A beautiful day out with friends enjoying being driven from cache to cache! Quick find in another interesting place. TFTC halcyon123!
A fun day of caching with the crew in the Southern Highlands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in good condition despite the ants. Thanks!
Thanks for the cache! Was a quick find despite the good camouflage. The cache is still full of ants , no clue how they get inside as the container is in good condition. Found with TC216
Out with BlacknWhite to chase down a few caches in the southern highlands on this fine Kings birthday Monday. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. There it was just lying there in full camo.Opened and it was full of ants.Cleaned it up signed and on to the next.TFTCIronbark.
OCW with Ironbark this morning. Nice camo but how did the ants get in here???Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache halcyon123
Left Goulburn this morning & were now camped at Daley's Camp in Belangalo State forest. After setting up camp we drove towards Moss Vale completing the Rememberance caches & the WIGO crop Circle. We finished the day driving to Bundanoon to do a couple of ALs.Such a big variety of caches found todayA nice way to visit the town & area is by following the geocaching trailThanks halcyon123 for hiding this cache.
A lovely container, well camouflaged greeted us at GZ.We were able to park not too far away. With no rain, but everything still damp underfoot the area looked very green and lush at the moment. We have enjoyed our Manda and wrist stop in Bundanoon today. Thanks halcyon123Domsky
11th find while taking a slow drive from Sydney to Canberra stopping for some caches on the way. I had stopped for a nearby but due to muggle-itis I didn't get a chance to look for that one, so moved on. I parked and headed to GZ and soon had CIH. However on opening it I discovered a whole lot of ants had made it their home. I got the log out and was able to sign it and before replacing things I gave the container a bit of a shake to try to remove the ants. All replaced and I headed into town. TFTC.
Pulled over near GZ and headed towards the location with my son. He explored one area and I another. I was the lucky finder on this one. I picked up the cache and started to open it... all of a sudden about 1000 tiny little black ants emerged from the container and were running everywhere. I may have semi-thrown the container into the air, contents flying everywhere. My son thought this was hilarious. He retrieved the log from the ground and I signed it while he gathered all the items and returned them to the container. TFTC and the adventure.
Third of four traditional finds with Aussiewolves before returning to Sydney. Quick find after a short search. TFTC

Found after a bit of searching. That's a good quality container, keeping the log nice and dry.
Found with 3Mutineers - I am a smiley face. This find made me feel accomplished

Nice find! Everything is dry. I forgot my pen so I couldn't sign the log. Thanks for the cache
Bonnie Nova sounds like such fun! What a shame for thoughtless vandalism! Thanks for sharing the story! Tnsl Tftc h123
Today is the 15th August 2020, Loci612 and I headed out to the Southern Highlands to clean up the caches in the area. We spent a total of almost 11 hours caching and I was dog tied at the end of it all. There were some highlights for the day included 2 earth caches, 3 multi caches, a letterbox, 2 Tb Hotels, a Mystery and loads of Trads. Not sure exactly how far we drove but it was many hundreds of kilometers. I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile. Thanks to the Bushies for the Paddy's River -"Twin Gums cache.
Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with more than 40 caches today alone it gets hard to write a different one for each cache.
Most caches were found in good order but it is clear that some CO’s need to do a maintainer run on their caches and check them all out as some had very wet logbooks.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges Geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of today my average was less than 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200 word target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 200 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7500 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

**This Cache:**
Probably the best coordinates of your caches we found today, which was needed for this one too as it was hidden in quite an unexpected spot and fashion! Boy that blends in well, the wonders some camo can do! [:o] Located it eventually however after trusting some logs
Thanks

**Today:**
Myself and DSD had the day off work so we decided to head up to the Southern Highlands for some numbers. Caching has been pretty focused recently so it was time to just clear out some of the hundreds of park & grabs in this area after driving past them on many occasions in the past! There was a few other quick and interesting types thrown in the mix too, but no strenuous terrain today for once! It was a cruisy day, visited some locations I hadn't been too in the past, and also had to change a few plans due to flooded crossings! Extremely wet and damp everywhere we went after the past week of rain!
Thanks to all the CO's for creating an adventure for us!

#6194 4th for today
I was heading to Bundanoon for lunch with my former boss at his new property, so I planned to arrive about 2 hours early and make the most of the free geo-time. I considered checking out the Erith Coal-mine earth cache, but there was insufficient time. Most of the caches were simple park and grabs. Missed a couple though.
Blundered about for a while before spotting this one.
Thanks halcyon123

Ok, this had us searching all over. Coords tried to tell me but I wasn’t listening...initially. Ah, clever.

Another day in the Highlands caching and after last nights wild thunderstorm it was pleasing to see the area looking so fresh and dams overflowing. Targeted a few areas today in attempt to clear out pockets of high numbers.
I think for most of the day I found micros in beautiful rural settings. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches I found today.

