There was a CITO in Wangaratta [^] and so dalerious and I, accompanied by Rex[:X], headed out for the day to cache [^] and pick up rubbish [^] and cache some more[^]
During the day I had 1 DNF Even worse was that while speaking to a man and letting Rex play with the man's 2 labradors at the cache that was DNFd, I dropped my hand held sun and fractured the lens [xx(][xx(] We attended 1 CITO event and found 9 caches plus had lots of laughs
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Was great to get out to my first CITO, the girls had fun cleaning up even though there wasn't as much as expected. Thanks for the opportunity to catch up and put some faces to names.
Good to see so many lending a hand to clean up the area on a blustery day. Fortunately the rain mostly stayed away, so we could get on with the job. Happy to meet members of the Landcare Team and fellow cachers from near and far. There was time for a sausage and a chat about geocaches, TB’s and kit to carry when hiking in the bush. Thanks for a most enjoyable CITO Ovens Landcare.
Attended with locus cache and her fur baby Rex.
With garbage bags in hand, just as we headed off to do our bit for the One Mile Creek, a few "stary eyed" lads wandered past on the bot for a "spare" ciggy.
"No such thing." I told them."But for a price......."
So it came to be that for the cost of 3 cigarettes, 3 extra bags of rubbish were collected by these muggled muggles who seemed quite keen to be so productive.
We managed quite an "interesting" haul at this CITO (see included pics) but had to walk a fair hike to fill our bags which mostly consisted of polystyrene foam compensating nicely for some of the heavier items we were lugging.

Out with OZREG, heading to a CITO in Wangaratta and making the most of a spring day. Taking the opportunity to grab some caches along the way Despite having a DNF's, we still enjoyed our day together with a few laughs and found some great hides and the bonus of catching up with a number of other cachers, while picking up some rubbish and having a BBQ.
We had a busy time, cleaning up along the river. Then it was great having a chat and catching up with some of the locals and familiar faces. Even got the run down on what pack to carry, when out on hikes, thanks to Harrowong.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks Lady Marian for putting on the event for us to attend.

Looking at the forecast it was looking a bit sketchy for today’s CITO in Wangaratta but considering I live so close to it how could I not attend.
Fortunately the weather only dusted us a couple of times with rain, but not enough to need our jackets. The wind was probably the worst part, but even then it wasn’t to cold.
I wasn’t sure how much rubbish we’d be finding along the creek today, as this is a very familiar area where I go running. But with many hands we managed a decent haul and found plenty to pick up scattered around. It was great to hear that the quantity of rubbish is significantly down from a couple of years ago.
Good to see a few geocaches in attendance to bolster the numbers for this community event.
Happy CITO weekend!

A surprising clean area, but between all of us a fair bit of rubbish was cleaned up.
The weather held off enough to make it a very pleasant walk along the One Mile Creek.
Good to see old friends and new at this worthy event.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 14781. The first of two CITO's we will attend this weekend. A surprisingly clean area, despite people wandering far and wide. Cold and blustery and good to have a warming sausage in bread after we had finished.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend as we have to be in sunny Melbourne.
Hope everyone has a great day catching up.
Cheers

Hoping the rain showers will stay away for this rubbish cleaning event, and look forward to meeting members of Ovens Landcare.
