I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi GLAD-NZ

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Found on a walk around the old Taita Soil Bureau area with a couple of friends. The track which may have be an old road has had the gorse cut back and is a pleasant wander. TFTC

#8208. Decided a few days ago that the loop track up the ridge to Snake Gully and back down past the reservoir was a good option for this weekend. Contacted Infoferret to see if she was interested in coming along on the trip. After a change of plans with family activities, she decided to join me in the fun. I was mighty relieved when I started the track above the reservoir to find a commercial trimmer has been up this route and cut back the gorse and blackberry. This made it a lot easier than snipping through blackberry all the way to the top. So now would be a great time to do these caches.

Heading back downhill towards the car now. The forest is taller on these lower slopes compared to the scrubby vegetation on the ridgeline. Nice quick find in a spot very close to the track. Signed and replaced where found. Soon after finding this one we had to back track uphill to the side trail as we saw the no entry sign at the gate. Not too much of a diversion. Thanks GLAD-NZ for the cache.

Have to do more track another day. Bad weather closing in.

23-Nov-19
Quick find on a track we never new existed despite living close by. I recall in my school days visiting the "Soil Bureau" which has since become an arty place complete with funky paint job.

16-Nov-19
Checked while passing by. All good here, so enjoy.

22-Jun-19
Playing taxi-driver this morning, and had a bit of time before I needed again. Read a book, deal to some emails, or get some GROETs? What a silly question. I came straight up the track from the school, and found it immediately in the obvious place. Nice to see it in excellent condition. TFTC.

Out this way today for a walk with the family to find a xmas tree. Gr33nslime and DangerSAM tagged along as we walked up this path into the pine plantation. Plenty of spindly looking baby pines in between the big ones which is perfect. I’m sure someone will appreciate the spot of weeding. DangerSAM managed to walk most of the way up the hill. Not a sole around. A very quiet place to visit and a nice place to hide a cache. Always surprised this place doesn’t attached more people. Thanks for the cache and another GROET cache. Slowly working through the set.

28-Oct-18
Quick find this one. Now for the hike back up the hill. Tftc

Saw that there were some GROET caches placed up on those hills between Taita and Stokes Valley, who would be the GROET CO that would do this to me as I have already nicknamed this area gorse alley. Well there are a few tracks that are in Wellington that have that name and they have them for a reason, and I know the gorse and blackberry are the prefer garden variety for these areas Razz[:o)][xx(].

After making arrangements to meet up with agcnz, and -gonefishing- and after finding GC7XDEH GROET#46 (Taita), this was the last cache that was on the track for me as we were making our way down back towards the cars. Having being on this part of the track and knowing that it was downhill made it a lot more easier as we made our way towards GZ

The walk to GZ was very enjoyable and most of the prickly stuff was behind us now, we finally managed to start making our way down from the ridgeline and to GZ and I managed to track down the hiding spot for the cache and managed to retrieve it.

Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back as found. Thanks GLAD-NZ for placing this part of the GROET cache series here and for bringing us to this spot that I havent being to before, TFTC TNLNSL (13841).

Now where to next, oh yes, down RazzWink to the car, finally RazzRazz, thank goodness that we are getting closer to the car with every step.

I heard agcnz and yeetrees were going for a wander this afternoon, so I invited myself along. I hadn't done any pre-reading on the caches so didn't know about the gorse. As it turnes out the day was pretty hot and sunny, so I was happy in my shorts and just brushing through the gorse and dodging the blackberry. No dramas.
TFTC.

When I was up here earlier in the week I stopped at GZ to make sure I knew exactly where this cache was.

Today was simply about getting to GZ and writing my details on the log sheet.

It was quite late when I left home and it was already getting dark when I parked the car nearby. Unfortunately I didn't bring my glasses or a torch so I signed the sheet "blind" so to speak. What it was intended to say was "11/10/18 CR". What it actually says I can't be sure. Maybe I'll come back sometime in the daylight and have a look.

The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.

Thank you

Nice to see artists to-be giving it a go, we all have to start somewhere. I left home to go for a walk not expecting to look for a cache but then I noticed this cache tucked up here on my phone. So a wander through the colourful place of learning and onto the climb. My phone objected to operating a GPS so I was in the dark a bit. Still I had a hint.
Walked up to the tank and on my descent my eye fell on a likely spot and bingo!
Thanks for bringing me to this track, I had been passed the tank while hunting caches in snakes gully and wondered where this went. TFTC, cheers

Cache # 4,521 - A quick find after a short stroll with Astro Hunter and Violet Buttefly today. Cache in first spot searched. All well here, and quiet at the GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC!

I'm a regular user of Eastern Hutt Road but I have never stopped to explore up here before. So this cache and its buddies provided the perfect reason to explore a track I hadn't been on before. Totally enjoyed the suburban hill climb in the bush. Approaching GZ there was one object which seemed a likely place to hide a cache and sure enough this cache was an instant find at that location. The hint was not needed in accordance with the D rating. TFTC.

It's always great to go caching on a local track for the first time. I had just completed a 5K parkrun so I took my time getting to this spot. It seemed obvious where the cache was going to be and I soon discovered what I was here for.

Came for a walk this morning to hunt out the three new caches recently placed up this way. A pleasant and well-surfaced track that I had not been on before, and a quick find with good accurate coordinates. Signed log, TFTC

#10,364. {FTF} at 15:05 and first day find. Went for a walk in Taita, Lower Hutt on Wednesday afternoon. GZ was all quiet during the visit. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

On the return journey, met another walker along the track. Looked like this was a popular route.

Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …
