Bruce made the climb very carefully with loose rocks and copious leaves to contend with. Luckily he persevered and was able to find this quite small cache. Thanks Temingi you find the darnedest places to hide your caches.
Thanks Temingi, we would have struggled to find it without ptco, or maybe took a whole lot longer! Advise mozzie repellent!
We were down this way picking up ButtonsDice after he dropped off his car for a service, and after an absolutely delicious breakfast at an Emu Park cafe, we decided to head over to this cache and see what we could see. We'd spent some time over breakfast perusing past logs and photos but even then we spent close to 30 minutes searching. Eventually, however, we found this little beauty completely covered by leaf litter and even the tether was hidden. We're awarding a favorite point because we had so much fun finding it. If only we could award more! Thanks for find #6309TNLN
I searched over the whole area I thought the cache may be without success. A colourful attachment may give searchers more of a chance.
Sorry about the late logs. When I cleaned the photos to check, I found it on 24/10/2023. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Temingi.
My first find in Queensland. Glad it was a memorable one as it did satisfy one of the CO attributes - time wasting! Have to say that I spent more than an hour determined to locate it after a few recent DNFs by others. However I had to do PAF since my GPS receivers told me several metres away. With TBs Canadian Flag, Dosenjger, Piglet Travel and G.N.I.A Travel Tag in tow. A hint (also said by CO in their description) is not to go up too far!
With careful observation and some strategic root manipulation, I managed to uncover the cleverly concealed cache container.
As I rehid the cache in its hiding spot, nestled among the tree roots, I couldn't help but appreciate the effort that had gone into creating this well-hidden gem. The salty breeze, the rustling leaves, and the sense of accomplishment all combined to make this geocaching adventure truly unforgettable.

This was a challenging cache. After climbing around the cliff. I was looking in the correct spot but could not find it. I moved away to another area. Dora the Explorer began searching the area I had just left and came up with the goods. This was Dora the Explorer’s second attempt. It is good to turn it into a smiley.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Temingi for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Too much too look at without a plan and too many mozzie. Will be back another day in hopes of finding it.

On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
This was a tough hide. I just thought about a spot that would be out of the way and there it was. Great cache.

Headed down to Yeppoon for a 4 day weekend due to Mackay Show Holiday. Cruiser loaded up with Caravan, Kayak with electric motor. Segway. Tree Fishing Pole. Retractable ladder, etc. Hope fully prepared for a cache attach on Yeppoon.
Day 4 of my 4 day weekend and still getting a good collection of caches.
Arrived at GZ after attempting yesterday and did the climb again and another search.
Reached out to CO who came down for a visit. After a few hints a find was made. I was searching way to high yesterday as GPS had bounce. Yes the lanyard is visible with no leaf cover and cache is in good condition. Definitely not a T5, this rating is appropriate for location.
All access was made from parking across the road and walking over highway entering through bush to base of cache.
Funny enough after finding the cache I had literally passed over it more than one time yesterday.
Thanks again Temengi for your time and I have enjoyed the caching wirh you today. Happy caching and hope you get the GEOCROC geoart series in Mackay soon.

Called past this arvo after a big day of caching and a good chin wag with Temengi at a wall climbing cache.
Arrive at GZ and soon realised the task at hand.
Admiring the "tree" and a Oh Gosh moment of so many places and in such a situation.
Started the limb and got to the top and commenced the search and had no luck. Decided to have a sit and think and ready a few previous finders misery logs. Saw that I may be too high. So widened by search but not in the way of that almighty drop.
Anyway dark was approaching and so I made my retreat and will try this again tomorrow. Thank again for the challenge.

The last geocacher DID NOT READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH on the cache page ,or chose to ignore it !!!!! Please access GZ from the highway side.
Didn’t look to not find it.
Buttons and I check things out from the bottom.
What doesn’t fall away under our feet crunches into dust as we grab it.
I’d hate to be trying this when it’s dry, because the rain has compacted things down a bit.
There is going to be no climbing today, let’s look from the top.
Parking the car at the bottom of the track, we walk up and then across to where the scrub line starts.
Buttons provides moral support while I disappear under the low hanging branches.
Several false starts later, I am sliding down the hillside on my back, with rocks disappearing down it faster than myself.
A lot of the wood I grab is still turning to powder under my hands.
Note: before getting to the cactuses turn right……..
One last fall onto my arse and I manage to stop myself from going over the edge by accidentally getting my foot wedged into a root.
I have managed to lose my glasses but when I finally get them back on my face, I am sweating so much down onto them I can’t see anyway.
I sit watching the gps for a little trying to get my breath back and it reckons I’m within a meter.
I don’t care anymore. Without even a look around (as I can’t see properly anymore) I start to figure a way back up the slope.
I get mildly disoriented (as I spent half the journey down sliding out of control on my back) until I meet my friends the cactuses again.
I finally manage to fight my way back out from under the scrub and come to the conclusion (as always) that Temingi has a warped sense of humour when he sets the difficulty level of his hides. A terrain 3 is not what I would have set it as.
Maybe we (I) will come back and try it again one day.
But only after a fire has cleaned it out.
Note: no one should try this unless they are very fit, an adult, no glasses, and have a Tibetan Guide

