We had just finished the 3 capes and was looking for a relaxing few days for our legs to recover.I had solved these puzzles weeks ago but couldn't work out how to put the corrected co-ords into my profile. So we went by stairman1's profile. So these caches will probably be out of order. Nevertheless we found them all.What a fantastic series. It was such a pleasure to complete. So many different varieties.I am sorry these are going to be generic.Thank you for all your effort.

Found with goldielover after doing the 3Capes hike. We moved up the road to a little town Orford. A nice place to visit and a great base camp for the two days it took to complete.This has to be the best power trail I have ever done. The amount of work you and some helpers have put into these is a credit to you all. I think this is the first power trail I have done also, with a 100percent find rate. All your co-ords were perfect and you had us going on a few of the trickier hides. We were stunned at the quality of most of them as well. If I had more favourite points to give, I would have. If these had been stand-alone caches, I am certain you would have more favourite points in the bag.When goldielover solved these back in Brisbane it was our intention to quickly grab them and accumulate a few badly needed favourite points. This trail is not how it worked out. I have finished with less than I started.It is a real pity I can't remember exactly each of your caches individually but i have given favourite points along the way.Sorry for the generic log. I have a hundred or so to do.Once again, thanks heaps for your great series. It has been a real pleasure to complete.TFTC

After a late start due to leaving the lights on and the car battery went flat. How is that even possible with new cars. Anyway we were keen to pick some of these letterboxes up. Excellent series. Great quality containers and good hides. Had a bit of intermittent rain which made the roads interesting. Sorry for the generic logs. Tasmania trip 2024 with Kittykatch. Day 3 though we arrived late on day 1. Working to get all states and Territories in a year and counties. First visit to Tassie so excited to experience everything. Have been working away at solving these letterboxes for a little while but still have more to go. We are in Triabunna for a few nights for Maria Island and this series. Today the weather cheered up in the afternoon so we decided to head out and tick off the first 10. We found all the caches that we looked for.What a fabulous series, nice sized caches all hidden well. Thankfully the previous finder hadnt cross threaded any of the tubes so I was able to open them without any dramas. Must have cost you a fortune to set this lot up, hopefully the sistemas were all purchased when on special . Hopefully not too many have been swallowed by the extensive grading that is going on around here. Huge thank you to the COs for setting up the series and ongoing maintenance.TFTC

TFTC. Over the past two days I have been working my way through the snake series. I had a couple of DNF's and a couple of incorrect co-ordinates and I believe one or two missing caches. The weather was beautiful although cold. All caches were incredibly well constructed and it must have taken considerable time and many visits to get this all set up for our enjoyment. This is the generic part of the log, for some I have added a bit more detail. Thanks you Stainless-steel-rat and gooseandegg, and anyone else who assist you have excelled. I have never driven this road before.This is the first one for me in the series as a work myself away from Orford.

Found and all good, log a touch damp but okay. I started this series quite some time ago, it was then, and still, is up there with some of the best series I've had the opportunity to do. Unfortunately, there was not the time then to complete. Great quality containers, great coords, great locations... Having spent the most incredible day on Maria Island and being so close to these caches, I was keen to try for a few more on this. So, after an early dinner at Triabunna Fish shack where the scallops and calamari are highly recommended (by me!)... we decided to see how many of these we could manage before needing to drive back to Hobart before it got too dark.We managed a good number, more than I had expected, and ended with a great view and a nice old cache to end with. Thanks for the cache and series. It's great to revisit, and I am looking forward to completing it one day.

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. It was sadly the final day and we were mopping up the end of the TTSS and SSF series while making our way from Orford to Hobart via a whole heap of other caches.

Finished off the final TTSS caches this morning. An excellent power trail series of good quality and sized caches. All was good here at GZ.

On a recent caching trip in the Georgetown area we had a lengthy talk to Grumbligrot who suggested we tackle this series. This one was the first one tackled and was found at 1.15pm. It was an easy one to kick off the snake. The aim was to get as many done as possible today and tackle the rest tomorrow. Thanks.

While visiting on holidays we attended a few Cache Events and everyone has said we have to do The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series.
Finally we've got around to it and completed the TTSS over a few days.
A couple of hours one day, a full day the next and a couple more hours on the third.
We thoroughly enjoyed finding all the caches, there was a nice mixture of containers and some very cool hides.
From now on when other Geocachers ask what are the good caches in Tassie, we'll be recommending they do this series as well.
Well done to all involved in setting the series up, the effort you all put in was fantastic.

Found it during a one-month trip together with Radoshordos to Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Australia, where Tasmania's was main destination of the whole vacation. Singapore is also becoming my 39th visited country and Australia my 40th visited country.

?? A group of 11 of us from New Zealand came over to cache in Tasmania, stayed at Hadley Orient Hotel in Hobart for 3 nights, then 3 nights at Launceston. This is our last day here. Tonight it's back to Hadley's then fly out tomorrow afternoon. G-2 is our nominated driver and Pagenz (our tour director) and me are in our rental. We return the car in a few hours but we know we'll not finish this power trail, just not enough time.?? We did this as a team as you do while caching quickly. Either it was Page who got out or me, sometimes both if I couldn't find the cache or Page was reluctant to climb down rocks. G-2 got out especially to inspect gadget caches and boy, there are a few on this road. I will be back one day to complete the series and my cohorts in crime would love a return visit, just so much to see in Tassy!

Was on a Geotour with a Friendly Bunch of NZ Geocachers!Net61 had pre solved all this series....but we ran out of time to do them all.....Net61 and TrinityNZ went ahead and made the find while I was negotiating car parking!

Well I knew this milestone was coming up and would probably land somewhere near the end of my Tasmanian adventure, well, there you have it... after doing days of number crunching it lands here! The start of this power trail is an excellent place for that to happen!

I’m in Tasmania on a geocaching tour for a week with some other keen New Zealander geocachers. We started in Hobart, travelled up to Launceston, and today we are making our way back down to Hobart, heading across the island and towards the east coast. I’m travelling today with Net61 and Supernanny.

We didn’t have time to complete this series, but thought we would do a detour on the way to Hobart and try to find two or three. This was one of them.

We were keen to check out some local caches before finding our next overnight camp. I had solved some of these letterbox caches but after checking the road was content to only find one this trip. We decided that our motorhome might become a burden to us or others on this road. We drained the water out of the container. The logbook was okay.

Today we came up to Orford to attempt some more of this great series starting at the northern end of Wielangta road and making our down to three thumbs reserve. We ended up with another twenty five of this series found along with another fourteen at Orford and Buckland to make a total of thirty nine finds for the day with two DNFs. Another excellent day out with much better weather than last time! A massive thank you to stainless-steel-rat and gooseandegg for placing and maintaining this series.

This was the first TTSS find of the day.

The Snake Series slithered onto my wishlist the very first day I heard of it, and cat' was bitten too when I mentioned it to her early in our relationship. Over 100 letterboxes lined up, with large and unique types scattered throughout over a couple of counties in God's own country was all just too tempting to ignore.
Having worked through all the projections from home, it was finally our turn to take on the snake on our homeward leg.

After being chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp down there for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down Hobart way, and as far south as you can go, but now that much of the water up north had subsided, it was time to head back up there via the East Coast this time which also meant via this amazing Geoart series.

The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series . Well, where do I start with this awesome set of caches. dalerious and I chose this series to do on our first trip to Tassie as a caching couple, because it not only covered a huge quantity of Letterboxe's, which we both desperately needed, but it also had some Mystery caches thrown in the mix as well .
Unfortunately for us, grading of the middle section of road, and time restraints meant that we will have to finish off the series next time. And if I have it my way, next time will be very soon .

All containers were found in excellent condition, unless otherwise stated. A great mix of containers and hides too .
Thank you stainless-steel-rat for an awesome drive . We even got to see the star of the show; yes YOU and a fair dinkum Tiger snake .
I will be giving favourite points intermittently.

We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.

We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.

Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

We humbly thank all the CO's that provided all the caches, and we can't wait to do it all again down under, under, very soon .

Only a small part of this series (the northern end) has been solved so far, but the ones solved are needed so i can get another 32 more Letterbox Hybrid Caches to fulfil the 100 needed for a Mystery Cache near home, so off i went to go make a start today, Tuesday the 13th of September 2022.

After solving all of this series a few days ago in preparation we decided to see how we would go today. The goal for today was 100 finds in a day.
We ended up looking for 92/105 of this series (and found 9 others to reach 100) and only had one DNF.
The cache containers were all well sized and it never got boring with a lot of nice hides. Several favourite points were given out.

