Heading to Stanthorpe for the weekend but made a detour for a new cache. Seeing as this one was on my drive made sure to stop and create a smiley. Found the cache without a hassle and left my mark. Thanks for the cache Granite Belt Cachers Big Grin

A nice drive in the countryside brought us to this cache TFTC

We woke today to quite cool and foggy morning so we decided to wait around for things to warm up a bit.It was then we received a phone call from a family member traveling south that they were heading through Stanthorpe and would we like to catch up for a coffee. We never pass up the opportunity to catch up with family so it was on! They suggested we meet at a place in Thulimah, and we duly did. This set the agenda for the day. We decided afterwards to head further north up to Dalveen before working our way back home along the Fruit Run. It was only about halfway through the series we realized that there were fruit stalls all along the route, some open but many obviously no longer operational. We guess a new highway finished many of them!We collected a few other caches along the way as well.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Granite Belt Cachers.**SKI Pair****

Found the old burnt out cache. Have replaced it with a new one. Hope this meets with the owner's approval.

29-Aug-23
Found it but it wasn’t in any condition to be signed as it had been through a recent fire. I’ve advised the CO but after much consideration, I decided to log the find. My apologies if I’m breaking any rules.

I came out to find “Winter 1 Wonderland” - I found it but it wasn’t in good condition. There has either been a burn-off or a fire through here and the container has been burnt and melted. You should probably replace it archive this cache.

Another find on Peppa and PirateLinda's Brisbane to Stanthorpe Jaunt.
Love a good hint

08-Jul-22
PirateLinda and I have journeyed to Stanthorpe to attend the Catch-up in Stanthorpe event… With nothing more pressing, we’re making a long weekend of it…

The giant thermometer in Stanthorpe announced it was 11.0 degrees today… which meant at some stages I had three layers of clothing on, including a down jacket…

I’d like to say “quick find” here… but it wasn’t… and the hint is just cruel… Stanthorpe is nothing but rocks…

Tftc… our route was about to be derailed as the road ahead has been washed away…

As of the date of this log it is not possible to reach this cache from the south. The bridge is washed away. So we did the detour by coming from the north to GZ. Cache was in good condition. We signed the log before placing back as found.
Thanks Granite Belt Cachers.

Have not had a caching run for a few weeks, so decided to find some lonely back roads from Warwick to Applethorpe. Of course, they had to contain a few caches. Had hoped for about 10, came home with 15! Can't complain about that. Morning tea and lunch, then some tasting a the cheese factory!

Round the rocks, and round again, before GeoffryPeterSimon pointed me to the right spot.

ThanksGranite Belt Cachers for the hide and the find

This one had us stumped for a little while (lots of rocks and the co-ords were playing around) but eventually found it. Now to pick off the cobblers pegs!

I mentioned to some geobuddies that I wanted to go to Stanthorpe to finally collect the last of the Apple caches. A plan was hatched and a weekend away was planned. The weather did not look promising this morning, so we started out a bit earlier than originally planned. After finding a nearby cache, we headed to this one. A quick find was made and the log signed. TFTC

I found this geocache on a mystical journey from South Australia, through Victoria, New South Wales and back again.
I did log all of the caches on my handheld GPS however some of the logs did not sychronise properly so I apologise for the generic log on these caches, which are the ones that didn't log proprly from my GPS.
I had a fantastic journey and thank you for placing and maintaining your geocache or earthcache for visitors like me.

24-Jan-21
I have just had the best weekend caching around the Warwick, Summit and Stanthorpe areas. With caching buddies (geonayfee, Willis007 and Triple Turmoil) for the weekend we got in a very large number of caches, completing the apple geoart, the fruit run and a few other special caches along the way. I had a fantastic weekend with lots of laughs and funny events it just made for a fun time; the puzzle solving in the lead up to the weekend was great also.

A big thanks to all the CO’s of the caches along the way; for placing and maintaining the caches for us to enjoy. Visiting this area and seeing places I would never see in a normal trip here was enlightening, so again thanks.

In the weekend I got around 180 caches so firstly apologies for the generic part to the log, I do not remember all specifically but some did stand out so I will add a little to those in my posts.

Day two and it was an early start, there is so much still to get in the area. A fun and eventful day in many ways, lol.

As we started to work our way back home it was a matter of zigzagging and back tracking the caches to Warwick.

24-Jan-21
Day two on our epic journey around Stanthorpe and surrounds with Chamad, TripleTurmoil and Willis007.

After some much needed rest we woke up bright and early (Thanks Chamad for the farmyard sounds) and set off for another full day of caching around Stanthorpe to clear up the rest of the Stanthorpe Apple and a few other caches in between, then we slowly made our way back north towards Warwick while grabbing a bunch of caches we didn't get yesterday.

Same as yesterday we had a wonderful time exploring the area. I really enjoy visiting this part of the world, it's a great feeling to get out of the city and enjoy the country life.

