This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. Spent a bit of time today investigating some Forgotten Highways with ilook4geo. This was an easy enough find in the expected place. Thanks for the cache placement go to Nudge74.

Needing this LGA I scoured the map for something close to the highway and after reading some logs can see I’m not the only one with that idea. Container found quickly, signed and returned again. Thankyou for making a convenient stop for travellers!

Heading towards Brisbane after our modified Slim Dusty Kempsey trip, we stopped here to collect this one as it will be handy for the council challenge.
Cache quickly found, log signed and all replaced.

Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Three:

The third day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!
Up bright and early in Port Macquarie, we didn't get any caches here the night before so spent a small amount of time getting some interesting ones in the area before heading north. We were due to stay the night in Casino, NSW, our last night before heading over the border!

A long day today, our first and last cache finds were exactly 12 hours apart! Some of which was in pouring rain, but a great day!

We were running out of time in the day, and hadn't even driven half our distance yet! So pushed the caches to the side for a while and got some km's into the trip. buhfuhguh needed this LGA still however so we located the quickest P&G off the highway. This one looked like a close and easy diversion, so we pulled off the highway and buhfuhguh jumped out for a quick sign and replace! Perfect

Found during my Mega Roadtrip to the Dayboro Mega with Loci612, with many Earthcaches, Virtuals, larges and LGA's with around 300 finds in total it was a massive trip. Thanks for the cache and being part of the journey.

Dayboro trip. Day 5. My time In Waughope and Port Macquarie had come to an end and today was a driving day to Casino via Grafton and Coffs Harbour. Mostly highway driving till the crossing of Coffs Harbour. The bypass cannot come soon enough. I managed to find caches in four of my last six non-Sydney Counties and even made it to Casino in time to log before dinner. The trip is in flux with Covid, but the days so far have been fun.

I took another detour off the highway, and managed three out of three caches along here.

Lake Somerset Trip - Day 1
Heading north with Tardis0061 and picking up some select targets on our way. Of course also a good opportunity to add some new LGA's to our list. This was our last find of the day under cover of darkness before finding lodgings for the night in Coffs. Well deserved after being on the road for 13+ hours.

Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, jesswrigley and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.

Today, jesswrigley and I travelled from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour. We spent the morning in Port Macquarie exploring the beaches and completing *Port Macquarie Coastal Walk* Adventure Lab. We then saw some of the historical town and completed the *Make Way For The Commandant* Adventure Lab. We then made our way north, stopping off in Kempsey for lunch and a LGA geocache find, and then visited Nambucca Heads in the afternoon. We had scenic views at a lookout stop, and then a nice walk at the headland and V-wall. Finally, we arrived in Coffs Harbour, and did the obligatory Big Banana stop, and then walked around the foreshore jetty and harbour area.

We made a quick stop here just off the highway to just register a geocache find in this LGA. Luckily, the cache was a quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Nudge74 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. I wouldn't mind doing these forgotten highways further one day.

Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to find the cache, well, not much help was needed, *Throsbynchurch* had things well under control. Log signed and replaced and the scene evacuated OCW *Throsbyonchurch* and *DustyJasperJet*. TFTC! Your efforts in placing and maintaining this cache is much appreciated.

Headed up to *Port* for a quick visit of my sister and *Coffs* to see my brother and his daughter. I have been keen to tackle this series as it looked like a great drive and I hoped it to be easy so I could keep time with my estimated arrival. Even if my arrival was not quite to time I figured I could grab the remainder on the way back through. This series didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the drive and finding the caches.
We signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.

On the way to Tweed Heads today stopped here for a short break and cache. Nice easy cache to find as well as a short walk across the road twice, forgot to get the pen out first time.

QUICK AND EASY TFTC

We'd just driven from start to end of Waterfall Way (plus some) to get to this cache... well, this cache and as many more as we can fit in to the day for the Mystery at the Museum game. A quick find and along the forgotten highway collecting clues we go. TFTC Nudge74.

Journeying from Brisbane to Wollongong for the OZGM mega, stopping every hour or so to stretch the legs and make a few finds along the way.

A weekend trip to Coffs to visit our granddaughter & to find a couple of caches.
Last stop before rejoining the motorway.
As we pulled up we recalled the times we had visited the Raleigh Winery & sampling their Baileys. Yum. I wonder if they still make it.

It was very quiet here this morning. The only company I had were mosquitoes and the sound of the motorway interspersed with an enthusiastic rooster.

the weather was too windy for kayaking today so i deemed it a perfect day for caching instead. this was the first one on the list, managed to get my pen and my hand covered in spiderwebs but did find the cache so is it a good omen or not...anyway tftc

All that Motorway stuff has been opened since me last visit !!
And now the olde highway is just as nice,
but much quieter

Travelled down the coast to venture out with friends to wander along the old highway and some byways. We completed it over two days with ozglory joining us for the first day out and only bobbiesgirl and I on the second. Great weather both days made for 2 great days of caching. Thanks so much to both COs for placing this series for us to enjoy and remember the not Forgotten Highway!

Having nibbled away at the southern end of this intriguing series it was time to make a full on assault to find the rest and have a trip down memory lane. With the completion of the dual carriageway between Port Macquarie and Coffs finally done and dusted, it makes you realize what an absolute goat track our major east coast highway really was. Found in the company of ozglory and joojoo57. The generic nature of my logs in no way detracts from my enjoyment and appreciation of the time and effort that goes into a geotrail such as this. Well done.