This was the last cache in the series in this direction but then we turned around to do another 6 from the nearby roads with the time we had left until dark.

Headed to Tassie with my muggle driver to complete some geoart and this high scoring series has been on our radar for quite some time. Did not disappoint in the least. Had a great 2 days completing this series, had mostly hits but also a few missus which just means we'll need to come back another time to complete. Thanks CO's for the caches. They were absolutely awesome and great fun to find.

In Triabunna today, going to tackle some of the snake letterbox run. Worked this series out several weeks ago. Thanks to The Snake Charmers for the caches.

What a fantastic letterbox series! We solved these puzzles before our trip to Tasmania. We love letterbox caches as we collect the stamps in our passport (except this one didn't have one).
It was our last day in the area, so we decided to complete some of the TTSS series. We walked up and down parts of this hill, finding all the caches along the way and finished the morning with lunch at the top of Three Thumbs lookout. Awesome view too. TFTCache and series. We will have to come back one day to complete the whole snake of smiles.

Solved all of these before coming to Tassie.
I knew I wouldn't get them all due to terrain and time but did what I could.

Rather symbolic that this is my last tiger snake collected. Have enjoyed the forest drive this afternoon, now we're going to a bottle shop, a grocer then a fish + chip takeaway for a feed.

JACS had previously collected some of this snake so she did the driving while Gcoven and I went searching for tiger snakes. So thankful no live versions were encountered in our searches. Cheers to the Snake Charmers for their part in this geo-art series. and a FP to add to your tally for the TTSS

Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. With inclement weather approaching we utilised today to grab some along dirt roads. Managed to find a few of differing varieties! A fun day despite the rainy patches! Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies Tftc

After completing The Devil series, we headed over to Orford and began on the TTSS series. Unfortunately, we didn't get time to complete the series but I loved the forestry roads and the decent sized cache containers. Thanks for the cache

Today is our second day on this series. We went back to where we got muggled out yesterday afternoon and then started again. We really enjoyed our day, found most of those we searched for and met up with another team along the way. Always great to meet up with others that share this strange obsession of ours, thanks for the chat jodie.rose and Oscar. Favourite points added to the caches we liked best but overall thanks for such a great series, great effort

The plan was that this would be the last for today but then we were so close to 60 for the day that we ended up doing a handful more.

Before leaving Victoria we solved many caches so there are plenty of caches we want to grab (not only solved caches but old caches, favourited caches, challenges and caches that help with challenges) however sadly we will not be able to find them all.

Woke up to light showers but thankfully it stopped and held off for us head back out and grab a couple more of this series.

Id planned a trip to the great state of tassie since work and then covid had kept me out of tassie for almost 18 months.
With the dates booked we wondered where we would cache and what else we would do.
AGFEST was on so things quickly got based around that and some caches were loaded.
My rule is to always start with a coffee at Richmond and then my holiday is officially started.
This series had been spoken about for a while as somthing id be keen to give a crack, the boys (CO's) obliged and we went for a spin to get a few smilies, i wasnt disappointed !
This has got to be the best series ive done, no copy and paste with crappy little caches

This was the first find after a late lunch. Think we got back into it around three pm.
A quick find and we were ready to roll.

I solved the Tiger Snake series soon after it came out. But had been holding off on collecting them as I had an ambition to complete them all in a day. In order to do that, I thought I would need some help from another cacher, or a driver, or both. As it happened, the stars were aligned and a trip was in order today, with a driver who is (until today) a muggle, and not used to travelling with passengers as she's more for 2 wheels than 4. We set off at 5:00am from Hobart, collecting the third member of the party (smallwombat) from Huonville, had an over-priced toastie and coffee at Sorell and picked up a couple of caches in Copping before starting the Wielangta Road southern end around 08:20am. As it turned out, our designated driver knew Wielangta Road very well as her sister lives on it! Our journey took us up to the picnic area, onward to Orford for lunch (because muggins here left his lunch - not onion sandwiches but ham cheese vegemite tomato lettuce and onion in the fridge, and muggins here also forgot to mention to one member of the party to bring some) and back down with the aim of tackling Rheban Road back up to Spring Beach. A research mistake meant that my assumption of which bridge was out was incorrect, and only busted once we were on the wrong end of Rheban Rd and could see the bridge in question at about 4pm. It was at that point that we decided to "call it" and not travel back up to Orford, back down for 13 caches, back to Orford and back to where we were because that would make us late for an impromptu visit for our driver that was locked in. In the end we had 12 non-TTSS finds for the day; and all of the TTSS series found bar the 13 past the (missing) bridge on Rheban Road. Muggins here might have accidentally written the wrong date in a few caches. The pace of some of the finds - I was barely remembering my name to write in the logs. Smaller logs were signed as "JA/SWB/E" or similar. There are some truly excellent caches on this series and many of the titles and hints were met with surprise, chuckles and the occasional dad-joke groan. I have tried to leave fav points but I don't think I have enough. I really appreciate the effort that The Snake Charmers have put in scouting locations, making and placing these caches, and maintining them for our enjoyment.

