BlacknWhite suggested we do this power trail. We were going to try on push bikes, but my daughter and her partner laughed and said to take the E bike to lessen the chance of a heart attack. Heathcote Rd is far to dangerous for bike riders so I had to put up with the leg cramps from just walking to caches after driving along the trail. 19th findHad a great day.TFTC jaybeam!
OCW [Platyfly,](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=80a2adae-e405-45f3-8f78-92cf1a588444) and our nineteenth find for the dayMany thanks for hiding the cache and the adventure jaybeem!
Reperio 10:23I was headed to Sydney this evening for a 2 day course, and so it gave me a great opportunity to find a few caches along the way. I took in the little detour to do this series, and for the most part of it, all the caches were found, although most had wither wet logs, or needed maintenance in some way. With the series being situated along a busy road with not a lot of room to park in most places, the process was a lot slower than expected. All in all though, a good day was had.Gratias jaybeem! As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
An early morning raid to get a daily cache. A busy time along Heathcote Road. Looked around and discovered it was a Jaybeem! cache and remembered another one nearby.
A bit of a wandering around located the cache. It is all covered by healthy plant life which is good and lovely banksia plants in bloom to enjoy.
The cache is in good order and about 25% left to write on. Thanks jaybeem!

Out and about again, left Queanbeyan very early this morning and headed to Sydney via Bateman Bay and along the coast. Not after big numbers of hides but after getting LGA numbers.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Quick find for us here.
Thanks for the hide, jaybeem!

Out hitting the backside of the power cache with Irol22. This was a sneaky little one. Great hide. TFTC
Out for a GC exploration with Kate_h and walk there to complete this trail. Disappinting DNF today.
Found on a perfect Winter day for a drive down to the Gong and surrounds.
Met up with fitzy65 and minniek for a fun day out and a big caching adventure.
A few good safe hides and not many muggles around.
Cache condition is OK/good.
Thanks for the cache jaybeem!,

20,893. Found during a caching loop from Moss Vale, Wollongong and up to the Sutherland Shire with minniek and our caching Mate from Wagga - Roostaman !!
I mentioned to Roostaman - who was in Moss Vale for a few days caching - that we were heading down Wollongong way for a few specific caches, and we decided to team up again for what turned out to be a pretty epic day. Heading up the highway now and we started the SSFTFH Power Trail. The traffic was picking up now and parking was 'fun' ! Bush-bashed to GZ for the quick find. Glad we had brought our torches !

Back in Sydney for some more meetings and time for a few more caches in this series, today I came better prepared for the charcoal. Soon spied this one hanging around.
Thanks

# 5823 Grabbed while overnight in Campbelltown after a Xmas party. After a few DNFs in and around Campbelltown, I decided to try my luck on this trail. It was getting quite warm and I knew I would not have time to complete it. I enjoyed the variety of caches and the bushland, but sadly this road is one long tip.
Thanks jaybeem!
Thanks jaybeem!
Well after a day at a conference today was my free day to grab a few caches around the Sydney area. My first target was the Sunderland ftf trail and after that the plan was to go through the suburbs grabbing a few caches on the way back to the hotel. Ended up with 73 for the day plus a few dnfs, which is hard work on your own.
Tftc and making my day so enjoyable.
The caches on the Sunderland ftf trail were brilliant. So much work into making some of them.

Out this afternoon with SmudgeyCat finding the rest of the caches in the Sutherland Shire FTF Hounds Power Trail that I hadn't already previously found. Was searching for these as part of the clue hunt to solve the Mystery at the Museum puzzle.
Most of the caches were easy to find, though the 'hanging' ones were generally a lot more difficult. Due to the recent bushfires, there is some dead-wood undergrowth and black soot still on the stems and trunks. So a word of warning - don't wear good clothes, as they will get covered in black soot, and possibly scratched. Also drive, park, and walk with care along the road, as in some places there are big trucks rambling past just a few feet away. You'll probably need a good five hours to do the entire series, and four eyes are definitely better than two for some of the finds.
For this cache - read the hint, but only found after a very long search and further away. Found with SmudgeyCat M. TFTC

