After our Christmas brekkie we headed out for a drive to take in the countryside and pick up a few caches. Husband really enjoyed looking at all the pivots around and about and seeing what the farmers were doing here (farmer back home). The river looked glorious today.Quick find and sign TFTC 2ystassies
Today was set aside for a caching expedition, so we have planned one around Railton, Merseylea, Stoodley, Kimberley and Lovett's Flats. Got a "baker's dozen" in mind ! #3 on our trail this morning. Lots of big round bales being made around here today, and a TasMac mechanic visiting the farm as well. All good at GZ. Thanks for another MTM cache 2y's ones.
Super fast find on a day out road tripping with the family with no destination in mind. TFTCFound with LittleBoo17
Deviating off the busy highway much quieter and relaxing. Some guys arrived to try fishing in the river, lovely day for it. The new bridge very sturdy now TFTC
Taking the back roads home and collecting a few caches along the way and this was one of them. Cache and the contents are in good condition
With localised debris, we thought this cache might be missing. But luckily it was in place. It had, however, been filled with water and although dry, the log was saturated. Log has been replaced with a fresh one. Found with Geo Maggie2. Found, stamped and replaced, with Maggie and Mollie, my GeoWesties, while roaming around Tasmania with our motorhome “Mylittlebus” looking for content for our TASMANIA ALL OVER facebook. Join us there. Thanks for placing this cache (and others), keeping us on our exploring toes.
There was much evidence of the floods here. The water had gone right over the bridge, even though it was a fairway up in the air. The geocache was hemmed in by rubbish at both ends. The log was extremely wet and Angus 88 replaced it. Looks like part of the old fridge was washed away as well. We have had a lovely day out looking for all these geocaches. We have seen some beautiful scenery and lovely spots to visit again. Thanks for maintaining these geocaches.
Thanks for the cache 2y'stassies.
RLD4963 and I were off to the northwest coast for a couple of days for some geocaching, and to attend a friend's play in Burnie on Saturday night.
After enjoying the play last night, today we decided to grab a few more caches as we made our way back to Hobart.
We have found a couple of the 'MTM' series over the last couple of days, always interesting to read about the history of the area.
A nice quick find at GZ.

Out and about with 1 Lil Rafa caching for the GC reach the peak game and this was a last minute replacement for an Angus cache who was not at church, what a lovely three days we had with a trip to tasmazia a trip to Burnie and accommodation at sassafras. TFTC TNLN log dry.
We are spending the day in the North West exploring and collecting as many outstanding and previous dnf caches as practical. It’s a beautiful winters day a full blanket of frost everywhere this morning and as the sun rises the mist does too. Wonderfully crisp and sunny .
An impressive and surprisingly very modern bridge for the area. A few very friendly cows close by curious at what we were doing. A nice park and grab cache. TFTC

Nice find and nice new bridge. Bet the locals are happy with it. Thanks for the series.
Crossed the bridge, claimed the county

Aquilus1 and I have been on a mission.....a mission to collect Australian states/counties. The target this time was Tasmania, with neither of us having found a cache yet in Tassie. So a loop was planned, starting/finishing in Lonny (even the plane pilot called it this!! Love that!). I was driving so my logs are a little more generic than Aquilus1's, my apologies.
Day #1 Leave Canberra at sparrows, transiting through Melbourne and collecting our car....first things first was to get the oldies along the cataract gorge, which was great as Aquilus1 had never been to Tassie before and its a great place to start. Onwards up the Tamar and then zigzagging across through Devonport, Burnie and eventually ending at Stanley.
Day #2 had us go back to Devonport for a FTF......yay! Then onto Hobart, via Queenstown! Long day through blizzards, hydro power and SO MUCH NOTHING! Beautiful nothing of course
Day #3 around Tassie.....into Huon valley, freezing to death in the water in Clarence, passed Port Arthur to see some caves and ending up in Sorrell
Day #4 was power trailing large letterboxes until we had to head back north to Lonny, via Buckland, Oatlands, Fingal and Scottsdale..... dodging wildlife after dark.....so scary!
Day #5 was a quick duck over to Flinders and back..... car rental place thought we were nuts! Then back to Canberra, safe and snug under my blanket for the -5 night.....now THATS cold!

Pretty place here and a new county find.
Trip log: Day 1 of our 5 day Tassie caching trip. With GreyHams we left Canberra very early and landing in Launceston it was a full day caching through till Stanley where we stopped for the night having found accomadation available.
Counties where our priority and with GreyHams awesome trip planning we had a list featuring some very select caches... as is always the case with our trips, if your cache made our list it had a quality we wanted, oldies, larges, counties, Jasmer loops featured high.
Snippets of history and scenic locations appeared through the day. It must be said it was damn cold at times yet some earlier walks had us down to T-shirts and the rain luckily passed through during one of the long drive stretches! The Esk river was great as was the Kimberley warm springs, so great to finally visit Tasmania, a first for me. Thanks for your cache that guided us on a full and enjoyable day!

Out and about for our second day on the road in Tassie. We woke up to rain and fog, so put on the coat and decided if in caches were to be found today, I'd have to suck it up. Stopped off and made some great find in some nice areas, despite the weather.
Heading out of town and grabbing a few along the way. There was plenty of room to pull over in the motorhome, so this was a quick park and grab.
Thanks 2y'stassies for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Today we completed some more of the MTM series that we found with whitewebbs. We have been in this area before and great to revisit again.
Cache and contents were in good condition.

After staying in Sheffield for a very quiet New Year's Eve we headed off with Tassie Trekkers to find a few more caches on the way to and in the forestry area around Railton and Latrobe and this was one of them. There were a lot of campers on both sides of the road camping near the river. A very pretty spot. TFTC
I was passing through here about a week ago and didn't realize that this cache was here. Today I corrected that oversight and made the stop for another find of the MTM Series.
Out collecting a GA nearby so did a quick loop past 2 MTM caches before returning home.
Quite wet underfoot out here so glad I never had to venture too far.
Haven't been on these roads for yrs.
A bit of a shock to see the new bridge as it looks out of place.
Soon had cache in hand with the cache and contents in top condition...TFTC 2y'stassies...much appreciated...cheers ST.

Quickly found and signed but the the muggles started to pass from all directions.
Finally got it back in place before crossing over and reading the signboard on the other side.

Missed this one this morning due to time restraints so wandered back tonight to grab a nice and dry but a little webby cache. Thanks again 2y'tassies for another great hide in a scenic location.
On the road heading north and picking up any caches that we haven’t got! A quick find at GZ with a nice size container and all in good order. Nice twisty road.
Thanks for placing this cache.

We were away during the 2016 floods so didn't realise the extent of the damage caused until we returned home. Had no idea that this bridge had been washed away and hadn't had a reason to visit the area and check out the new bridge until now.
What a great spot and lots of campers were set up near the bridge. Guess they must have known the property owners as there was a fence and gate preventing public access.
As for the cache it was easily found but very cobwebby in there!!!!
Thanks.

A great day out with JL Rockstar today to collect some caches around the Devonport/meander region. The main goal was to attend the event in Devonport for a very important 75th birthday.
Overall we found a total of 45 finds with 2 DNFs along the way.
Heaps of people camping here near the river. The cache was a quick drive by

Thanks for the hide, was nice to have a drive around the country side I haven't been around this area for many years. Could only imagine the damage the floods of 2016 done to this area.
