OCW PelDroedGwin Exploring Carnarvon for a few days. Cute little shelter near GZ. The DNF had me a little worried but no need, we had CIH quickly. Tftc
Wow what a great cache familysteiner, and such fun to find. Buddy the geodog helped us with this one. Found on October 14, 2024. # 9782
Thanks familysteiner for the cache. Its #2116 for us. We found your cache on Monday 7 October 2024. Took a while but eventually spotted the bison low down but above ground. Define nicely 4m off GZ on my iPhone
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine we have seen Edith Falls, Kunnurra and Bungles Bungle. Finally we cross the Pentecost-river to enter the Gibb RiverRoad . A lot to see like Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now return on the sealed road again . Further over Derby, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Karijini NP, Exmouth and now down the coast to Perth .After Coral Bay we headed further on the road and stopped for this one .Not a quick find, but the coords helped . Thankfully we read alot of the logs before we attempted to get to GZ and realised that we did not need to go into the bush....nice easy find once we set our perimeters! Not in the obvious spot but in the next obvious spot that we thought of!Interesting "Arboretum", good job on the Tree Society for their work!Thank you familysteiner for placing and maintaining Carnarvon Aboretum for us and others to find and enjoy.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 94 - Carnarvon Day 2. After a huge day yesterday, I was hoping for a relaxed day today. I started off with a visit to the Carnarvon Space museum. It is very impressive, they have lots of stuff, but not all of it is explianed. The mock up moon lander is very impressive and the outside dishes are huge. I ten headed into town to have lunch with dghoffy, another east coast cacher catch up. The afternoon then became a time to do the second set o labs and the rest of the traditional caches around town. I again met up with dghoffy and we did a few caches together. I had been thinking of an evening outing, but I was not up to it and had dinner in the van and an early night. Tomorrow is the drive to Coral Bay. The bush in this area looked fierce, so I was glad to read I did not have to go in. The cache was found a little further from where I was hoping than expected, but in a very reasonable spot. Thanks for the cache familysteiner48691.2 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & February 2020 Dwayyo 2 A#423**Albida**
Took a while to find this one, the sun was fading fast too but got there in the end. TFTC
Bit nippy this morning in Carnarvon, some caching should warm us up.Read through the logs and found some advice and cache was soon found.TFTC
On our Epic Convoy, off to Wooramel Station today. A fun quick find as were leaving town.TFTC
After realising I didn't need to venture into the bush in the dark after I had already done so, the cache was easily found. Tftc
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.An early morning find as we headed into town. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
On our travels we found ourselves in Carnarvon and took the opportunity to grab a few caches, after a quick look in all the usual spots we spotted a glint out the corner of my eye and bingo there it was, thanks for placing this fun cache
TFTC coordinates are about 4 m off and yes thank God you dont have to go into the deep bush
Took us a long time to find it, but got it eventually. The GPS was about 4m off for us. You dont need to go into the deep bush
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia for four or five weeks. Camped out along Milinya-Exmouth Road before heading southward to spend most of the day around Carnarvon and on to our next campsite somewhere near Overlander Roadhouse, finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the cache familysteiner!
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. Last night we camped south of Coral Bay and this morning we continued traveling south towards Carnarvon and beyond. The cache was a quick find and was in good condition. Thanks familysteiner for the cache.
Came into Carnarvon to get the car serviced so decided to grab some caches while we were waiting.Made a nice quick find here.TFTC
Camping trip to Gnaraloo Station Today's drive was from Gero to Carnarvon, and with no caches left to be found along that remote leg of the journey it was great to reach Carnarvon and clear up some stray dots around town. No idea how this one has been missed in the past but made sure to stop off here today and was rewarded with a nice quick find. All ok here today - TFTC

We leave Carnarvon this morning & as what often happens to us the closest cache to where we are staying seems to be the last one we find.
Didin't take long to find. The aboretum seems to have been neglected over the years.
Thanks for placing this cache

We are having a little bit of time off from helping our friends in Nanson we decided to head north to try and collect a few more LGA's and Lab caches and anything else that pops up on screen.
This looked like it was a fantastic idea back in 1988 but today it looks like it has been more or less forgotten which is a real shame after all the effort that was put in. On the upside there was no one around gz today which meant that we were free to search and we are happy to say that the cache was located right where the GPSr was pointing and the log book now contains our name.
Many thanks familysteiner for the cache and for showing us this location.

Heading North for a date with the whale sharks, and attempting to find a cache at each spot visited along the way.
This was a quick park and grab, although should have relied more on cache senses rather than phone GPS to locate it, as it had me all over the place!!
Once cache was spotted, log was soon signed and everything replaced as found. TFTC

Yippee for Carnarvon CO’s! I’m out and about on the trusty treadles AKA the MTB on a multi mission. Quick find at GZ. The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! In Carnarvon for a few days with plenty of time to explore. Have travelled WEST from home base 4200 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure to visit.
First day in Carnarvon, out and about, exploring the town, and finding some caches. We found this one easy enough, and as we were departing Freddo turned up, and had a short chat about caching. TFTC
Met Pool here. They had the cache in hand.
Heading north for one mintue of moon shadow. This is one of stops on a long journey.

Found this one, not where I first thought it might be. It's in good condition but the resident ant nest close by gets abit upset by your presence. Probably needs adult supervision.

Brilliant search!! Had fun looking for it, hint was confusing at first but with a Google search or two and keen eyes it will make sense and you will find it.
Thank you to the makers of this cache and good luck to the next people who attempt this geocache search.

Caravanning, Caching and hunting wildflowers around the state we got stuck here as our fridge died. What a great little town this is. Loved our 11 days here. Just not enough caches.
Found at 10pm. Was getting worried as my phone torch used up my phone battery and it was down to 5%. I was about to give up, so retraced my steps in line with GPSR but went 1 meter further and spotted it. Very grateful to the person who cut the grass as it would have been terrible in long grass in the dark. Cheers.
What a nice little hide!
Even nicer when I noticed the CO is an old friend !!
Hope your well Alison!!!

Nice quick find out the back of a good shelter as it is raining.

Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Made a quick find here while in town. Then came back, using this to introduce a new cacher.
Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

First I checked the fence, and then I followed the coords over the fence, both my phone and GPS today agreeing it was there. There was no sign of others searching here, so I returned back over the fence and was prepared for a DNF log, when I glanced back and spotted the cache. No need to go over the fence. There my was GPS showed four metres. Cache and log are good. TFTC familysteiner.
Day 18 of our Pilbara adventure & today we are headed south to Wooramel... After stopping for fuel & supplies we dropped by to find this one

Spwnt some time searching the structure before turning my attention elsewhere. TFTC familysteiner.
Found it, I was unsure reading the last log, but I didn't need to venture into the scarey grass TFTC
Found it. TFTC familysteiner. Spent more that my share of time here, I was just about on overtime. I had exhausted Plan A and also plan B. Tried common sense and that certianly was not a good idea. I was about to go to Plan C and that was to really consider why I am doing this thing called geocaching. But Hey ! I have a PACO card so I used it and discovered it was not in its position, it was AWOL. Cache has now been replaced and good to go so off I went. OOPs I was about 2k away and realised I had not done my duty on the log, so promptly returned. Now this is the good part. "It was a quick find"
TFTC took us way longer than it should have owing to co-ordinates bouncing around
