DNF - Geosense not working for me today, perhaps the drizzly weather has something to do with it. Will keep an eye on the activity for this one, then revisit. TFTC
Dropped a friend at the Learning Connexion next door, then a quick park'n'grab here. All good, tftc!
A quick find for today's world record attempt! Thanks for having this park n grab so I don't have the brave the trails in this weather!
Our first find today and Mr M5 had it in hand before I had the GPSr turned on! TFTC
Last cache after doing a circular walk up to the old Snakes Gully cache. Quickly spotted . Thanks for the cache.
Out in the area today and since it was all quiet here I was able to stop for a quick find of another in this series. All good here, TFTF.
A nice easy find, after a DNF at the church. Hey, did you see the nearby place? The Learning Connexion. Obviously spelling is not taught there! But I do like the flags out the front.
A nice quick find thanks. Last find for the day.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. A quiet day around the Hutt today, preparing for the travel over the ditch tomorrow. The weather was good for caching and biking, a little on the hot side, otherwise fine.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Having just hosted an event in Avalon Park, Lower Hutt, I went for a drive afterwards to try for some local caches in an area I don't get to visit very often. I was aiming for a few park 'n' grabs as well as the chance to look for some solved puzzles and Challenge caches that I've qualified for.
This was (hopefully) going to be a quick park 'n' grab. Being a Saturday afternoon, I don't know whether the area around GZ was quieter than it would normally be, but there weren't many people around as I walked over to investigate GZ. My GPS initially led me to a spot about 5m away from where I found the cache, which chewed up a few minutes of search time before I looked in a likely hide spot and found the cache.
I soon added my name to the log and then replaced everything back as found ready for the next finder. Thanks for setting this cache up.

Seems such an obvious place once I actually found it! Great spot! Log is full, might need adding a few pages
The last cache of the day. We enjoyed the loop walk this afternoon. Thanks for placing the caches
Out and about and managed to grab a few GROET caches. Thanks CO for keeping the series going.
Finally found this one. Should have had a closer look at the first place I tried. Tftc
Last find today just 20 m from the car. Quite busy road care and stealth required. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
We went up the hill and we found out it was at the bottom then we walked down and we were just walking around then we went and seen bugs then we found it. Best one yet
Found on a cycle ride - Belmont, Taita, Wingate, around to the cemetry, Riverside Drive down to Waiwhetu, across to the River Trail and back to Belmont. A really nice few hours of caching. TFTC
Being a Saturday I parked in the nearby drive way and walked the short distance to the cache. No problems with the search. TFTC .
Today we planned to get a couple of the caches on the hill behind Taita college but the GPS showed this cache next to where we had parked so it was an unexpected bonus find before heading up the hill.
Quick find this afternoon with Aussie Idol during a short lunch break. No problems with the cache and log. All good. Cheers for the cache.
Nice quick find in the obvious place. After dropping my pen somewhere on the loop track, I had to go back to the car to get another - luckily it was only a few hundred metres away. Nice to tick off another five of the series this morning - TFTC.
I scored some cheap flights to Wellington for the weekend! I had a great time exploring and finding caches!! There was a car parked up and I though that was a cacher, but they soon drove off and no signatures in the logbook for today. TFTC!
# 1357 Out for a quick park and grab this fine autumn evening (almost autumn). Parked in front of the closed gate and ventured in for the find. While at the cache, some students came down from the nearby art school and unlocked the gate and ventured out with their cars. Observing them it didnt seem to take them long to lock the gate, and sure enough, the chain was just a deception and the padlock doesnt lock anything. ahhaha anyway. Cache easily found and lovely and dry in its nook. Thanks for the cache of the day.
Find #3057. Caching day on the bike, completing 38kms around Lower Hutt, with the weather undecided if it wanted to be hot or cold, sunny or cloudy, but definitely windy from the SW. The location was obvious from approach, quick and easy. SL TFTC
Now we arrived at Taita after our long and tiring walk. this cache was found fast. Thanks
Thanks for the cache. I haven't been out caching for a wee while, nice to get back into it.
Great to get a find heading back to Upper Hutt after the Rata St Loop Walk Event. Tftc
What an elongated weekend with firstly an over night at waikanae and gatherin g in a few caches around there, and then onto the Hutt valley, travelling through to the Wellington Airport to pick up geo son and head to Karori where we stayed for the weekend and I stayed on for a further day or two before heading back up north again. At least the SH 1 was open going home and I I didn’t have to travel over Paekakariki hill which I did on Friday.
I managed several caches around Hayward/ manor park area, Avalon, Lower hutt and then around the coast to Breakers bay etc etc before going to rongotai and then south to Moa point etc. before heading to the Airport.
Saturday we picked up a couple of challenge caches and others on the way up to the Event, getting there in time to register and head to the CITO event. Then a few more challenge caches and trads before heading to the Flash mob. Back to the venue where we had tea and got ready for the quiz night. Which unfortunately went on a little long.
Sun day saw us pick up a long over due mystery cache on tinakori road before heading to Petone and then up to Upper Hutt where we completed the Lab caches some puzzle caches and thee wherigo before heading back to Karori to have tea with grand chn and family etc.
Monday we went to Zealandia where we completed two more caches before taking geo son back to the airport. I then drove home the next day after the bulk of the traffic had gone.
It was a great weekend and a great Mega event . thanks to the organisers and ALSO thanks to the REVIEWER who alerted CO about the status of the their caches etc so most caches were actually there and not missing. This was a truly amazing effort on the REVIEWERs part. Thank you.
WENZ is New Zealand's 5th Mega Event ever and for months I have been anticipating in attending it. It is the first Mega Event that I have ever attended and sadly I could only come for one day, so early on Saturday morning my father and I got in the car and drove our way towards Upper Hutt for a hectic day of geocaching. In the end it was a spectacular day where we managed to found 67 geocaches somehow throughout the whole day, see a lot of new faces, catch up with friends and just have an altogether amazing time.
We were heading towards Wellington for the Waves to Wairarapa amazing race questions and quickly stopped here to pick an answer to a question nearby and this geocache.
This was a really quick pit-stop as I saw the geocache just as we were parking the car so once I got out I went straight to the geocache and signed it.

