We found the cache waterlogged and could not sign. The GZ tree is now surrounded by 'deep' water that is now part of a stream flowing all around (see photos).
Sadly this cache could not be replaced as there is nowhere dry to place it for now. We think that the closest location that is dry is too far away from the current GZ. Sorry my friend otherwise we would have replaced it. TFTC ALL7.
**Our Morning**
Yesterday evening the group had planned a local early morning mountain-bike cycle however the high cold winds put an end to that adventure.
With grandkid duties, mid-afternoon and into the weekend, my caching buddies picked me up early for a different unplanned outing. They were just targeting a string of caches along Old Cooma Road (and surrounds) starting from the Monaro Hwy end.
**Cache Maintenance**
Of the caches we targeted a number were missing we replaced, one cache hwe did not replace as GZ is currently a waterway, and a number needed new plastic sleeves and logs as they were either mouldy, very wet or just missing. In summary we replaced 3 missing caches, and added several new logs.
There are some logs that were borderline for signing that we left as they were so please bring some fresh logs/plastic slips next time you are out this way. Sadly we run out of caching supplies today not having brought much with us on this short outing.

Out for a morning run this side of town to grab a few caches.
DNF'd a few months ago and still no joy today, so I replaced the cache. It is now a preform tube at the bottom of the large stump. Push in at the base facing the road it should be an easy find.
Thanks for the series along here ALL7...

DNF No luck here today, too good for me. Maybe a case of cache blindness, I will try another time.
The grass is really long around here and a lot of water has gone through….and still is. I had my trusty pole and gave the area a good prod but no luck

A DNF I’d forgotten about. Deep pools of water around GZ and looking at the hint my guess is the cache could be under water. Couldn’t see it, so not really sure.
Thanks anyway ALL7....

We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.
Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.
Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.
We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! [^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.
A sincere thanks to ALL7 for placing these caches, including the enjoyable little series.

Day 4 of our trip to Queanbeyan, and surrounding areas.
Now travelling alone as the other teams in our group for the past couple of days,
are either heading north to the mega, or chasing other caches.
We completed this trail, but had a few DNFs along the way.
Many thanks for placing this cache, ALL7, for us and others to find.

It’s almost swimming. Strange that there’s no log entry except mine after 4 July
I recently noticed that I was really close to qualifying for a local challenge based upon total traditionals found. Today I added a bit of roadside power trailing to my caching to-do list. This series got me really close to getting across the line. TFTH
A quick park and grab with Lpud on the way back from London Bridge. Lovely Sunday afternoon drive. TFTC
Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to ALL7 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Cache 5722 on 5 Feb 2020.
Despite the awful smoke, I was committed to grabbing a few caches today, and the last of the Old Cooma Rd series was just the numbers of caches I wanted to find. All caches found quickly, one was found on the ground and replaced in accordance with the hint. Bobl27 kept me safe driving and steering clear of the trucks and buses that thundered along.
Thanks ALL7 for the cache and the fun!

Found on a big Saturday getting lots of caches; which included getting this series of caches. Driving through this area of the country was very lovely; with all of the old gum trees and the views of the mountains and Googong. Parking was occasionally a challenge, where I sometimes had to drive back the way we came to get caches out-of-order due to more appropriate parking on that side of the road or due to cars behind me. Neverthless, was a very fun drive. Each cache was a quick find. TFTC ALL7!
Was amazed to find this well placed cache still here despite a new dam being excavated only meters away and a barrier of impaled hay bales in place between the trees. But there it was, in perfect condition and a FTsign the new log! Thanks, All7
Out and about early to grab a few caches near Queanbeyan before heading to Goulburn for the day. The container was damaged and the log completely soaked. Thanks ALL7.
The log is very wet and almost unwritable. Didn't have a suitable replacement but probably wouldn't have helped as the cache has little weather protection of any kind. TFTC ALL7
Second last find in this series while out and about having a good time with phetlern, gonefishen07, zobo04, alansee and muzza on a spectacular Autumn day. Signed log as GAMPAZ. TFTC ALL7.

