Brighton was the next stop on our geocaching tour of Tasmania. Headed out for an afternoon of caching on a chilly day to find the few caches out and about here. We enjoyed our afternoon and all the caches we looked for were found. Thanks to all the CO for adding to the game and performing maintenance where necessary.Last one for today I am pretty certain we came to this place a few years ago to see the devils. Cache container really needs replacing, its shredded. TFTC
Fast find as we head from the NW Coast to Hobart for a Roller Derby training session for LittleBoo. Been a super fast drive down even through fog which left is a little time to grab caches before his session TFTC
We found it. The container is scratched to pieces are barely holding together. The geo dot was on the opposite side of the fence to the cache so we took a bit of time to find it as the hint said not to cross any fences.
TFTC! After visiting bonorongs wildlife sanctuary, we stop to do this cache before heading south to complete our pancake honeymoon adventure:) The cache was found out in the open (around 3m from GZ) and cache had been scratched open via the side by an animal MAINTENANCE NEEDED! We signed the log book and placed cache in a place that looks right (at GZ) but looks like an animal my have made it a home. Taken Ooshie trackable for an adventure.
Today Zozetta and I went caching out at Brighton and Pontville to try and turn all the green (and one blue) icons yellow. We found all but one of the caches there and then found some more caches at Honeywood and Old Beach on the way back home. In total we had fifteen finds and one DNF. Nine traditionals, five ad lab locations and a mystery made up the days finds.A quick find in the obvious spot. The hint didnt make much sense to us though. Thanks for the cache curry4MVP!
We spent the rainy morning at the Bonorong Wildlife Park, where we got to feed the kangaroos and learned how the baby wombats kick their parents out of the den when they grow up (and don't give our kids any ideas, please!)
Of course the ladies headed straight for the gift shop on the way out, giving me time to walk down the hill and find this cache.

I got a service call in Launceston and that was going to make it a long day for me.
So as a break, I did a little geocaching. This was one of the finds i made on my way north. Container needs replacing as it has been attacked by some wildlife.
Thanks for the cache!

Found after a visit to the sanctuary. Loved the wombats! Container is a bit mangled. Thanks very much for the cache.

1st Tasmania cache!
Out caching with Puglumps for Invasion Day. Quick find. Cache container starting to corrode, so will need replacing. Next time I'm driving past I'll see if still needs a new container. Picked up the trackable. TFTC.
Our first and only cache we had time to get whilst we were exploring Tasmania from Perth, WA. Dropped off a trackable and collected one. Now off to Bonorong.
Went bush for a little while but then found it. Sending Goliath the trackable on his way. He had a big trip from Forth, Northern Tasmania had a holiday in Snug and did a day trip to Bruny Island and then came to Bonorong. TFTC!
Found this one easily after visiting the park.
Can’t believe how much Kangroos love their neck scratched! Great day out!
Thanks for the cache!

Adelaide to Hobart Road Trip
Day Four: Latrobe to New Norfolk
Weather: the big wet begins
Another LGA claim cache, and this looks like the sort of place I’d like to visit on a return trip on a nicer day.
Wild Life is right, the cache looks half eaten. At first I thought it might be theming, but recent logs haven’t commented on it. The cache won’t be waterproof so I hope it survives the rain that is heading this way.
Thanks for this hide CBCurry.

The trip had been planned for a long time, but with each passing day the nervousness grew.It went to the other side of the world, about 15,000 km more than the longest journey so far.I think it was one of the greatest adventures one can experience. The time was short, but it should be at least a handful of cans, this one was one of them.Thank you for the effort and fun.Reudnitzer
Bonorong is such a wonderful place.what a view. Some lil shit has scribbled through the log. Tftc
Found it, had trouble initially. Hint: the hint doesn’t help much but it’s still possible
Early easy find as we like it. Someone has scribbled on every page. There are some thoughtless people around. Tftc
I have been to Bonorong many times and raised a few wallabies in a past life, but all before being a geocacher, so was keen to find this cache. A perfect spot for a possum hide. Cache has definitely been nibbled, but not by a possum …. maybe a rat!
Out with Georode and Beardman75 for a few more finds.
Touring Brighton and surrounds I added this one to my list of finds
Thank you for hiding here

Thanks for the cache! First find with a new geocacher and this one was a nice easy one to start with!
Quick find to satisfy my found dates calendar. Container is cracked and needs replacing.

Quick find during our trip to Tazzie, after checking out all the animals at the wildlife sanctuary
Today we decided to head to Bridgewater and surrounds and find a few more caches that we have not found and to make them a smilie. A great day out, not too cold, sun out allowed us to enjoy the great outdoors.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

This saved the day for this county as we couldnt find the letterbox so went looking for something easy. It was already dark and it had been a massive day already

Aquilus1 and I have been on a mission.....a mission to collect Australian states/counties. The target this time was Tasmania, with neither of us having found a cache yet in Tassie. So a loop was planned, starting/finishing in Lonny (even the plane pilot called it this!! Love that!). I was driving so my logs are a little more generic than Aquilus1's, my apologies.
Day #1 Leave Canberra at sparrows, transiting through Melbourne and collecting our car....first things first was to get the oldies along the cataract gorge, which was great as Aquilus1 had never been to Tassie before and its a great place to start. Onwards up the Tamar and then zigzagging across through Devonport, Burnie and eventually ending at Stanley.
Day #2 had us go back to Devonport for a FTF......yay! Then onto Hobart, via Queenstown! Long day through blizzards, hydro power and SO MUCH NOTHING! Beautiful nothing of course
Day #3 around Tassie.....into Huon valley, freezing to death in the water in Clarence, passed Port Arthur to see some caves and ending up in Sorrell
Day #4 was power trailing large letterboxes until we had to head back north to Lonny, via Buckland, Oatlands, Fingal and Scottsdale..... dodging wildlife after dark.....so scary!
Day #5 was a quick duck over to Flinders and back..... car rental place thought we were nuts! Then back to Canberra, safe and snug under my blanket for the -5 night.....now THATS cold!

We had a cache earlier in the county but the dark and terrain of it didn't lend so well when this one did. Perfect for night time and we soon had the cache signed and off again towards Hobart in search of accomodation.
Trip log: Day 2 of 5 with GreyHams on our Tasmanian Caching Trip. A trip planned with counties, and caches of quality as we pass. If your cache made our list it had a quality we sort... thank you for your cache!
My first trip to Tassie and what day of highlights and variety it was. Starting at Stanley it was a pretty little village, historic relics and scenic coastal vistas, just lovely. We drove through moss covered forest of ferns, waterfalls by the road and little streams, waterways and lakes shadowed by huge mountains finding caches and exploring as we went.
Queenstown offord a change to mining and more barren landscape but a town time forgot and a yummy pie with earthcache opportunities every where.
It was cold but pleasant enough but with the temp dropping to 1°C and snow on the hill tops as we passed it was no surprise but very cool to have it snow for a long distance as we drove with snow sitting heavy on the ground.
Starting the day with a slight detour way back past Bernie to a Tasmanian FTF opportunity we luckily managed to achieve. We made it almost into Hobart for the night, a distance of such varied and awesome sights with GreyHams list of caches our guide... great day!

First cache for the day after free camping last night at Kempton.
The container was quite chewed and there was scribble on nearly every page in the log book but it was quite signable and the contents seemed dry.
Thanks.

Found it a bit exposed so have put it back where we thought it should be. Someone has scribbled on all the pages of the log book. TFTH