Spent a good while searching before calling FTF Adam from TeamSmokeyBear. He tried to help us but was a bit hard seeings he was driving! Have 6 up for today but we don't mind cos A) we had a ball and B) we now have to come back again and have all that fun again.
Now this was an interesting one. Believe it or not the GPSr put us pretty much in the correct location straight away. And we even chose pretty much the correct elevation. But do you think the tricky thing would reveal itself. We must have searched for 20 minutes until everything looked the same and we figured there was nowhere we hadn’t looked.
So what do you do? You ring a phone a friend, in this case the CO. WELL Temingi being an engineer and me a scientist and worse still a school teacher our languages are quite different. We spoke for a while, But Temingi did give us one important clue that was the clincher. I went back up and made the find straight away. Found the cache and then found the tether though!
Thank you Temingi for a real challenge. We think!
Day 2 in Yeppoon and out to do some more caching mixed with sightseeing. We headed south first down to Emu Point and then worked our way back to Yeppoon. A Virtual, multi, puzzles and a few traditionals. Magnificent scenery at every turn on a beautiful sunny day.
Thanks so much to Temingi for his solo efforts in a beautiful part of the country.

Another try with PJSTKS, Just so happy to find this one. Too many places for the hide, and my legs can't take climbing over loose leaf an rocks.

Well i don't mind admitting this one has given me a bit of pain climbing all over the rock face
After attending an event a few days ago i Was talking to the CO who gave me a little bit of a hint
So i thought maybe third time might be lucky without much confidence at all
Much to my surprise i had a win assisted by Stunted Nob
Much back slapping later
Tftc well done

Day 3 of our northern adventures with RoddyC, Snickersallan, GrannySmith 1947 & YOF out doing some caches in Yeppoon.
With some puzzles solved we ventured out early to pick up some target caches caches. Great day on the coast.
I found this cache after an event when the cache was first released with a large group and was the first to find on it (RoddyC). It was good to come back with our group and lead them find it again. Well done.

Day three of my road trip from the Gold Coast to Townsville with geo friends RoddyC, hatzofff, grannysmith1947 and youngoldfella. Well this one was rather fun to do in a way, absolutely loved the root system on these trees which saved me from falling down the slopes a few times. So glad to have spied the tether after only a few minutes as there are so many possibilities here.

I found my way in to as close to gz here and found the best place to start the climb. I picked my way up the rock face until I was on reasonably flat ground at the top and began searching for a tether. The gps was no help at all, it was jumping all over the place, and after about 25 minutes I still had no find. As it was spitting to rain, and also because the geodaughter was waiting nearby in the car, I had to give the hunt away. Getting down was harder than getting up, and I had a scary moment when a rock gave way under the root I had my foot on and left me half hanging. Back on terra firma I took myself back to the car to report the sad news to my daughter. Thanks for the hunt Temingi. Maybe another time.
So here is the low down on this one, it is actually not all that low down.
This is the fourth time i have tried to find this thistle genus and testia species in this location. Along the way I have found orchids, bottles, a dead echidna, some lively ants and mosquitos, three squalls of rain, a dead cat, an Opuntia cactus, a grasshopper, an array of arachnids, moths and butterflies and, the end of my own tether, but not it's!
Going by the documentaries i have seen, the best way to look for a "rare" species -is to enlist knowledgeable persons and put together a team of keen adventurous types to help you out, along with satellite imagery and with sound and video equipment and then carefully approach the area you think it may be, deploy all your gear and see if you can record a sighting. Or if you are really old fashioned you can kill and "preserve" a sample or two - exhibit in absentia - the Dodo.
Scientifically speaking - evidence is required to prove that your species does exist at this location; here is the thing, my sound and video equipment failed to capture this one - but i definitely saw it here, and have an eyewitness to this - one of those "knowledgeable persons" that I mentioned earlier, but other than that - you are just going to have to take my word for it that it does indeed exist here. And if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it - you will note that I "tagged" it before I released it back into the wild, in the best imitation of Harry Butler and Sir David Attenborough I could manage under the circumstances.
This is a glorious place to cache - which is just as well since it is unlikely to be "quick find". But as the page says - you can - if you look super carefully, in the correct place - see it's tether.

