going this far.... but thats not the same Tom Roberts that triggered your reminiscences so thats OK

#11513 - 10:48:00 AM; Headed southside early for a spot of caching before a meeting in Gordon. Collected an adventure lab in Tharwa and then some trads to pass the time before the appointed hour. Did a circumnavigation of GZ before homing in for the find and sign. TFTC Aquilus1
#3947 After parking just off the road, I read the clue and thought, there's no pole there... But then I saw the cache from up top. Great waterproof container in good condition. TFTC.
Another cache towards our 365 challenge and towards the souvenirs
Found as part of 4as1 with Scruffyblake, Charli_Bear and Me_To

Checked on the cache today and placed a new waterproof log. All good here but it sure could do with a good CITO...
Today's caching trip took me out after work to Point Hut road and Tidbinbilla Road to finish the remaining caches along that way towards my daily cache count per calendar day.
I needed two more caches so back into the suburbs. A simple drive by today.
Thanks for the cache Aquilus1

Thought I should get out and get some caches as not working today. This is my first today. Easily found with damp log. Spent 10 min drying out before signing. Thanks for a cache close to where we are staying.
Found with AngelG27 on a Sunday morning mission to collect a few caches for her stats. She did the expert finding while I did the expert driving. TFTC
Cache 6792 on 22 Nov 2020.
Out on a early morning jaunt with Bobl27 to collect a few caches to top up my numbers for the day. All caches found easily and in line with hints unless otherwise indicated. Even this early, it was warm and the flies were out in force.
Approached this one from the wrong direction, so decided using the handrail was the better part of valour.
Thanks Aquilus1 for the cache and the memory about your grandfather.

Log has a hint of dampness, but still good. There is a pobblebonk frog calling in the drain, what an odd place for it.
TFTC - will have to read more about Tom Roberts when I get home.

I love the little water feature on the other side of the road!! It makes me reminisce about the leaf boat races we had as kids at the park near Lake Gininderra TFTC!
We decided to head out for a day of caching on the southside, as we have quite a few to choose from in that area, and collected ALL7 along the way.
After collecting a few others around Tharwa, we had decided to call it a day, but thought we could just get a few around suburbia as we headed back into town. We were so close to this one, so we stopped for another quick find. Thanks for the cache Aquilus1

Greart coordinates. Quick find. Log was complete but left a blank one. On to the next
That took a bit longer than expected due to the rain setting the GPS awry. Gotit though, TFTC
A very famous name I recognised on the street as well as anyone from the country will know this name .
Nicely hidden and blended into the surroundings .
Many thanks to Aquilus1.

Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to Aquilus1 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Quick find, a bit wet underfoot. Still plenty of water flowing a day after the rain.
Found with my mum while clearing out some caches in the Lanyon Valley. This was our first find for the day. We could see the smoke billowing out from the nearby Namadgi fire - a photo is attached. Quite a worrisome sight. Found the cache fairly quickly, nicely hidden. Interesting history about your grandfather, I drive on Tom Roberts Avenue nearly every day and now have another backstory in mind. Thanks for placing this one Aquilus1.
There were some kids around when I pulled up, but they moved off shortly after. (I don't look that sus do I? ). Their departure helped with my searching - there was no-one else around.
I suspect that they might have found the cache, as the log was out on the ground beside the cache.
I signed the log and replaced everything as it should be, and then I too left.

Found on a big Saturday getting lots of caches. A highly moving and interesting description which was a great read. Pulled up safely along the road about 100m from GZ and then wandered down where the cache was found after a couple of minutes. TFTC Aquilus1!
Rain had stopped, so wandered over to grab this one. GPS wandering all over the place, but narrowed it down after a while.
Thanks,
Thanks,
I love the artist and loved your segway. This is a perfect example of why people should read cache descriptions. Cache found in good order. FP for the sentiment and TFTC.
This was a quick find. Watch out for all the rubbish, lots of broken glass around. Found with MeganMax. Tftc.

