Unable to log as I didn’t have a pen

On the Gold Coast with my boyfriend who had a conference to attend today so entertaining myself running and geocaching! Not used to this hot weather given I'm from Canberra! Had a great time! 15 leisurely kms along the beach front and found a few geocaches!

Sat under the shelter on a sunny day, looked around for a bit, then went for a thoughtful short stroll, and there it was waiting for us.

Well camo’d. It’s a tough series.

I was in the area doing cache maintenance and as I was parked reasonably close to this one I took the stroll along the path. There were plenty of muggles passing by but not took any notice of my activities. It didn't take long to search in the right spot and come up with the cache.

I was staying in the Gold Coast with my sister, brother and their spouses. My sister was attending a conference so while she was at her conference today I took the bus down to Burleigh and walked back to our hotel along the coast finding and DNFing caches along the way. The weather was perfect compared to my home state of Minnesota US where we have lots of snow and freezing temperatures.

I found another one. I think I was finally figuring these out but now I was passed them and needed to get going. TFTC SL

2nd did not find today super hard to find if it was there. I’m with my juggle dad and he is wondering why I am wasting my time. It’s very hard to explain to someone who thinks they know better.

No lid on container anymore so log was completely wet on a day like today. Also the papers is full of names pretty sure i wrote my name over an old faded one so need new paper aswell. Tough find though since i only now understand the hint. Tftc

Mr A found it, on a Sunday morning walk. With the sun out, there were plenty of muggles out for their walk as well.

On our first family trip to Burleigh and wanted to log a few finds before heading back to Newcastle.

Out walking the grandbaby and dog along this beautiful stretch of coast, on a balmy evening.
Lots of folk out and about exercising etc, but none stopped long enough to take any notice of what we were doing. Soon located the nicely concealed cache, thanks to the hint. Signed log and returned as found. Very nicely done. TFTC.

Quick find for the first of the day. Had a swim and now off for a wander. Great way to spend an RDO

At our last find Mrs Woodyrothwell found a slug that had attached itself to her ear. In the process of removing it she had somehow moved an earring clasp inside her ear lobe. Well that spelt danger and I knew that if I didn’t remove it the day was going to be ruined.

I thought about the whole ripping a band-aid thing off and if the clasp could disappear than I could force it to reappear. I didn’t think that she needed another piercing big enough to drive a Mack truck through so I carefully (very bloody carefully) maneuvered it back out and saved a life.

In the end we spent so much time trying to perform amateur surgery that we ran out of time to walk the Burleigh foreshore. We decided to look for just this cache that was closest to the car and avowed to come back at a later time to find the rest. tftc

Really enjoying the walk along Burleigh with TripleTurmoil… there’s just ssooooo much to look at….

TripleTurmoil pointed out the cache which was out in the open with the lid detached…. TripleTurmoil retrieved the lid and we returned the container to a more appropriate location…

Clever cache. Quickly found

Today is my birthday (21 again, honest) so as a present to myself, I ditched the family and headed out for some caching.

I headed up the Oceanwalk as there were far too many people around nearer town, so it was quiet enough to spend some time searching. The container was open, so making it stand out in it's surroundings.

Surprisingly quick find but it helps that it is early and most are intend on exercisimg. Interesting history.

We finally got back to do the BB trail. This cache is so cleverly disguised. Second time looking with extra help. Tftc

Can't believe it's taken two attempts to find this. Signed the log in pencil as was damp and my own wouldn't write. TFTC this one made me work for it.

Today's caching took us to the Gold Coast again and I was joined with RoddyC, Hatsoff and GrannySmith1947. It took a little while to find as there were Muggles about and that slowed us down. Read and reread the logs heaps. It was a process of elimination before we were on the right track and eventually it was BINGO. Log signed and then replaced where found. TFTC

Found! Fantastic cache, I truly enjoyed it... my wife... however. Apologies for the writing in the middle, but it is the only spot our pen would work on the paper.

Won't lie, probably wouldn't of found if not for my obsessing over a previous cachers extraction tool that didn't quite match its siblings.

As we searched for an hour we no luck we thought we would move on to the next BB series. When we came back, we had success!

Christ we very nearly didn't find this one. Very cleverly camoflagged but another cacher had made it extremely difficult to spot when they put it back.

We almost gave up on this one. We had hunted high, we had hunted low. We remarked on the vast amount of stuff that looked abandoned in the picnic shelter. Along came a muggle and asked if we were hunting animals or birds.

Turns out the stuff in the picnic shelter was hers. We explained what we were doing and that we had not been able to find it. then as we were chatting there it was.

Our muggle brought us good luck and a favourite point for this one.

Time for a bit of a wander along the beach, collecting this series. I got 7 smileys with 2 DNFs.

This one took a bit of searching, and a lady came up curious as to what we were doing, so we explained the game to her. She reckoned she was our good luck for making the find! It's a clever hide. TFTC, Auswanderers.

Had a nice rainy, overcast day....so little muggles around on this usually busy strip!
The extra time was helpful to look, and we avenged another DNF. Once again, thankyou for an awesome cache!

GPS wouldn't 0 in on GZ, it was placing me across the road. Will attempt again on the walk back.

Wasn't able to stick around and have a proper look. I'm pressed for time and have to make it back to the car. Will try again hopefully soon

I’ve looked for this a long time ago, today was a quick find though. Perhaps it was muggled last time as it was easily spotted.

Down the coast for a few days and since the weather isn’t conducive for a swim what better to do than cache!! Spent many hours walking this path, reading many logs and searching for ages and only found 3 out of 12 caches. Thanks Auswanderers the series. Maybe we’ll try again one day!
