Out with Duppers again this morning doing a few of the 65 roses.65 Roses - 26, GC7PPDF, but I could not find it today. May just be a case of cache blindness but there has been some work in the area.TFTC, TFTH

We did a lot of research and puzzling in the run-up to our cacher tour around Kilcoy. We spent many hours solving them at home on this Geoart. We finally travelled to Kilcoy and looked for lots of roses in the beautiful countryside.Thank you for the beautiful Geoart and greetings from Team sissifalke

Today is day 2 up here in Kilcoy to do the Rose GeoArt. Everybody I know has done this GeoArt, when I was still working. Now that I have been retired for some years , I knew it was about time to do it. Started late morning and after many hours completed the remaining caches I did not do on Day 1. TFTC JACS Team

My caching buddy Susan DW was back in town for a short visit so a quick plan was made to find the rest of the Kilcoy Roses. Despite the heatwave conditions we managed to keep our cool and found all but one of the caches we looked for today. Thanks to JACS team and to any other teams who are helping with the maintenance of this great series. And a big thanks to JACS team for the extra help they gave us today.

3rd time lucky for myself and TreasureTrakas to complete this 65 roses Geoart. Beautiful area Kilcoy and we enjoyed getting into all the backroads that weve not been to before. Even though it was hot today our dogged persistance kept us at it. Thank you JACS Team for the huge effort in placing it. Unfortunately 1 DNF stands in our way of completion at the end of the day.

Found on a trip through Broken Hill, Tilpa, Bourke, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Tambo, Blackall and Barcaldine to attend the QOGM at Longreach, then to Emerald, Biloela, Monto, Gayndah and Kilcoy on my way to Brisbane for a few days before a return drive back to Adelaide. Thanks for the cache, and for the entertaining caching foray around Kilcoy JACS Team!

This puzzle was only recently worked through in preparation for a visit like today, although it was a last-minute trip. I was able to solve this puzzle without too much difficulty, and the coordinates were put away ready for a future visit.

After parking the vehicle and jumping out to start searching around GZ - The leaves were covering this geocache fairly well, but then I spotted a familiar cache sign. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks JACS Team for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

----------

During this extended weekend, it was a trip north to find the 65 Roses geoart in Kilcoy, followed by two days boating on Lake Somerset to defeat the Dark Side series joined with [GurTheWanderer](https://coord.info/PRWMPWQ) and [stairman1](https://coord.info/PR4R27Z).

Today, I headed north via Caboolture, and I made stops in D'Aguilar and Woodford, before stopping at Stoney Creek in Bellthorpe National Park. Towards the latter morning, I set off finding the *65 Roses* geoart concentrating on the eastern circuit via Mount Kilcoy first, before then heading north, and back into Kilcoy for lunch. After tackling the central geocaches, I proceeded west through Woolmar, before finishing the series via the southern stem. As I was staying in D'Aguilar tonight, I returned via Mount Archer and a detour into the northern section of D'Aguilar National Park. A nice and cool weather day for collecting this series, and most of the geocaches were in good condition.

Aaaaand we’re back, this time with three kids in tow which aren’t overly keen about caching, but eeeh we dragged them along with us anyways to get them out the house.

With yesterdays deluge we thought the weather would be iffy but that wasn’t the case whatsoever. It’s was a perfect day, blue skies and far as the eye could see and not a single cloud in the sky. Perfection!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here exploring Kilcoy and the surrounding area. We’ll be back another time to clean up any DNFs, awkward caches to retrieve or ones we simply missed.

Thank you for placing, maintaining and for keeping this cache alive.

Thanks for bringing us here.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.

Day 14 – Farewells were done in Nanango with family and now heading to more family in Morayfield collecting more caches along our journey.

Solved all these puzzles before our trip so decided to try and pick some up while we were passing through the area.

All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks JACS Team for the placements and keeping this hobby alive.

Driving from Gatton to Sunshine Coast through Kilroy was the plan today. Hopefully collecting a few of the rose caches as well as some high favourite caches on the way.

I didn’t get as many of the rose caches as I would have liked but certainly made up for that with a number of other caches. Some very very cleaver caches that have given inspiration.

Tftc.

The rose caches were very good with all found in good condition.

Stopping in Kilcoy for a few days. Today was our first full day attack on '65 Roses'. Having previously contacted the CO we have refreshed all caches when we found them. Any with identified issues we have completed maintenance for the CO. This cache is in good order.

