Stage 2 of our trip was a few days in Tasmania. We headed over to Bruny Island to stay at a friends cabin before spending a day in Hobart. I dont think I have eaten as many delicious oysters in my life as I have over the last few days! Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining caches for us to find.
Nyssaflutterby and I were on holiday in Tasmania for Earth cache weekend. I'd never been before so we visited a few places Nyssa had been before but also found some new places to visit. I love light houses so I was pleased to visit this one. We even went on the tour to the top. TFTC Membsec.
Find# 12204We battled the icy rain and very strong wind.Despite the challenge, our love of lighthouses gave this cache a favourite point. We are on a two-week driving tour of Tassie. We're based in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney NSW.TFTC membsec
Thanks membsec for hiding this cache. Now that my calendar and streak are completed, I can just cache for the fun of it. Your Traditional cache, Cape Bruny Lighthouse, was just what I needed to get me out of the house and exercising. This is my find #1987 at 14:31 on 14/9/2024. FTF: Found with: selfWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
While in Tassie for a week of wine, whiskey and wandering with some muggle friends, I'm taking the opportunity to look for a few caches that are along our itinerary, while they are enjoying the scenery. This cache was located quickly, but with all the recent rain was a little soggy making it challenging to add my name as the pen would not write. We were fortunate to have lovely weather and took our time enjoying the 365 degree views. Thanks membsec for a wonderful cache.
Wow, this place is incredible. Amazing views, and the weather was great today as well; sunny and no wind (we were told its usually very windy). The cache took a little while to find, mainly because of all the muggles around, but the view was a good distraction. Favourite point for the incredible location. Thanks for the cache membsec!
I enjoyed the walk up to the lighthouse. The views are incredible. I had to wait first for the couple standing at gz taking a selfie to move along, then I had to wait for the group to complete the lighthouse tour who were looking down to gz. Finally, the coast was clear, and the cache was found, logged, and returned as found.
We headed down to South Bruny today to do the Peninsula walk no30 in our quest to complete as many of the 60 short walks of Tasmania. It was a lovely day and walk . After the walk we went to see the lighthouse, interesting history here. Quick find of the cache had to wait for the lighthouse lady to take in their starlink before replacing. TFTC
It certainly was a cool day to be out caching and as well it was windy but we did find. Thanks for placing.
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.Today was a busy day tour of Bruny Island with friends. I was delighted to discover that HMAV Bounty had anchored in Adventure Bay and my ancestor, Fletcher Christian, had walked along that beach while getting fresh water for the ship. Visiting Bruny Island today and the lighthouse. Weather is cloudy and windy Cold as. Was a fairly quick find. TFTC
Visited the light house todayNice weather this morning Walked the hill for a look and grabbed the cache tooGrace got enthusiastic and dived in to grab itAnd got scratched up for her trouble. All good hereSigned and replaced Thanks for the cache
Stealth needed for this one, high amount of muggle activity! Thanks for the cache (and the hint haha)
Tftc. Great spot. Got here early but still a lot of muggles. Managed to be sneaky enough not to be noticed. They are too busy taking in the amazing views.
I've always liked lighthouses. So, although a long drive for the limited time we had, pleased we did. It's a nice drive but the lighthouse on this lovely day looked great! Plus, the cliffs, the rock formations, the stunning water colours, definitely worth the drive. The cache took a little looking, the hint is good and its what I had expected. It was just tucked away and needed a good look. Something my rapidly failing eyesight took a while to see! Thanks for the cache!
Beautiful spot.Tough walk up the incline. HahahaEdit: I just realised that I signed the log as 2023 instead of 2024. oopsI blame the holidays! Thanks from NSWDTM
Visited the Bruny Island Lighthouse today and went for a tour to the top of it. Beautiful views. Lots of muggles about. The road and parking area has improved somewhat since our last visit in the early 1990s. Unfortunately our trip resulted in a smashed windscreen from a stray rock from a passing vehicle. At GZ a quick find was made. SL. TFTC membsec
Great spot. Took us a while to locate the cache, was a bit further than was easy to get to but enjoyed the area while here.
Sphinx71 an me visited Bruny Island today as a highlight during our trip to Tasmania. It was very busy today, but together with another group of Australian and German new-geocachers we could found the containerThanks for hiding.
Die kleine Familie and me visited Bruny Island today as a highlight during our trip to Tasmania from Melbourne. The lighthouse geocache is now our southernmost geocache! Thank you for placing it. Merry xmas!
Amazing views and emerald green seas! Searching in wrong spot initially but found quickly once I had the right corner. TFTC
Mr Shadow has a nose for these even at high altitude. Lot of muggles around so we had to make sure we didnt stand out. Cache found and signed. Thanks for a great location and amazing views.
Found on our Trip to Tasmania. What a beautiful spot here.So windy and wet but we loved the views here.Fav for the location! Thanks for placing the cache for us to find today.
Found with McAdies and Jelly_Bean14.We are on holidays in Tasmania. What a great spot and thanks for placing a cache here for us to find.
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.I am having a great time visiting Tasmania.Thank you for placing this geocache for us to find today!
Auf unserer Reise durch Tasmania hier fndig geworden. Tftc and greetings from Germany
Lots of muggles, grabbed with sheath, returned with stealth. As we started the climb Mr Unssy said he left the tool kit in the car. We did not have our stamp. Luckily Mrs Unssy is always prepared and we had a pen on us. Thanks for bringing us FP
Beautiful area! Amazing views from up at the lighthouse. Despite many tourists no one really seems to notice what we were doing here finding this cache easy enough to locate with the hint TFTC
We got to the lighthouse and nearly got blown back to Hobart!!
I’d hate to see the ocean when a real storm came through here .
Found the cache reasonably easily and then took the tour through the lighthouse. Karen was a wonderful guide sharing some interesting information. It’s great to see our history being preserved.

