Great little challenge, TFTC

27-Apr-24
Out bushwalking and reminiscing of scouting days 50 years past w partner in crime, mhj_co. Wouldnt you know it theres a GC in the vacinity. French Brie on sourdough and a flask of tea in Camp Coutts then a fair bit of climbing and bushbashing but found GZ right where it should be. Wouldnt you know it- didnt bring a pen! Some local charcoal will have to do. TFTC!

Single find of this unloved cache before dinner with friends A nice 3km or so walk along the fire trail and back. At GZ the paucity of recent finds meant no sign of a geotrail, but headed to where I thought it was and wasnt disappointed.Cache in good condition.Signed, grabbed the stranded TB and replaced. Then enjoyed a nice bottle (or two) of red.SLLNTFTC

Out on a compass March with my Scouts, and we happened to come by this spot. What a coincidence!

Cheers

A nice walk in to this cache picked up a travel bug and dropped one of we have held onto for too long due to covid restrictions. Finally can go out geocaching again.

05-Jun-21
After dropping off at the scout camp this morning I walked to the campsite and then went straight through the bush up the hill to this one. A little hard going at times but no issues. Dropped a TB, picked another up. Another one off the list. Now back down the hill! TFTC!

Needed a quick walk so headed out on this trail. Once at the end it was a straight forward find but all the Easter eggs yesterday didn’t help. Lucky we had small geo kids . TFTC

31-May-20
TFTC,
I had to get out for a walk this afternoon and we decided that the 2.5Km return trip from the gate for this one would do.
All good at the cache site.

31-May-20
After lunch we decided to do a walk and find this cache, the path in was a bit wet in places. Quick find on arrival only I was the wrong side, Wazza9 retrieved the container, we stamped the log and replaced. Thanks to delloro

Easy monday morning find while in lockdown TFTC

31-Mar-20
Caching, provided we are on our own, seems to be the only reasonable activity currently available to us. This cache gave us a chance for a pleasant walk where we could feel safe from the Covid-19. TFTC

A box in the bush?! I'm in! Oh man. Now that I type that...

25-Nov-19
Container replaced. Not as elegant as the last but will hopefully last better. Forgot a pen so if the next finder could leave a spare I’d appreciate it.

30-Oct-19
Thanks for a nice walk in from the old Princes Highway. Container seems to be damaged from the recent hazard reductions. The log was also saturated so have taken a photo. TFTC

23-Sep-19
The last cache to find in this area for me today. And there was a lot of bush bashing to get to this one (from the scout camp), and back to my car (on the old highway). Luckily(or not) the recent fire damage thinned out a bit of the foliage, or at least the green bits , but there were still many blackened branches to push my way through that I ended up covered in black lines by the time I got out.
Found the cache, nicely in a position of a water flow down the crevice. The log was coated in a variety of coloured fungus, and the base of the container had broken away.
It must have been a nice looking container at one point, but it couldn't handle the Australian great outdoors.
Thanks for the cache.

23-Sep-19
The container is steadily rotting away and the log is mouldy and wet. A replacement is needed.

29-Mar-19
Spotted this one near me that I haven’t yet found, a nice easy stroll to gz where I spotted a spot that matches the clue and the cache was soon in hand, log was very wet so I attached photo of log, tftc

17-Nov-18
Was staying at Camp Coutts so did attempt to get to this one but wasn't that keen to bush bash the 200 odd meters to the GZ. Maybe another time.
Thanks delloro.

03-Nov-18
Well i made that a whole lot harder than it was intended to be.
Rather than come along Coutts Gully trail i decided to just bush bash it up the hill from Coutts Scout Camp from The camp road seeing as i was down there for the day anyway.
It wasnt too difficult at first but then i passed the area where scouts sometimes forage for campfire wood and the trails disappeared. I ended up pushing my way through about 200m of thick brush and trees going uphill.
I don’t recommend others take this route.
On reaching the GZ i soon had the CIH and found the thing soaking wet. I poured the water out of the logs plastic bag and dried it but was incapable of writing on the log as it was too wet.
I retrieved the trackable Saf-t-Man's "The Helping Hand" from the cache and will move it along.
Maybe it’ll help me find an easier way back down the hill.
Thanks.

I had planned this cache a few days ago looking at terrain etc and getting prepared with a TOTT just in case. It fills in a calendar for me as well.
I couldnt wish for a better day as I marched along. The GPSr lead me to the cache and on a aproach I realised the possibilities. I retrieved the cache, did the business and placed it back. I didnt need the TOTT after all. Smile. TFTC delloro.

I thought it was about time I got off my fat A and go for a walk for a cache.
A nice day for it so thanks delloro.

Wanna know the real reason why it's called lost treasure of the shire? Because you're going to be crawling through hobbit sized gaps in the shrubbery. Finally found after crawling through shrubbery like a crazed smeagol, finally getting the precioussss.

Heading home from a day in Sydney attending meetings I decided to have a crack at this cache. Parking as close as possible I took the direct route which certainly had the terrain rating where I thought it might be, I soon found myself at GZ and after a bit more effort I had the cache in hand and was happy to say I hadnt had too many pork pies.
Thanks

A caching daytrip to the area with TikvaNZ and ZQX, finding some nice D/T combinations.
We decided to have a crack at this one. It was only when we found the cache that we realised it was only 3 days old. Nice container. TFTC delloro

second week in a row that my wife sends me to IKEA. Today I was able to combine it with the Rhodes parkrun. While on my way home I thought I had enough time to do a little walk here. Didn't eat much cookies lately, but defenitely filled up with burgers! Still was able to do it all by myself.

On a southern Sydney caching mission from Canberra with Fox in Jox and ZQX. This was our last stop. cache soon found after bush bashing to GZ from the old road above. Took 2 x TBs. TFTC.

11-Aug-18
Found w TNZ and FIJ. More to follow.

We didn't mean to find a cache that was only three days old. We were just in the general vicinity, saw it, and decided to go for it. A bush bash led by TikvaNZ got us to GZ where Fox in Jox made the find. I discovered two trackables in the cache. I think TikvaNZ decided to move them on. Lots of trackables today, even though I did only 11 caches.

Thanks again, delloro. I found a few of yours today.

FTF! A nice walk in the bush this afternoon was very much needed! However, I didn't have time to go out with a couple of music composition deadlines due very soon. Anyway, geoson had spent the morning with me and I owed him a driving lesson, so why not go for a drive down to the Shire! The music can wait! It was a lovely walk, and an even better feeling to beat the local FTF hounds! No need to squeeze either, as the Orang-utan arms did the job instead! TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

OCW Brewmaker & EverestHigh

Decided to head south past Waterfall to grab a couple of freshly solved mysteries and this one.

A nice walk along the fire trail brought us to a very Delloro style GZ

I crawled in to grab the treasure

As about a dozen new caches popped up all over Sydney, the question was which one(s) to go for before all other FTF hounds jumped in. A plan was hatched with The Bebes and EverestHigh to get the two new ones on the edge of The Shire. And they were both near each other in the bush so a walk was welcome.

There were no other cars at the start of the trail so we were feeling confident. At GZ EH, clambered down a potential delloro hide, then TB decided to squeeze through the more compact place to reveal the well hidden treasure. Upon opening we soon saw that we were beaten by the elusive Hancock Clan. Rats! Then I helped to replace it so others can experience this one as we did. Oh well, maybe we will have a FTF chance with NW2 not so far away. Though we had to make the return hike back to the car first.

A nice little treasure chest MrD. An enjoyable afternoon with good company to find a good cache. Dropped off a TB. Giving it a FP. TFTC