Caching with The Roadies today and expected a bit of a search here as the last log 8 days ago was a DNF. Instructed everyone, including the muggle driver, to assist in the search but RoadieM had it in hand very quickly. Examining the log we noticed it was a replacement log ... a great example of how on the ball The Snake Charmers are as we presume they had already done a maintenance run and replaced this cache. Excellent! We stamped the nice new log and headed off for morning tea, as muggle driver was starving (apparently!)

Out with tassietan for a day of caching. We were a bit concerned that this might be a flop as tassietan reported that the last log was a DNF. But we had the cache in hand quickly and saw that the log was recently replaced. Very prompt maintenance G&E and SSR!
Thanks for the cache and the series. Sadly our last outing with tassietan for this series as this is her last. We still have the Rheban ones to do at a later date.

Second day of an East Coast Geoadventure. Could be a big one, so trying to log our finds in the order we found them. The intention is to go snaking off down the Rheban Rd and Wielangta. Now back at base camp doing the paer work. Well now, we've been down Rheban Rd as far as we could, with a coffee stop at the bridge that is not a bridge. 2 hours to sign logs on Rheban Rd ........ 8 minutes to drive back to the start of Wielangta Rd. Now to start the run south. a good and easy start with this one thankyou fellas.

After solving this series it was nice to get the opportunity to get out and find them. I travelled with Merilyn Tas and after events in the swansea are we spent 2 nights in Orford ready for a big day out caching.
Unfortunately we didn't get them all done in one day as the BLOODY engine light came on the car so we had to knock off early afternoon. The poor little car had just got hot, its only a little Gutz and the road sign does say sections suitable for 4wd vehicles only!! I sure seen the biggest pot holes I have ever seen. For a road that I thought would be not used at all it was surprising the amount of cars we seen. Day 1 we found 67 and 38 on the second day we were lucky to have no DNF as most had hints to help us out. Was also happy to celebrate my 800th find along the way and Merilyn celebrated her 500th.
Wow what an amazing series so many different container types of along the way. So much time and effort put into making this serius possible you boys have done an amazing job...I'm sure you have shares in a pipe company.

Day 2 of the Snake. Up early on a beautiful day to get the rest of the Caches in this great series before heading home after a great weekend on the East Coast attending the Events held and an cool series of awesome Cache's. Found with CoxFamily7310. Such a great weekend away.

Thank you SSR and GooseandEgg for the huge effort making the Caches and planning and placing them here for us to find and enjoy. The range of different containers and hiding places kept us excited to see what would come next.

On a trip down to Orford to search for the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series of caches in the Wielangta National Forest.
We found all of the snake caches great fun, some very funny cache designs. A lot of thought has gone into the design of this series. The caches are of good quality and co-ords in most cases are very good. Exception is down to swirly GPS and not co’s. This series is like having an up sized big mac meal. When you do the series you will know what I mean.
Nearly every cache has good parking and access to GZ.
Well done to the Charmers on a brilliant series. No wonder you are collecting a lot of favourites.

The puzzles for this series were solved some time ago in preparation for the right time to head off to find them. What time could be better than a birthday weekend for Mrs Coder, with the addition of completing our 500th find! Having headed down from the NW coast for the trip we were able to complete the series with one overnight stay, and take time to explore along the way. All caches were found in excellent condition, with only 3 dnf's which we expect may have become casualties of a flood. With such quality caches placed, we took the time to appreciate the effort put into each of these, and ensure that all bags containing the log book were sealed (which unfortunately many of them closer to Orford were not).
This is by far the best trail we have completed so huge thank you to SSR and gooseandegg for their mammoth effort.

