Great little park and find.Cache has no lid so log is fairly exposed and wet.TFTC
Another in the series found as we make our way along here today. We replaced the sodden log. TFTC # 20,165
I was last out this way 2 years ago for the same reason as today - dropping EtherGirl off at Camp Rangi Woods for Gangshow rehearsal camp.
With a bit more time up my sleeve today, I managed to tick off a few more caches along the way.
This cache was on my hit list to fill a hole on my "date placed" calendar.
As I pulled up at GZ, passenger TwigNZ jumped out and threw the container to me through the open window.
The lid was on very tightly and unfortunately it has become brittle over time and cracked in my hands as i tried to loosen it. Having said that, I'm not convinced that it wasn't already cracked as the logbook was pretty damp.

Out and about with Flowerydaze, Taybee and TaybeeNZ on a lovely autumn day in the Manawatu. A lot of dusty roads to cover today to get the caches required. Log signed as TNZFT to save space on the log sheet. TFTC Madge Family
Out and about with Talla64, Taybee and Taybee NZ finding caches to help fulfill one of the Wheel of Fortune Challenges. A drive in the country, with great views and a warm, sunny Autumn day - what more could we want? All logs were signed TNZFT to save time and space on the logsheet. Thanks for the cache Madge Family.

I was able to fit in a bit of rural caching in the Manawatu today. An unexpected opportunity to escape the concrete jungle and enjoy the rural countryside for a few hours. TFTC
Today StreetWalkerNZ and I are heading up the Pohangina Valley to find the remaining unfound 20/20 caches and some solved Wildbore multis plus what ever else takes our fancy. Then the scenic route back to Palmy via (late) lunch in Feilding and a few other caches.
Bit of a steep drop off near GZ, and a quick find. TFTC.

#21144. There is an unfenced drop-off not far from GZ, so be careful where you park. Quick P+G for us. TFTC.
At the start of my last dusty unsealed road, parked across and headed to GZ. Log was wet mush so removed and added in a fresh dry piece of paper.
A second full weekend in the area and with early Autumn temperatures preceding a (likely) week of rain I was keen to get out and about for a days local caching. mrs c works on a Sunday at the minute so after dropping her off in Feilding I had a 'plan' of heading up the Pohangina Valley on one side of the river then return back on the other. My over-ambitious pocket query had a great number of possible options, though as the day wore on, and the dust accumulated on the Tiida I reined myself back in a little. Was still a great day to be out, nice and sunny, hardly any wind, and a haul of 64 caches, with 6 DNFs. Thanks to all COs but mostly watcache and Mar1sa for their prolific offerings.

Mrs Rubbishparty was visiting Palmy for the weekend so decided today to explore the East side of the Pohangina valley having explore the West side last week. Quick find after doing some of the Pettifar. Cache all fine. Thanks madge family for the smiley.
Decided to grab a few caches in the area on my way back to Auckland after nice Halloween Geocaching Events in the area! It was one of them.

I was awake, after spending the night in Totora Reserve as part of the Halloween Geocaching Spectactular, first thing in the morning, as usual. I was about to head off for an early morning walk (and cache finding) when Ethermiss and Ethermaster showed up, so we all walked up the hill toHighland home together. Found the cache there then Ethermaster headed back, but Ethermiss and I walked on for this cache before returning for bacon and eggs breakfast.
My first Wildbore cache! Nice to see the old photos. I think forgotten history make some of the best geocaches.

#8667. I came up to the Manawatu on Friday with Infoferret to attend the four events being held at Totara Reserve this weekend. After a fun day so far at the community celebration event doing field puzzles and finding newly placed caches in a convoy of eager cachers, it was time now for a few hours of quieter activity before the evening halloween event. We parked nearby and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced everything as found. Thanks Madge Family for hiding this one here. Time now to explore Opawe Road.

Today's adventure was planned for the caches on the eastern side of the Pohangina River. I had thought about staring from the top and working my way down the river.
The cache had no exit as it between a rock and some soil and a post.
Cheers for the cache.