25-Apr-22
Found while heading back home to Adelaide after attending the Mega event at Townsville over Easter.

I ended up camping at Kilcoy for a couple of nights, attempting a few of the series late yesterday afternoon and most of the others today. Unfortunately the weather was not great with consistent, almost constant, light rain throughout the nights and days, but it wasn’t cold so not so bad for caching really.

I quite enjoyed solving the puzzles in this series in preparation for the trip but the caches weren’t so great. Many were missing, probably as a result of the recent flooding, and most are in need of maintenance. The coordinates and hints for a few were also a bit off, possibly due to cache creep.

The lid of this one was broken and the logbook was quite soggy. However, I did manage to sign it.

Thanks JACS Team for the the cache.

After a few days of knocking over some of these puzzle caches the time finally arrived to turn them into smileys. Headed out early on a gorgeous Saturday morning to work my way slowest through this fantastic piece of geo art.

Won’t finish them all today but look forward to coming back soon to complete the series.

Thanks to the co’s for the effort in placing an d maintaining this wonderful reason to explore this part of the world.

08-Jan-22
After spending some time last week working out the last of the puzzles, in some cases with a little guidance, we decided it was time to come and finish off the Roses today.
The weather was not exactly being kind, with Kilcoy Creek flooding and closing the highway in the morning but we weren’t going to let a little water stop us.
The recent rains have also encouraged abundant growth along the roadsides which saw us needing to push our way through knee-high to head-high grass to access many of the hides.
By the end of the day we were pretty much saturated from the thighs down but at least the dreary day seemed to keep both the muggles and creepy crawlies somewhat at bay.
I knew this poor old cache container was in a bad way so had brought a replacement. Unfortunately workers were nearby the first time we visited and were still present when we returned later in the hopes of being able to spend time replacing the container. We didn’t want to give away the hide so only managed a quick sign and we were off. TFTC JACS Team

A nice easy puzzle to solve once you know what to do. I can't believe I didn't even know this geoart existed. I guess I should thank Mr8 for leaving his shoes at a cache in Gatton. Willis007 collect them for him and a phone call to her about collection - well let's just say the meeting point was further away than Gatton Smile

Wowsers, this is my one hundred and twentieth letterbox cache.
I dare say i might qualify for a letterbox challenge somewhere.
I've only ever found a couple of challenge caches, they always seemed so far on the horizon when discovering them, so i've never bothered searching.
In saying that, the more caches i find, the closer i come to a whole variety of ticks in challenge checkers. And due to their relative difficulty, they generally have a unique d/t combination worth frothing over.
I've now overtaken my virtual count with letterbox's, and well on the way to reach the multi's count.
This letterbox was found without any difficulty and the golf course lawnmower guy was none the wiser.
Two down, three more to go.
Thanks JACS Team for adding some letterbox caches to this beautiful looking geoart. (Probably should have taken a screenshot before i solved any)

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.

Decided to pack up and head north a day earlier as we were no longer dry in our tent. Teamed up with Albida33 and Smittengranny (signing as FAMS) to do the 65 Roses Geo-art and any others in-between before parting ways and caching our way to Maryborough where we will be based for three nights.

All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated. Found that the lid here was cracked.

Dayboro trip. Day 12. With the Mega officially over, there was another day of caching to be done in the region. Today it was Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and SmittenGranny who joined me for a trip to Kilcoy. We spent the morning finding the Roses series that had been solved before the trip away. A fun collection of town and country caching, in the heavy rain at some times. Happily the heavy rain came after the walk was completed. I returned to Dayboro for my last night and the others headed north for more travel. It has been a great experience caching in the region and with so much more to do I will have to visit again. Bring on the next Brisbane Mega !

Thanks for the cache JACS Team

24,367. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33 and Smittengranny to form and sign as FAMS !

Day 7. Enough was enough. We decided that we had had enough of the rain at Dayboro, so we upped stumps a day early and started our journey up to Maryborough via The Roses Geo-Art and a couple more counties. Smittengranny and albida joined us for the Geo-Art. So after packing up the sodden campsite we headed north to Kilcoy after a final trip to the Dayboro Bakery. This was the next stop for the day. This was a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as FAMS, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks JACS Team !!

So cool to have made it to the Mega now to get the caches we spent months solving and other nearby caches. On our way home now via Toowoomba.