I went for a ride today to Bruny Island with a friend and a friend of a friend.
We had only three objectives - 1/ to go to the Cape Bruny Lighthouse, 2/ to get something for lunch, 3/ to get back home before dark.
The car park was chockers and there were about 20 BMW riders parked on the grass. They left about the time I found this cache.
I added an objective to find a handful of caches on Bruny Island that would progress completing my "hidden date" calendar.
The cache was found direclty below where one of my travelling companions was already standing.
Glorious day to get fantasitc views from here, and it would be maybe 25 years since I was last here.

Was pretty obvious searching for this. Educated some newbies about geocaching. Signed the log and managed to shoehorn a TB in as well. Great location. Thanks
Found on 4/4/2023; find number 1627.
Out adventuring today from our house sit on North Bruny. Today we headed south and worked our way back up.
Luckily I timed this one between waves of tourists. A quick find in a logical place.
The log is getting full, but I managed to find room.
A spectacular site. Must have been a tough life down here back when the lighthouse was first built.
A fav for the location.
Thanks for the hunt and the cache membsec.

My gosh, after having done a couple of hours circuit somewhere my husband booked himself for a tour of the lighthouse. He went off first and I followed shortly, taking my time after having done that long walk. When I arrived he said: did you bring a pen? I said no why??? There is a geocache up here that I wasn’t aware of!!!!
So I had to go back down the car, get a pen to sign the log, I am done! Cheese and wine that’s what I need now! TFTC excellent place, it was a must really

Went up to do the Lighthouse tour (definitely worth doing, History with Amazing views). Didn't realise there was a cache here! Texted the wife to bring up a pen, She arrived no reception, hence no pen!
Selflessly while I did the tour, she went back down the hill to get one (having failed to find a muggle with a spare pen!!!? Why did a French lady need a pen at the edge of the Australian continent??)
Thanks for maintaining the cache

I love lighthouses and it was fabulous to be able to visit this one while touring Bruny Island. A quick find with a good hint. Definitely a Fave Point for the location. Thanks for the geo-fun.

We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to membsec for the generation of this nice cache Cape Bruny Lighthouse (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

Spending a couple of days on Bruny Island during our 3 week journey around Tassie.
View here was magnificent on a fine but windy day
Despite there being plenty of muggles about, cache was found discreetly
Log signed then off to see some more great places

Find 8 of 15 during a day spent on Bruny Island, then on top of Kunanyi.
All good here. Excellent views today, plus an echidna on the open ground just chilling and ignoring all the tourists with cameras, us sandgropers included.