Nice quick find - really enjoying this series with its interesting theme and history. Thank you.
I had recently solved a puzzle further along this road, so decided to head out today and collect a few caches out this way. spacenarwhale came along for the ride, acting as navigator and scribe. This was my first cache of the day and was a quick, straight forward find.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Today I was out caching with my son ThatWeirdGuy04 and one of my regular caching friends Stardust718, with the aim of travelling around the Pohangina Valley to attempt as many caches as we could manage in our day, concentrating on the Wildbore series but also stopping for any others along the way or else caught our fancy.
All logs for today were signed at either "Team S.T.T" or else simply "S.T.T" as space on logsheets allowed. The weather forecast had not been the best for today, but we set of in the hope that there would be enough dry spells or at least breaks in the rain to allow us to collect enough caches to be able to complete the Mystery at the Museum event currently running through Groundspeak. After about 8 hours of caching we had collectively found 46 caches, with a further 7 DNF's, which was sufficient to enable my son and I to complete MATM.
A very quick find here, in the first place we looked. No issues with the container and log, so it was duly signed and the whole thing replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

I teamed up with ThatWeirdGuy04 and TwigNZ for a day of caching in the Pohongina Valley to work our way through the requirements for the Mystery at the Museum event. I'd looked at the Wildbore series when it first came out but hadn't had the chance to come out here and find them until now. We had a good day finding 46 caches in 8 hours between showers of rain. We signed the logs with our team initials - S T T or team STT depending on space. We were pleased with the condition most of the caches were in today so very little maintenance was required. The roads were however, rather narrow with the edge begin quite boggy so many of the caches we had to park away from and walk back.
A nice quick find here so the cache was found, signed and replaced.

Quickly found. It was rather exposed so covered it a bit better. Thanks Madge Family.
Called here on a day drive from Wellington to find some more of the caches in the region. A quick and easy find for this one. Thanks for the cache and the interesting bits of history!
Was in Palmerston North for work and had managed to solve a puzzle cache in the Pohangina Valley and had decided that since I had managed to finish work early I might as well go and pick up this cache and a few more if time allows.
After finding GC7GMRF - Highland Home (Manawatu), and still with a bit more time I decided that since I was in the area I might as well grab a few more caches that I had here before making my way to Fielding for an event cache and catching up with the locals.
This was the next cache that I had on my list that I wanted to go and find today, as I got near to GZ, I was able to find a safe parking across the road about 40 metres from GZ. As I was walking to GZ, I decided to read the hint and upon doing this it was so obvious as where the cache was going to be. Arriving at GZ had a quick look and managed to spot a suspicion looking pile and upon closer inspection I soon spotted something and soon realised that it was the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks Madge Family for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (14299).
Was glad to get another Wildbore cache off my list of unfound caches, now it is time to go and see what the next cache is in this area.

thank you for these caches along our way today dodging the few showers in the area earlier in the day and stopping at Camp Rangi woods for an early lunch.

Saw this cache come live, and decided to hold off getting this one as we had a specific challenge in mind so toay was the day that we would come for a drive up into the mighty pohangina valley and do a maintenance run on our ones out this way.

bit of a geocaching weekend for us and at times we joined forces with other teams so logs have been signed either 2 Bulbars, 2x, bwx depending on how many in the team had signed the log before.
The weekend started midday Friday and finished about 6 pm sunday. We didn't go too hard and stopped for sleeps and good meals basing ourselves in Feilding . The weather was good all weekend although it did rain a little bit at night.
Many thanks to all the COs who placed these caches making it possipble for us to enjoy our hobby.
I must say sorry for all the cut and paste but if we really enjoyed a cache I will add a bit at the start of the comment so you don't need to read right through.
Thanks to our driver who supplied the car and the good person who put a thermos and a few snacks in the car for us so we could keep our strength up

