Thank you for taking us to this amazing spot! One of the nicest short walks we have done in NZ with amazing views on a sunny morning with not a single cloud in the sky.We left a little something and a fav-point, didn't take anything. TFTC!
At the top of the rock great view. Then just around the side to this cache. Wonderful. TFTC
Did not find, but looking at the comments it seems we are the only ones. Lots of mugglers at the top so didn't look too hard. Will be back. Great walk anyway
Got a downpour when we got to the top but what great views once it passed. Good hide.
That was a climb and then it rained when we came to the top! Made for a muddy descent! Beautiful view! Cache in good shape. Signed and hid back in it's spot. TFTC
Found it on our long time Aotearoa trip together with Laira007. Nice view with a lot of sunshine. TFTC
Spotted the rock (although you can't really miss it) as we searched for a lunch spot in Whangaroa - only one to choose from but the fishing club turned out very nice.Quick look at the map and saw the caches up here so had to have an after-lunch "str byoll". Drove up the gravel road to the parking and set off. Does seem that DOC can't quite decide on 600m/20 mins or 700m/30 mins? Anyway, good workout with an awkward final scramble with the aid of the chains but boy is it worth it. Maybe the best view point of our trip so far.Easy find giving another for this important day - 29 Feb and completion of my finds calendar but also day 366 of my Streak. The possible significance of started a streak on 1 March last year didn't occur to me at the time Cache has to have a FP.
Super endroit ! Merci pour cette cache incroyableOn a fait le lever du soleil sur le rocher, quelle belle matine !
Day 4 of our northland road trip. We were picking up LX5 so it was illogical not to continue up here Thoroughly enjoyed the walk up to this cache on a nice sunny day. Thanks for setting it up A favourite from me
Paper replaced with a camouflaged pill container inside another pill container
Best all find all week no sock or rock needs attention found with sirswazy he sent photo to the owner
Walked up the mountain for the view and remembered to look for caches and found it. No pen
Found the sock in the rock. The log is pretty wet now though. Left a little surprise.
Worth the climb for the view, TFTC. Log is now hidden behind a sock, no rock anymore!
Unfortunately, the stone was stolen by a muggle. We found only the log sheet in a bag. The walk is nice and short, but really steep!

After spending the morning around Mangonui a friend and I headed for this walk that was high on my list to do while in the area. It was quite a warm day and unsure how much climbing would be involved, but we could see several others already on top when we arrived at the parking area.
We began the trek uphill which was too bad (although I did need to stop and catch my breath a couple of times) and even the small climb up the chains wasn't overly taxing as well. There was quite a breeze at the top of the chains which nearly whipped my hat off my head, but all was calm on the other side of the peak in the shelter of the rock.
I found the cache quite quickly on the windy side (as mentioned log in plastic bag only) and took it back to the sheltered area. Had a good conversation we a couple of American sailing visitors before signing and placing it back. Tried looking for something a little heavier to add some cover but could not find anything large enough.
Thanks for the great little adventure and placing this cache in such a good location with fantastic views.

What a climb!!!
Searched and searched and eventually found the log. As previously stated, it has no container anymore but the log was dry and the view made up for it!
Thank you!

Wow! Great climb. Cache has no container but log is there under a rock. Views are incredible
Out for a morning stroll with Jo and Andy Hay from Cable Bay. What a magnificent sight and site. Surely well worth a favourite point, tftc.
Morning outing for some exercise and to check out the view. We have been up here on a previous occasion and the panorama never fails to impress.
Found a log sheet in a plastic bag jammed in a crevice. Have replaced under some rocks at the base of said crevice behind a climbing plant. Can the next geocacher passing by please bring a small container along with them to house the log.

