I found the right tree for the cache, but The Driver didnt agree as he wanted more shade for the car! not for it was a few trees further on in deeper shade where he thought it better to park ! It was a quick find anyway.

Well my trip up to QOGM started a couple of weeks ago and after taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford and Ilfracombe, The Tritonz and Roaming Howie finally joined me and we did the puzzle trail. Then a fun first muster day to Muttaburra and back then a great tea event and a few more caches.A trip to Stonehenge and back again for so now a new day.The second muster day and boy what a busy day as there was a lot going on in the car with everything we had to do.Collect trads, look at photos, find some forks and then some property numbers as well. The Mexicans as we were called teamed up with a couple of other cars The Morris and Pool Pool to have a lot of fun over the radio.Well all the caches have been found and after another great dinner event QOGM has officially finished. This was my first one and I had a great time, but all good things must come to end and today I had a big drive ahead of me to my next accomodation which was Ilfracombe as Im staying at the pub just to tidy a few things up.Roaming Howie and I headed to Barcie for the day just to pick up a few random caches. We did this one so it would help us with another cache so now off to find that one. Thanks artsesiancacher TFTC.
Avenged a dnf here from a previous visit, finally! We came for QOGM 23, and sadly the show is over. Now we're making our way south and grabbing some more old QOGM caches as we go.

Today we continued our clean out of the Barcaldine region. While I had heaps of caches to find, albida had quite a few as well so it was a productive day for both of us. We keep bumping into fellow Cachers which has been a lot of fun and will keep getting better and better at QOGM itself. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs for putting out these caches !!
We are nearly at Longreach for the QOGM 2023. Staying in Barcaldine for 2 nights, slight change in plans so we can go to the luncheon event on Sunday.
We solved some of the puzzles before coming, so we’ll do those first! And now for some non puzzles!

Outnabout for some solo caching while camping in town overnight. We’re taking the roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. It’s always a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Today's leg of out trip Longreach to Blackall. Arrived at the caravan park in Blackall to find that the free wifi is only for Telstra customers... so we are now catching up on around 60 logs!
Had a great time caching in Longreach. Boot went to the QANTAS museum, Bee completed more puzzles!
Found as part of our 'north for warmer weather' trip from North East Victoria to Central Queensland, via Curtis Island! We have enjoyed the great variety of caches along the way. Thank you to all the COs who maintain the caches along the way.

After a night of continual rain, it is great that it has now stopped. After a slow morning, under the canvas given it was so wet outside, it was good to be able to get out and start exploring Barcaldine.
After making our way around the nearby cemetery for a multi, we crossed the road and found this one. All good here.
Thanks artesiancacher

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 8 Todays journey took us from Barcaldine to Emerald collecting caches along the way.
Weather today was nice with not a cloud in the sky so no fear of anymore road issues.
All caches were found along our journey that we attempted unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all cache hiders for keeping this hobby alive and breaking up a long drive.

We are staying at Lloyd Jones Weir for a couple of days. Decided to look for caches here in town, Barcaldine. Wow so many caches here to find.Tftc
Found it with pippahiccup on a western run up to Mt Garnett. But rain and road closures hampering us. Can only get cashes that we aren't in a foot of water. But getting to explore at least. What an interesting town.
On our way north for a family event in Mt Garnet. However, Barcaldine had 6 inches of rain in 24 hours and we are spending today filling in time trying to decide whether to backtrack or wait for the roads to reopen to move onwards.
The log was soggy, but we signed a little slip of paper a previous geocacher had left in there. TFTC!

Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
We were unable to read the clue in this one also.
Thanks for placing the cache artesiancacher, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

We cached our way into town this morning and then began to work some of the trails that had not been here when we were last in town. A good variety of caches and a beautiful day to boot.

Day nine of my outback Queensland trip and I am back in Barcaldine for the next 2 days. Having completed a few already due to the rains it will be fun to continue on around the town, maybe even get some knowledge while I’m here. Wow there is so much to do in and around this town and some really fun caches. Again I will have no problems in continuing my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day.
Caching on my own again and am enjoying the freedom of where to go and when. This was a great little series. I drove up to one and worked my way back into town, all caches were easy finds and in good condition.
With the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

Twelve days into my travels today from Adelaide. I made my way up the Strzelecki Track then wove my way around central and western Queensland enjoying the warmer weather, checking out the sights and finding a few targeted caches along the way. I am hoping to get as far north as I can before it gets too warm for me and then crossing into the Northern Territory and then south again towards home.
Today I cached around Barcaldine before heading down to the letterbox series on the Narbethong Road and then up to Jericho to camp for the evening.
It was quite a big day, with 17 Mystery cache finds, 7 Letterboxes, 2 Multis and 53 Traditional caches.
A quick find. Logbook is wet and mouldy.

Down from Townsville with Karicka to boost my numbers and explore outback QLD during the school holidays.
After 2 busy days on the PT, and collecting the other types around Blackall we headed north to pick up a few before heading home. Karicka was an excellent guide as he’d previously found the lot.

Went out this morning for the usual half day of caching with ilook4geo. It is just too hot in the afternoon at this time of the year to be out in the sun. We found a good variety of caches including traditionals, letter box, puzzles, challenges and a multi. It was a good total for the day. Thanks go to artesiancacher for placing this cache, which was easy enough to find.
