Another bonus cache while we charge on our road trip. No muggles to fear today either. These charging station caches are much appreciated! Tftc!!!
Thanks for your amazing cache tryfyn. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. I've been here a few times but too many muggles for comfort. Too much pruning has been done and has left the need to have a better heater to keep warm over the winter. Found with Fisha1288. Has earned a favorite from me because I have had so many tries at this oneCheers, Cympull.
Thanks tryfyn for the cache. Its #1957 for us. We found your cache on Thursday 23 May 2024. Took a while searching with lots of muggles about. Finally found it after rereading description and logs.
Nobody around so started looking in the wrong spot. Glad i found the right spot. [TFTC]
Today 3 of the Team SEAC crew headed down as the Waihi Walking Wanderers...a smaller crew than usual being Easter Weekend but that didn't stop our enthusiasm or plan for the day. Another great day out for sure!! Best of all not a single DNF!!I spied this from the wrong side so directed Mr NZT where to look and reach in. Soon signed and returned. Off to the local establishment for some easter eggs but they had none!!!Thanks for the cache.
The call went up as another caching raid had been planned (in minute detail I have to say) by Keylev. As it was Easter weekend we didn't have the full Team SEAC compliment but 3 of us headed down to Waihi to execute "THE PLAN". So starts the adventure of Keyle, NurseDr and NZTravellers.Quick find then realize there are people sitting in a car next to GZ while the car charges. They asked if we found it. They thought we were doing a scavenger hunt.TFTC
Found together with Heureka10.Thanks for the cache.Greetings from Czech Republic.
Found together with Kendar05. Thank you for the cache. Greetings from Czech Republic.
Im staying in Waihi for the weekend for some leisurely bike riding and walking in some new areas. My afternoon riding is done, dinner eaten, so I decided to head to the CBD for some caching for dessert. This one took me a few moments to spot but I did, just in the nick of time before a driver in their Nissan Leaf decided to pull up and use the area for its intended purpose. Thanks tryfyn#5088Logged using Cachly.
#14,710. Park and grab near the ChargeNet Charging Station off Kenny Street in Waihi. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
It took longer than it should have because I was looking at the wrong place but got it in the end. TFTC
**#17621** I used the chance to visit the cache **Electric Highway 4 (Waihi)** while I was shopping in the vicinityThanks tryfyn for contributing to the game by this cache. TFTC
Thanks, this was a super quick find as I'd parked right along side it by pure chance. T4tC tryfyn,Civvnr&MissTreadlightly....(UK) Geocaching.com finds so far 11303
A nice quick park and grab while jillopy grabbed a replacement for a forgotten toothbrush. TFTC!
Hehehe! What a fun one. So creative. Wasnt enough space for my log so decided to use what I had a receipt. But thats, it works. Couldnt find at first but then looked and i finally saw it. Love this! TFTC:)
Found a few caches today between Paeroa and our overnight stop at Waihi Beach, most of them in and around Waihi. Parked nearby and walked to this one and one other. Took a moment or two to spot in the foliage. #5896. TFTC.
Started our day out in Paihia coming through Dargaville then SH1 unfortunately not in an electric car !! With my muggle brother. Found easily and in moderate safety from muggles. Thank you for placing this cache for me to find. Adding to the adventure. From Timaru....Cache in A1 condition ready for the next finder.
Found with trayc.g on our way to Beach Hop in Whangamata. Am looking forward to some family adventures over the next week with this walk being one of them TFTC
Found this one while the family popped into the supermarket to get some supplies before we head to our accommodation in Whangamata. Had to be stealthy as it was a busy night. TFTC
Todays plan was to come to Waihi do some adventure labs and the walk around the mine collecting any of the other caches we passed and beat our most caches found in one day.
We left the sunshine behind in Auckland and spent a rather wet morning collecting the information required for the adventure labs and grabbed a few caches too. This was the first traditional we looked for today and thanks to the rain the area was very quiet which allowed us to make a quick find.

Mr Juju54 found this one while I got some groceries - good business for New World TFTC
In the evening we walked through the town and looks for some nicht places. It was dark and we had no idea! It's a pity!
Greetings fromFelsmaus.

A nice easy find here today after the rain had stopped. This was a great stop for lunch on a roadie from coast to coast. TFTC.
Was staring me right in the face bit Kiwiterm got it first. Thanks for the cache
Continued my night time walk through this old town and this was to be the last cache of the day Usually I like to be environmentally friendly and ride my bike everywhere, but I'm afraid to say that my grandparents aren't as much and use a car requiring petrol, which is not what this hide is encouraging... (Sorry tryfyn!) Anyway, I didn't have any issues with finding this one and I liked the effort put in to hopefully keeping this hide in place a little longer Signed myself in before replacing as found and heading off back to Waihi Beach and having dinner. TFTC tryfyn!
Having a holiday in Waihi Beach with my sister and grandparents, but we were in need of a few groceries, so we popped in to New World in the town and this was the perfect excuse to wander off and find a couple caches It was pitch-black being 7:30pm, and absolutely freezing, but nothing stops me from geocaching. Thanks to willbuild and tryfyn for their hides!

A busy parking lot but atleast no one charging up! Arrived in our very much not electric vehicle and tried to be stealth with the search.
These machines are impressive! Thanks Tryfyn

On our way from Bowentown to Pauanui today. Stopped here to stock up. I then checked out if there was a nearby cache and wahoo there is. I’m intrigued with how these stations work. We have eight of them at our nearest supermarket. Never seen them in use. I failed to spot the hide on my first pass but got there second time around.