Thank you to each and every CO for placing caches at these locations. We had a great time.

Signed as Twocans

After meeting Willis007 and Chamad at a previous event over New Years, they invited me to join them on an epic geoart mission at Stanthorpe. After weeks of puzzling and planning, today was day 2 (together with Nayfee). We covered a lot of mileage, had a lot of laughs and learnt a lot along the way.

Between Stanthorpe and Warwick (on our way back to Brisbane) there are a LOT of caches to sign and we did a pretty good job of getting every single one we could - signed as Twocan to save 25 seconds of signing at each cache, as we had work to do!

24-Jan-21
Heading out to Stanthorpe this weekend to grab some of the wonderful caches on offer out here. Our group of Triple Turmoil, CHAMAD and NayFee signed logs as team TWOCAN.
An easy find at gz today.

It’s winter alright but far from cold. Back in Redcliffe we constantly here the about the temperature in Stanthorpe and are glad we aren’t in it. It’s always the coldest in the state and we all wonder how it would affect the length of our members. We have been dodging the cold and have even embraced it (apart from the penis shrinkage). Thankfully my wife has a few inches tucked up her sleeve. tftc

After finding Cat Eye we thought we would try our luck with this one. We noticed workers on the side of the road and hoped we still had a distance to go before cache area. Luckily we did at least 400metres to go.
On arrival we noted all the rocks but were not deterred and in a short time found the
cache. We soon had the lig signed and cache replaced as found.
Thank you for the cache, Granite Belt Cachers.

Kestal and I headed south from Toowoomba on a numbers grab for her next milestone...a total of 57 required...it was a case of see how we go as to whether the numbers would add up today to accomplish her own personal challenge or another trip would be required. There were quite a few on her list that I had already found but I was happy to play chauffeur so she could accomplish her goal. By 11am we were surprised how well we were doing and decided to go for the "big one". A fun day was had and my thanks goes to you for the part you played...apologies for the generic log. Eskies5 and I planned a trip to Stanthorpe and surrounding areas to nudge me a little closer to a milestone. With the nudge now being a push this was the thirty-sixth stop of what would be 58 finds for the day for me. Found this cache at 10:38am with not a problem. All signed and returned. TFTC

On our way home from the Mega at St Arnaud and we spend the 19th in Tamworth and made our way to Stanthorpe on the 20th. Arrived and cached and went out to see Ian and Chris and the other occupants of the house. Stayed in Stanthorpe over night 20th and at 5 am this morning re started the cache hunt. Finished in Stanthorpe and made our way to Toowoomba via Warwick and found the ones there that sere suited to our time schedule and then on to Toowoomba where we cached till 6 pm. On our way to the Sunshine Coast where we will be attending a family function on the 23rd. Signed all logs with youngoldfella where ever possible but if the logs were micro or small used my usual YOF signature. All good here. TFTC

We are on our war to Blackall, our 2nd night on our trip is at Stanthorpe.
Stanthorpe at the moment the area has been devastated by many fire in the region & it's the wonderful work by the firies that has saved the many homes. To add to this the town is also going through a major drought. Our base is at the Robin's Nest where a flurry of activity is happening with their charity work & now the added work of collecting & distributing food & clothing to the many effected people.
A real experience to spend a couple of days here.
Always tiime to locate a couple of caches.
Thankyou for placing this cache

17-May-19
It was a good caching day today and we picked up some more smiley faces for our map, along with ilook4geo. We found more caches in a few different series and only had one DNF to spoil the day. Each of the caches had the log signed, usually as GP2 and ilg. Each container was then put back into place as it had been found. Our thanks go to Granite Belt Cachers for placing this cache and adding to the fun of the game.

A quick find while visiting Stanthorpe over the Australia Day weekend. Thanks

22-Nov-18
Hi there Granite Belt Cachers.

Passing through Warwick, hoping to catch up with some friends. We didn't manage to catch up, so we went caching towards Stanthorpe instead. All up we found 20 caches & DNF'd 0 in this cache run.

Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Small Toy.

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Found @ 10.20am

9 of 32 caches found today.

We'd been watching the 5 earlier releases of this series since they were published but hadn't had the opportunity to pay a visit this far southwest as yet.
Late Tuesday night we noticed there were another 5 of this series published &, so far, only two of the ten were logged as found.
Wednesday being a 'free' day we rose early, sorted things at home & set off to see what the day held in store for us. Smile
Bundling Winter the Geo-cat into the Geo-Beast we began the pleasant enough two & a half hour drive which soon had us closing in on GZ in search of our Geo-cat's namesake caches! LOL ...

Yet another nice quick find with good coordinates.
Tucked away nicely.
I wonder if the resident (?) of the nearby burrow is the cache guardian?
If it is then it has done a great job of keeping people away, until now! LOL ...
Another clean, unsigned log waiting for our stamp of approval. Smile

Made our mark & replaced as found.
