Logs
Making my way back to the railway station (except that it ended up being the bus) and I stopped by here. This had only recently been archived and I had not refreshed the cache on my phone (I mostly work off-line) so I still had it as a live cache, with all the recent logs apart from the last three. Took a bit to find. But actually was fairly obvious, once I saw the hide. Finding the hide was the hard part. Well, no not finding it. Just seeing it. I seared here, I searched there, I searched up that way, all I had to do was look over there and it was obvious that's where the hide would be. But I didn't. I gave up. And walked down the track to the station. three steps and I saw the hide! And the remains of the cache. Ewww, I'm not getting that. It's going to be slimey and unsignable. Here's a phone instead.---I am trying to get over my one-cache-only mentality that I adopted when working a streak and continued with a bunch of calendar based projects. It was always get the bare minimum required, save the rest for later. Well my calendar projects are down to just two or three and do not involve traditionals or puzzles as such, so yesterday I went to Wainuomata and and got five caches up on the ridge, despite that it rained the whole time. Today I went up the Waitaki Reserve, again despite the forecast for rain all day. Well it did not rain at all, but there must have been lots overnight as by the time I came out at luchtime I was completely wet, and even a bit damp under my raincoat. My cache notes are a bit of a sodden mess. Found about 10 caches, and only left one cache behind. But that was because it is a Regular, and that is one of my calendar projects, so I am saving it for later. All in all a good day!
A pleasant walk through a bushy park spoilt by a sub-standard poorly maintained cache. As per previos finder, a photo was taken to prove find.TFTC GLAD-NZ

Found thanks to previous messages, but can't add a log as it's so wet n muddy. Per previous logs, definitely needs maintenance
Hey there. GROET 37 needs maintenance unfortunately. See our log. We found a busted plastic tub and plastic log bag separately in the bush. Have hidden them in hollow log stump thing, left side of path, 15 steps north of the wooden path rain gutter. Msg me if you need more info.
Spent ages on this not wanting to dnf it. Knew something wasn't right reading back on all the easy finds. Searched the obvious spots but nothing. Was just about to quit when we found a log and busted plastic tub lying loose in the bush. Log will be too wet to sign unfortunately.
Out caching with JustLookin00 today and we decided on Silverstream. Well doesn't this cache have a lovely little snuggle hole. Lovely track with the birds as we walked along. TFTC GLAD-NZ. .
Found while chasing cache numbers in this area for a challenge with Itchyfeet2020.
A nice wee stroll along a bush track with plenty of birdsong. The air wafting nice eucalyptus notes. A quick find, cache all tucked away again.

Afternoon caching with BFG. Found this lovely new track and as we arrive at GZ we see some other people wandering around with a mobile phone. A few seconds later we helped them locate the cache and then had a great yarn. Nice meeting new cachers, especially the younger ones. Thanks for the cache.
We carried on walking past the 2 likely spots as there was a couple of people up the track… but soon realised they were paused with phone in hand — yep, cachers We pointed back to the potential items and they soon found the cache. Had a nice intro + catchup with philmcc1. Thanks for another GLAD-NZ!
Having just DNF'd a nearby cache neighbour, I was glad to find this one at least. Initially I looked on the wrong side of the path at what I thought was a very obvious location (significant tree) but end up turning my attention to the other side and soon spotted a likely place.
This cache is all good, and the log now has my name on it, Thanks for setting it up.

Nice little walkway with shade to keep things cooler. Wasn’t expecting the container but no issues finding the cache. TFTC
GPS was a bit off but found easily enough. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! I certainly overestimated terrain requirements here, but evilC made a quick find after we avoided rolling down the bank. TFTC!!
Thanks! Found with Mr 5. My pen stopped working so only managed to write the date
Well thats central silverstream cleared out again. I thought I had done that only a couple of years ago but I checked and its five years! Time flies.
Never been in this part of town before. This was a great piece of native bush - well, maybe it was a great time of day (late afternoon in winter) so all the birds were out with their raucus evening song. Fantastic. And the cache was a nice straight forward find - TFTC.
I found it while walking the dog, sadly I forgot a pen so will return tomorrow with a pen to physically log it!!
#7833. Needed a few caches today so decided to head to the Hutt Valley and pick some up. Starting to run out of caches on the flat and no time after work to go hill climbing. Fortunately these were still here to pick up. Wandered up a path I had not been on before. All quiet this evening. Checked one wrong spot before I saw the proper spot to search. Quick find after that. Signed the logbook and replaced as found. Thanks GLAD-NZ for the cache.
Not exactly an eclipse tin, nor is the paper usable. But I found It none the less
We found the cache easily. Log sheet is a bit damp but a pen still worked on the paper. TFTC!
Did not find it but it was our first day of geocaching so might just be a lack of skills
Tricky to find an entrance to this park, but at least the cache was easy to find:-)

