On our way home back to Merbein near Mildura. Been on Hubby Bucket list to fossick at Lightning Ridge now he has done it.. Nice hide TFTC
I really enjoyed my trip out to Lightning Ridge with wayn0. I had been here as a child but could only remember pleading with my parents for a handful of uncut rough clay covered opal rocks. When living in Dubbo I tried to convince the ex to come visit here but he didn't see the point. So it was great to finally get here. I loved the place. So much to see. The quirkiness and eclecticness of the housing here was the best.
Visiting Lightning Ridge with NTM and we checked out this cache. Thanks for placing Cheers
Quick finds thanks. Reminder to wear better shoes than sandals if you dont want prickles in your feet. They are very aggressive!!
Heading up to Lightning Ridge for the day with the middle geokid. Awesome weather for exploring. Left Carinda around 10 am and didn't get back until 7 pm. Great day spent in a really unique area, explored mines, camps, artesian springs, and did a heap of caches along the way. We drove straight past the welcome sign and over to GZ to make a quick find.TFTC!
Pretty spot, travelled here again over the weekend after working in Brewarrina.. thanks for the cache
No troubles here. A couple of the kids ran off and found the cache while the rest of us discussed plans for the remainder of the trip. We grabbed a trackable or two to move on.Thanks for the cache!
GCLOGAN TripFound with GrimRaider on our drive around expllring the town. Dropped a few tbs. I am travelling with GrimRaider to GCLogan and then to western NSW on our first trip with the van. Thanks for hiding this cache hinosaur
Visiting town while doing a tour of Artesian Bore pools/baths on NSW, and of course caching along the way.A very quick find, Mr SHifter nearly made it a drive by.Thanks for the hide hinosaur.
Day 5 of our day trip from Maryborough Vic to Maryborough QLD/Hervey Bay. We got to Lightning Ridge just in time to set up the van before dark last night so today has been dedicated to exploring this quirky town before we continue to Toowoomba tomorrow. We enjoyed a great tour of The Chambers of the Black hand, a delicious pizza at the take away place and yummy ice cream across the road. We managed to check out all of the main attractions, nab lots of caches and then had a huge, tasty meal at the bowling club. One TB was present here which I left. TFTC
Found it on our last day in Lightening Ridge. Also dropped off a trackable we've had for a little while. Thanks!
NSW South Coast to Cape York trip. Quick find, shame about the toilet paper on the ground in the area. Thanks for the cache.

TFTC! I was still trying to get through the muddy puddles and jellybeeean23 yells out I found it. Quick easy find.
We have finally arrived in Lightning Ridge after leaving Melbourne a week ago on our way to Cape York. Exploring the Lightning Ridge area today, including driving the car door tours and picking up a few caches along the way. After taking the obligatory photos at the welcome sign we wandered over to locate the cache. It was very very wet and muddy under foot so navigating a track to GZ was a little challenging. It was Mrs Pooky who made a quick easy find but there was no trackables in the cache today.TF placing the cache for us to find on our travels.
Thanks for this good sized cache. Maybe us but didn't seem to be any trackables today. TN LN SL.TFTC.
I tidied the cache up, removing junk, such as plastic bags, bits of disintegrating cardboard, etc. I left the TB 'Sonya's Oz GeoMuster 2018 Geotag'. TFTC hinosaur. Now I see there are missing TBs here. There were no TBs in the cache when I arrived. I hope the one I left will be okay.
Tftc stopped for a soak in the baths after camping on the river in Brewarrina for a week.
Our last in NSW for this trip heading back home to Qld after 2 months exploring out West NSW TFTC

(# 10186) Our third day of the road trip from Townsville to Canberra started early this morning with breakfast in Lightning Ridge where we stayed at the a Motel, and ended after sunset in Canberra. But the first stop was at this location, to get a new entry in my bookmark list "Vlkommen till ..." (that's Swedish for "Welcome to ..."). We passed here akreadt yesterday, but then there were two cars parked near the "maonument", so we skipped searching the cache then, but this morning the place was empty. I was anticipating to do some searching in the monument, but GZ turned out to be some meters to the west of the monument. No problems finding the cache, but unfortunately, there were no TB:s in the cache. Well, well... Let's hit the road.// e-scape