On the way back from Sutherland today. Picking us a few caches which have gone down since I was down this way last. 23rd for the day. TFTC
Found in good time. Cache & log are in top condition. Thanks for your contribution in this powertrail. TFTC
We had all of 5 minutes to look here as Geoson10 was attending a workshop at ANTSO and needed to be picked up. With time up & no cih we figured we’d have to come back but as we turned to return to the car it nearly smacked us in the face . We’d walked straight past it concentrating our efforts elsewhere. Guess it wanted to be found! This find also gave us the final clue to mystery at the museum. TFTC xo

Until today we’d only done half of this trail.....doing the rest in reverse order.

On my way to north Sydney straight after work today to set up a good weekend of caching. Making most of daylight I started caching early to do most of the driving later when dark. Quickly found.

Spent ages looking for this one - eventually you just have to decide to move on so this one lives for another day.
Travelling back to Brisbane after attending the OZGM and decided to grab a few of the SSFTFHPT. Very enjoyable series! Spent about 30 min looking for this one with another cacher but had to call it quits.
I decided to take myself on a little drive along this road studded with caches - I could not belive how busy it was, I had to be very careful pulling off the road and back into traffic. Great set of hides, TFTC!!
Found at 10:58:51 AM: GAFF5 in the company of Alansee.
Starting to rain a bit heavier and we are starting to think that we should pull the plug on this series for now. It was a bit wet and messy retrieving this cache.
Thanks jaybeem!

Did these in the company of pprass. The day started off iffy and steadily went downhill weather wise. We managed 16 of the series before giving it away. The cars and trucks didn'nt help either.
#6120 (4 of 4 today)
I need a find today for my Calendar Finds goal. Just the one, of course. But in the spirit of overdoing it, I decided to try for a few more than that.
My problem was today was shopping day, so I couldn’t get anywhere much before 4pm. So where to go?
Decided on the SSFTFH Powertrail, despite the long drive to get there. That way I can stop when it starts getting dark. Now the only problem is where to park!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Yep, definitely one hairy section walking from *#26*
Got to GZ and looked and looked and looked. No sign. Took a while until I moved a little further away and then spotted it from a short distance.
Completed signing duties and replaced.
Got back to the road, and some of the cars are turning on their headlights. While I’d probably make one more find before sunset I don’t fancy a walk alongside this road in the gloom. So decided to call it at four finds.
And as I was logging this I find myself watching a Geocaching episode of the cartoon “Pat The Dog”. Looks like they were doing an awesome multi/puzzle/gadget cache.

Tackled the 'Sutherland Shire FTF Hounds' powertrail today.
Pros:
Variety (users and containers)
Coordinates (pretty accurate)
Great to see the regeneration here after the fires!
Cons:
Dangerous road (100km/h, high traffic area, limited shoulder space)
Pollution (rubbish and car parts)
We were stopped by the Australian Federal Police, but after explaining what Geocaching is, they let us go on to continue the rest of the trail.
Thanks!

Browsed this power-trail and impressively, it has tripled in size since my last visit about a year ago! So brought my cross-bike down to whittle a few more away.
Due to muggle activities (#15) and placements on different sides of Heathcote road, I eventually visited in the order: 13, 14, 16, 22 to 31, then 21 back down to 17 and 15.
Thanks to all the CO's who have contributed to this collaborative power-trail.
Clearly, the geocaching community is alive and active in the Sutherland Shire.
- - -
Reading previous logs, I was expecting a protracted search. But happily, the sun was at just the right angle to cast a familiar silhouette.

I struggle on these ones on the best of times. Partial colour blind, low light, and new foliage. Almost gave up before I started
Thanks

The new growth on the trees makes the hanging caches very difficult to spot but just keep walking around and it will appear. Thanks.
#2459 my last one of this series for a while didn't take long till I spotted it. I was facing the other way when I turned around to move on & it was right infront of me
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache jaybeem!