On a trip north to get to Dayboro with Kittykatch, Isopeda and Barb2e. Been lots of fun and laughs.

Headed to Kilcoy for some flowers with BenM70 and Burgo78 on this wet day.
The area here will look fantastic when the sun comes out over all the green pastures, but today it was really a day to sit in front of a fire. Instead of a fire, I kept the car heater on a bit to keep us warm.

Signing the logs as BBK today to save space.

Thank you JACS for this cache!

Cache 7331 on 3 Apr 2021.

Finally, a real geocaching mission with an airplane flight, nights away, so many caches on the list and a road trip home! Flew up from CBR on 1 April with TikvaNZ to join Fox in Jox for a 5 day full-on mission centred around attending the Dayboro Mega event. Plan is to cache in around BNE, targeting old caches, virtuals, LBHs, Wherigos, DT combinations and anything else that takes our fancy and then start heading home Monday via as many counties as we can squeeze in. We have so many caches on the list we are unlikely to get them all, but we will try our best! Don’t care if it rains or snows - QLD here we come!

This cache: solved last night and a quick find this morning!

Thanks JACS Team for the cache and the fun!

#10914 - 10:41:00 AM; Day seven of a road trip with Sol de lune as we head north for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega. After a second night in Esk, we packed up and headed off on our final leg to the Mega. High on the agenda for today was awaiting advice on the Brisbane lockdown and whether or not the Mega would actually go ahead, or whether we would be turning around and heading home early. While we waited, we set out to log the "65 Roses" geoart series in and around Kilcoy. The good news on the lockdown came between our fourth and fifth finds in the series, so we knew we had time to try and complete it before we headed to Dayboro. All up we had 60 finds and four DNFs for the series. Most of the finds were fairly straight forward, while some required a little more effort, reference to hints and/or earlier logs and/or the exercise of the geosenses. Enjoyed the variety of the puzzles and the hides. One left for the return journey to complete the series. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC JACS Team Smile

Day 7 of the trip north with LuckyL10n and today saw us leaving Esk and heading to Dayboro....and finally the cacheQLD Mega. Luckily the event has now got the go ahead and all is good....

Our plan for the day was this series and we simply took our time and got around the caches without to many issues. 4 DNF's in there, but that still meant over 60 finds.

Thanks for the caches and the reason to check out the area JACs Team....

I do like this style of puzzle. A set of coordinates was easily generated. Once at the GZ, the cache was easily located too.

21-Feb-21
Definitely our last day in Kilcoy, and we have finally finished the 65 Roses series of caches. All the caches we have found have been well placed - and have been a joy to find. Just a couple of long grass treks today but still an enjoyable morning caching.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The cache is UV damaged and very brittle. It really needs some owner TLC.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing

Thank you for adding to our adventure.

The puzzles and caches have been so much fun. Thanks for bringing us to Kilcoy so many times Jacs - MrGravel needs a few more to collect before his rose is complete too so another trip will be in order soon. Luckily it’s not a huge drive and we enjoy listening to audiobooks along the way Smile

The cache log was almost soggy so I took it for a drive around town to dry on my dash, hoping that no one else was caching in town today. I now suspect there was another team about, so I'm hoping to heck they didn't search for this cache before I'd returned it. Lid is smashed but hopefully the bag will keep the log dry. Out and about on a power trail today - targeting the Roses geoart (wahoo! highly recommended), the Potter Puzzles geoart, and the Hamilton power trail. It was a long but fantastic day with myself, Pprime (P') and mini oz_bean_counter, and the logs were signed as OP'X to reflect this. Started at 4 am with a check on the US election progress, in the car by 4.45 am and the first cache by 5.30 am. Home and dead tired 12 hours later, where wine and pizza were necessary to refuel the body before I crashed for the night. I was delighted to end the day with 124 finds (plus 5 DNFs, and revisited 2 caches) - a new daily record for me. I was really really happy to be celebrating that achievement with family and good friends.

Thanks for all the COs for their time and effort in placing and maintaining these caches. Apologies for the generic log.

After completing the darkside series yesterday and then a boat trip this morning to grab a trad we missed yesterday, it was then to pack up and continue the Rose’s series.

