Always figured this cache was another quick park'n'grab on the side of the road, which is probably why I never pulled over for it before. Well, how wrong could I have been? This is such a lovely area which - were it not for this cache - I never would have known about.
Life is full of little surprises. Thank you for hiding this cache, which is in very good shape.

We pass through this little hamlet sometimes on the hill road back from Port Chalmers and aside from the story about the crooked pump jockey, we don't stop. Parked at the community garden and walked the track down to the spot. Oops enjoyed the walk a bit too much crossing the wee bridge and had to backtrack to the GZ. Entered the hint place and found the dry cache. All noice'n'dry here. Returned cache and back up to the top. Had a look at the shade frame before driving away. Have the first Fav courtesy of my luvly sponsor for leading us here for the cache. *RTP 325pt.* TFTC
On a three week trip to the lower South Island with tmann421 hunting caches.

Nice easy find with 2 great caching buddies after a great afternoon on Quarantine Island. Would not know this existed if not for geocaching. TFTH
I needed 2 more Modern Wonders of the world and this path had the 2 I needed at each end. So I figured I would walk the path, grab the ones at each end and the get the middle one in the way back. A DNF for the first one (at the harbour end) made me scoot off to find a replacement find for that Wonder in Port Chalmers. Back to path from the this end now. Quickly found. Thanks!
Covid-19 pandemic Alert Level 4 so no one should go caching, stay home, stay in your bubble, save lives.
Hmmm .. the clue about the second to last tree makes no sense- but we found it!
I've looked in on this one twice before. Once was at dusk and it was a bit too dark. The second time I had to leave in response to a phone call just as I had arrived at GZ. I made the mistake in the past of not taking note of my garmin and just going for what looked like the obvious.
A fairly quick find, and although the hint was accurate, we found the cache before recognising the hint object. TFTC
111PAF's caches are normally quick finds so after hunting for 10mins I knew something wasn't right. Checking the hint, more hunting, more diving into the same line of trees. Am on the right side of the creek, the tree is easily searchable, what am I missing?? Will have to come back for this one.
Catching up on the family and also finding caches for the latest challenge
TFTC and bringing me to this spot - had no idea it was here

Spending the day in Sawyers Bay, Port Chalmers and Roseneath areas hunting down caches that we haven't found as yet.
A beautiful Winter's morning followed by a lunch at Carey's Bay Hotel and some more caching after lunch. 10/11 caches found for the day. Very happy. Thanks to the CO for easy finds and nice clear hints.

I was all prepared to get into the garden today but the day was so lovely so I decided to head down to Port Chalmers to grab a few I haven't got. Seeing the odd one being archived I didn't want to miss out any others so Natalie247 hopped into the cache car to grab the ones she didn't have also. A quick find and all nice and dry. TFTC 111PAF
After an event, Eve07 said to me how about a trip to port as it is a lovely day. So we decided to stop for a couple of caches one of us did not have. Trying to reach 100 finds of 111PAF for a challenge I signed in Wellington during the Mega - only 10 to go after this trip.
Another dunnas road trip caching up with kjr. Sunday mission on our way to port Chalmers.
Hopefully not long until I've done all my dot days. Just three to go now! Last one along this track. Thanks
Nice walk on a lovely winters day getting a few caches out this way with Kerynz, TFTC!
Great to find an hour or so on this stunning winter’s day to head out for a few finds with Frame Family. Tftc
First of a quartet of finds this afternoon, encompassing a short, pleasant flat walk.
That's a nice path, or would be when it was drier! I spotted the cache from a wee way away.. but how do I ..?? Managed to get to it. Felt kinda sorry for that tree!
Found on 11/07/2018.
Out and about on the Port Chalmers side of the Harbour, grabbing caches along the way.
Path was a bit wet today.

A nice wander around the track and a find once we were on the correct side.
Returned to the vehicle accompanied by bird song when Bitsprayer pointed out one of the creators of this serenade, sitting in the tree really close.
Thanks

Took a bit of debating and a confused bus driver for if we'd found the entrance or not but plunged in only to be on the wrong side of the creek on the way down, thankful for the boots today as nice and boggy underfoot. Alternate track on the way back which was the more obvious from that direction and then a straightforward find. TFTC #153
FTF. Gadget must have been having a lie in on Sunday morning. You don't have a FTF for months and then two in a week. We went down the wrong side of the creek at first. Had a look around for a few minutes then realised that just a few metres away on the other side of the creek was something that matched the hint item. Doh! Headed back out again and encountered a couple at the start of the track, vehicle parked adjacent, and I wondered whether they were cachers. Didn't recognise them so didn't say anything. As we headed off for the correct track they headed onto the wrong track. Oddly, as we went down the correct side I couldn't see them on the adjacent track and when we arrived at GZ we couldn't see them over the creek either. Having made the quick find we headed back out to find their vehicle was gone, so they had obviously come back out of the track as soon as we went down the correct track. All very odd. Perhaps they WERE cachers who got themselves confused about where they were? Anyway, I'm getting to explore a part of the city I have never really paid much attention to and thoroughly enjoying it. TFTC.
My first FTF, shared with Dad! Very exciting. I got pretty muddy knees here and Dad muttered something about Mum killing him. Now off up the hill to find an older cache called "Flash Harry" because my name is Harry and sometimes people call me Flash Harry! TFTC.
Saw a couple of people with cell phones in hand as I approached but they moved off as I got near. I wonder what they were doing? Another quick find. TFTC
Very easy find.....we were here earlier hoping for a quick FTF on our way to town to an appointment but when we arrived we saw someone else was already looking so since the FTF was not going to be ours we decided to head on our way and come back later. Found with Conbat. TFTC!
Head this way after the event in town and was quick find with KJR and headed off to grad so couple of other caches down this way including a Mystery that I had solved some time ago. So TFTC
Quick find with Gadget169 after todays event. Nice to see the sun come back out TFTC
Wrong side of the creek. A bit wet underfoot. Running shoes aren’t the best with the holes in the top and long wet grass. Damp socks now. Passed someone out walking her two dogs on my way back to the car.
