Awesome cache to have fun with others at the other side of the world! we got in contact with each other and sorted out our respective coordinate finals. Enjoyed immensely so an easy no hassle find. Joint effort with 2oldsobos in Oregon, thanks heaps for the placements SIB & porkwatch & GoldenStateBoy. favefor both of the caches tftm

13-Aug-22
We plan to be at crater lake, Oregon in October. Looking for someone in nz who would like to swap coords.

19-Apr-22
Found with the help of rattll in NZ! Saw a couple muggles on my way, and they led me right to the cache (well, their prints did, they kept on going right past it and I lost sight of them, so I ended up having to find it on my own. Signed with my name plus rattll's (and even remembered to use non-US date format on that half!). Selfie, too. It was pretty windy, but shows a little of what the local scenery is like as well. Thanks for the help, rattll, and good luck finding your half!

Thanks so much for placing this cache to keep the game going. Unfortunately our previous caching partner for this cache was not in a position to sign the log in New Zealand. However HAL2929 reached out and we exchanged information and we signed the Oregon log today for HAL2929, see photo. The log in New Zealand should also be signed today. Thanks Porkwatch and Team for this great geocache. Favorite for sure;) Found using Cachly on my iPhone XII that was assisted by a Bad Elf GPS Pro+Jean and DeWayne

01-Apr-22

Cache 663 - Cache exchange found with Geo51 ️ - teamwork cache complete Thanks to porkwatch and southlandicebergs for creating this little community’s cache and allowing us to log both

24-Apr-21
I was talking to one of the owners of this cache a couple days ago (porkwatch) and he reminded me of this one which I had seen a couple of times and kinda overlooked it so I decided to give it another look and went out and grabbed the first waypoint and Messaged TDronsfield and got a quick response and we exchanged cords and I ran out there in the evening yesterday just before work and grabbed the final.

What a great idea for a cache and I would highly recommend giving it a try since its always nice to meet new cachers and its a fairly simple one to do. And you get to log a cache in both countries. Thanks for the hide and the fun. Giving it a favorite for the fun and creativity.

04-Sep-20
WHEW!!!

This is the longest running Multi we have done. We found the first set of coordinates on 09/13/19 - and found a co-conspirator (NZ Bozzy) soon after. By 09/21/19 we had the final for this multi, and have been waiting to come over and get it. This was our first, must do cache.

At ground zero, we found many places for a cache - but after looking at some great hiding locations, we turned around and almost poked our eye out with the cache container. Big Grin

oopsie!!! just realized we signed the log with Aug 4 - d'oh!

Thanks for the fun adventure!

02-Nov-19
Done! We arrived in Southland today and one of our first tasks was to pick up this cache. We'd found the OR one last August. Thanks to you both for this great combo of caches. TFTC

11-Oct-19
I checked the cache prior to winter setting in. I added a new log even though the old one has plenty of room. Everything is hunky-dory.

13-Sep-19
Found the New Zealand coordinates.... we need a partner from there to help us out! Very Happy

21-Aug-19
First step done. We'll be arriving in NZ late October, will be going after Southland by early November. Can't wait!

12-Aug-19
With the help of OrangeCrash and GeoDog both myself and Saethwr can claim this find.
I physically visited Oregon with my family as teenager back in 1979 - well before any technology that would have made caching possible was around. No mobile phones, though Dad was tempted at get a CB radio we didn't. We bought a station wagon and a pop top type camper in Califoria and our family of 6 made our way around the states anti clockwise. We had 2 dates to be in places and the rest of the time went where things were interesting. One of the must dos was a Lions Convention in Montreal and the other a 4th July parade in the small town of Albert Lea, MN. That was dad's name and he was the grand Marshall of the parade and make an honorary colonel of the Minesota Nation Guard. Quite overwhelming for kids from a little NZ town.
The third set date was our flights out, so it wasn't as leisurely as usual as we came down the Pacific Coast!
Thanks for a virtual trip back and a trip down memory lane.
Thanks for the smilie Porkwatch and southlandicebergs.

After getting the coordinates last week from Ruru_nz I stopped by today while coming back from my family reunion. It was an easy walk to GZ in a familiar area. Then the fun started. It took me almost an hour and a half to find the cache. Even with help from two previous finders. Thanks Trekks and RedRum13. Since my name had already been signed on the New Zealand cache I couldn't give up on it. Finally I turned just the right way in just the right place and spotted the cache. Whew! That was a tough one for me to find. I got Ruru_nz and Saethwr on the log as the New Zealand cachers along with Geo Dogs and mine on as the Oregon cachers. Geo Dogs and I found the first stage together. In fact he is the one that found it. Thank you for our partners in New Zealand Ruru_nz and Saethwr. This was a great cache to work on. Thanks Porkwatch and southlandicebergs. TFTC SL.

11-Aug-19
SRY for the late log!! I thought I had logged this one but I hadn't! Anyway, a lot has happened since we partnered up with some NZ cachers to make this unique grab. Love this novel idea for a cache as I probably will never make it to New Zealand (not for a lack of wanting!) but still get to meet people from there. This gets a fav point from me!