Found with sjg66 on our highlands weekend away. Lots of great and interesting caches, thanks to all the CO's for the hides and maintaining them.
Found 31/08/19. I thought i could see the hidey hole on approach, but as it was getting dark after adding my name to a previously found cache now that the rain has stopped, i checked the last log, bent to see something odd and had the cache in hand. Great camo and hiding place btw.
Cleaning up some caches in Bundy this afternoon after dropping BTM off to work.
Miss seeing Bonnie swinging in the breeze - shame so few have to spoil things for so many
Anyways, this cache took me way longer than needed to find. Initially followed the phones navigation which had me heading towards the nearby paddock and after glancing around, I thought my phone was playing silly buggers again!
So I searched in more appropriate areas and came up with nothing so after reading a few logs, I picked up a few pointers and resumed searching again only to come up with the goods not too far from where the phone had me initially! Blends in very well this one!!! TFTC

I joined Tankengine and Aquillus1 on a day of running around the countryside tyring to find clues and gems for the latest Mystery at the Museum subgame. I was lucky to have already completed this challenge and so I was just able to collect more smilies with great company.
Tankengine came early with Aquilus1 to pick me up and off we went. We had a smooth drive up and around all over the place with only the freezing cold wind to annoy us. But I was lucky being able to ride shotgun with the warm heated leather seat of Tankengine's loan car. Thanks for driving us around Tankengine it was very much appreciated.
I wasn't sure what to expect here, but the cache was shortly spotted and I rather liked the camo as it sit well with the hide. Tftc halcyon123!!!

A day trip away to collect a few caches, I was picked up this morning by Tankengine and then off to collect dty73. With the new challenge we needed to find some caches and as Tankengine had all but cleaned out Canberra and the near by regions it was off else where to find them! Dty73 had completely the challenge but came along to keep us company and enjoy some caching too. Up towards Mittagong was the plan with a few along the way, TE had a PQ of caches we all had yet to find, with a few bonus ones that looked interesting as we passed or needed along the way.
Some lovely areas and off course a lot of fun along the way but the arctic wind that blew painfully through was enough to make me moan and winge at times! If beanies are a fashion statement anywhere I was rocking it well today! The gloves I needed but they made rolling the little bison logs almost impossible so off they came and the mild frostbite will recover! (winge, moan etc etc!)
Luckily though most caches were close to the car or didn't take so long to find, a few DNF's but only a couple and the car was SOOO warm and cosy! We stopped and had a welcomed warm lunch, found all the caches we needed for the challenge and of course had a great day too! Many thanks for your cache that helped with our days caching and thanks to dty73 and Tankengine for the good company and enjoyable day!

So – new souvenirs are available to be found! But they require me to find specific caches! I had found all the clues required, so I was after the gemstones! But, due to lack of caches in the ACT, a plan was hatched. Dty73, Aquilus1 and I decided on a roadtrip to the Mittagong area! After an early (well, not too early) start, we were on the road, and targeted caches were slowly knocked off!
The weather was ICY COLD, and the wind awful! But the caching and the company was fun! The drive home in the dark and rain was also not so nice (I thought it was about to snow), but at least we were nice and warm in the car!
Thanks for the cache halcyon123 and thanks for the company dty73 and aquilus1! We had a great day out!

A long overdue geomission plan was hatched with AngelG27 to hit the Southern Highlands trails, as well as a few randoms here and there, and get some numbers up!
Most were easy finds but a few had us searching for a few moments! All up a fantastic day with a total of 100 finds and 4 DNFs. Apologies for the generic logs!
Thanks to all of the CO's for the caches - we had fun!

Another early start to the day grab some caches with Specimen X - finally! It took ages to find the right day for our calendars to coincide, but today is the day! Since we both need some numbers, we have decided to head to Moss Vale to grab a few of the trails there. It promises to be a fun day - a day caching is always a fun day! Mostly trads are on the radar for today, but you never know...
All caches found in accordance with the hint and in good order unless otherwise stated.

After a busy December / January, we decided a trip to the highlands was in order. So after an early start, with Rapidlywild doing the driving honours we headed up the highway. A bit of rain made it quite pleasant, and the sun brought a bit of humidity, but it was a great day. We grabbed a couple of the trails, and was surprised on containers, some took a bit longer to locate than others. Thanks RW for a great day, and thanks to all the CO for the placements, we enjoyed collecting them.
Thanks halcyon123

First big caching trip out with both the FFLL ladies for 2019 and it was an awesome day we made plans to head up into the Southern Highlands to attack some caches up there. Some I had already been too, others were new. All up a 15 odd hour day with the ladies, and a fun filled tiki tour.
Thanks for the cache hide halcyon123 and thanks FFLL ladies for another fun filled adventure.

This weekend is the annual camping trip to Wingello State Forest 'Lets Wing it at Wingello' and is thew first time I have been free to go. It was a fun break and a nice cool damp evening to break up the unrelenting VERY HOT weather we have in Canberra all week. On the way home I went a bit further out for two more caches.
Thanks.

On my way to Wingello to pick up a bunch of Geocaching Australia moveable caches so turned into the laneway then wandered under the trees. Found the well camouflaged container in an unusual location. Certainly blended in well & I had to look twice to convince myself. Thanks.