With help from some previous finders and then some very specific and in person help from the CO, I managed to find this cache today. My advice is not to stray too high. I'd been searching way too high.
Thanks Temingi

Spent 20 minutes searching for this to no avail. Went back to the car and read some logs, one of which had a photo. Spent another 20 minutes finding that exact spot and searching, but to no avail. Sent out some feelers to some previous finders and got some advice. Hopefully tomorrow will be more fruitful.
I'd say that once you combine the location, the oddness of the listing (what is it trying to tell me?) and the poor GPS reception that the D for this one is at least a 4.5. So many hiding spots for a micro within the 7m accuracy my Montana is giving me.

This was indeed testing, deep leaves, crumbling branches, lots of hiding places, dodgy reception, not our idea of fun in a new location. Lost interest and returned to the van park.
**# 24935** Found on our 2019 winter escape trip to Qld with Mrs Roosta.
Another fine sunny Winter day for a drive around at Yeppoon.
Not many muggles around today and a few good safe hides.
Well it certainly did as expected. I had some help but it's still an evil hide.
Thanks for the cache Temingi,

Caching in and around the area, we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
After a second look for this cache I finally came up with the goods. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks Temingi for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Even though there are 5 DNFs in a row
The cache is still in place. It is a 3D/3T
So you just need to keep looking.

Searched around the tree roots which thankfully had secure places to grip. Didn’t manage to find this one. Thanks anyway.
Bloody ankle twisting, splinter riddled cache. Be back soon with chainsaw and metal detector.
No luck today. Had a good look around with some help from stuntednob and PJSTKS. We’ll be back to have another go.
Yep tested us all right. Spent quite a bit of time with Joe_94 & Stuntednob climbed all over the place looked in every nook and cranny but no prize. We will return
Ok so I’ve been here 5 times now and had no luck gps in settling on a smiley location , I have enjoyed my time scaling these cliffs with both my sisters , not many caches get the better of me but this one did , was standing at the posted Coords when Cache was found but I was still several metres away , so I missed out on the ftf by that much , a fun time was had none the less and look forward to revisiting this area with my family to find more Dirty little caches ️

Having driven past this spot soooooo many times, I knew straight away when I read the description where it was going to be, I wan't disappointed either. Map confirmed my fear
Oh well
We decided to join the masses and check it out
Ratdog was enthralled by the bird nest shown in Bertoadys photos too, many butterflies here too.
Mrs Roddy C came up with the goods, not much space up there
we shall come back another time

no luck yesterday,
so I thought I would sneak back after the CO's nearby event
but my plans were announced to the attendees
I raced off to GZ, got there first, and was on the wall
... when I was soon joined by the masses
with a joint search underway
a few of us scoured the locale, with some others offering advice from above and below.
we shuffled around for awhile
and just as I had determined that enough time was spent,
and started making my way down ...
Mrs RoddyC came up with the prize
congratulations,
... damn and I thought I had looked there too
guessing that I must have only had a boys look too
thanks for the cache Temingi
(at least I don't have to add this one to my growing list of DNF's to redo )
cheers

I spent a few hours here after going to a few other caches closer to the event this morning held by the CO of this one. It's a lovely spot to while away your time. Lots to see in here, maybe even a cache - one day......

Nah! I can't quite write one word for this cache. So here's our real log:
We came across your cache, Temingi, after a "certain event".
Now Temingi's logs are usually just one word. Temingi's caches are usually quite tricky. Temingi's hints are as sparse as the waters in Lake Eyre. In contrast, Temingi's appreciation of logs on his caches is quite warm. Now I can see the smile on Mr Temingi's face as he is reading this log.

After attending the nearby event a group of us decended on this lovely piece of rainforest. What a gorgeous fig tree. Looking up, how did we all squeeze into that little space. With Mrs Roddy signing for us all, a great find, thanks Temingi.
This one has been a topic of conversation over the last two days. Hours spent searching but no positive result. At the event this morning we talked about it together and at about 1100 several of us made our way to the parking spot near GZ. We then walked to area of GZ and about 8 of us started searing and climbing. After about twenty minutes Mrs RoddyC made the find. I was only about a meter away. Good find. Log signed with our names and CO arrived to watch the fun and games. We all talked for a little while longer then went our indepandant ways. Favourite point from me. TFTC Temingi.
Tested indeed. ...
Egged on by the CO
Stopped in and had a look.
And look is all i did.
Ok climbed and poked and prodded as well, but still came away (after what I determined was eough time wasted) empty handed.