With an email to say the CO was in town doing some maintenance on the series of caches, it gave me a renewed enthusiasm for this series. It was extremely hot out here today but I had a goal and off I went. Willis007 came along for the drive and just did the caches she had solved, for me I had still three left to get (next time).

With log signed and cache replaced as found I was onto the next one. Thanks for this series I enjoyed it.

I had recently started working on the 65 Roses puzzles and was in the area this weekend collecting the Dark Side caches. However, this did give me an opportunity to start collecting some of the Rose series puzzles I had already solved.

My muggle husband and I decided to take a drive and try and finish off this great geoart. Today we found 19 caches and 2 dnf's. After a nice lunch at the nearby bakery we were fresh but at gz there was a group of muggles so we drove off as we knew they would move on soon and sure enough when we got back it was clear and I swooped in for a quick find. Retrieved a travel bug to take for a drive. The puzzle was a learning experience for us. Thanks for the fun

Somehow when I did this puzzle at home, I fully got the wrong answer, which led us to a likely looking public laneway around Kilcoy. We headed there today but the hint did not line up with where we were. We parked the car re-did the problem on our phones, and soon had a much better looking answer and a green light from certitude.
Thanks JACS Team
All good here!

My mission today was to try and find as many of the Roses series caches as I could. Apologies first for the cut / paste logs. I don't usually like to do that but make the odd exceptions for power trails and cache series like this. I will try to call out anything that stood out for me. I noticed this geoart series when I was passing through the area about a month ago. I was pretty sure that I would have to come back so tried to find time to solve as many of the puzzles as I could. This week I was back in the area for work so set today aside to get out and do some serious caching. Another neat combo puzzle / letterbox with a quirky container at the end of it all. Our third and final day in the area. This series is wonderfully constructed both in puzzles and design and types and nature of hides.

This was another fun one which brought a smile to the whole family. TNLN TFTC

A day out with the Bromance saw a lot of laughs, plenty of caches including the Rose Geo Art, a lot of rubbish picked up along the way and heaps of fun. Sorry it has taken so long to log these, they were found way back in March! No excuse for not logging really - just a bit lazy I guess. Great fun, cheers.

Crookedpete was the inspiration behind our trip to Kilcoy today. With his cache count odometer slowly ticking its way towards 5000, he was keen for a sugar hit to his finds tally. I have been eyeing off this series of caches on and off for a while now, and CP's need was the impetus to get us out here. Before we could though we had to set about solving some puzzles. I had a few solutions already stored away but a mad bout of puzzle solving was required in the week before departure. I managed to solve all but a few, with the others in the Bromanceketeers filling the gaps.

An enjoyable day was had by all and our tally of caches was equalled by our haul of recyclable containers which we picked up along the roadside at each cache. We signed the logbbook with "Bromance" to save space not to mention time and our sanity. Thank you for your efforts in laying this trail of caches.

With plans being tentatively formulated for my next milestone, I needed to get a few numbers under the belt (lest the entire year slips away before I get to said milestone.)

Despite all of the Bromance (Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and myself) having lost our power trail mojo, Seffnjarah suggested the Kilcoy rose series for a morning Bromance road trip. With a hot day forecast, we hit the road early at SeffnStupid o'clock and had the first cache completed just as the sun peaked over the horizon. The last for the day was signed before noon.

The series had a good variety of clever hides - difference styles of micros were found on both the left and right hand side of various road signs, the occasional ammo can made an appearance, we managed a few simple tree climbs and the best of all - we managed to collect three rarer large size caches today! Hooray!

Along the way, we all collectively did our part for the environment and CITO'd a good size bin full of cans, plastic and glass bottles from almost every cache we visited. The tally for the day was 65 containers recycled (one for every rose!). With thanks to the cash for cans scheme, the Bromance slush fund balance now sits at $6.50, which should buy about 4 litres of diesel. Doesn't sound too impressive, but we were collectively proud of our efforts.

Hot outside. My turn to stay in the air conitioning here. Cache was found in good condition in the obvious spot. Some logs were signed "Bromance" to save space. Many thanks JACS Team for placing this cache.

Another hot day and only a bit of work done in the paddock. A snap decision to break up the drive back to Brissy and make a start on logging the 65 Roses I really enjoyed these puzzles and appreciate the effort that went into the caches.

Something a bit different with this letterbox and the fun of trying to figure out how to retrieve the logbook Clever hide here, have yourself a FAVE point. No lizards were harmed in the logging of this cache
