Today we took a loop out of town which headed back towards Stanthorpe then out to the southern end of Lake Leslie before heading up to the lake wall and then back into Warwick. We were hoping for warmer weather but it was a mixture of very light showers with some sunny patches and light winds.A couple of DNFs as well as being thwarted with some tree fishing caches as our fishing pole just isn't long enough. We ill have to rethink that when we get home. Its happening more and more!A good day caching.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Granite Belt Cachers.**SKI Pair****
We detured up this road to grab the two traditional cache along here. Found it 10 metres from G.Z. you will need to widen your surch here. Tftc
It helps to read previous logs - in this instance I refer to amended coordinates. However, a large tree had been hit by lightning and one great branch had torn off and fallen exactly at the amended GZ!!I did some crawling around but Geohubby went a bit further afield and found the cache, again! It is about 10m from the stated coordinates, hidden behind/under an old dead tree that is on the ground. Good luck! And TFTC!
Co ords are really bad on this one and certainly should be re-visited.
Lucky for me, TBU took some co-ords so I used them. Found the cache quickly afterwards.
Re-camo and made the camo stand out.
Cache in good condition.

No luck here today. A bit pressed for time and the GPRr just would not settle. Looked in the likely spots, but the prize has eluded me, at least for now. Will try again next time I'm in the area.
We are staying in Applethorpe for a few nights to look for a few of the many caches in the area we still have not found.
Finally the rain has stopped. Grass still wet but that isn't stopping us
TFTC
Had slipped in away but had some grabbers and they did the trick. Co ords out a bit.

After attending the CITO in Warwick today, RoddyC, Hatzofff, GrannySmith1947 (and Miss Millie the Geo Dog), and half of my team (Mr D had to stay home to cook a hot dinner after a long day of caching) set off down to the Granite Belt, chasing those little smilie faces. Great afternoon, many caches found, only 2 not so...Some I had already found, but still had our travel bugs visit.
Passing by with travel bugs - last time we were here, I was at #5500, yesterday reached #6000. Thanks Granite Belt CachersJ

After 10 years on the road, we have finally decided to settle and put some roots down. Warwick is our chosen town. While we wait impatiently for settlement, we sit out time in our caravan, or go shopping for furniture, or go caching! It rained for two days, so today it was off for a drive down towards Stanthorpe in the sunshine.e
We found this nice back road to follow. What is down here, about six caches we hope as that is what we need to put us at #5500 today.
Nice country drive. Thanks Granite Belt Cachers for bringing us down this road.

As we got out of the car Mr Herbz looked up and there was a massive bird of prey spiralling around above our heads. We stopped to watch for a short while and then began our search. There were several likely spots here and we couldn't seem to get the compass to settle on anywhere below 13m. So at the closest point Mrs Herbz started looking and soon spotted the cache. TFTC.
Just arrived in the area after the long journey down from Warwick A quck find on the eastern side of the highway not sur if I was still in QLD. TFTC.
I mentioned to some geobuddies that I wanted to go to Stanthorpe to finally collect the last of the Apple caches. A plan was hatched and a weekend away was planned. The weather was so much nicer today than yesterday. After finding a nearby cache, we headed to this one. A quick find was made and the log signed. TFTC
Road trip to Stanthorpe from Brisbane and collecting a few ALs, bonuses as well as other caches. Thanks so much for showing us around your local area - it is greatly appreciated.
A long weekend up on the Southern Downs from Brisbane, looking for caches from Clifton down to Stanthorpe and in between. Thank you to all CO's for placing these caches - much appreciated. Found cache and signed log. TFTC
I found this geocache on a mystical journey from South Australia, through Victoria, New South Wales and back again.
I did log all of the caches on my handheld GPS however some of the logs did not sychronise properly so I apologise for the generic log on these caches, which are the ones that didn't log proprly from my GPS.
I had a fantastic journey and thank you for placing and maintaining your geocache or earthcache for visitors like me.

On way back from Warwick after dashing up there early this morning.
Last time I was here my socks and sneakers got well soaked The recent finds inspired me to return and it was a short search. My suggestion is closer to the road side of the stack.

I have just had the best weekend caching around the Warwick, Summit and Stanthorpe areas. With caching buddies (geonayfee, Willis007 and Triple Turmoil) for the weekend we got in a very large number of caches, completing the apple geoart, the fruit run and a few other special caches along the way. I had a fantastic weekend with lots of laughs and funny events it just made for a fun time; the puzzle solving in the lead up to the weekend was great also.
A big thanks to all the CO’s of the caches along the way; for placing and maintaining the caches for us to enjoy. Visiting this area and seeing places I would never see in a normal trip here was enlightening, so again thanks.
In the weekend I got around 180 caches so firstly apologies for the generic part to the log, I do not remember all specifically but some did stand out so I will add a little to those in my posts.
Day two and it was an early start, there is so much still to get in the area. A fun and eventful day in many ways, lol.