Passed this cache on the way to the nearby Adventure Lab so could not resist stopping on the way back past to collect it. Love the idea, cache quickly located. TFTC

Found nearly a year ago...thought I had been here before! Thanks for the placement
I am heading back to Auckland today. I made enough stops to ensure I didn't get home too soon.
This one has given me heartburn on two other occasions. I used the recent photo of a PF to narrow my search a bit. It blends in very nicely, so I didn't spot it until I looked at it from a different angle. . TFTC.

I was sure I’d found this one before, and sure enough I’d signed it a year ago. I obviously forgot to log it, today I re-found it and am now logging it.
On our way north to Whitianga to do the TMGT caches. First stop was Tuapiro to check our caches, then on to Waihi because there are a few new ones around the area. Mr S found this one after we decided where it wouldn't be. These charging stations are popping up all over the country. One day, perhaps, we will all be driving electric cars. We have even seen an electric camper van. So the times they are a changing.
Thanks tryfyn.
Thanks tryfyn.
Headed over this way to clear a few non-smilies off the map with Cats&Dragons. The plan was to start in Waihi and head South along the coast and see how far we can get before our other halves call and tell us to head home. To make the most of this a 4am start was on the cards to cram as much caching in as possible.
First stop for the day was the new caches along the Pit Rim Walkway. With the Pit Rim Walkway now complete it was off to a new location, but we stopped off here to get this hide before leaving. With the place to ourselves we didn't need to be stealthy so we quickly had the cache in our hands.

Found it with Katbowersnz. Just before lockdown happened. Who knew eh! Lost the pen early in the piece. She has the photographic evidence
#886 - (Taschynz) and I are on a mission to find as many caches in Waihi as we can. But we lost of pen early on in our walk Noobs. So we only have photos of the log.
We had to wait at this one.for awhile as there were lots of people around. But we finally got it!

Over here with the good wife to catch up with friends so stopped by for a few caches this being one of them, thanks for the placement
Well we are at the nearby supermarket collecting a few supplies for an overnight stay
Ignoring the cache when we arrived, to many muggles near GZ, now it is quieter. Again rebel98 must have been at the right angle, as he spotted the cache, and I had to do the retrieval. Happy to find this one, and turn it into a smiley. Thanks for the hide tryfyn

Heading back through Waihi, so stopped opposite to check this out. Nice clever hide here, TFTC
We were in the area over Labour weekend to up our numbers for the year. Caching today with Stik-a-crane, purply, darthcacher1, eir-ot - logs signed as SEAC Labour or similar to save space on the logs (SEAC are a group of cachers from South and East Auckland who often take caching adventures together). Finding this cache meant we had now attempted every cache in Waihi today. Unfortunately we had a few DNF's but we were happy to end our caching in the area on a find (and we had 1 more cache to find on our way home to meet our target for the day).
Down for the day caching the area with a group, consisting of HeMaLuDy, EIR-0T, Darthcacher1, and Purply.
Given we were a group we logged in as SEAC Labour, or SEAC Labour day to save logbook space.
Picking up the last few drive-by caches in the area.
Thanks for bringing us here.
TFTC.

In a good place and more support than others more enthusiasm than most at making and alot more effort
We drive through Waihi a lot but for some reason we have neglected to look for this one so today we decided to remedy the situation.
It was quite early in the day and the carpark was almost empty so we could search with no major muggle issues and we soon spotted the cache.
Great hiding place, cache is in good condition. Thanks tryfyn.

Nearly at the end of our cache raid of the area. Luckily it was quiet around GZ with no one using the facilities, no problems with the find TFTC.
Staying in Waihi for the weekend with Merlot58 and Supernanny, collecting caches for the Mystery at the Museum souvenir. We needed some supplies so stopped at New World. At GZ we saw a car using the facilities, but luckily for us they were just departing so we were able to make a quick find here.
In Waihi for the weekend with Jag50 and Supernanny. A quick find before we popped into the nearby establishment for supplies
Find number 5564.Another day with Boges as he wanted some fitness and to collect my caches at the north end of Waihi Beach. We were looking for a bakery and took a wrong turn so we popped in here for me to collect this one. I had been here before and spotted the cache but did not grab it as there were too many muggles around. All quiet this morning so I was able quickly grab, sign and return. Thank you for the placement.
This is a tricky one, given how busy the place usually is. Granddaughter Katie was down for a few days and of course having a kid "messing about" is always a good excuse for activity that would otherwise look simply strange. So she was very pleased to help grab this one - we'll get her signed up as a fully-fledged cacher yet!
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
Like that power one.. ..and i chose the right spot for this good geocache ..thanks from Swiss guy!
We met a few of these on our travels and this time we were at the super market early in the morning so i had no trouble with Muggles etc. I really enjoyed coming back to waihi after many years and seeing the changes which surprisingly were not great.
We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at Hahei.

Heading home to Gisborne on back country roads collecting some smileys. Afraid I’m not using an electric car. Guzzling up the gas and the the planet! TFTC
Did a little detour so I could stop here on our way to whangamata for a day trip. A quicker find than I was expecting. TFTC.
Cache was quickly spotted and retrieved.

Out at Waihi Beach this afternoon and we had stopped at the local shop and my husband had noticed the nearby device. It reminded me of one that I had seen up near the airport where there is a cache, but I hadn't been able to get to it because of muggles++. I whipped out my phone, and sure enough there is a cache here also. We had already left for the beach, so on the way back we made another stop here and I picked up the cache. Great spot, TFTC
Thanks tryfyn....have fun on your car journeys!
Will tell my son about this as he is coming to Waihi in December and has a hybrid.
Cool hide.....

I was heading to GZ and as I was about to park up, I noticed a group of people looking in the bushes. This could only be geocachers. Had a bit of a chat then went out own ways. TFTC.