Found it ! The log was completely soaked though, and only sealed in a plastic pocket. Incredible view !
Beautiful views from the top and enjoyed the climb up too! Forgot pen to sign log. TFTC
Terrain score is imo quite high for that cache. The view is just marvellous from up there. Thanks a lot.
Been wanting to get up here for ages, but legs were just too tired on our last visit to the area as we'd just completed the Cape 2 Kaitaia cycle. Took the opportunity today while picking up the car after yesterday's excellent cruise down the coast to the BOI. Whoooeee, blowing a gale today. Glad the climb is actually quite a bit easier & safer than expected, & footing up top is not a worry. Awesome views, TFTC!
What climb for me, but I made it!! Extremely pleased. Great views of all 360 degrees.
The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. TFTC. Signed NNES.

Totally awesome. I got a much needed DT rating too. Day eight of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. We are up North visiting our friend Gracie's GPS fun. Ethness and I are having a wee road trip to St Paul's Rock and Cape Reinga today.
Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.
Thanks bobcat105 for placing this geocache 7824 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

Took longer than it should because of the crowd of 1. Cache in good condition. TFTC
On a bit of a road trip this weekend to try and make some good progress on the new Mystery at the Museum souvenir challenge. I have very few unfound caches anywhere near home base, so these challenges are a good excuse to head off on a mission and potentially visit some new places.
This was another place I had never been before. After the drive up the narrow road, I managed to find a good park and then set off for the summit. The track was very greasy and slippery after the recent rains, but I still made good time to GZ without slipping over. Quite surprised to find a family with three young children up there as well, given the conditions.
Even though the muggle family was at the top as well, the cache was soon located in the hint location unseen by any of them. Took it away to sign the log and then, once they had started to head down, replaced it safe and secure for the next finder. Pleased to also find a "sapphire" in the cache here to help with the challenge. TFTC

Am working in the area for a few days and when I saw this rocky outcrop and discovered that I can climb to the top, I was very excited.
After we knocked off today, I kept my dirty PPE and boots on and made my way up the hill to the reserve. I had to ask a friendly local if it was Old Hospital Rd that gets to the access and he confirmed it was. Wow that road was a mission also.
Once I got to the sign, it said it should take 20minutes to the summit, but I got there in under 10 minutes, not even going fast.
I arrived here just before dusk and I had time to enjoy the view in daylight and start the hunt for the cache before it got dark quickly.
The view from the top was quite spectacular, even though the clouds blocked most of the sunset this evening. I imagine that you would get some amazing sunsets and sunrises from up here in good weather and I plan on finding out if all goes to plan.
This is an amazing place for a cache, and this one fits in well with the setting.
I replaced the receipt and the scrap of paper inside with a page from my Rite in the Rain fieldbook so it should last for sometime and handle some moisture.
Thanks for bringing me to this awesome place. I may never have discovered this place had a cache not been here.
A fav point added.

lovely groupie walk this afo back up here after a few years. amazing views and nice quick find. now to get back down.
I was at Kaeo Playcentre today so headed out this way afterwards. I'm keen to fill in a few dot days on my graph so I picked up the new dingy cache down below. I wanted to walk up St Paul's again for the exercise and to dry out the old LX-5 cache up here. I spent about an hour carefully separating and drying it's pages. It's nice to try and keep the old caches going. I headed up here afterwards with another piece of paper for the log. It was quite a puff up the hill on such a hot day. It really is a beautiful location up here, TFTC
Nice! Great views from here. Good way to spend the last week in New Zealand. Thank you
Excellent view and excellent hidden cache!
Thank you very much.

Nice to get a joint {FTF}. Really windy today. fabulous views and quick find. Tftc
My caching buddy GraciesGPSfun messaged me this morning asking if I wanted to do one of the new caches in Kerikeri with her today. Of course I was keen and a plan was hatched. Had nice bush walk in my new tramping boots to find that one. We then delivered pizza to my daughter for a class shared lunch. Grabbed a pizza for us as well and headed off to Whangaroa to get the joint {FTF} up St Paul's. It's a steep walk up to the top but luckily the showers held off for us today. A quick find but it was very windy up here. Sat on the shaded side for some selfies of the lovely view. A great day out was had, TFTC
