Logs
This one took some time to track down this elusive cache. Finally got it snagged and tagged. CheersDay 2 - teamed up with Taybee NZ for the day caching around Christchurch , with ICUC on my radar.Zara, Toby and I are heading to the Dunedin Mega with some extra days along the way. Caught up with TaybeeNZ on 22 Oct for a day caching around Christchurch. Then made my way down to Waimati for the night. Arrived in Dunedin Thursday afternoon. Beautiful day Friday to cache around Port Chalmers. Mega Day was cold, wet and miserable and Sunday not much better. Sophia arrived on Sunday for a few days. Teamed up with TaybeeNZ for next three days touring the Catlains Monday, Stewart Island Tuesday and Milford Wednesday, then started making my way home, arriving Friday Morning.
I'm ditching dad again and heading down south for the Mega in Dunedin. During this trip I managed to do many things and meet many people over the 2 weeks I was away. Thanks to all the cache owners and other cachers for making this trip enjoyable.Day 2 of the trip. After spending the night with mum we teamed up together for the day. First was UC IC as last time mum was there it was down. Then we spent a few hours around the botanical gardens doing adlabs and caches. After that we headed up to the cabbage trees and then a few other caches. A nice quick find. TFTCAll log sheets on this trip were signed by any of the following:Taybee NZ,TBNZ,TNZ,TB/D (When I was out with mother)
Needed to go through the logs to save a long leaf-fall search. Cache is in good shape.
Not sure it still there given the previous logs maybe it is will come back when less muggles and look harder TFTC
Found the cache laid out in the open. It wasn't damaged, but I had no idea where the hint was pointing to so I replaced it behind one of the trees near the gate. TFTC.
Our family moved to Christchurch a few months back, and since then we have had the privilege of hosting some of my Wellington Puzzlers group members for caching weekends. This weekend was TwigNZ's turn.TwigNZ made this into a quick easy fine, although he did have to widen the search area a little bit from where the coordinates were pointing us to. Thanks for the cache.
I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.This is Day 4, my last day before catching my flight back to Wellington this evening. I wasn't sure what my plans actually were for today, but whatever they may have been was soon forgotten with the publication of a new cache. ThatDarnBear, who has kindly been hosting me for my visit, and I sat down and tried to solve it. We did well, but not quite well enough for a quick solve. A few discussions with friends soon had it sorted out and then we jumped into the car...We missed out on that FTF, but whilst we were in this area we took the opportunity to do some other caches including this one.Absolutely no problems finding this cache. No issues to report here, so once we had signed the log it was all replaced as found and we were heading back to the car. Thanks for setting this one up.
Checked all around the bushes and went on my knees to search for it but couldn't find. DNF
Found after a quick search with ruby!!
Left a TB to go on further adventures!!
Thank you for looking after this little cache!

I went for a long morning walk today and found a few caches along the way. This one took me longer to locate than it should have done. I was back and forth a bit before I dived in far enough to spot the container. TFTC, Biggles.
Unfortunately couldn’t find after a thorough 20min search. Will have to come back for this one
Gave geodog a few laps of the perimeter before nabbing this one. He would have complained all the way home if I hadn’t. Tftc
Finally!
3rd time lucky.
Reading the last log I realized how close I had been on both past visits
I had avoided the wine bottle where it had been hidden.
This time it was a quick easy find as I knew the draft spot and it had been left in a more obvious place rather than buried.
TFTC- glad to finally tick this one off

2nd attempt, this time with my caching buddy- no luck so logging as a DNF
This time of year isn't the best for searching in leafy areas.
First unsuccessful search was 10/5/22

Getting a few in to keep in touch with a target I want to get to by the year... Starting to fall behind already. I must always let the GPS settle a little before going on get first...... It might save me going in the wing direction. Well hidden, found a little bit by car chance - but found nevertheless. Cheers!
Thanks HeathcoteXHunters for replacing the cache. A quick find this time and easier than the hint lead me to believe. Found a pen close by if anyone has lost it. tftc
Scrambled about for a while before homing in on the right tree but then saw it quickly. TFTC
Honestly I looked high and low, and just couldn't find it. I know it is somewhere on the ground but I just couldn't find it.
Last day in the big city and last day of the year , decided to park up and wander the area today collecting caches as I go ..and a bit of cito as well
First place I looked....we like those ones tftc