Out for an afternoon's exercise - rogaine training. Afterwards I grabbed three of this series in case they were lost as part of the roadworks. All found ok. The lid of this one was missing. The log was quite wet, but I still managed to leave a mark. TFTC.

Found 11:21 am with partner and her grand daughter. We went to visit her sons new house that they are building here in Googong. On the return journey doing some caches. Found the cache after a very brief look around. The grand daughter got curious what I was doing and this time I took her along but she was to scared to lift the cover. Showed her what was underneath unfortunately the container had nothing other than the log book. Note there is no proper lid anymore. Signed the log and returned to its hide. Road works in the area. I was apprehensive if this would still be there but still is.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC
Find # 4490 We repaired the cache with camo tape from our box of tricks.
Found with sesblocker, Aries44duo.
Great coordinates made for an easy find.
We are staying at Queanbeyan showground for the "Clear Waters" Mega event. This is day six of our mega adventure.
As requested by the organising committee, we have abreviated our caching name to "TN".

Attending the Queanbeyan Clear Waters mega event, this was a day packed with hikes and power trails. Our team "LUCKY9" started off the day walking around Googong Dam targeting the Queen geocache trail, before then heading south through Royalla and visiting Michelago, and then heading north via Burra. A massive day caching indeed in great weather.
A drive along Old Cooma Road with intermittent roadworks and construction. This geocache didn't take long to find, and there was some damage to the cache container as observed during our visit. Thanks ALL7.

Day 2 of the Mega and Mrs Snakepiters was out caching with Di Morgan, and Happy Feet, while I attended the FREE seminars in camp . Although Di was safely put in the rear booster seat for her protection today, she still managed to fall. If this is going to be a daily caching activity we will have to start capturing the event. Working down the Old Cooma Road as there are still plently of caches non QBN/CAN cachers have not found

Headed down to Queanbeyan for the Clear Waters Mega event over Easter with steeba. We set ourselves a goal of bolstering our find count by doing some of the numerous powertrails that dot the surrounding area.
Found the Burra and Cooma Rd powertrail series of caches while hanging around the southern area on Good Friday. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches we found.

SecretSquirrel-BJC and I had no luck with this one today. Suggest CO check GZ.
So there is a bit of widening of the road happening here and some clearing of trees. This one may be missing.
An awesome day out and about picking up geocaches with FFLL#1 was planned. Fortunately for us, the rain stayed away however the dust storm had rolled into town. We had a couple trails we had our eyes on to get completed, which we finished nice and quickly, before moving onto a much wanted puzzle cache across the ACT and then off for some more trail caches. All in all, finished up with 64 finds for the day so quite a successful day
Apologies for generic logs, we spent the day collecting a number of finds, but we also collected a whole heap of glass bottles, plastic bottles and cans from the side of the road... The Ute tray has quite a stack to sort through lol.
Thanks for the cache hide ALL7 and FFLL#1 for another great caching adventure with lots of laughter

A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to head out geocaching if the weather cleared. We thought that we would head to this area to finish off Old Cooma and Kelly Road, and make a start on the caches along Uriarra Road.

My First of a 9 day caching road-trip holiday I headed further South than usual, with the goal of finding as many caches as possible (and a few select ones for my stats). I'm just glad the temperature hasn't reached the highs yet.
Lots of dead whildlife scattered along the country roads, with the worst right near gz, I had to make the log duties as quick as possible to avoid the stench.
I found a total of 104 today.
Thanks for the caches.

I'm out today to get numbers up. My boyfriend doesn't believe I can catch him, so here I am.
There is an impressive stone wall on the opposite side of the road and with my GPS arrow playing up my stomach dropped for a minute. It proved unnecessary however with the cache found quickly and in good condition. Nice to see a dam with water in it.