With the boat festival over, we did some touristing and this was our first day trip with our friends who have moved down here now from Qld. Over to Bruny Island on the ferry, morning tea cheese and bread and the cheese factory, then all the way down to the southern end intending to meander our way back up during the day. Well, that plan did not miss the crowds after all, as the lighthouse carpark was full and there was a gridlock of cars trying to get in and out. J & I jumped out to walk up to the lighthouse while K & R tried to park. Nice walk through the banksia low scrub with lots of flowers. Quite an impressive lighthouse and spectacular views all around. The tours were all full so we just admired the view from ground level. It took a bit of scouring the area around gz to location the cache as there are numerous bushes to hide under in the area. Luckily everyone else was too busy admiring the view to notice me.
Quite a rugged coastline and very windy. When we return another time, we hope to have more time to explore the island and do a boat tour as well.

TFTC membsec ️ ️ ️Definitely deserving of a favourite point for the location.

While on a family holiday in Tasmania with TT016, PrincessAria1 & LittleG00sE, we visited Bruny Island. We visited North Bruny Island before heading South. We stopped at & tasted produce at the cheese company, honey farm and chocolate factory. We stopped here so I could rectify a previous DNF on this cache.
Once again we searched and searched for this cache and was about to give up when Mr TT016 put his hand on the well hidden cache.
Glad I now have a smile where there was a sad face.

Found after a short hunt around on our trip around Bruny Island on our Tasmanian holiday with hevwalker little goose and princess Aria
We had a brief look before a hoard of tourists arrived. We tried to make distractions by taking photos but I think that encouraged more happy snappers to our location. For the sake of the cache we abandoned our hunt, but we loved our trip to the Lighthouse. Thanks for the challenge.

Quick find once I figured out which way was north. Thank you for the hide! Forgot pen, took photo.
Found together with Emandel. We forget the pen in the car and with the rain starting yet again didn't feel like coming back up here. He provided the photo log as requested. TFTC!
Tftc. Great location, great camouflage and with my 300th find how could we not give it a favourite point. Dreadful wet day but this cache brought a little sunshine to the day
Found it..great little spot. Unfortunately I didn’t have a pen or pencil to write on log. Tried to write with a rock, but to no avail. TFTC
TFTC, the coordinates a little bit out and found also by a fellow cacher. Photo of the cache as we didn’t have the one on us.
Thanks for taking me here! I can’t believe that in all these years of visiting Bruny I never made it to the light house! But what a stunning place!!! Sensational views.
The cache had me looking in the wrong corner, although I thought I knew what I was looking for.. S_38 found it in the opposite corner . Thanks !!

Took a second to work out which corner was which but a quick find once in the right spot. 4th time to Bruny Island. First time to the lighthouse. Thanks for putting a cache here membsec.
Our kids are finally old enough to look after themselves for a few days. So, with my wife having some holidays coinciding with their school holidays, she and I took the opportunity for a quick 6 day tour - with no kids - of a few carfeully selected areas of Tasmania. We opted for the first night in Richmond, before continuing on to Bruny Island, then Hobart and the Tasman Peninsula.
Having checked into our accomodation at the pub at Alonnah, we still had an hours of so of daylight left to visit the Lighthouse. The poor old hire car was punished on the crappy National Park roads, but we got there eventually..... albeit only 25 minutes before the gate to the parking are was supposed to be closed. So it was a quick power walk up the hill to the Lighth House and this cache.
The weather was quite moody - how fitting for a Light House on remote blustery hill. Very scenic. I would have liked to stay longer, but when the light started blinking at the other lighthouse, I realised the gate would soon be shut and headed back.
Great spot for a cache, most worthy of a crooked favourite.
Many thanks membsec.

Although the phone had me down to 0.00 I did not find it. A little pressure from muggles didn't help. The scenery made up for the lack of a find. Great spot worth the drive which we all enjoyed.