Another chilly day but determined to get to 50 caches this weekend while collecting some museum clues. TFTC #48
500m from house yet only just found it with Mothergoose, who is a novice at geocaching and wanted to learn the geocaching experience. TFTC
Found 11:26 am with Thea (is she a de facto step grand daughter?). Thea is like around 3.5 years old. So my partner stayed in the geovehicle cause there was another de facto step grand daughter in there. We went off to GZ. I was a bit uncertain at first and then some closer examination of other possibilities showed a hint of a cache. Thea came to look hoping to find more than just a piece of paper but not to be. I signed the log and then returned it. Back off to the geovehicle we walked discussing the lack of treasure goodies.
Thanks for the cache.
Note I wasn’t sure if I had found this one before and meant to check the log but forgot with showing Thea the cache and signed the log without thinking. As in I lost a lot of unlogged logs in 2018 due to a phone mishap.
Thanks for the cache.

We "needed" a cache in this suburb, and this looked possible to find in the dark. TFTC!
Day 15: Clear Waters Mega Trip
The plan for today is picking up random suburbs, Trail of the Damned, Stuff of Nightmares and other exciting DT ratings (hopefully some letterboxes ).
Thanks Aquilus1 for being part of my Clear Waters adventure.

After nil success in the dark at Nearby cache this was selected as needed fur the suburb collection. Satellite image helped pin dune GZ location at night! Tftv
Signed dsd or DARKSIDEDAN depending on the size of the cache thanks for the cache and the adventure
A QF while in an area I don't often visit. Now to find my way back to Belcompton. TFTC.
Nice and easy.. got it on the way home
Wish there were more caches in this area!

Busy day. My lady's kids go to school tomorrow, and today we are running around with them in tow, and someone else's kids as well, having the last day of the holidays. I've just dropped them all at the swimming pool, which I can't use because the chlorine upsets my asthma. So I've ducked out for a cache. This one is close, and sounds interesting. I like the sound off your grandpa. I never knew mine, don't even have photos. The cache was a quick find, in a good spot. It was a bit exposed, so I covered it. With the storm last night, it is probably uncovered again. Never mind. Thanks for this one.
After making a start on the Beautiful Views trail I wanted to break it up by finding a cache from a different CO. This one was my closest unfound so drove over for my last cache of the day. First inspection I didn't see and tried a few other places. Went back to where I first looked and saw it straight away.
Thanks for the cache Aquilus1

This one was a nice quick find while killing some time in the area. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Aquilus1!
Great to read the description and back story of this cache! It was a public holiday so we parked at the gate that was only metres away from GZ, and quickly headed down to find the cache. With the hint in hand, and great coordinates, it was quickly discovered!
Thanks Aquilus1
Thanks Aquilus1
Coordinates kept changing directions even with me standing still so we couldn’t find it, probably more to do with my internet connection.
#4727 18th for today
Another hot summer's day. Not my favorite caching weather, but someone has to do it. Today was a relatively mild 30C or so. I have been looking at completing the Canberra Mapping Challenge with only about 5 caches/suburbs to do, so I decided today was it. Not a big ask for a day's caching, so it was quite relaxed and I dropped in on a friend while I was in the area, Having successfully grabbed by five suburbs, I dropped into Warramanga on the way home and managed to grab about 13 from there. All in all, a fairly productive day with no DNFs. I will claim the Mapping Challenge once the challenge checker is happy if/when I have done enough.
NIce easy find.
Thanks to the COs: Aquilus1

Went out caching with the family. Picked this one up while we were travelling around. TFTC
Nice quick find today after catching up with TikvaNZ and AngelG27. TFTC Aquilus1
I hadn't been taking much interest in the 'Hidden Creatures' challenge, but when I realised I was so close to getting all the souvenirs just by caching as normally, I decided to make that extra effort and get the last two souvenirs. So today Decrypter and I made a trip out past Tharwa to find the necessary caches. This cache was found on the way home. TFTC Aquilus1.