Day two on our epic journey around Stanthorpe and surrounds with Chamad, TripleTurmoil and Willis007.
After some much needed rest we woke up bright and early (Thanks Chamad for the farmyard sounds) and set off for another full day of caching around Stanthorpe to clear up the rest of the Stanthorpe Apple and a few other caches in between, then we slowly made our way back north towards Warwick while grabbing a bunch of caches we didn't get yesterday.
Same as yesterday we had a wonderful time exploring the area. I really enjoy visiting this part of the world, it's a great feeling to get out of the city and enjoy the country life.
Thank you to each and every CO for placing caches at these locations. We had a great time.

After meeting Willis007 and Chamad at a previous event over New Years, they invited me to join them on an epic geoart mission at Stanthorpe. After weeks of puzzling and planning, today was the day (together with Nayfee). We covered a lot of mileage, had a lot of laughs and learnt a lot along the way.
Between Warwick and Stanthorpe there are a LOT of caches to sign and we did a pretty good job of getting every single one we could - signed as Twocan to save 25 seconds of signing at each cache, as we had work to do!
Came here on the previous day and after 15 mins, it couldn't be found. GPS was very jumpy and telling us it was in the paddock. Read previous logs saying that it was 15 m from gz but that still didn't help.
Chamad was determined to leave no stone unturned, so back out we went the next day. And boy do I wish I had found it the previous day!!!!!
As I pulled over into the long grass, my car was very quickly smelling like a dead animal. I couldn't work out why since the windows were up. Then I saw all the flies buzzing around my car - and I mean a lot of flies! So I moved. Only to discover that there was an already dead kangaroo in that grass, which I had parked on top of, pulling skin off....and let's just say that 2 days later and I am still suffering the consequences of that!
After another 15 mins of searching, just as we were about to give up...I kicked over the right large piece of "bark". Thank goodness the smell was worth coming back. (maybe).

Defeated by the rain ‘tho I really wanted to find it after hopping out of the car and dropping both feet into a lake aka the verge
My god that wind is cold. Out early this morning to collect a few more of the local regions caches in offer. The cache was found quickly and in good condition
Thanks to the co for the cache

Found by Mary and David at 14:17. Must have been some rain since our last visit, as there was a tinge of green visible. Our thanks to Granite Belt Cachers.
On our way home from the Mega at St Arnaud and we spend the 19th in Tamworth and made our way to Stanthorpe on the 20th. Arrived and cached and went out to see Ian and Chris and the other occupants of the house. Stayed in Stanthorpe over night 20th and at 5 am this morning re started the cache hunt. Finished in Stanthorpe and made our way to Toowoomba via Warwick and found the ones there that sere suited to our time schedule and then on to Toowoomba where we cached till 6 pm. On our way to the Sunshine Coast where we will be attending a family function on the 23rd. Signed all logs with youngoldfella where ever possible but if the logs were micro or small used my usual YOF signature. All good here. My GPSr had this one 13 meters out but maybe just me. TFTC

On our way to QOGM (Blackall) day 14 of our trip. 7 caches for the day and 440 for the trip.TFTC
We are on our war to Blackall, our 2nd night on our trip is at Stanthorpe.
Stanthorpe at the moment the area has been devastated by many fire in the region & it's the wonderful work by the firies that has saved the many homes. To add to this the town is also going through a major drought. Our base is at the Robin's Nest where a flurry of activity is happening with their charity work & now the added work of collecting & distributing food & clothing to the many effected people.
A real experience to spend a couple of days here.
Always tiime to locate a couple of caches.
Thankyou for placing this cache

Hi there Granite Belt Cachers.
Passing through Warwick, hoping to catch up with some friends. We didn't manage to catch up, so we went caching towards Stanthorpe instead. All up we found 20 caches & DNF'd 0 in this cache run.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 16m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Small Toy.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

On our way to a surprise visit to The Summit, we needed to empty our toilet cassette and find a cache. Both tasks done and dusted at Dalveen
Took the van down the narrow road and it was amazing how many cars there were going up and down here. Some stopped and pulled right over for us, while others just ran on the shoulder while we did the same.
Thanks Granite Belt Cachers.

Not sure who frightened whom the most. Two little rabbit kittens came running out from the undergrowth and ran so fast. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find on our way into Stanthorpe which we are never going to get to at this rate. Thanks for the cache.

4 of 32 caches found today.
We'd been watching the 5 earlier releases of this series since they were published but hadn't had the opportunity to pay a visit this far southwest as yet.
Late Tuesday night we noticed there were another 5 of this series published &, so far, only two of the ten were logged as found.
Wednesday being a 'free' day we rose early, sorted things at home & set off to see what the day held in store for us.
Bundling Winter the Geo-cat into the Geo-Beast we began the pleasant enough two & a half hour drive which soon had us closing in on GZ in search of our Geocat's namesake caches! LOL ...
Having successfully snared three FTFs this morning we slowed the pace just a little.
Despite the overcast & threatening rain clouds the sun was valiantly attempting to keep us company.
Hoping the caching gods were still looking after us we headed here for our fourth search to begin.
And a quick one it was too.
The cachewas opened to reveal a nice clean log & confirmed that we were, indeed, being watched over by something otherworldly! LOL ...
WOOHOO!
Made our mark & replaced as found.
