#6251Today's journey took us from Gunnedah to Armidale and finding some caches along the way. This was one of them. Thanks for the geo-fun. I enjoyed finding this one after enjoying dinner at the nearby club. A nice bit of construction here.
Neat camo' spotted by Mrs Sb, after a failed visit nearly 5 years ago, also because of ORIENTEERING nearby, this time it was the Australian Championships.
Amazing how many High Quality caches there are to be found in Armidale SL, Replaced as found,TFTC RYNO2412
Mr SKI had spent some time here yesterday and gave the area a good search, but left empty handed. We both went back today for a second look with Mr SKI making the assertion that Mrs SKI was on fire lately and would find it straight away. Mr SKI however spotted it straight away today.A day out in the suburbs and surrounds of Armidale as we searched for caches, and completed the two Ad Labs. Met a few lovely people on the way on a cool day but with only light winds. The caching was at times time consuming but we enjoyed the variety of walking we did in between sections in the car.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache ArmidaleSmurfs.**SKI Pair****
Traveling on an over 55 bus trip - Tamworth, Armidale, Dorrigo, Tenterfield, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbourand more. Hunting for caches on the way. Don't always have much time - but logging where I can. This is #5 for this trip. A great hide - a favourite point from me!Thanks for the cache
Found a park nearby and walked to GZ, found and signed log.Total Caches Found 15994TFTC ArmidaleSmurfs
Looked for about half hour to no luck, might come back later in week if its maintenanced.
I found what I think might be the holder to the container, but there was no bison tube. I'm logging a DNF just in case, although I'll leave it up to the CO to decide if I made a find.
I was with someone who has found it had a good look but.......it may be gone; taken with a recently removed fallen branch.
A quick find on a long trip home a welcome stop TFTCVery nice hidie placeLog is full photo is proof
Apologies for the late log here (13.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.A DNF here, and it annoyed me as I'd been prickled a bit along the way. Some you win...SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
Reading the hint carefully revealed more than some might understand. The cache fell out of its camo and at first I thought it was missing. I wedged it back in after signing log.

Found today! So happy after spending time searching for this a few weeks ago with no luck!
Visited the cache site and nothing caught my eye after quite a bit of searching. Decided to return a few days later and with fresh eyes found the cache immediately. How did I overlook this crafty little hide previously? Was it in a slightly different position? Who knows, but a creative little number nevertheless. Cheers.
Staying in the local districts for a couple of days and doing the tourist things as well as finding as many caches as we can before leaving for the coast.
Really enjoyed finding this hide definitely worthy of a favourite point from me.

Visiting Armidale with Geoson for a days on the road to Newcastle. Went for a wander in the late afternoon to find some caches. After a lot of searching, found this beautifully constructed cache some considerable distance away from plant species in hint. Signed log, and returned cache closer to hinted place. Tftc and challenge.
Staying in Armidale to cache for a few days.
Surprisingly had a fairly quick find here, probably helped by the fact we have a couple of these types ourselves
Thanks for the cache

Searched area with girlfriend and determined camo from clue and logs but couldn't find.
Girlfriend asked if we would call it and as we turned to walk away, she said "what's that?". Cache was then soon in hand. TFTC.

We arrived in town and after visiting the information centre we decided on a walk around town to look at some murals and buildings.
Saw this one was close by so headed over to search. Searched for a little while before we located.

Day 2 of 3 of our Caboolture South to Armidale trip.
Now that’s we’ve had some decent sleep from our long, exhausting drive we decided to stay local-ish and head down to Uralla first thing to grab some of those high favourite point caches then made our way back to Armidale and explored the town while grabbing a bunch of caches along the way.
I must say we absolutely love Armidale and it has everything one would need to live here. We may have joked around about moving here and ditching the kids, I guess we can all dream.
A big thanks to the CO’s for placing and maintaining their caches.
Thanks for bringing us here.