Team BOP decided that with the MEGA rapidly approaching, we need to boost our numbers so we could try for a milestone number at the Mega. I am approaching my 3000th cache but was still about 325 caches away from that. Reaching the milestone may or may not happen, but this weekend certainly was about the numbers. I had an initial target I was trying to beat and that was my highest number of caches found in one day and we comfortably beat that, achieving 158 caches (subject to confirmation, once I log them all).
The best way to do the high numbers is with power trails and out here, there is a smorgasborg of powertrails.
We loaded up the van, gathered up all seven of us and headed to our accomodation somewhere in the middle of nowhere, getting there well after dark. The location was convenient, as it was right in the thick of a power trail territory.
There was no splitting us up, as we only had one vehicle, so we all experienced the cache locations, some beautiful and some not so.
As with powertails we have done in the past, there was a high proportion of waterlogged caches, but unlike powertails we have done previously, we managed to find every cache and were glad to be able to clear out an area. Also, with powertails, comes cut and paste logs, to which I apologise for.
Thanks to all those CO's who have placed the caches out there. Without you, our fun road trips wouldnt exist. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and got home completely shattered. It was so worth it.

Team BOP on tour in the Manawatu-Whanganui Region... With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, NZFlossy, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro.
This weekend had been in the pipeline for ages. It was always going to be a mission for various team members to get coordinated leave passes... We secured accommodation in the rural heart of the Manawatu. This placed us well within reach of a massive trail of caches... We travelled in one vehicle, so our journey was filled with lots of laughs, and good times... Fortunately, the majority of caches were in place and were fairly quick to locate - thanks to straightforward hints and great coordinates. Many of the caches had not been found in a while, so containers were waterlogged, and logbooks were wet... Thank goodness for waterproof paper. A huge thank you also, to the various COs who made our weekend worthwhile... TFTC.

Road trip time! This weekend Team BOP consisted of Davidson Clan, TNXPro, Squirrelnutcase, FapAndGap, McJandals, NZFlossy & myself. We'd had this trip on the cards for a while but only recently had we locked in all the details. We were off to central Manawatu and we had a very narrow list of ‘must gets’ so this trip was essentially a numbers mission. We had a great time and managed just over 200 finds. Most of the caches were found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and straight forward placements although we replaced a lot of logs and a few containers as well. A huge thank you to the CO’s as this was a beautiful area to visit and there was certainly an abundance of geocaches!!
On a road trip with Team BOP, having a blast and gathering a few smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
On a road trip with Team BOP to Feilding. Set off Friday night and back home Sunday. Lots of caches and lots of laughs with great weather and great scenery. Thanks to all the COs for giving us a awesome trip
a day out collecting all the wildbore caches that have been popping up around here, the rain was off and on and we took most of the day but well worth the drive and the great history of the area. - thanks for taking the time to give us some great inside to the area and of course the caches

Early morning start to find some caches on Pohangina Valley East Road before ten pin bowling later in the morning. Quick park and grab here. Thanks Madge Family for the cache.
What better thing to do on this beautiful, fine, mild winter day than go up into our beloved Pohangina Valley and do some geocaching?
So we packed up a picnic and off we set, our sights on 12 Wildbore caches we had yet to find. Well we found 10, and enjoyed our peaceful day in the valley with it's lovely vistas of terraces, hills and valleys, snowy mountain backdrop, trees and birds - bliss.
All the way up the valley we have been enjoying the peace and quiet - there has been hardly anyone about - but that's good for caching. It belies the busyness of the past with forest felling, bush burning and so on that was going on all the way up here then.
This was cache #8 for us today. It was a very quick, straightforward find. There's a good view down to the river form here too. TFTC

No problem making the find here.
As we were signing the log, a large flock of about 20 wood pigeons flew off. The first of many spotted today. We've never seen so many together before. Usually we see them in pairs!

Was doing some work around the house when a load of pings kept coming from the direction of my phone. Checked to find a lovely treat of some new caches, perfect to assist with getting nearer to the World turtle in the Hidden Creatures challenge.
I finished my tasks and decided to head out to collect some of these before heading around to family for an afternoon of board games at my brother’s. Another interesting piece of local history here and another quick find. TFTC