I walk past this site quite often so I decided to leave searching for this cache until a day arrived for which I needed to bump up my number of finds for. 31 May was such a day so I made my way here after work. The search wasn't my best work but I found the cache soon enough.
Found while out with Selesi. A new park for me. Cache was nicely accessible though it did take a little while to find it with spells during the search to chat to muggles. TFTC.
Gilgul put her hands on this one after spotting something from a short distance away, had to time things between muggles TFTC
Was not where I expected but again the same sister found it. Need to take her everywhere we go. Team kzd
I disturbed a couple of smooching school kids who hurried on their way looking highly embarrassed. They must have been fully engrossed because the gravel path gives plenty of warning of approaching company. The cache was a bit exposed, as were the smoochers, so an easy find. I signed the log, put it away in it's nook, turned around and headed home; just up the road as it happens.
Thanks for another in the series. This one shouldn't rust so quickly due to the double container, cheers!

On a geocaching adventure around the country with myself, my car and my tent. Drove almost 4000km and collected 170 caches over a week of roadtripping, camping and seeing the beautiful sights of New Zealand. Lots of fun and so many great caches were found, as well as a lot of DNF's. Apologies for copy paste post. Thank you to all cache owners. Day two driving from Wellington, across the ferry and to Momorangi bay. Thank you for the cache
Found while having a walk around Silverstream and searching out the caches I have overlooked in the past. Thanks for the time spent in placing caches in some interesting hides.
Out with Flowerydaze on the first day of the year for 2019. Nice area to walk on a lovely day, a little glitch on the old Garmin probably due to overhead foliage but soon had this one in hand. TFTC
The weather was just perfect today and a great start to the New Year. Talla64 found this one very quickly while I was looking in the wrong spot. Thanks for the cache Glad-NZ. Dropped off a TB.
# 1221 Pouring rain this evening, and after having no success at a nearby Park n Glad I ninja'd up to this one. Im not sure i took the most direct route to the cache, but i got there through the bush on a bush track from the park up above. Unfortunately my umbrella couldnt fit through the tightish bush track so i got wet Cache all nice and dry inside. Thanks GLAD NZ, glad for a reason to get out into the rain (not really)
Out to nab a few caches with DaVinciHunter and the sprogs. Nice potter down the path to collect this. TFTC!
Last of the Silverstream Groets today on a loop around the area.
GPS misdirected me initially but once it settled I spotted something interesting as I headed towards where it was now leading me, and a quick find resulted.

Jess.daphne and I took to the streets of Wellington to find some caches after the mega event and this was one of them. Tftc from team Jeje.
T F T C GLAD-NZ, another good hide and another in the series. Nice one!
It's the last day in the area, day 4 and catch a ferry back to the Mainland. We've had a good visit and rounded out that visit with another 20-plus haul for the day, in fact it was all done by 1130am and a ferry check-in of 1230. Started off by picking off some low-hanging p n g caches, then ended off with a trip up Kinglsey Loop track and a nice walk that was too. All good and over 100 for the weekend.
The big day(s) has/have arrived. It's MEGA weekend in Wellington region and the culmination of lots of hard work by the organising committee. Also, not to be forgotten, are the caches of the local, and not so local COs, which help the game to continue and enable the enjoyment of others.
The trip has been planned for a while now and the Blenheim contingent of Ricardinho.nz and myself are coming over early on Friday morning on the Bluebridge ferry (after an early morning (non-) 'event') before returning on same mode of transport on Monday lunchtime.
We didn't manage much caching on the Friday but made up for that with 3 good days after and over 100 finds for the weekend to boost my Wellington region finds past my Nelson region ones and even giving my previously prolific Auckland numbers a 'nudge'.
Over the weekend there was plenty of socialising, sharing of ideas, opinions and interesting conversations and a podium spot for the Geosaders quiz team. Allied up with some new caching friends and remet several other rarely seen friends from other areas of the country. A good weekend all around and even the weather played nicely with a sunny outlook each of the days, without it being too warm and uncomfortable. Plenty of events attended, pleasant walks experienced, a couple of bike rides along the Hutt River as well as a smattering of GROET caches for which we were GLAD.
Thanks to all of the cache owners for their hides and listings and looking forward to the next time I visit the area to continue the enjoyment.
