Out for a nice drive in the area and hopefully find some caches. Parked near the bowlo - too wet to be playing today. Walked up to the park. Got the coords and the cache. TFTC
Today was a drive down to Wollombi and picking up what we can along the way. An overcast cool day, but still enjoyable. Not sure how we would vote, but either way, the road needs some work, only one nice smooth stretch.Total Caches Found 16180TFTC Banj5150
Another day of rain making it hard to cache but armed with rain jackets we set off to once more explore the area with the local caches.A simple off set multi with an easy find. Thanks Banj5150 for the multi placement.
Found at 12:35 PM GAFF1.Worked out the answer at home before coming on this trip and just needed to see the actual plaque to confirm and when I then decided to re-do the co-ords I found that I had totally stuffed up the South co-ords - that will teach me to not drink one of my favourite Heathcote wines while thinking I was smart [B)]Anyway - instead of going 3.8 kms north for the final which btw was in a very promising location as it was in a COAL MINE location! How perfect was that?So the better co-ords were just 190 metres away and so with tail between the legs I ventured over - well drove over because it would have been a 380 m return trip Arrived at a very inconspicuous spot after seeing some very conspicuous spots and was once again thinking that the Heathcote wine was at fault - but no! There was a very inconspicuous hide sitting there [^]Thanks to Banj5150Feedback: FP given for the fun or pegging down involved in this cache find.
Heading north we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them while staying at Cessnock.
We gathered the required info and headed to GZ and made a quick find. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

With large numbers of family present I was starting to get a little over crowded so I got a few hours quiet time to grab some supplies and collect a few geocaches. Thought these would be mainly park and grabs but some were a bit more challenging (and three I couldn’t locate) but a nice run anyway.
First multi visited but argon’s signed Council workers weee between WP1 and GZ so jumped in the car and came back on the return journey and accessed from a different point. second circuit of GZ before I spotted the cache - a few months of natural camo in place. Log signed and on my way.

Find No: 8702. Out for the day with with shaneo58 & Justontime, called in to say g'day to techsavvy9 and had a beaut lunch (Lamb Pie) at Wollombi Tavern, thanks for the cache Banj 5150!!
#9169 (2 of 20 today - including 5 Adventure Labs)
I am gradually catching up with my logging - I'm missing two months worth or so. And that's over 100 caches! At least my most recent finds are up to date - just need to fill in the gap!
To be honest, while I still find searching for caches fun, I'm finding logging less so. But I have to log to get me stats and souvenirs, so...
Only a few Adventure Labs and my First2Finds have been written up in a timely manner - don't want people racing out when it's already been snaffled.
Nevertheless, I have kept up with my 2022 goal of 16 finds per caching day. In fact, for the most part my modus operandi has been to actually aim for 20. So far I've only failed on that a few times, and only by 1 find. Amazingly I'm on track for 19 finds per day, I just have to put my mind to my future goals... 25 per day? Owwww.
Thanks to all the CO's who have made it possible to keep my goal in sight. Most of the finds have been Traditionals, but a few Puzzle series and the odd other cache type have been grabbed where possible.
Sorry the logs are very generic, but I'll never catch back up otherwise.
###END OF GENERIC ABJECT GROVELLING SECTION###
Headed up to the Hunter for a real cache binge today. Many were little more than park and grabs, but I was glad to snaffle a few Multis and a bonus for the AL.
Final count for the day - 20. Top haul on a pleasant day out.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Easy calculation and find. But the cache was full of ants!
Cleaned them out before signing, replacing and heading for my next target.

As sleepy Paxton wakes to the raucous cries of the cockatoos, on this misty morning, I have an easy solve, and find. I had cousins in Paxton. He was a timber getter for the mine, cutting props and sleepers. Tftc.
Quick multi, classic camo. Once GZ was calculated, a short stroll over and CIH.
Some local teens began using the bike track as I was leaving, stayed to watch for a couple of minutes.

When we pulled up there was a lady and a young child in the park already. Normally that would be time for us to leave but this was a multi and we only needed to look at a plaque. The kid though seemed very interested in what we were doing and even came over to clean the plaque and lie on it.
Mrs Woodyrothwell is a prep teacher and was even able to school that kid to give us the answers. What could be better than some kid learning numbers while he gives us the coordinates to the final. tftc

Doing some caching in the Hunter Valley region with illook4geo today and enjoying the caches and the views that the area has to offer. There was no trouble finding this one but had added a bit more camo. The container and log here were in good condition, with the log being signed with either both full names or sometimes just initials. Thanks go to Banj5150 for placing this cache. A nice direct multi is always fun.
Out caching with goingplaces2 and enjoying the day. This was an easy find with the new co-ords being good. TFTC.
Tftc Banj5150, nice simple Multi, no probs, doing the math or finding the cache. Plenty of roos watching, but no muggles on this damp morning
Annoyingly I have to put DNF for now. This was my first attempt at a multi and just decided to have a go on a whim whilst taking the baby for a walk for his nap and this proved what I first thought, I am not prepared or experienced enough to do Multis haha. I figured out the puzzle easily enough but with a couple of crappy app downloads not giving me what I needed (the coordinates location) and me trying for a while with the compass on my phone, I couldn’t find it and then it started to rain. I’ll have to try again on our next walk. Bit frustrating but the rock with the plaque has been vandalised, the rock pulled out of the ground and knocked over.
Maitland Day 4, camped at the showgrounds.
As the others headed to complete the dogs head we headed south to Cessnock then continued through to Hillfield & Wollombi. We had a couple of AL to do & a variety of caches to find.
We enjoyed our drive into the countryside away from the bustle of the city & cars.
Manage to drive a touch closer to the final, the heat was intense today.
Thankyou Banj5150 for placing this cache.

