Had a good poke around for ages, unfortunately not there for us today. Thanks anyway, hopefully will be back at some other time. Second time here. Maybe I need A 6 yr old!!
An initial challenge but I took heart that if the six year old yesterday could manage it, then surely I could also find it? Pen gave up ghost, it will have to be discarded. Collateral damage or the just end of faithful service, you decide. TFTC
The whole team was out and about today. Was hoping to knock off all of Te Puke area, but we had a couple of DNFs and weren't feeling up to any puzzles or multis. Then out to Kaituna to try for a couple more.No luck for us here today. Looked and looked. Saw some potential locations, but no joy. Hope it hasn't gone missing.
Yus we spotted a birthday party so we knew were in the right place woop woop we did it again
Found it, I think it had fallen from spot as it was just lying on ground. Have put where hopefully it won’t fall
First complete day off work this week so over to The Mount for some caching and enjoyed a sunny winters day. Noticed this had been replaced. Have been here a couple of times before and failed however today I just sat and let my eyes do the work. Bingo, how had I missed that last time! Happy to finally change this sad face into a smiley. Thanks
Fun find with my friend we had to get one of our lollies and burn it in the grill to get it sticky and put it on a stick to get the cache out because of how far it was in
Such a beautiful spot. We had no idea it even existed until today!
We spent a couple of hours looking but sadly we had no luck.
Just a note for those with young kids: there's rubbish, alcohol bottles and broken glass scattered around the park so it pays to keep an eye on your little ones as they search. My 8 year old picked up a broken beer bottle while he was searching.
Hopefully we can come back and have another look soon

Visited this afternoon and searched for a while - until we were interrupted by 2 separate car loads of muggles arriving, plus a dog walker. A tricky area to search; luck wasn't with us today.
Found. Me and my 5 year old were in the area and decided to go for an adventure. He wrote the log so sorry about the messy writing.
This is such a great spot! We never would have known such a nice park was hidden in the middle of Te Puke! We had to navigate our way around a few playground muggles, and then we had the cache in hand. TFTC
Container must have rolled away. Have replaced with a new small cache hidden in the same spot on the right hand side. Happy hunting
Well found a track, a stonewall and lots of rocks but no cache. Too clever for me today. Will watch.
Took a former muggle out for her first caches today. This one stumped us for a bit. As mentioned by another, we were looking to hard. Clever spot for a hide! TFTC
Well the GPS kept dancing around but Tui was approaching with just the right line of sight to spot the container in full view as the “door” had fallen away from the hide. Tucked back in securely and we enjoyed the sunshine in the park before heading off for the next one.
Pleased to finally find this after about 4 visits in last 2/3 years...!
On holiday at Papamoa.
Luckily no one at playground on a week day.

Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching. Cache out on the grass. Replaced on a hole and covered with a rock.
Found tonight on the ground at the base of the wall, seems like it had fallen from its spot. Re-hid close to original spot, in a more protected spot
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Back in The Puke for a family get-together. Nice to see some new caches in the area. Didn't take long to find as it was in the open. Covered it up as good as I could. Cheers
Found it. Came down with jaycaz01 nice easy find. Jaycaz has been inactive for a while and started telling me I was way off due to him previously finding the one under the chair further down but it seems that one has been archived. Anyways. First to sign new book. TFTC
I initially avoided the area of the hide, partly because my GPS was pointing elsewhere but also because I'm not keen on this type of hide due to the possibility of damage. However, after a quick survey elsewhere, I was compelled by the title and quickly found the cache, which was quite exposed. Signed and returned with a little more cover. TFTC.
11.15am - Along with my 7yr old granddaughter and a couple of caches needed for today we headed to Tepuke.
This one took a little longer to find but once phone settled soon had in hand. Indie was more interested playing on the playground than helping me find this one. SLTFTC

Chasing Mythical Creatures points this afternoon. I need some quick finds, as time and weather are not on side...
I was hoping to rack up most of my required points with this new series of caches in Te Puke... This one took slightly longer than it should have, partly because of the many possibilities. I stood back for a moment to observe and spotted the hide... TFTC.