Having travelled from Brisbane with collecting the series in mind for my birthday as I love a Letterbox. It seems that Tasmania is just making me come back after a series of cache blockers from bad weather to punctured tyre and the wait for it to be fixed. We did however make the trip up to get some. I can not leave a series unfinished so perhaps a Christmas holiday is in order or maybe just a trip back next year for the birthday again.

For a month or so now we've been meaning to make a trip up the east coast to Orford to make a start on the Tasmanian Tiger Snake geoart, being as it hadn't been published last time we were in the area. Today ended up being the day, and between finding 18 caches in the series and another handful of caches elsewhere, we ended up setting a new team record of 25 caches in one day!

After stopping for a spot of lunch, we jumped back in the car and headed into the Wielangta Forest. Other than a couple of early exceptions, we ended up picking up all the caches on the left side of the road on the way to the Three Thumbs Lookout, and picked up the missed caches on the way back.

It's definitely an interesting journey through the forest! The scenery is wonderful, and the view from Three Thumbs is amazing! The caches themselves were a great way to break up the journey too, of course, and there was definitely an interesting variety of caches and hides along the way!

Usually we'd tailor each log to the specific cache in question, but we hope you'll understand why in this case we'll be using a generic log for most of the series. We absolutely love the series - it's always great to be introduced to an amazing spot via a well-placed cache or two - but with so many caches in the same area, the reasons for enjoying each of them are largely the same.

Thanks so much for investing the huge amount of time it must have taken to make this series happen! We've had a fantastic day, thanks in no small part to the journey we went on while finding these caches!

Still making our way South along the East coast of Tasmania on our holidays. We got to Orford and had to make a decision on which way to head south. Permission was granted from the wife to grab a few of the Snake Series, so the Rhebun Road was selected.

This being the most northern of the series, it was obviously chosen as the first stop and where Son2 would take over the driving.

Not a good start to this series, I jumped out and left the GPS in the car. Ran what I thought was the correct distance, but all I found was rubbish, burrs and I stuck myself with a thorn. Soon the family joined me, and still no luck. Then grabbed the phone and looked in the correct location and found the geocache.

When I briefly met the COs at the Gong mega last July and they said “if you’re even in Tassie…” I had no idea that six months later, I’d take them up on the invite. Actually, barely two weeks ago today, I had no idea I would even be joining J+J this trip but here we are, third of an impromptu six days away and easily ticking off this trail. By the time I returned home, had kick started 2020 with 355 interstate smileys (about a third of my average yearly total) thanks to four geoarts and numerous finds along the way. Mostly good co-ordinates, clues and some creative camo made for a successful day out with a muggle driver and two experienced eyes free to hunt. Apologies for the generic log unless additional comments required.

We’re travelling in Tassie with Mizmas. This is our 3day and we are targeting this series. Once at GZ a quick find was made.

**My first smiley in Australia!** Fast and fun find with Cache_Lee during a day’s adventure off the Noordam. I had tried to partner up with a local for the TTSS run via the Facebook group for Tasmania and managed to find a teammate from Hawaii! We picked up a rental car as soon as we disembarked the ship and made the drive to the furthest north cache in the series and scored a bunch of smileys on our way back to the port. Looking forward to the Farewell 2019 event in Hobart tonight! Thanks for the fun, The Snake Charmers! I earned *three* souvenirs for this find: Australia, Tasmania, and Goodbye 2019!

Visiting Australia for the first time. On Holland America’s Noordam Cruise ship. We just visited 6 cities in New Zealand with Hobart our first Australian stop. Aloha from Hawaii. We are attempting to complete this GeoArt today!

A visit to the south of the state gave us the opportunity to complete this series.

Starting from the Copping end we snaked our way towards Orford. A total of 7 hours on the trail including breaks.

What a fantastic series. We were impressed with the quality of the hides and the attention to detail. The well stocked caches and variety of hides made this an outstanding series.

Found it. made a swap

After a long day Yesterday StephLego needed a sleep in so when the kids, WillPunkey and Scoob woke up at 5:30 i took them out to grab some caches to give her peace and quiet. i picked this trail and the kids had lots of fun. We did 17 in all this morning before 8am. Thanks Snake Charmers for the FP worthy series. Willpunkey spotted some abalone shells nearby that he wanted to keep. i don’t think StephLego would appreciate picking up rubbish and bringing it back to the motel

Found on the second day of a short visit to Tasmania catch up with family and friends.