09-Aug-19
I saw a similar one like this when I first started caching, which just added to my amazement of the diversity of styles and ways of getting that smiley on the map. I was clueless at the time and didn’t do it though. This one in particular, in my opinion, is incredibly remarkable and am glad to have experienced it!! I had fun google Earthing the finale in New Zealand and the surrounding area. I hope to find other sister caches to connect with others from around the world. RaynPengi was my contact and I headed back to sign today........Thank you Porkwatch & southlandicebergs :::::::::::::::::

Geo Dogs and I have the information from Oregon. Will be glad to exchange information Ruru_NZ.

Hi from Southland, New Zealand.
If you have the info I need we can swap as I've just collected the information you need.

23-Jul-19
Exchanged coords with slow&velvet. It seems it's ok to log this cache as found as well as the NZ one, as others are doing. Thanks for this exchange cache what a cool idea! Fave-ing

22-Jul-19
We found the waypoint Saturday, then saw a posting from Wombat1234 that she had the coordinates we needed. I sent a message and we teamed up for our final caches. We made another trip to Redmond today because we were anxious to find the cache. The cache was quite wet so we put it out in the sun and dried it out. We were surprised that container wasn't more waterproof. Thanks for the find, we enjoyed the experience of contacting another cacher to partner for the cache. I'm posting pictures we took when we found the waypoint and pictures of the log drying and the final signature. Sorry about 3 copies of the same photo. That was an accident. If anyone knows how to delete the extra copies send me a message. Thanks

27-Apr-19
DadwithTools, Hwy88 and I walked down and around to GZ. We got the information for the sister cache and will post a note to find someone to share information with. Thanks for encouraging us to participate in this interesting exchange. A beautiful warm afternoon. Thanks for encouraging us to check out this area. TFTH

Yes I found it. Got a message from a cacher in Oregon who wanted to find the cache in New Zealand. So in the true spirit of Geocaching contacted Markellie who was kind enough to help me find the cache in Oregon. A few messages and the coords were swapped and off to find the cache. Both names entered in the logbook. Thanks for the help Markellie. Happy Caching.

I have never done a cache like this before. I teamed up with granville86a in the southern hemisphere. I felt bad it took me 2 days to finish my end of things wile it took my partner only about two hours to log their side. Thanks for a fun challenge Porkwatch and southlandicebergs. Thanks also granville86a for the help.

30-Mar-19
Thanks to UBAD for messaging me, together we were able to sign each log in each location. I signed the one here in Southland on March 31, it's late Autumn here and we've had a beautiful sunny 25°c day today. Thanks UBAD

Well I just kinda lucked into this deal. After reading back logs I found a highly motivated Cacher in New Zealand.

Long story short, I contacted SearchWisely and just like magic I now have a cache in NZ and a new caching friend.

Thanks to Porkwatch and southlandicebergs for setting this up, so cool. Favorite added.

02-Feb-19
thanks to AnnieLin we were able to finish this great cache, thanks

28-Jan-19
Yes...Very cool idea. My new friends are Mrandmrschosen1978 from NZ. We traded information and the geodog and I went out today and finished the USA side of the puzzle. Enjoyed getting to know (if only a little) a geocaching couple from another country. Agree, coordinates are off and the log is soaked, but the idea and execution was excellent. FAVORITE FOR SURE! Cache on!

25-Jan-19

Came over from Philomath for a great day of caching. Worked on the Old Road series, got a couple challenge caches, found some cool gadget caches, and even messaged a Kiwi for a multi!

We stopped and did the first stage in late morning. Contacted downsouthinv and got a response within 30-60 minutes. We were actually quite surprised because we didn't know the time change, but were quite excited. He's been waiting patiently since October 2018 for a little help so the deal was consimated! We exchanged coordinates, and with our new info, headed to the final. Spent quite a bit of time looking at GZ, but didn't want to fail with downsouthinv on the other end. So kept looking and looking, and finally made the find! Woo hoo! So team BryShaClay and downsouthinv's names are on the log. Thanks for a great cache concept! Loved it and gets a fav point from me.

I found the 1st waypoint after a short search and went home to contact a New Zealander, I sent a message to Kiscardi and got a response in shot order. After receiving the necessary info headed back the next day late afternoon in the fog and could not locate the cache. Came back the next day in the sunshine and after reading hydnseks log, found the little bugger. My cords too were about 30 feet off on my garmin. Wish I had a baggie as it was hard to put ink on the wet log. Many thanks to Kiscardi in N Z for the assist and now both of our names are on the log...…….TFTC

Thanks to EZ-Ryderz for logging my find. Sorry about your difficulties locating.
Exciting to try a new way of caching and also learn about another part of the world.
And be in contact with someone from Oregon to help me locate a cache here.

A big thank you to Porkwatch and Southland Icebergs for the fun!

Logging with permission. Thanks for helping set this experience up. No snow here for Christmas. Temp in the south island Christchurch close to 20 degrees C. Daughter in the real cold in Whistler at present.

The cache on the US side is quick grab and dash but the idea behind the cache makes it special. It was fun cache which encouraged me to reach out to another cacher across the ocean. I will record as of today since that is the day I received the email and confirmation picture of the log. It was actually signed on 11/17 based on the time distance. The cache in the Southland appears to be ain a nice park according to the pictures attached.
A special thank you to c@chetracker in Southland for helping me to be able to log this cache for a smiley.

With the help of my NZ caching buddy, Tultigger, we found the final. Love coming here but GZ for this cache is not typical of the beautiful area. Had to search for this well hidden cache. Fun concept for a multi, Porkwatch, you are always challenging us. TFTC FP