Tonight was only planned earlier in the week when the weather looked to be fantastic for a little detour to the BOP.
So in the company of kiwis69, HKCB & 11HPG11 we set off from home at approx 6pm and made it back home at 4am with only rain for about the first hours of the nights adventure.
There were quite a number of different caches collected in the progression acrodd the countryside as we were all working to collect some more caches all of course for the "Hidden creatures" challenge for the month.
Some of us had made great inroads to this and with only a few days to go I need all that I can as always a late starter.
Thanks to all the CO's for their caches and maintaining their caches

A few of us managed to get a leave pass for tonight, as the numbers for the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. So after a quick call around Kiwis69, 11HPG11, Cats&Dragons and myself decided another night assault in and around Tauranga was a good idea. The general plan was to start at the Southern end and work our way North, and hopefully be home in time to get at least a few hours sleep.
With the rain easing a few hours into the trip the night turned out to be rather successful with all caches attempted being found, for a grand total of 22 to add to the creatures tally. A big thanks to the CO for the hides.
First on the cards was to locate the new caches around Te Puke. Most were fairly quickly finds with the odd one or two that took a bit longer to find.

Out and about on a Friday night mission to collect some more caches and work our way closer to some more hidden creatures. Tonight our group consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB and kiwis69. Signed logs as HOAC or with our names where space permitted.
I was still pondering over the hint when I heard the cries of sucsess. Lots of painted rocks here!

Out on a nocturnal mission with 11hpg11, cats&dragons & HKCB to grab some caches towards the “hidden creatures’ challenge ... unlike our northern hemisphere counterparts, we’re contending with winter and long dark nights but, heh, that just adds to the challenge! We started early evening in fairly heavy rain, wondering about our sanity, but thankfully the weather improved and we had a lot of fun dashing about the BOP on a star-light night. A few logs were signed with the team name ‘HOAC’ to save space.
Muggle-free at night made for an easy search, which was just as well, given so many rocky hiding spots here. Thankfully HKCB was quickly onto it, log signed & replaced, TFTC

Aha, we have been here before as well. There were lots of mini muggles in the playground and because Mr S has a bit of back problem it was Mrs S who had to make the find. She could see it but we were being watched by a little person in pink. So Mr S strolled over the inspect the barbecue and little miss raced off to Mummy, just in case the big bad man was coming after her. Gee, didn't think he was THAT scary. It gave Mrs S free rein to find, sign and replace the cache.
Thanks Lagerwaards.
Thanks Lagerwaards.
Out on a trip to Te Puke to pick up this new series . Been to this park several times for caches but not where I found this one. Thanks for putting the series out. TFTC
Nice hide but the container is too small for all the contents. Gorgeous park and it was nice to see families out playing in it when I arrived.

We remembered this area from a previous cache also. We were fortunately able to retrieve the nicely concealed cache in between passing sporty muggles. TFTC

Arrived at gz as a vehicle was leaving- the occupants had grins on their faces!! Aha more geocachers. This one took a bit to find as I completely misinterpreted the hint. Once I became more level headed the cache was found, nicely tucked in. Thanks for the cache Lagerwaards.
Called in on this one on the way up Boucher only to find several families playing so decided to go up no 2 road & recheck on the way back.Voila, nobody around so after a few minutes of checking orange I spotted something that was a little diferent & soon had the cache in hand. Was excellent timing as I returned to the car another family plus three dog walkers with there friends in tow arrived to do there thing. Thanks Lagerwaards,i'm going home happy,5 out of 5.Cheers.
#704 - Came for a trip to Te Puke to pick up all the caches. Another good hide buddy
My wife had sent me up the road to grab dinner when these alerts came through but the [FTF] race always comes first! I made my first stop figuring if I got it I'd keep going and I was welcomed with a blank log. Then I quickly had to call my wife... "Dinner will be about an hour late"... - she was understanding but not impressed
My fourth stop tonight and this cache gave me the most trouble. It seems I didn't read the title very well and completely over thought the hide. It must have been my third sweep of the area when I spotted it there in it's little hidey hole. Again I'm not sure how long this cache will survive because it's a pretty easy spot for curious little fingers. Cheers Lagerwaards, TFTC.