It was my last off week , So when Mr Minion suggested a day caching today I jumped at the chance. We started out early and the weather was brilliant. Saw some great views and had some laughs. A truly great day indeed.
After doing a few caches in the area and the lab at Wollombi . We stopped for this cache as well. After doing what was required it was a short walk and a quick find at GZ . Thanks for the cache Banj Ward tnln replaced as found sl

Out today for a drive to Wollombi and then along east through Millfield to Freeman's Waterhole and back to the M1. Upon arrival at the park, I pulled out my GPSr and, forgetting it was a multi, immediately started searching for a container at the listed coordinates. Doh! Thankfully I remembered before drawing too much attention to myself, then quickly had the required numbers for the final. Once there it was soon spotted.
Many thanks for this enjoyable multi and the interesting lesson on the history of Paxton.

Knowing that a new AL had come online at Wollombi, I suggested to my snuggle muggle this morning that a drive in the country followed by lunch somewhere would be a great way to enjoy today's gorgeous spring-like weather. She was up for it, though she realised that caching would also be on the day's agenda. Not much, I assured her, just six quick stops in Wollombi before lunch, and then a few roadside ones on the way home through Cessnock.
This was one of the "few" ... we detoured here off Wollombi Road when I realised that Paxton and Ellalong were just minutes away. Found the plaque (and the year thereon) quickly and saw that I had to take a little walk to finish this one off. My phone's GPS guided me right there and business done, it was then off to Ellalong.
Thanks for the hide and for bringing me to Paxton Banj Ward.
PS
I picked up a TB called "Paxton" in Far North Queensland recently ... had I realised at the time, I would have dropped the TB here so that could spend time in its namesake town, but at least Paxton has got to visit Paxton ... and he's spending time in the Paxton area anyway as I dropped him in a cache nearby in Bellbird.

We came up to Hunter Valley for a few days of food and wine. Of course a visit to the region is not complete without doing some of the caches in the area.
On our third day in the area I was granted time to do some geocaching. Starting in Cessnock, I wanted to follow the road to Millfield and Wollombi, with a nice selection of caches along the way.
After arriving in Millfield, I drove to nearby Paxton. This is a quaint little town, with some lovely cottages. Stopping at Paxton Park, the plaque was quickly located and after doing the maths, I walked with my geodog to the nearby GZ. Here the cache was found in good condition.
TFTC Banj Ward!

Headed out and about for a cache today, and as I still needed a few multis for a challenge cache in Victoria, I made the journey to this one.
Arrived at WP1 where the numbers were quickly plotted, and then it was over to GZ for a speedy find! Lovely park!

Out for a drive away from the Central Coast today and what a gorgeous day it is to celebrate International Geocaching Day! Lovely walk in the park and made quick work of the puzzle. Hopefully they get a shower of rain out here soon.
Container in good condition. Log book dry but will need a new plastic bag (I didn’t have one on me, sorry). TFTCSL Thanks for placing Banj Ward

We stopped off to undertake this Multi-cache on passing through Paxton today. We soon found the numbers required at the waypoint given and then with our GPS updated with the corrected co-ordinates we walked on towards Ground Zero where the nicely camouflaged cache was quickly located. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Out this way grabbing some caches for the morning. Great to see a cache in this little town, another nice multi, TFTC.
This was a minor detour off the Wollumbi Road, on our way to Cessnock. The required numbers were found and calculations made, then we set off for GZ which did not take long. A familiar container appeared and we were soon logged and driving off. Thanks Banj Ward for a good multi.
Decided to head out this way trying for a first find on a new cache. We ended up being second to find but we kept going anyway. We had a nice afternoon wine tasting and finding caches. The only bad bit was being stung by a wasp in the car which i was trying to squish as i thought it was a mosquito.
This was our second stop of the day and after a few minutes of reading and calculating i had the final coords. Then it was a short hot walk to the cache where we made a quick find. TFTC

The kids and I set off on our traditional New Years Day cache drive (one of them anyway!), choosing a route back out through Wollombi again, to pick up some new caches that have appeared since our last journey out here. Another day above 35 degrees made being out in the sun unpleasant at times. A great day was had, finishing off with a New Years event.
Another took far too long, and very nearly became a DNF. Coords were excellent, but a misinterpretation of the hint with some preconceived ideas and some leaf fall meant we searched right across the cache about 8 times before spotting it. TFTC Banj Ward

Im very excited. This is my 1st Multi I have found. Found with beary-unicorns. Thanks Banj for showing me how to read and use the coordinates. I loved the container.
As with previous finders I doubted my sums and did them again to make sure, but there it was. TFTC
That took longer than expected. Started questioning our sums, but the answer never changed... Then... Finally... TFTC
Decided to go for a drive with the whole family today and grab some of the new multis as I still need 20 of so more to reach a 200 multi challenge in Canberra.
Parked close by and quickly added up some numbers. Kids enjoyed the nearby playground while Daddy did the maths.
A short walk and a quick find thanks to very accurate coords at GZ.

*FTF* with kingfisher_au a nice park to visit and to find a cache. On a side note , if the log looks like it was signed by a 3 year old it was because our only pen stopped working but we still managed to mark the log. Thanks for bringing us here.
FTF with AussieBen nice part of the world with a nice wander around , low on pens in the car the only one we had gave up the ghost so out comes the multi tool to make a fountain pen but our calligraphy is pretty pool lol but x marks the spot fav from me too