Took to roads South with dty73 and Aquilus1 on a fantastic Winter’s day in a bid to find as many of the new power trail caches as possible (and other established caches where convenient). Big numbers were expected, and we weren’t disappointed.
Met up Northside at a comfortable 8.30am and headed towards passport control. Visas in order at Immigration we crossed the border to the Southside without incident. Eventually onto the Monaro Highway and wasn’t there a lot of traffic heading towards Canberra. End of school holidays/returning home from the snow traffic I guess. Don’t think it stopped all day, progressively just getting busier and busier.
Started then with a few early caches on the highway, with a left soon onto Williamsdale Road. Finds aplenty as we drove on, taking a right at the intersection onto Burra Road. More finds came thick and fast, with only the one DNF (of the day). Detouring we headed up Tinderry Road to the summit for some bonus finds, running into a few fellow cachers not far from the top, collectively then finding several more together. Great views afforded down and across the open expanse, snow sighted in the distance. Descended slowly back down the well maintained dirt road to the Burra Road trail and continued into Michelago. A cache at the neat and tidy train station followed by a ‘wished it was quick’ stop at the public facilities. Apparently an urgent ‘Needs Maintenance’ was sorely needed (fortunately for me I had previously taken a quick break, so no need for use here).
Back out to the highway and South for a few more, before retracing our steps and continuing North to Kelly Road. As a quick aside, we noticed a ‘throw down’ at one GZ, just past the turn into Michelago (North side). These types of caches may have a place in the game, if permission is sought and granted by the CO, or the CO has long since left the game, but, as this was part of the new power trail, rehidden by a previous finder two days before, exactly where it should be, the newly ‘deposited’ cache was removed. As a consequence, two particular cachers from the South Coast may wish to revisit and log their find, properly.
Ran again into the same rascals thereabouts that we were with along Tinderry. Continued conversations as we continually pulled up almost together with over the next 30 minutes before eventually heading our separate ways. Old Cooma Road next, and a quick stroll into a storm water drain before continuing the trail to the top of Burra Road. ‘It up’ed a few times before our final leg into Googong, finding the last caches for the day.
Time then to head home before we turned into Googonians, or, it was getting dark, it was already considerably cooler, and we were getting hungry. Dropped Aquilius1 and dty73 back at the carpark before heading over to the geoSister’s place who had been looking after The Matetrix for the day. Three cold refreshing crownies and a hot roast chicken with honey carrots, peas and broccoli dinner later, I was stuffed!!
Apologies for the generic logs, specifics will be added where pertinent. Details may not be 100% accurate, but are 100% how I recall them.
Thanks to dty73 and Aquilus1 for the great company and ALL the leg work, and andrewbt/LuckyL10n/Albida33 for the ‘shared’ finds.
And of course special thanks to ALL7 and all other CO's for all the hard work, keep it up.
Where to next?

I had the day planned with IamCoust and Aquilus1 to hit up the newer trails down south to help obtain the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs. Aquilus1 and I had already collected all 100 caches that we required and IamCoust had less than half needed, however IamCoust and I had also a plan to bet our own personal best days to catch over 115 caches in a day. And Aquilus1 can never say no to a caching adventure.
We left the north side at 8:30am and found the last cache around 4:30/5pm. We had taken our time, but did concentrate mainly on those park and grabs.
We had a blast, the weather was perfect, the company couldn't have been better and we even ran into fellow caching friends - LuckyL10n, Andrewbt and Albida33 who we travelled with to a few caches.
Most finds were good except one DNF at Burra #24 (to which Aquilus1 had previously found so had an idea of what and where we needed to look), one cache had literally a "throw down cache" which I found on the ground away from the sign, but Aquilus1 found the original cache pretty much straight away, but also found it funny that these cachers "found" the missing Burra #24 and didn't throw down one there (unless "it" went missing too)?? Stranger things have happened I guess.
This cache though, again all good.
I appreciate all the effort ALL7!! Great work placing and maintaining them all. TFTC!!!

#8256 - 09:08; A plan was hatched with albida33 a couple of weeks ago to hit the new trails along the roads leading to and from Burra and places nearby. An encounter at a recent event saw andrewbt join the mission and so it was we headed off today on a mission which would ultimately see me collect 132 finds with just a single DNF, while the others picked up more or less the same numbers. The weather was ideal and most of the caches were quickly located, although we did do some head scratching on a couple of occasions. Many of the logs were signed LL, a33 and abt or some combination thereof rather than consume a lot of space. We had now reached the Old Cooma Road series and working in reverse, we collected this one as we headed south. TFTC ALL 7