I was passing through town and had stopped off to visit the record store but the clerk was 'out to lunch' so i wandered off in search of a time filler. This cache was nearby so became my destination.
Upon arrival the search began and I was pleased to find the cache straight away. I was less pleased to find that my Biro was not releasing any ink. I attempted to leave my trailname as an impression on the scroll which was kind of visible. I took a photo as proof in case the CO requires verification when checking the log.
I was impressed with the construction of this one. My thanks and kudos to the cache owner for the cache. There's certainly some decent cache constructors in this area. Cheers!

Missed ya - Looked and looked but could not locate. Vintage car club turned up and had to move on
Thought we’d stop at this one today and we found it pretty quickly. Noticed something strange about the ‘container’ and checked it out. Very cool cache. I replaced the cache a little further off the path because I thought it could easily be picked up by a muggle, I hope this is ok. TFTC
Found today while out on a drive before Mum was going out shopping, I picked the cache up, checked it and put it down, then Dad picked it up and said "what about this one"...

Another wet day in New England.... after a morning in Uralla we returned to try and few particular caches with stats we wanted. The mercury barely touched 10 all day, and it felt like zero at the most when the wind picked up. Another 7 finds and a DNF this afternoon.
A nice DT combo here. Samuel picked up the cache, and threw it back. I picked it up and said 'but what about this?'.... all nice and dry too... TFTC!

TFTC. What an awesome container. This is a very clever cache. We enjoyed the fantastic park next door on our trip through Armidale. Very clever hide. Needed to use the hint as I was with family and sun was going down in winter.
Gotcha !!! Came down to Armidale from our daughters property near Glen Innes for a days caching. TFTC
Found this cache after playing in the playground on Easter Sunday. The playground is pretty popular apparently.
The cache has a pretty awesome container which took us a while to open before we tried the obvious solution which worked.
Thanks for the Cache!

We walked over after visiting the Information centre and Mrs Shifter picked up the container and rejected it, looking for one made slightly differently and then on the second time round it was checked again and revealed the cache.
Thanks for the sneaky hide ArmidaleSmurfs.

Instead of heading mega north to Townsville for Easter, Seffnjarah and I planned a long weekend road trip south to Armidale and surrounds doing some bushwalks whilst targeting puzzles, EC's, unloved caches, high favourite points and some higher elevation caches.
After a full day caching in the region, we returned to Armidale late afternoon, with the plan to clean up some local caches in town, grab a snitty at the RSL, perhaps a few more late night caches and then hit the swag.
The park was quite busy with families playing in a the very last of the daylight. Above in the tree, some white cockatoo's were brawling with cranky minor birds, who obviously did not want them to settle here for the night. What a racket!
Cache found after a short hunt.
Many thanks RYNO2412

Crookedpete and I were given leave passes from our respective families for the Easter long weekend for a geocaching road trip. I suspect that this was our families' Easter present to themselves to have a weekend alone without our company .
As members of The Bromance geocaching collective, we are a rather contrarian bunch, so while the main geocaching action was apparently up north over Easter we decided to instead head south from Brisbane. Our main focus was on caches with lots of favourites, good DT combinations, high elevation or sitting sad and neglected with no visitors for an extended period.
After heading out to Invergowrie and looping west down to Bendemeer and then up to Uralla this morning, we headed back into Armidale late this afternoon to work on our to-do list in town.
I managed to make hard work of this one until Crookedpete joined the search and pointed me in the right direction. Cache soon found and logbook signed. TFTC

#7032 Day 4 of our "Dayboro Plan B" trip. mtrax & myself, having decided to ditch the mega came up with a last minute re-route using some of the accommodation we'd already booked and find some interesting caches. To this end we were very selective and only chose caches with sufficient FPs along the route. Today was just around Armidale, but we took a side trip back to Hillgrove after having to skip it due to time yesterday. Glad we did as it was a great place to geocache and we also grabbed a short trail on the way. Weather was more favorable today with some wind but not cold.
A tricky one to locate. Log was missing so added a new one.
Thanks ArmidaleSmurfs
