Checked last night and it looks like some council jobsworth has an issue with this cache and keeps sabotaging it which is a shame as it doesn't do any harm where it is.

Have replaced it a few times now but it seems to keep getting ruined shortly afterwards so sadly we need to archive it.

A group of us biking the Remutaka Incline, unfortunately in wet and cold conditions. Didn't attempt many caches but this was one of them. Took a minute or two to figure out this clever hide with its cryptic (but accurate) hints. Thanks jodanz!

27-Jan-21
Nearly two years had passed since I last tried to find this cache. Unlike last time, the cache container was in place. There were signs that a non-cacher had been here since the last find so I hope no further compromising of the find occurs.

22-Jan-21
Found during a bike ride with my grandson on a great day with little wind It's much more fun when the norwester is not blowing a gale up here An easy find this time - I had worked it out at home after the DNF on my first try
Thanks Jodanz

14-Jan-21
All going again.

14-Jan-21
Cache replaced on a night ride on a nice summer's night. Hopefully will last longer than last time.

11-Jan-21
Parts have finally arrived and hope to be able to get it going within a month or so when I next visit the area.

29-Oct-20
Part due to arrive in the next couple of weeks so hope to have running prior to Xmas.

12-Sep-20
Will try to get to this one shortly once I have sourced the required tools to fix it up.

25-May-20
Checked on a night time ride and it looks like the cache has been discovered and the object it is attached to has been "fixed" which means it no longer works. This is the 2nd time this has happened and I really can't understand how it could be discovered accidentally. Will have to think about how to get it active again.

22-Mar-20
Rode past today an noticed the cache was compromised as either a muggle or a cacher has not realised no "bendy" force is required to access the cache. Surprisingly the bison tube is still there but the whole thing is a bit loose now so will tighten things up when next riding up here.

03-Mar-20
Very clever! GZ was obvious, the cache definitely wasn't. Thanks again Jodanz!

25-Feb-20
Quick find on a perfect day riding the incline.

22-Feb-20
As i have a cache just like this it wasnt too hard
we are out trying our mt bikes out and what better place than the Remutaka rail trail.
This area is so full of rail way history an the things people did many years ago just to help the wheels of the industry to keep going around
many thanks

Approaching this one heading downhill after finding Truncated a minute earlier, I pondered leaning the bike against a convenient post, but in the end propped it up on its kick stand instead. Didn't take very long (seconds?) for the cache name to become clear and having found something very similar on at least one occasion before it didn't need the hints to obtain the cache and the log within. Unlike some previous finders I was NOT hindered by muggles whilst looking for the cache. While this trail has become MUCH more popular, especially with cyclists, over the 3 decades that we've lived nearby, I 'only' saw ten cyclists on my entire journey today. I suspect that the fact it was a Tuesday morning helped. Before the Remutaka Cycle Trail was made an official cycle route it would be very rare to see anyone on this track outside a weekend during the summer and 10 people would take me at least as many trips to see that many. Anyway, it was a clever hide, but I've already awarded my FP today for Truncated, which I think scores higher than this one in my 'think outside the square' scale for cache hides, although once again this certainly wasn't boring Smile. Thanks Jodanz for another nice hide along this trail. I still have a couple more of yours to look for along here: another day I think: can't have too much enjoyment in one day Big Grin.

Pretty much worked out where this would be when we were some distance away - and we were spot on! A cool cache - thanks! Found with kimmy+co

Nice day out with mumandme. Tftc, nice walk, wasn't much wind.

Nice one. Thanks for placing the cache

Enjoyable fast find of this crafty cache. Thanks Jodanz!

It's a bit breezy up here this afternoon! A much appreciated quick find, TFTC.

Found on a cycle ride up to the Summit for lunch on a mild but windy day. Really ppreciate the Tree and Plant series of caches. TFTC

Following a couple of DNFs and a report from one cacher suggesting it needed a check, today was that day. It looks like the cache object has been "fixed" but why on earth this was needed is rather odd (our confusion will be obvious once you find the cache). All reinstated to original condition, but a reminder that the cache must be replaced EXACTLY AS FOUND to avoid it being "fixed" again.

22-Feb-19
There are corporate relay bikers everywhere raising funds for Free Ambulance and other charities I'm not smart enough to figure this one out without a very good steer from an accurate instrument so will just have to flag it today and hope next time I find more inspiration and fewer cyclists about Thanks Jodanz

16-Feb-19
I didn't give any thought to the cache name on the way from my previous cache stop but it soon became clear. I reckoned had it all figured out but what I thought would work did not work. I moved on to the next cache to give me time to have a think about things but I had no better ideas by the time I returned. I could have it all wrong but I have messaged the cache owner to let him know what I tried.

16-Dec-18
Nice sneaky hide here. With no other place to hide in a reasonable distance it was either there or nowhere! TFTC.

08-Dec-18
Managed to stop here in a gap in the tourists; this was perhaps the only cache on the main trail today where I wasn't muggled! Luckily it was also a nice quick find. TFTC Jodanz

With things at WENZ Headquarters than it was yesterday I was given a leave pass for a few hours. So I headed up to the Rail Trail to give my new Stumpy ST 29r it’s first off road trial. Rode up to Summit Yards with one stop to chat to rattll and watcache who I bumped into along the way. No problem here my GPS zeroed in on the right spot for an easy find. Cheeky hide. Pleasing to see some others enjoying this excellent trail, the excellent caching, and today's excellent weather. Oh and the mtb, passed with flying colours.

Well its Mega time again and its held in Wellington so there has been lots of planning envolved with puzzles been solved and trails to do this trail along the habour betrween Wellington and Petone was planned to be done after the festivities of the Mega but there was to be a slight hick up at the start of Friday morning before we set off for Wellington and that was a truck accident with a chemical spill blocking the road restricting movement along state highway one in the road not likely to be open until 8pm that night. so after watching the NZTA website up until 3pm a plan was hatched to divert to Wellington over the Piatua track and down the Wairapa to our desination right at ground zero so there we stayed for three nights, after entering into the Waves to Waitrapa and trying to get 10 lab caches and 11 differnt cache types in a day on the saturday.
The next morning turned out to be another beauty so after breakfast we loaded the bikes onto the car and off to the start soon we were heading to the start of the trail where we un[oaded the bikes and adjusted one of them to suit mr rattl, then we were off and it was not long before we reached this one but unknown to us we were muggled by boxhill we thought he looked familar and it was not until we reached the next cache that all was revealed.
This cache falls into my style of caches so it was a verg quick find for us here.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

A nice little hide. These are the sort of caches and trails we really enjoy doing. There's the odd muggle about to beware of but mostly we're able to search unhindered. Much more fun than an urban cache!
Thanks for setting this up jodanz

Called here on a bike ride up the trail this morning to do some maintenance on one of my own caches. As I approached I realised what the cache name meant. This one was an instant find in the first place checked - it brought back memories of another of the CO's caches along here. Signed log, TFTC.

Today I thought that seeing it was going to be a nice day I would head out to the Rimutaka Rail Trail and try my luck with my new e-Bike.

Very ingenious. Gave it a fave.

Cheers for the cache.

#10,348. Returned to what Google Maps called “Cross Creek Road” in Rimutaka Hill, Upper Hutt. GZ was all quiet during the visit. Quick find. Well hidden. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

Great morning for a bike ride with GLAD-NZ. Found cache quickly enough, open container and saw the blank logsheet.

{FTF} joint with GLAD-NZ

Hints were very apt. Great plays here.
