Travelling from Thredbo to Wodonga and caching as I go. Glad I detoured for this one. TFTC

# 21734. Moving day today, from Colac Colac to Walwa and a good start to the day with a 2TF that we saw published yesterday afternoon. Crossed the river a few times into NSW and back to Vic and managed to gather up 14 finds and a DNF (presumed missing). The scenery post-winter is good for the soul - lush greenery and happy cattle everywhere. Even managed snow views from The Bogong Moth.First interstate cache for the day and loved this one a lot. Even though I fell for the red herring. Suppose I might have sorted it eventually but it was Rob who was the wise one this morning. The wayside rest area was very wet after last night's rain and I was glad of the gumboots. Favourite point for this great letterbox cache. Thanks SciFiRulz

Day 4 of a short caching trip. BettyBoo3747 and I traveled between Colac Colac and Walwa, collecting caches along the river as we went. Some beautiful lookouts along the valley. A little bit of snow seen in the distance.A nice spot by the river, the dogs appreciated the walk.We used the wrong number first of course.Nicely constructed puzzle. Thanks, Robmc.

#6612.This was our favorite cache for the day! It had us stumped for a little while, but then it clicked. The kids were super excited to finally be able to retrieve the container. Thanks for creating this cache for us to find. FP awarded.

Found It!This campsite was packed out today but I was able to spot the cache from some distance away so I just wandered in, opened it and signed the book. When they are hidden in plain sight like this, I guess it doesn't really look suss at all finding them.TFTC

Find # 10734Looking at my stats I have a personal goal to meet before year end and its not an altogether small one. BUT when Im on a mission anything could happen. So, on a brief work trip to NE VIC and I have a long list of caches to collect so no time for spinning the wheels Picked up the trusty SUV hire car and off I go. Making the most of the opportunity for a few hours of caching fun. Via Piccadilly Circus at long last, its been a long time since Ive been up here. Pre-C in fact. Seeking out the occasional challenge or two, or trying to mop up as many solves as I can to keep that long list under control. Seems to increase faster than it decreases Quick easy find at Murray has mail here today. Cache container and log in good condition, unless otherwise stated.Fantastic, must admit I had to make contact with the CO for this on.Thanks so much for the many caches SciFiRulz and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light

We decided to tackle this one in two ways. One, the old-fashioned way with distances and locations, being taken note of, and the other one as a distance and bearing. We found ourselves at GZ, but we were oozed by the numbers needed and had made an incorrect assumption. A quick message to the CO, brought an answer back to our query, and confirmed our mistake. By this time, we were halfway up Mount Elliot, and then planning to spend the day in Corryong. On our return trip in the late afternoon from Corryong to Tumbarumba, where we are staying, we stopped once again, armed with our updated information. A couple of people were camping nearby. They took one look at us and pointed to the letterbox and said Its over there! We ended up having quite a chat with them, and then, after signing the log continued our car journey back to our campsite. Thanks SciFiRulz. Very entertaining!Domsky

Decided a while back now that I wanted to summit Kosciuszko for the first time for our 3000th find. Convinced the in-laws to watch the kidlets for a couple nights and off we went.Camped last night at Thredbo Diggings campground, up early and started our hike from Charlottes Pass. Wind was crazy all day.. however it was a nice 20 oppose to 36 back home. Still quite a lot of snow around and we had a couple small crossings, didn't do the full loop this time will attempt that another time. After spending the night camping at Tom Groggin today we were homebound - Ducked in here to complete this cache that I've passed a few times now. Few caravans near GZ but no one around, did the math and was soon signing the log. A nice idea and container, FP awarded. TFTC!

With a weekend ahead, plans were made to join MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 in a dash for another Community event in Corryong. We met up out at Yass and began our drive south and west. It was not until after Tarcutta that we found out first cache. The weather held good all day, but there was signs of flooding almost every where we went. The main goal for the day was made on time and a great time meeting some people I have not met before and some I have. We did a few more caches in the region and the local LABs before heading home for a late night.

This was quite an exercise. There was water along the fence to this cache, so we had to sacrifice wet feet. Even then on the first visit, the code number was missing, so we had to come back a second time after receiving the number at the event today. Thanks to MinnieK for sacrificing their shoes for this cache.

Now went drove home, stopping for dinner at Gundagai along the way.

Thanks for the cache SciFiRulz

Headed to Corryong today with fitzy_1965 and albida33.

Met up at Yass before heading south. Thankfully the weather held off, but I still got my feet wet at one cache.

