A week of caching and golf with bogonghazy and Littleboss 2 in and around Mildura and of course any smileys we can pick up on the way. Thanks for the cache Mebclever

25-Aug-24
Up to Mildura for a week with Littleboss2, Sorceysal and Geo the puppy. We'd solved a few puzzles between us, (Ss about 97% of them) and this was the week to grab as many as we could, as well as the multiple labs, multis and trads, and really enjoy this stunning area. After a wild night, we really felt the heat and humidity that happens post rain, but it's all a part of what Australia's diverse zones bring on board. Plenty of sharp bindis added to the fun. Is that what gaiters are for? Our thanks for placing this one, a little high for the terrain rating, for me anyway

Southern Autumn adventure Day 55. Mildura Paddle Steamer Trip Day 4. The final day with my Canberra friends in Mildura rolled around. Today the team was five of us, Nibletricecakes, Gliss!, Kitty Katch, Joolay and Albida33. We set ourselves to visit caches spread out around town and some short riverside walks. There was quite a bit of rain, so some of the riverside drives were not an option. It turned into another long day, but some of the multi's we managed to complete were very satisfying. There was also some time for some LAB caches as well.

This short walk along the river was a bit of a concern with some caches not found since before the flood. In the end we found them, but we did replace a few wet logs.

Thanks for the cache Mebclever

The last day in Mildura with BettyBoo3747.
We uncovered the deadly treadlies and road along the river picking up the occasional cache.
Some beautiful views along the bike track, and some good caches too.
The geo-doggies enjoyed their runs and traveling along in the bike trailer too.

Not a lot left of this tree now!
Luckily BB is relatively tall, as I was not looking there.
The first this morning on our ride.
Thanks, Robmc.

#18741. Our last day in Mildura on a glorious autumn day. Touring on our bicycles with the doggies in their trailer and enjoying a great ride along the trails near the river between Merbein and Apex Park in Mildura. So beautiful to be enjoying the river scenery and gathering some caches on the way.

We knew this little series was here and today was the day to stop and gather some smilies. We seemed to make hard work of a few. This one wasn't too difficult and our names are in the book and we continued on our way.

Thanks Mebclever

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Spending a few days in Mildura, joined by the rest of the Goldy clan for a family getaway.

We've been coming here since our first visit in 2008, it's a Goldy family favourite so I'm excited for the opportunity to find a few geocaches here and in some of the surrounding towns.

I'm also looking forward to experiencing some different hides in another state, as all my finds so far have been in South Australia.

I won't be able to get to all the caches due to having other plans with family, family always comes first.

So a high majority of caches on the "to be found" list are ones where I can learn local history and ones that are relatively quick and easy.

I've been primarily eyeing off the turtle series geoart and adventure labs.

This one took me way long to find then it should have... right in front of me the whole time.

Cache and log book in good condition.

Put my signature in the log book and returned the cache to its hiding spot.

Thanks to Mebclever for this cache and series.

In Mildura for a few days with Snap Happy, omegaman1971, Happy Feet, Happy Pants and The Empire.
After finishing off the GOT series it was time for Me to do the turtle series, it was a little challenging getting to some locations but I managed to get them all done.

The highlight for the day were the fantastic gadget caches in the area.

Thanks Mebclever for the cache.

This was a great opportunity to get away with some caching friends in Mildura. The plan was to hit some of the local trails and geo art. There was many other hides discovered, with some really great containers and hides in the area.

Lucky I had someone with me, as I wouldn't have reached this one.

Thanks Mebclever for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Lockdown 3.0. Geocache, sanitise, repeat. Stay within 5kms and no more than 2hrs out and about. This little series suited our needs/covid rules for today. This required a team effort...one to find and the other to reach. TFTC. Sanitised and moved on.

Decided to get out and go for a walk this morning and take in some great views along the river, throw in some caches and Bingo you have a great combination. Last one for the morning before heading back for breakfast and this one was one of the easier ones in my travels this morning, made the reach and happily added my name to the log book. 5 for 5 today! Thanks again Mebclever for the hide and the short series.

Hi there Mebclever.

We found your cache **"Ranfurly Bend Walking Track : Big Old Tree"** at 11:59:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 24658).

We're staying in Mildura to hunker down over the current Victorian lockdown. On our daily exercise stroll today we decided to attempt some caches around the local area. We found 19 caches & DNF'd 4.

We have made contact with the CO, who has agreed to meet up with us. We eventually found the cache, in a spot we had already looked. How embarassing. Surprised[:(!]Twisted

Thank you Mebclever for adding to our adventure.

Regards

Mildura, Day 3

This morning it was out to complete the turtle trail.
We continued out towards the bend in the river, we seemed to get confused with all the various tracks out here.
Today we found such a variety of caches, puzzles, multi & some clever gadget caches which we really enjoyed.

Hubby road by on his bike yesterday & couldn't find it . I had read a few logs so knew where it could be.

Thanks for placing this cache Mebclever

Bring on 2020! GeoCaching - Great way to start 2020! Despite the dry summer vista I love the river, weathered stumps and trees. Mission today is to pick up an assortment and help the turtle take shape except I’m doing it in a most inefficient way as I’ve only the phone so it has meant not much pre planning with a bit of zig zagging on the bike before it gets really hot again. Either way, learning some puzzle solving skills and exploring Mildura is a plus. Here with a buddy who was brought up here so visiting the locations is accompanied by stories and memories. PLENTY of distractions too from the novel I brought with me TFTC

Mildura is a mecca for geocachers - an extensive list of varied and clever caches on offer, it is hard to know where to start!
In the good company of Suscoe we headed SE and found a variety of clever caches in interesting locations, such as this riverside walk.

Thanks 'Mebclever' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Suscoe was out and about again today wandering the raods, parks and bushland areas to the west, south and south east of MIldura.
We were travelling with Phetlern again and having a good bit of fun as we went along finding a very good range of caches.
It was a fairly cloudy day with a strong wind from the south and the clouds looked like they had a good bit of dust in them at times.
It was good to be caching on a coolish day, the flies seem to have been blown away and the sun peeped through every now and again.

Thanks to Mebclever for this hide and this delightful little walking trail.
A terrific range of views along the river which was quite unsettled today.
It would be such a different view with no wind and a sunset across the water.
A favourite from us for the trail.

01-Dec-19
Found just before another dust storm blew in! Nice hide. Tftc

21-Nov-19
Despite reasonably accurate coordinates it took a little while to locate this well hidden cache. We were misled by the cache name. The cache when the taller member of the team went to look for the cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Mebclever for the cache.

This one had us scratching our heads for a bit. Lots of big ole dead trees around. A few logs mention it quite away from the gz, but we were in luck today. The big geo kid with long arms found it. Just in time to be back in the car before the dust came through. Thanks. All in good condition