After arriving in Hobart the previous afternoon, I picked up the hire car then headed towards Orford, primarily to do the TTSS letterbox/puzzle series, and also to see some friends that live there. The main cache targets for the day were the ones along the Rheban Road between the Wietlanga Road and Spring Beach.

Today I headed south again from Orford, completing the other 90 or so in the series and opportunistically picking up one other traditional along the way.

All of the caches were found without any problems and in good order, and I have allocated a few favourite points to some of the TTSS caches that I enjoyed.

With a planned event this weekend postponed we decided to use the gap in the calendar to check out this fantastic series, we've thoroughly enjoyed these inventive and often surprising finds. Thank you so much for the time, thought, creativity and effort put into these. A truly beautiful part of Tassie to explore.
We began caching at 10.32 and our last find was at 7.50pm, almost all of the caches were easy, quick finds.

The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series was published while we were on the northern island but it became a high priority for our return. Today was the first opportunity to look for the series and we arrived in Orford at about lunch time. Unfortunately it was raining and continued to do so for most of the afternoon. Despite that we had a great time finding 65 caches in the series before we stopped for the day.

Without any hesitation we can say that the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series is one of the three best trails in Australia that we have attempted, and we have certainly tackled quite a few. The planning, cache preparation, attention to detail, creativity and the cache hides are of the highest quality – some were superb. Over dinner tonight we contemplated the caches to which we should award favourite points. The superb and outstanding caches were obvious. However, as we looked at the others we recognized their very high individual quality and compared to others we have recognized recently, we concluded that all Tiger Snake caches that we found today should be awarded a favourite point. The only regret was that we could not award multiple points to some caches.

One interesting observation was that for about the first 30 cache finds, completed while we were in forest areas with low cloud and steady rain, the caches were consistently 6-7m from the confirmed coordinates and that was the same for our two GPS units. For the latter half of the caches, when the rain decreased and we were in a more open environment, the coordinates were consistently very good. Strange!! For the first 30 or so we found, the hints were very helpful and reduced our search time.

This cache was the start of a great days caching despite the weather conditions. The hint led to a quick find.

Congratulations gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat on an outstanding series. We appreciate the efforts that has gone into all aspects, from the initial concept through to the placement of superbly crafted caches. You have created the best trail by far in Tasmania and one of the best in the country.

We will attempt to look for the remaining caches in the series tomorrow.

Been meaning to get out to all these “snake” caches but knew we would need a full day to collect them all and today was that day. We started off early and had planned to have lunch in Orford and then finish the loop off. We accomplished all of the 99 “snakes” (had collected 6 on the day of publication) and 1 other cache in Orford. We had heard wonderful reports on the quality of these caches and they were true. Luckily we have a lot of favourite points to give out. The road has deteriorated, since we were out this way when caches were published and we had to dodge huge holes with water in them but it was worth the rattling along and zigzagging all over the place!

Now with full bellies and COFFEE.......(couldn't believe that the 2 food places were closed so we had to go out of town a bit to get something to eat!) we start the drive south. Quick find and Lady membsec left her mark.

Today I headed out with gridge98 to complete the TSS series along with some other caches to and from home. A great day out and an awesome trail that is a must do.

This was the target of the day, with the largest series of letterbox caches in the country to date it was a must do on my trip to tassie.

A great series full of a variety of hides and some well crafted caches. Definitely not your normal power trail. We enjoyed the creativity on some of them. Some took some searching as the co ords were a little out but the hints were all good.

In total all but 4 were found in 6 hours.

Today was a long day out but purely for caching with JLrockstar, we decided that we would head down and tackle the new TTSS series starting near Orford. Followed by a few other caches. All together a total of 121 finds for the day.

A big thanks to Team The Snake Charmers for developing such a great series. I saw the comments on the Geocaching Tasmania Facebook page when it was published and then from The Hancock Clan who advised us to prepare for an experience we would enjoy. And enjoy we have.

Its going to be difficult placing individual logs for all we have done so I have decided to do this generic log and add individual comments to some that I can remember of the 79 found caches that made up my day. 78 TTSS caches down and still many great caches and locations to go. A reason to return if we can't complete them this trip.