After presolving GZ, I decided to get my feet wet for this one as the Murray had coming a calling and water was around a foot deep at the cache. Unfortunately, a part is missing so the CO was kind enough to give us the code to access the cache at her CCE that we had just come from. Again, wet feet and boots now cactus! but we had success.

Thanks SciFiRulz.

28,643. Found with minniek and albida33 during a fun run down this way to attend the Community Celebration Event in Corryong.

When we saw the Community Celebration Event in Corryong published we decided it was well worth the drive down to clean up a few more caches in the area, cache in Corryong for the first time, and possibly meet some new Cachers. We met up with albida33 in Yass - left our car there - and took the 4WD on the trip just in case we needed it (good idea!). After the event we continued on Caching. This was the next cache for the adventure. We pre-solved the GZ coordinates prior to our trip, so all we need was get to GZ for the find. Or so we thought ! The river had broken it's banks here and the area was ankle deep in water. minniek took one for the team and went out to GZ, but we couldn't work out the requird numbers. Luckily we knew we would see the CO at her event today, so we explained our problem and showed her photos of the outer container. Seeing something was missing, she advised us how to get to the log book. Soo for a second time mninniek got her feet wet, but we got the find as well ! Stamped/signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next one.

Thanks SciFiRulz !! Fav Point !

Found with the nearby camper… his curiosity was unreal and told us that a lot of people were visiting the letterbox.
So we thought it better to show him before he wanted to experiment for himself.
He is a friendly people person, who now understands a bit about geocaching.
He has been camped in this spot for 4 months and sounds like he is going to at least sit out the pandemic ( he has a heart condition) and even started to grow his own tomato’s.
Now he knows what it is he will protect it!!!
TFTC, at a lovely location.

19-Jan-22
Taking some time after the Wangaratta Mega to travel around and grab some caches with The_Tritonz.
We needed to be careful here as there were a number of muggles a lot closer than we would have liked. Definitely helped having the 2 big geovehicles.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.

19-Jan-22
We were lucky to pick up the mail on the Murray despite the near by camper. Geoturtle37 worked out the combo and we quickly had access to the logbook.
Thanks SciFiRulz for the letterbox hybrid placement.

Arrived at gz... muggle guy say hi and leave me alone doing my business.
Made it to retrieve and sign the log it before lock it way.
Great spot for camping.

One of many caches found during the week of the 2021 Wangaratta Mega. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to our recreational activity!

Had to be fairly stealthy with campers nearby. Fell for the obvious red herring before having better success with something else. TFTC

We stayed here in December and my elves stowed away in our car and helped me find their first geocache. Love this spot

Hi there SciFiRulz, we found your cache Murray has mail today.

We found this one whilst on a road trip with Baby and Mrs Gopher. The local camper thought we were here to collect your mail.

Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log are in good shape.

TFTC. A nice quick find and retrieve after I read the instructions properly. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley and staying in this campsite over night. What a lovely spot. What a storm we just had. Luckily I found this cache before it hit.

10483. Located by baby&Mrs gopher in company with Ian&Penny at 1155 on a day out in the district. Managed to work the information as we were travelling between Jingellic and the gate. Greeted by a muggle camper that wanted to know about the mailbox. A FP from us SL Tnx SciFiRulz

12-Oct-21
We took the motorhome away for a few days and made a few great finds along the way. The water is still up in the weir so made for a lovely drive. This would have made a great place to camp. Maybe another time

A quick find today and loved the idea, so given a fav.

Thanks SciFiRulz for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

26-Sep-21
We were on our way back from tending to a family members grave and the decision was made to detour this way as the last time we gave this one a go, a camping muggle was all set up right in front of GZ.
Today however was much quieter with only a single tenting muggle up the other end, which meant we could gain entry to the cache without attracting attention.
Fortunately the Queen was standing next to dad to come up with the correct entry code instead of what dad was trying to do, and we were able to sign our lives away in the log book.
Pretty cool cache this one and amazing how it stays put while it's just sitting up there like Jackie.....

Day 4 of our NSW road trip and with 2 nights in Tumba we decided to head down to Corryong for the day. Plenty of outstanding scenery and many interesting caches to discover - thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining them.
It pays to read instructions - loved the container! FP given.