Managed to collect a little streak here this morning on the way to work. Never been a fan of parking in this series but this morning it wasn’t too bad. TFTC!
Found with WaywardWoman on a caching day out. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
#4789-Out caching with thomo31 finishing the Heathcote trail. Another quick one thanks.
With 30 in the FTF series, it was time to give this trail a crack. I had Team MavEtJu with me to lend another pair of eyes and hands and we made it from 30 to 1 in 3hr 15min. There were a few uncomfortably-close-to-speeding-traffic moments which does detract from the journey but it’s not really a park and grab scenario either.
This had the potential to keep us busy for a while, but the two sets of eyes made for a quick find.
Thanks jaybeem! for being a FTF hound and participating in the series.

Out finding some local caches, disappointing the amount of rubbish on the road side, quick find, signed log and replaced. Thanks to LMcasanova.
TFTC,
Aiming towards achieving an average 4 cache finds per day for the year.
Out today to build my numbers and clear a few new caches from the area around mt base.
Visited trackables sharing the experience with me.

CRIKEY if it was a snake it would have bit me !! I was right beside it and didn't notice until I returned to that spot again - Duh!! Didn't take too long to find. SL and returned cache to its hide'y hole. I managed to miss a few caches so had to return to get them which messed up my sequence. I noticed how pongy it is along this road today, I thought there must be a tip nearby.
**The Day**
Woke up this morning bright and early and wondered what to do today - ah yes, I'll go geocaching, and why not visit *Seemyshells* hotel and drop off some trackables and run the **Sutherland Shire FTF Hound(s) Track**, so I bounced out of bed and looked at the sky, very foggy and overcast looking, but I heard the sun was going to shine, and shine it did.
Gorgeous day and quite warm while on the trail. Had four left to find, and desperately wanted to knock them off, but I know there will be more caches coming out and after missing this find I figured the remainder didn't matter - next time will do. Had to cut the day short anyway and urgently get home. OCW *DustyJapserJet*. Had a fantastic day !!! but when don't I when I'm out caching.
27 = 22 1 4 [8)] not attempted.

Ha! Was looking around at where I thought it would be, getting cranky at my Integrity and then oh, there it is - about 10cm from my eyes! Found it. This road sure is crazy to do a power trail on what with the 100km/h speed limit and all the traffic so was very grateful to have somewhere to safely pull off and back on. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
I took a photo of the burnt bush, thinking that looks nice. Then spend a few minutes looking for the cache, only to discover I'd inadvertently photographed it when I first arrived.
This one definitely took a lot longer. After a while, I was wondering where I was going to look next. Tilted my head and there it was right in front of me. Quite tricky. TFTC jaybeem
After successfully completing some Woronora River caches in the canoe we came this way to pick up the as yet unfound caches in this series. We worked so that the caches were always on the left hand side of the road, so partway through the list we did a U turn to find the rest.
There was no difficulty in finding the containers, especially as fire had cleared the vegetation around most of them.
It was good to see the regeneration of the trees and other greenery starting to happen.
Thanks go to jaybeem! for this cache placement.

On the way to Ulladulla for the weekend provided an opportunity to grab the last four of the FTF Hounds trail. All caches were quickly found, however, I wish I hadn't worn light coloured jeans. TFTC.
Having been away for 5 weeks it was time to catch up on this power trail.
Nice to see the trees growing back (only if it is just to hide the amount of rubbish dumped here).

With all the new growth and the hint I imagined this could be a long search. The GPS wasn't kind either but luckily I spied the camo in under 5 minutes. Another FTF HOUND to tick off. TFTC
A little detour to pick these up on my travel on a beautiful winters day. Had to be mindful to where I was walking, didn't want to be covered in the back burned Sud off the trees. TFTC
On my way for a walk in the RNP, i couldn't resist detouring to find the next bunch of this series.

This one was published while I was still at work, keeping an eye on it all the way on the train was killing me.... jumped in my car and headed for GZ.
At GZ I noticed that the trees are starting to regenerate after the wild bush fire. It was very interesting to see the new growths.
Found the cache, and empty log.... woohoo....