Back out at the TTSS on a beautiful sunny day. Collected another 27 wonderful caches today (from Orford to the Rheban Road junction) and now we have 30 more to find and complete this series which we are enjoying so much. Once again thank you both. Nice variety of containers, good hides and camouflages and swaps aplenty. We went to the viewing area at the Thumbs for a picnic lunch in the sun and returned to the Tasmania Highway at Orford via the Rheban Road. Another good geocaching day.

Today we were out tidying up a few niggling issues on the TTSS series and decided it was now appropriate to log ‘the other half’ (as a beta tester). Stainless steel rat and I are able to move from cache to cache without a map or compass now, we’ve checked and tested them so often.
For quite some time the idea of a big series had been throw around. Lots of road trips were made looking for a suitable location but we turned our noses up as so many options, not being happy with various components such as parking, safety, longevity and interest. Truthfully I can’t remember who suggested The Wielangta Forest Drive and surrounds but I had driven it many time in the past and had enjoyed it so was keen for sure. It took at least a dozen visits scouring, hiding, upsizing, fixing and beta testing the series. We wanted to give teams the chance to find a hundred caches in a day (a long day but we believe it is doable), and to make sure there was a good range of sizes.
The shed at the ‘rats nest’ was a production line of caches for months, with midweek sessions to make many of the caches and then painting over weekends. Others were ordered or scrounged from a range of sellers. This was of course when we were not out searching for locations to hide them! All up it was around nine months of work, fun and frustration. Our biggest concern was the reliability of our coordinates. We would leave a location happy we had accurate recordings but on the next visit the coordinates would be off. Subsequent visits would sometimes be different again, or revert back to the original ones.
No matter how each visit went, we always paused for a beer as we finished up for the day. We would be cold and damp but celebrated our efforts, knowing we were getting closer to publishing with each long day in the field.
Once the caches were all hidden we then had to create the artwork (thanks SSR) and do the listings and projections for over fifty caches each but we could stay warm and dry doing that. Everything was finalized before we tripped off to the Gong Mega so it was just a matter of waiting for the launch BBQ with anticipation.
Sincere thanks to my family and Mrs SSR for accepting we’d be gone for hours on end to create the TTSS series. Now we can go back to actually finding caches!

Out and about with Lil Rafa for a weekend at Orford. After grabbing a yummy breakfast at the event run by The Snake Charmers we set off to find a few caches. Nice quick find, all caches today are all good quality and in great order, thanks to the CO's for all their efforts. TNBPLN. Log dry.

A joint find with RLD4963. After enjoying a lovely breakfast at the event in the morning, we headed off to find some of the newly published TTSS caches. We had a great afternoon find a great variety of caches and as we headed back to our accommodation in Orford we decided to grab just a few more. This was our last for the day and another quick find....now off to a well earned dinner for the driver and myself. Thanks to RLD4963 for all the driving, all the jumping out of the car and searching and most of the finding, and signing of the logs - my job was just to tell him when to stop the car, how far away the cache was, and yell out a hint if it was needed, then get ready for the next cache. Took us a while to get organised but were organised by the end of the weekend. Great caches, great locations, great scenic drive, definitely a series that will bring geocachers from interstate to visit - and they are in for some terrific caching.

#49 and final find for the day. Another one that took a while but we widened our search and eventually found it matching the hint, but not our coordinates.

This is a fantastic series, and words will not be anywhere enough to describe the overall enjoyment. Whilst every cache deserves a unique log, the enormity of the day does not lend itself to that, certainly not with the detail it would require. (Sorry).

So, I'll just say that each and every hide, container, and search was most enjoyable, and its clearly obvious that effort, time and expense that you have put in, and its pertinent to acknowledge the support of your often abandoned families.

Thanks for the hearty breakfast Event, we were well fuelled for the ensuing afternoon.

All hail The Snake Charmers - huzzah !

Alby's log says it well, I reckon we projected nearly 70% of the series before leaving the carpark, our departure delayed somewhat by a flat battery, we eventually headed off at 5 to 2 !!!

Chances of FTF were therefore diminished, although our primary aim was to totally clear out the northern end, as two roads were used and we wanted to avoid double tracking.

We headed out along Rheban Road and returned via Wielangta Road back to Orford in the gloom about 4 hours and 49 finds later.

Thanks heaps, - that simply cannot be emphasised enough.

The first of many superb caches in this series found today. What a fantastic series this is turning out to be! We found 25 of them today with 19 being FTF's and so have plenty more to return to.