#16202. The container was quickly located, but took a bit of retrieving. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker NZ. After attending the pre Mega Fish and Chip event, it was time to head back to Naenae where we are staying, but light enough to find a few caches sort of en route.
This was the last cache of the day and it was a quickish park and grab - I found the cache straight away but had a bit of trouble retrieving - SW to the rescue! Thanks for all your cache hides, GLAD-NZ.

Day two. Part one. I decided to take two extra days off work for WENZ weekend. Bbear arrived last night and we are staying in Upper Hutt. Today's plan is to stay in the Hutt and Petone area most of the day until after the fish n chip event. Thanks for hiding and maintaining your geocache.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

Enjoying welly for the start of the mega yippee. This was o e we were just passing. Cheers
Was in the Hutt Valley for work this afternoon again and decided that since I was in the area I might as well check my GPSr and see what cache was around so that I could pick up a cache for the day. Decided to check the GPSr and after having a good look I soon settled on this cache as it wasnt too far from where I was.
The drive to GZ didnt take too long as I have being here before I knew which roads that I needed to take to make my way to GZ. Once I arrived near GZ, I soon spotted where GZ was going to be and I managed to find a safe parking spot within 10 metres from GZ.
Got of the car and made my way towards GZ, arriving at GZ it only took me a few seconds to spot something and we soon realised that it was the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks GLAD-NZ for placing another GROET cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13811). Definitely GLAD to get another GROET cache off my list of unfound caches.
Was GLAD that there were no muggles around, now it is time to continue on my way to my to my next appointment.

Parked up at the driveway to the Learning Connection - this was exactly where i thought it might be! My caching brain is working. TFTC
Found this one on a GROET hunting trip in the Hutt/Stokes Valley area with Flowerydaze. All good with this TFTC.
On a mission with Talla64 to tick off a few more GROETs. This mission so far has taken us all over the Hutt Valley and Stokes Valley, to places we've not been before. Thanks for all the placements GLAD-NZ. All the containers and logs we've found in this series have been in good condition. Thanks for all the caches.
We haven't geochached recently and saw this series getting published. We were heading back from Upper Hurt and I remember there was a new one by the learning connection. I had a bit of a look (longer than it should have taken due to lack of practice) found the cache logged and return. TFTC we will use these to help with dot days.
A quick couple of days work in Wellington.
This customer knew about my geocaching hobby and over the first cup of coffee asked if I was still doing it. YEAP was my answer and started explaining about the upcoming Mega in Wellington late this year.
I took out my phone to show him AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW!!!!
Straight accross the road was a new cache that wasnt there last time I was in the area.
It was just TO RUDE NOT to attempt this. I made sure that I left a little early for the airport and stopped quickly to grab this cache.
Quick easy find. As it turned out my flight was delayed so I would have had time to grab a couple more but I do want to save some for the Mega!!!

#5947. I needed a few more caches today to boost the August numbers. So yet another trip over to the Hutt Valley today. Seems to be my go to place at the moment. Glad to have another GROET to locate. Parked next to this one but still had to bide my time as rush hour traffic roared past. Once found it took some prising out. Wasn't sure if it was magnetic or not. Pleased it wasn't. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here GLAD-NZ.
Quick find where all good at GZ. Found in the way to work. Thanks for another smilie and keeping my streak alive.

(# 4634). Had the day off to take someone to the airport. After doing the drop off I went to get some caches up the valley my main objective was to get a number of the GROET series sprinkled with a few others. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Discovered that buses travel extremely fast in this area, when trying to cross the busy road.
Cache soon found, and a little more care was taken when returning to the car