This one took longer than it should have. Had not read the description for this cache. Finally came to the Letterbox and very cryptic in finding the code. Giving a FP for the whole set up of this cache. TFTC SciFiRulz

There's a little country town that I like Cool and it's called Corryong Cool[^]Smile
OK so it may have something to do with an A. B. Patterson poem too and also books about a Silver Brumby [^]CoolSmile
So when an unexpected opportunity of time off work for medical reasons [|)][xx(] and a possible FTF Surprised at Corryong occur simultaneously.... it's road trip time!! Big GrinCool[^]Smile

Four days, over 1,500km and the chance to turn a previous Sad DNF in Orbost into a smiley Smile while also finding the last lonely unfound cache in a series in Crinigan Reserve near Morwell [^] and overall 34 cache finds Smile including the long forgotten map 23 area [^] which I'd missed SurprisedSad on my last trip to the NE corner of Victoria Red Face

We camped Cool and drove, walked and wandered Smile in rain then sunshine and saw snow on the mountains in NSW in summer Surprised[?]Surprised We saw gum trees as high as the sky RazzCool, searched in rainforests and passed through amazing countryside Cool

A huge trip and an all night drive to get home so that I could attend the movie 'Happy Sad Man' in Shepparton on the 5th December. A good movie about men's mental health and worth seeing if you get the chance [^]Cool[^]

I'd seen this cache prior to publishing and it had tricked me then! Red Face
No surprises that it once again tricked me out in the fieldRed FaceRed FaceRazz
Starting at the river where Rex enjoyed a splash and drink CoolBig Grin, we then followed the letterbox directions to reach GZ [^]

First day of the NSW school holidays so the family (and the geohound) headed off to Sydney for a week with family (while I have to work). However, this gives me two weekends to geocache and so I intend to make the most of it. So loaded up the CD player in the blue road grader, and for today I headed east - time to finally revisit the Border Loop series (some maintenance done, 6 new caches placed, and a few more spots identified). Then headed further east to pick up a few more caches - including one FTF - and a couple I have been wanting to pick up for a while. Also happy to be AFL Grand Final day - the Tigers smashed the Giants (they did their job last week knocking out the Magpies) so that was some of my soundtrack today as well.

Didn't do this either of the recommended ways - just drove the track and spotted the nicely constructed cache from the road. Wandered over, and despite the nearby campers had plenty of time to work out how to open. Took a bit of thinking - very nice. Signed the log, left a TB, favourite point awarded and headed on my. Couldn't see the snow from the camping area, but still a lot up on the Main Range as driving down.

September 2018 we dropped off a TB here, and today we picked it up again! Apparently it was picked up by another cacher who couldn’t find a big enough cache to leave it in so returned it to this one. So the Hopping Hippy is back with us to share some more adventures.

Oh what a beaut cache! Great location too!
After trying the obvious (and saying ‘it can’t possibly be this easy ’) we soon realised what the code was. Brilliant!
Thanks heaps for this cache and adding to the fun we’re having while exploring the area.

This was the second day of our Albury/Wodonga area getaway from Melbourne for the school holidays.

Today the plan was to drive from our accommodation in Albury to Corryong from the NSW side and then return to our new accommodation in Wodonga via the Victorian side of the border - picking up a few caches along the way

It was a lovely sunny day for a drive.

The scenery on the drive to Corryong was quite spectacular , especially the snow capped views of the Australian Alps - which we had never seen before and totally weren't expecting. It just didn't look real at all!

plowfive love letterbox caches and had our plowfive stamp on hand for the job.. the only problem was how to get into the box. We tried a few things, until our Little Miss helped us with the necessary information!

Wow! What a great cache and what a great location!

This one certainly will get a fave from us, but it may take a while ... we are currently in deficit and owe one to another CO before you. Will add you the cache to our owed favourite list so that we don't forget. (update 5/10/18 - we have paid up that fave now Smile )

Dropped a few plowfive pathtags as our sign of appreciation for the great cache.

On the way here we stopped at one of the scenic views rest stops and got a fantastic view of the snow capped mountains

So far there have not been many visitors checking the mail here on the Murray, so thought we would do so on this first day of spring. Successfully did our projection and arrived at GZ. Took us a little while to access the logbook and stamp, but managed it finally. Stamped the log book at 2.09pm TN Left: Hopping Hippy TB beside the water for a while. #5591 Thanks for the letterbox cache SciFiRulz - always great to collect another one for our stats.

Visiting Corryong again to see Mum, we were delighted to find a new cache in town! We took Mum out for a drive, up to the top of Mt Elliott for a picnic lunch, then down and around this way for a cache. And what a fantastic hide, or not so much in hiding perhaps but in full view! As there were campers around we just fronted up and unlocked as if we were collecting our mail! Thanks for a beautifully constructed cache and a clever idea - definitely a favorite point from us.
